iwonbaoko: IS THIS LESS THAN TEN AS YOU CLAIMHe is merely telling you how much premium he puts on human life. You didn't even put the unborn child of Ademulegun in your list as his wife was pregnant. Oh, by the way Nzeogwu killed one of his own soldiers who was not shelling the Sardauna's compound as he wanted. If my memory serves me, he not only killed that soldier but also several guards of the Sardauna. Whilst he was with Manga he heard Major Nzeogwu shouting repeatedly "Fire you bastard, fire". Immediately after this both Manga and Adebiyi heard a burst of SMG fire. They turned round and observed Sgt. Oyegoke slumped on the ground bleeding from multiple wounds. It was clear to both that their colleague had been killed by Major Nzeogwu either for refusing to obey or because he attempted to run away. 144. On arrival at the main gate to the compound, Major Nzeogwu found 4 PCs on guard in front of the gate. They were the following:I have read of accounts where Nzeogwu claimed he was not armed and yet his men obeyed him; and could've killed him if they wanted to or found his orders not to their taste. Does this not rubbish that claim? http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/nigeria_facts/MilitaryRule/Omoigui/1966Coup-PartThree.html |
malvisguy212: am a boy of 30years, WHO HAVE SEEN JESUS TWO TIMES.No wonder you are still a BOY at 30. By the way I beat you: I see him everyday! |
tpia1: There are no answers to these questions until we know something of his history.Whatever the case may be, his trip to Nigeria definitely had no bearing with him getting prompt medical attention. Though several of your questions here do not need answers. For instance, Nigeria need not be aware of his exposure to Ebola; that was the business of Liberia. Nigeria cannot be sending an Ebola patient as a representative to South Africa without looking foolish. |
tpia1: do you have any explanation why mr sawyer did not request evacuation back to the US?At best, he suffers from a Personality Disorder (Narcissistic Personality Disorder comes to mind) or Mental Illness that makes him to perpetually be in denial of reality: when his sister was infected he continued to care for her refusing to consider Ebola till he got infected; and he even rejected the diagnosis of Ebola for his sister even though she died. At worst it was a vindictive and intentional plot to infect Nigerians. I saw reports indicating he knew he was infected and kept to himself while leaving Liberia. Why did he lie when interviewed by the Nigerian medical team that catered to him about exposure to Ebola? Why did he get his people to call the medical staff to let him go and continue his assignment in Nigeria? Does that look like someone looking for medical assistance? |
MissMeiya: Congratulations on managing to hold a civil conversation until now. Do you want a cookie? What's your alternative? That Sawyer intentionally booked his flight to Liberia and then to a "supposed" conference in Nigeria, so he could purposely infect himself and bring it to Nigeria, and die there?Any theory from a Manchurian Candidate to Brainwashing by Martians sound more plausible than the boneheaded one you came up with; and that is putting it mildly. |
tpia1: We're both speculating.Lol. You don't know the meaning of speculation it seems. I have just told you the standard US practice. There is a reason 2 US citizens who required critical medical assistance were immediately evacuated. |
tpia1: There are still a lot of americans waiting to be evacuated from liberia. I doubt sawyer would have been given special treatment prior to recent events. Still speculation anyway.Glad to know you realize you are merely speculating. Any US citizen positive for Ebola infection would automatically be given higher priority and evacuated if necessary. This should be pretty obvious. |
tpia1: Might have been harder for him considering his position, unless he was expressly given clearance by those in a position to do do.Look Sawyer was a US citizen. The fastest way for him to get medical aid was to present himself at the US embassy at Liberia and he would've been evacuated to the US if necessary. Snails? They've been banned from importation into the US since February 2004. How is this news? |
MissMeiya: Straight from an Ebola-affected country?Lol. I have really restrained from dissing you, but this is the dumbest post of yours yet and it lays bare your intellectual deficiency. Sawyer is a US citizen and there is no way US would've turned back their own Ebola or not. But I take it Sawyer shared this your dimwitted plan with you? How did you come up with it? |
MissMeiya: I doubt many people in today's Nigerian culture would have missed the opportunity to return to the US for a better chance of survivalHuh? You mean he came to Nigeria so as to "escape" to the US? He couldn't travel directly to US? |
