We both finished our NYSC service last year, luckily enough we started a POS business and as God will have it, we are both doing well, we both make a minimum of 5k at least on daily basis.

The main problem is that of recent she is talking about applying for her masters degree, l told her what is the essence of going for masters degree when the degree we obtain has not been any useful to us, why not expand this particular business, be financially stable before you start talking about masters, beside we need to build our self financially well if we have to settle down.

She told me that is her long time ambition and she is not expecting any money from me, she left my house this morning with anger.

Please Nairalanders, did l do anything wrong? What is the best way to handle this issue?

On a serious note, your girl understands the situation of the world and she's taking her destiny jealousy in her hands.
First degrees are not enough to get you going anymore. Her decision to get a masters degree is the best she'll have to make.
You better support her through the programme.
Postgraduate degrees are not compulsorily full time. She can still school while taking part in the business. Afterwards, you too can start studying for a Masters degree.
Opportunities can pop up anytime and a Masters degree holder has an edge over one with just a first degree any day, anytime.

And should you still decide to break up with her, just be a nice guy and send me her contact. I am still single and looking for an ambitious woman like your soon to be ex.

These punishments were undoubtedly brutal and could be tagged inhumane but they surely shaped us into what we are today.
There are arguments in some quarters that some people still ended up irresponsible even after all the "tortures". While these arguments are true, it is on record that a far larger percentage of children during our days came out of school well cultured not because their parents did all the job, but because their teachers were given enough authority to teach and to train.
These days, children are so unlucky that their parents fight schools and teachers whenever serious attempts are made to thoroughly discipline them.

I will not be calling the name of any church, but why do some churches takes the deads to the church and pray for their sins to be forgiven before they are laid to rest?

Note, that most of this person are kept long in murtuary for months, and some even last up to years in the murtuary. But when it is time for their burial, they are first taken to the church for prayers. This prayer is mostly centered on asking God to forgive their sins and accep their souls into his kingdom (heaven).

My questions;

* Is taken dead bodies to the church good in the sight of God?

* Is the fate of the dead decided immidiately after death, or after they are burried?

* Can our sin be forgiven after death?

Ever heard of Pascal's Wager?
