Ptolomeus: No. We dont have that rule.Okay, I will find out! I will ask my uncle |
I agree logicboy. Atheism is not a product of any nationality but it may be strongly promoted by specific nationals. It’s as absurd as saying that homosexuality is a product of the west. Just because certain societies may choose not to recognize something doesn’t mean it doesn’t or never existed. Moreover there are and were people who operated undercover for fear of rebuke or ostracism. At best one may say atheism is not a traditional African concept.
Good, I 100% agree with you. There are atheists everywhere. Africa is a very spiritual continent but that doesnt mean we dont have skeptics |
Martian: I said sorry!! You don't have "issues"Sorry, I posted first by mistake. It's okay I need your input on this thread; https://www.nairaland.com/976130/atheism-not-african-thing-european |
...double post |
Odunnu: Are you trying to tell us something? Dude wasnt even specific on the kinda 'issues' he thinks you have. You just pinpointed. Wow! Good to know though. Are you playing st.upid or something? What does it mean when someone says you have "issues"? ![]() |
Ptolomeus: Dear friend:jajaja Writing on the ground is forbidden in my African Village. Do you have this rule in Uruguay paganism? |
OLAADEGBU: In your attempt to make atheism "intellectual" you want are claiming that Einstein didn't believe in God. This is what Einstein had to say in response to your likes:Agnostic not atheist In a 1950 letter to M. Berkowitz, Einstein stated that "My position concerning God is that of an agnostic. I am convinced that a vivid consciousness of the primary importance of moral principles for the betterment and ennoblement of life does not need the idea of a law-giver, especially a law-giver who works on the basis of reward and punishment."[15] Author Anthony Alioto has referred to Einstein as an "agnostic theist"[16] sometimes called a form of deism or panentheism. |
OLAADEGBU: Do we have to go over this again?Nonsense, when you look at rain, is it created by the creator or just part of a water cycle? Abeg comot with your intelligent design nonsense. Intelligent design has been debunked |
FXKing2012: I have been wondering why people always attribute such things as car crash, death, sickness, plane crash, poverty, war, etc etc to God. Do you really think God enjoys seeing people suffer? Do you think God needs the weapon of the devil to operate effectively and efficiently? It's so sad when even so called Christians attribute human sufferings to God and they try to suggest that God caused it.Sorry to open with an insult but you are quite ignorant. There is no easy way to tell you about the flaws in your statements. 1) The bible shows how God caused painful suffering in the old testament. Killing Jobs family just to test his faith. Giving the Egyptians (some of whom were innocent) plagues and killing their innocent first born children. 2) God created, everything according to you, therefore, he created leprosy, earthquakes, floods and suffering https://www.nairaland.com/976130/atheism-not-african-thing-european |
Martian: I said Religion/Philosophy because other topics of philoophical leanings are discussed. And how many accounts do you need? You have issues.I was banned from the muslim section permanently and so, I use the other account there. I dont have issues. It would be better for you to ask why next time rather than accusing me of some mental problem |
This is the argument that I am getting from religious people here on Nairaland. I humbly disagree. Atheism is a worldwide phenomenon. The people that make this argument are the religious people (christians and muslims) in retaliation to the annoying fact that Islam and Christianity are both foreign religions that came with slavery of black people in Nigeria. The statment that atheism is a foriegn religion is a shameful act of revenge on the part of religious folks who can not accept that their religions were not meant for them and existed hundred of years ignoring them in West Africa. Here is my rebuttal 1) Atheism is not a religion. Anyone can be an atheist, anywhere. It is a disbelief in God. No rituals or customs or baptism or conversion, just a disbelief. 2) There have always been people that have been doubters of God or gods in every race, religion or group of people at any time. They were killed for their doubts in the past but now humans have mostly evolved past that stage. Of course, atheism is always in the minority or are mostly invisble because people dont want to be killed for being outsiders. The Japanese say "a nail that sticks out will be hammered" 3) Following point number 2, even in our African pagan history, there were men who went against the oracles or the gods. Some of them were banished from villages or beheaded. Some of them won wars without the oracle and became gods themselves as kings. There are people in the villages who are born to pagan households but dont believe in the pagan idols or religion. My grandmother is one of them 4) My grandmother from southern Nigeria in the village was an atheist or at least, a skeptic. She was born to a pagan family and retained the pagan status but she never threw things in the river or did any of the customary practices of her pagan religion. When me and my siblings asked her about Jesus when she visited us in the city, she asked us why she should believe in Jesus that she is more concerned about her children and grandchildren who she has raised without Jesus. Furthermore, there was an instance in which she proved her disbelief in the pagan religion. In my mothers village, it is forbidden to write on the ground (sand). As children from the city, we did not know this and we were playing with clay and writing on the ground. A woman came to shout at us and stopped us from writing on the ground. We ran inside to tell my grandmother who was furious and came outside but the woman was gone. My grandmother said that we should not mind the villagers with their useless superstitions. Atheism is a worldwide phenomenon and not a foreign religion. Agree or disagree? |