MissMeiya: *blank stare*Indeed you should have a blank stare. Which countries border Nigeria? Are Liberia, Guinea or Sierra Leone one of them? Lol you don't realize Nigeria being a hub refers to air travel? The only scenario through which Ebola could've made it to Nigeria is exactly as has happened: through an elite government official. Poor people from affected countries cannot make it to Nigeria by road. Especially the infected ones. |
MissMeiya: You're too lazy or proud to admit that the Nigerian government is inadequately protecting its borders if you think ebola "skipped" other countries to come to Nigeria because of some dastardly plan by Sawyer. You don't know about land borders? You didn't know people don't solely travel by air? You didn't know people in the affected countries have been fleeing and migrating, and just conducting normal business with their bordering countries for MONTHS? But yet, those countries remained outbreak free.Madam, it takes an averagely smart person to know that the only threat posed to Nigeria is by air as a person visibly sick with Ebola cannot survive a journey by road all the way from Liberia/Guinea/Sierra Leone. Countries bordering Guinea have every reason to have a heightened alert far higher than Nigeria. |
MissMeiya: Ebola skipped two countries and landed in Nigeria. After months, the countries in between are still without the outbreak. As if you don't know how Ebola managed to skip as you said and "land" in Nigeria. Let me remind you how: Nigeria is a hub in West Africa. Ebola skipped countries between Liberia and Nigeria and landed in Nigeria courtesy of ONE man only: a CRAZY man by the name of Patrick Sawyer. Does that remind you what this thread is about? Check this news report: Documents obtained by this newspaper showed that Mr. Sawyer’s employers, ArcelorMittal, an iron mining company, suspended him from work and isolated him after it became aware that he had contact with his sister who died of the virus on July 8. The company also issued an internal memo to staff of the company informing them that Mr. Sawyer had been referred to the Liberian Health ministry for testing and close observation. The Liberian Government was aware that Patrick Sawyer, its citizen who brought the Ebola virus into Nigeria, had possibly contracted the virus from his late sister, yet cleared him to travel to Nigeria for a conference organised by the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS], PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today.http://saharareporters.com/2014/08/12/how-liberian-govt-cleared-patrick-sawyer-travel-nigeria-ebola So this is it: the failure was not only from the Nigerian end; it was ALSO from the Liberian end. That CRAZY man knew he was infected. Nigeria trusted that Liberia would not be sending a CRAZY man with Ebola to represent them in Nigeria. The CRAZY man was basically travelling under diplomatic immunity as a representative of Liberia so scrutiny was minimal. |
doja: The truth is the action of Mr. president is very very unpresidential.I am really curious; but this question has burned in my mind after reading your post: is it "unpresidential" for a President to hold his d1ck while peeing? I suspect Obama has someone who helps him hold his d1ck when he pees; but it's just a gut feeling. We know a President isn't supposed to do things like normal humans. Your thoughts? I also have other questions on what is "presidential" and "unpresidential" but let's start with this one. |
red101: HIV protective genes found in TanzaniaFound almost exclusively in East Africa. Researchers found that individuals with the HLA-A*7401 allele, a genetic variant of the class I HLA alleles, were less likely to get infected during the study than those who did not carry the allele. Additionally, among the individuals who were HIV positive when they entered the study, those with the A*7401 allele were less likely to have CD4 counts below 200 (a clinical measure of progression to AIDS), compared to those not carrying A*7401.This is quite different from the mutation found across Europe; and this does not provide protection against Ebola and others in the Filoviridae family. What does that tell you? Furthermore, East Africa is one of the most genetically diverse regions in the world. What does this tell you? I don't think you know how to reach logical conclusions, but the above quote tells me this mutation must have come about as a result of the interaction of East Africans with populations outside Africa (most likely Europeans). |
red101: Genes that evolved to protect against Malaria found to create susceptibility to HIV (has to do with red blood cells and immunity.Very obvious connection considering sickle cell)How retarded? So you can't see you are backing up my point? Malaria is NOT a viral disease so of course we don't expect it to cause a mutation that will protect against a virus. Whereas Black Death which was thought to be a bacteria could only have been a viral disease (and similar to Ebola) given the evidence of the pattern of mutation across Europe; and which provided immunity to the class of viruses to which Ebola belonged (Filovirus) as well as HIV. |
