@Lastpage,I feel you. That is what it is suppose to be,we should eshew all these malice and hatred from our lives and deal with people as individuals and not placing a blanket hatred on ethnic group just because of one or two experiences from people from such groups. This reminds me of a Yoruba gentleman who contracted me to network and manage his company computer network back in Naija.I was kind of surprised that despite many who bidded for the contract especially from his Yoruba ethnic group,he gave it to me an Igboman. So i was eager to find out from him why.His response got me to change my perspective from that day onwards. He said"i don't deal with people based on their ethnicity but based on if they are right for the job"he added that even people from his ethinicity have defrauded him more than any other ethnic groups in his life.
. . .it says a lot that it took someone to tell you this for you to be enlightened.

When nations said that they were indifferent (non alliance) to the conflict that was rocking the USA and the USSR in the 60's known as the cold war, it did not mean that they were not observing the events that were unfolding.

Pikin, you are lost. I pity your employer because they would have to explain every project thrice before it could simmer into your okpokoro ishi.
LOL. At least I have a "job", unlike the "indifferent" dude who spends his days at his father's company documenting how many women come to visit the Yoruba men in the company. What kind of man would even admit to such a shameful existence? Not having anything going for you to the point that it's the "women visit schedule" of other men you sit to study. How lame. Loser.

If nations are indifferent even as you pointed out, they will not go as far as sitting down to study the activities of any of the parties (since they have better things doing). That's indifference.

Nationalizing oil also demands that you take full control of the process. Where you cannot do the work, you let foreign companies continue to handle it.

I suppose you were educating me, but I am well aware that Venezuela's oil sector is nationalized. And I don't see why we can't do the same as Venezuela pointed out to us. The Western World hate nationalization because of course they don't have the upper hand. Any student of history knows the reason Patrice Lumumba was assassinated (even with the connivance of the CIA) was because he threatened to nationalize the mines of Congo.

ceejayluv: It depends on d person's background. An igbo person that grew up in a remote rustic area in the east and having heard biased tales of how every Yoruba folk is a juju freak will be apprehensive whenever he/she sees a yoruba person.
See, without bigotry, even if you are from a rural area you won't merely base your perception of an ethnic group on hearsay; after all who says Igbos do not engage in fetish? Certainly any Igbo person who says "Yorubas are fetish" is living in denial as they are no more or less fetish. So that person must already have a bias which of course limits logical reasoning.

The press is located there because that is where the customers are situated (which are not individuals but multinational companies) and if the major companies among these customers relocate the next day, the press would relocate with then. Economics 101.

I am a grown man and can afford to tow my own path since I can afford it and if keeping away from lagos is part of my decision, who are you to question it.

What you might not know is that my secondary school was attended in lagos and that was where my innocent perspective about yorubas was changed for ever.

Is it the constant Igbo jokes in class by students and teachers or the everyday downright embarrassing questions over Igbos and cannibalism from fellow students or the downright tribalism you face from yoruba teachers because you appeared to be smarter or more intelligent than your fellows.

Like I said, I do not hate yorubas because they are not worth it but I learned a lot about them and those experiences have partially molded my view on them.

Like I said earlier, lagos is where the mils are coming from for my pops and he is a wise man for utilizing that opportunity for as long as he can.

My path is different.
Blah blah blah. . .

I can't believe you are still talking. This is the same person who claims Yorubas are more promiscuous than Igbos; then he says he has no time to study them - he just lands in MMA and breezes to Igbo land. I think you just don't study them; you sit and take notes to do exams to enter into your Society for Dimwitted Bigots. Smarter than who? If you are half as smart as you claim, you wouldn't be here contradicting yourself.

Everything about them is inconsequential to me. I cannot date their women, would deliberately not befriend them or approach them for any cooperation, unless situation demands that, don't find their lifestyle or appearances appealing to me and just simply don't deem them viable to anything in my life.

It is not hate and I view them just as I would view distant somalis, irrelevant.

My plane drops at MMA and I'm on the next route to my homeland and have no time to observe them in lagos.

Anybody who bases the relationship of Yorubas and Igbos on Nairaland posts are completely lost. While these bunch are busy making noise, Yorubas and Igbos are collaborating in every sphere of human endeavor (even corruption/embezzlement). Within the past few months, I have seen so many Yoruba men take Igbo brides (including that female blogger - what's her name again?)

So let the bush people continue doing what they do best while those younger than them (because I know many of these bush people are in their late 40s) are running things.