musKeeto: Somewhere between the Old Testament and New Testament, Yahweh repented..Lmao! ![]() |
FXKing2012: You have to first admit u have no spiritual standing to interpret the Bible b4 I could even start to help your understanding.Did you need spiritual standing to interpret the Quran to know that it is not the way to heaven? |
FXKing2012: Seriously, u are the lost sheep who needs to find his way to the true God. Until u admit that u dont have the spiritual understanding to interpret the Bible, u will always wallow in ignorance and dwell in darkness.Lol....see this guy. Answer the question before you start preaching |
Martian: Calm down. I said religion/philosophy in order not to give religionists the excuse to call me a "communist" or something like that.No vex.....Cheers01 is my alter ego ![]() I was just saying that it would be pointless to have such a section as long as your philosophy is on religion because religion itself is philosopy. The bible itself has philosophy. |
JeSoul: Went unnoticed? not a chance.Sorry for being off topic but are you a Glenn Beck fan by the way? I came across one of your past posts |
OLAADEGBU: If I say that I don't believe Seun exists what would that make me? And if Seun on the other hand says that God does not exist, what will that make him? Let's see whether you can crack that.I have already debunked that flawed argument. There is evidence for Seun and none for God. Dont push this failed argument |
The significance of your mom enemy showing in the dream means enemy. So the reveal of ur dreams come out two face. 1.enemy 2.ur antie. and ur ant in the dreams means she will be or has already be ur enemy. U have to pray and be careful around her
This is how you christians destroy peoples' families because of your nonsense fortune telling |
Imanuelle: People are getting wiser!Yes oo! |
Majority of Americans are down with an atheist president. http://www.unitedliberty.org/articles/10310-gallup-majority-of-americans-are-down-with-an-atheist-president We are growing. ![]() https://www.unitedliberty.org/files/images/g-ath.jpg |
aletheia: It is quite clear now that you haven't the foggiest notion of what Time is, or what Time travel entails. For starters go hereI will leave you to confuse yourself. The very fact that I mentioned wormholes in time travel shows that I know what I am talking about. You are free to continue yapping about |
Image123: you're a liar like the devil. Anything that any man has is given him by God. its not the birds making that they have sharper vision, neither is it man's making that he's more brilliant than other living things. What we are responsible for is to fear God and keep His commandments. Anyone who fails this single task is a failure irrespective of whatever else he may do. To not acknowledge the task at all is what makes you a fool, not your JAMB score.Hahahahahah ![]() Image123 is mad!! Why so angry? It's not my fault that ur bible is wrong! https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lq924w3sf01qgj981.gif |
Pastor AIO: Wow! I've just read this one again. It kinda ends on a cliff hanger. There are so many interesting tangents that could have emerged each deserving a thread of it's own. This golden age was before my time here on NL! I still read 2009/2010 articles! Even some far back! I guess many christians and muslims did not want to share their religious debates with unbelievers. They got tired of it. I'm sure many users prefer to dicuss theological issues with fellow believers. Debate gets tiring when your side is on the losing side that is always attacked. Just my opinion |
aletheia: Your petulant post just goes to show that you really don't have a grasp of what you are talking about. How is "Time on earth" different from Time elsewhere?Does the moon or mars or venus rotate at the same rate as the earth? Hmm? If you were living on planets, your calculation of days and night would be different. If you are thinking of wormholes, those wormholes better be on earth or you are entering another time in another galaxy |
Anybody? |
aletheia: Actually in a sort of way it is. Study some more.nope. its not. We are talking about time on EARTH |
Pastor Kun: Hmmmmm an atheist who believes in spiritual dimensions and heaven; very interestingnope....this is sci-fi. Dont believe in heaven |
Ptolomeus: Just a couple of examples.Thank you! |
ZUBY77: I will just zoom off into the universe to see if there is Heaven. If i found one, i will return to tell the World ![]() Time machine not spaceship. As for heaven, spiritual dimension is spiritual and not in space. |
davidylan: Nope. Not healthy particularly at the 10-16 age. What, do you think 10-16 old muslim/atheist/pagan children are good preachers that can convert people or something? Are you not teaching your children bigotry not to associate? But this is healthy for them; |

. I just dislike lazy work that pretends to masquerade as science. As one who careers in science, it is particularly embarrassing to see. And as a spiritual person I especially enjoy reading new scientific discoveries that push the boundaries of what we already know.