teeowl: because our emotions tend to take over from logic.Sorry. You do not speak for me here. Check my username? Exactly. |
teeowl: Was patrick swayer crazy? I don't thinks so... I think he was in denial. He just did not want to accept the fact that he might have contracted the ebola disease. He was in denial his sister had Ebola. He misbehaved when her diagnosis came in. He was in denial when asked if he had been in contact with anybody sick with Ebola as he lied; he claimed he hadn't been. He was in denial when he was diagnosed with Ebola. How far will his denial go? That denial in itself is an indication of his mental state. |
ElFenomeno1: And it doesnt make it right.... Whether it is Bush, Jonathan or Obama... It doesnt make it the right thing to do.Who defines right or wrong here? This is a gray area. What Sawyer did could have led to a major diplomatic row between the 2 countries; he being a government official. Do you know that calls even came in from their embassy telling the medical crew tending to him to let him continue on to Calabar as he had an important message to deliver or something along the lines? Could that message be the Ebola payload he was carrying? My guy, this is a gray area as emotions are high. There is no other way of describing what the man did, other than crazy. |
ElFenomeno1: No. He doesnt have to be addressed as a gentleman. But it was not a good look calling him a crazy man on live TV!Guy, where I think is so far away from your fvcking box. My thinking does not even involve boxes. But I am happy The President conveyed the minds of most Nigerians to the Liberians. Yes, he must be feeling the heat because the FG fvcked up as well, hence his anger. It is no different from George Bush referring to Osama as evil and comparing him to Hitler and Lenin. |
How would you rather have him described? Gentleman? |
ghostofsparta: @LogicaDefinitely not a CIA spook. They tend to be smarter than this one here. But it would be nice if she was. |
englishmart: I don't call things with their nicknames. Aka is not in my diarySorry. Ogbeni stop trying to be smart in covering up your ignorance. Sporting Lisbon is the popular name of the club. |
red101: athens plague = 2500 yrs ago (from Ethiopia) Geneticists, archaeologists and physical anthropologists are revising the conclusions drawn in the late 1990s; they are now finding ancient DNA with the mutant gene CCR5-Δ32 in skeletal remains in northern Europe as early as 2900 years ago.36 Some have estimated its age at 5075 years, and have argued that ‘the high frequency of the allele cannot be attributed solely to a strong selective event within the past millennium’http://qjmed.oxfordjournals.org/content/99/8/497.full ...and this dummy is speaking of "from Ethiopia". "From Nigeria with love ni...". |
red101: YOu agreed with the OP about the so called "german connection" which in essence is that the virus was manufactured in german labs.LMAO. So the German connection => virus manufactured in German labs. Anybody with sense can see what I termed the German connection CLEARLY in my post. Now, if through your hallucinations you see "manufactured in German labs" in my post, that is your wahala. |
red101: that's very interesting and cool. I wonder what the rates are in African populations. Most likely much higher protection.1diocy once again. We deal in specifics not speculation. For your information, that protection only occurs in Europe. Stop speculating and start reading. |
red101: well, the article mentioned athens plague not black death. that is the point. You should find your 1diocy hilarious; because you cannot point to anywhere in my post where I made the claim in bold. Every time you post, you show yourself to be too dim to even engage in a debate. Of course the theory that Black Plague was not caused by a bacteria but by a virus is new (and even as the theorists presented facts); but of course it is much more logical which is why people like you never heard of it. Logic is foreign to you. Whether you like it or not, Black Plague and other outbreaks common in Europe which ended up creating a mutation that yielded protection to 10% of Europeans while all we have in Africa is indication of VERY RECENT arrival is enough of a pointer. Keep on bandying archaic theories like "Black Death is Bubonic Plague" around. |
Oh, and for the mutation that protects 10% of the white population: http://www.joshuakennon.com/how-the-ccr5-delta-32-mutation-beat-the-black-death-smallpox-and-hiv-and-gave-european-whites-control-over-north-america/ http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/03/050325234239.htm |
