Ask4bigneyo: banjicom: quest003:This post is late. I was just reading through the thread until I passed by the following posts. Please - urine, and breast milk are not part of the treatment guidelines for a patient with red eye. Urine passing through the urethra is not sterile and one is bound to introduce microorganisms into the eye. Same goes for breast milk - it is a potent culture medium for microorganisms and can cause more harm than good. Imagine you had a mere viral conjunctivitis which manifested as red eye. What do you think would happen when you use a gonococcal urine sample from a probable asymptomatic person to wash your eye? Pathetic. Also, that someone has a red eye does not mean he/she has conjunctivitis. What the OP narrated would most probably be a viral conj. because of the season, means of spread and the ease of cure. However, it is important to note that red eye doesn't mean one should go start using eye drops without medical guidance. Please let's be guided. One love. |

mubarak001:Bro are you sure about this?? As if that was not enough, I thought I was the only person going through that ordeal until my pals confirmed we were soldiers of same struggle. The struggle may be mouth odour. Invest in a good antibacterial mouth wash and a good cologne. Com back and give your testimony. |
The answer to your question lies in the word "insight''. Simply put, insight is the ability for you to know you have a problem and where the problem is. For example, if you're ill with malaria - you will have symptoms such as fever, headaches, malaise, body pain, vomiting etc. By the presence of your symptoms you will know you are ill and that you need help. This is insight. The people we call 'mad' have a psychiatric disease-most commonly it's schizophrenia. These psychiatric disease (like malaria) has symptoms like hallucinations, delusions and disorders of thought etc. When a 'mad' person is aware of these problems, it means he has insight and it is a potent indicator of a better prognosis. On the other hand, lack of insight in a psychiatric patient spells doom. In essence, what I'm saying is a 'mad' person can be aware that he has a mental problem. And this is good. because treatment would be easy. A 'mad' person can also not be aware of his OR her condition. This spells bad prognosis. The main problem is we don't even have health facilities to take care of the health needs of psychiatric patients to even know whether they have insight into their problem or not. Pathetically, the level of orientation of the general public to psychiatric conditions is appalling. People discriminate and look down on mental patients. Mental patients may be aware of their problem. They just need help and support. |
I wanted to take a similar path after mbbs. I did my research and realised it ain't worth it. don't try it...especially if you're considering Nigeria. Even outside the country, the future is bleak for BM engineers. I'm just being realistic. It could be different for you. |
Very legit. 26 is a good time to make that woman legally mine. |
how can one restrict background data on m2? |
please those that had provided their emails for the guide you residency document should expect it any second from now. I've been very busy with school work. Compliments of the season to everyone. |
AriDsexy:It would be very difficult to prove that. But even if it were true, it is a very grey area. I may not have an innate love for virgins, but sex with someone you love deeply is very 'sacred'. It's a bond that's meant to be only understood by the parties involved. I don't know what you know- but what I know is I would not be ale to hide my disregard, and discontentment for both any woman that falls into the unfortunate shoes of sleeping with another man to give me a 'life' and the 'life' she offers. It has set a very dangerous precedent for the relationship and is a wrong foundation to build any achievement on. It's honorable to lay down your life for someone. But before you think of it ask yourself if WHAT you're laying down your life for is worth it. The person may be worth it. The motive may be honorable. But the reason might be very dark. Forgiving is a different kettle of fish. |
MissMeiya:I'm very interested in this one. Please, if my entry deserved to be disqualified, I think it should still be done. Hopefully, there will be other opportunities in the future and lessons drawn from this experience will apply. Thank you. |
sayemma:Obviously there is phd and there is PhD. |
Too many questions. Too few answers. |
MissMeiya:A paragraph is more than just a pause. You did a very good job. There's no need going back and forth. I preferred to be silent on the observation until I read somewhere on this thread that it should be an annual contest. I may not be there next year but someone else may. And it would be unfair to that person if his/her paragraphing is tampered with and organization or adherence to topic is a judging criteria. I stand corrected if I'm wrong. An essay in organized into paragraphs and the opening sentence of each paragraph connects preceding paragraphs and subsequent ones. I noticed it in the submissions thread and would have commented on it earlier. I held my peace because you said that the judges are not looking at the submissions thread. Hence, I wrongly assumed that what I submitted was in the judges hands while the one on the submissions thread was a mere post. If I was wrong in pointing this out, I stand corrected and I tender my apologies without reservations. I'm used to the fact that life is not always about winning. You win some, you lose some - and you move on. I'm not trying to cause a stir over what has happened already- it's very unnecessary. I was just pointing it out for the sake of the future. That's all. |
I've never won an essay competition in my whole life. I've participated in so many essay competitions but it just never happens. While I leave my consistent good-luck to be much desired about in the private corners of my mind, my major aim of participating in this competition was to break that long streak of fall-outs in essay competitions and of course to revel in the undiluted pleasure of free Christmas money . Who no like better tin? ![]() I want to appreciate the organizers for this gesture. First, for conceiving the idea. Secondly, for making it work. Because, indeed it has. I live in a society where people will prefer to spend money on women, alcohol, more women, some more alcohol, fame, beauty pageants, pool parties, political meetings etc Nobody cares so much about the youth, what they think and what they can offer. Most of the youth are now chasing frivolities - some because that's what they're primarily driven towards. Secondly, because that's what almost everybody is headed. So organizers, you've done an awesome thing. To the participants, you are amazing. Whether you lifted your essay from Wikipedia, or you gave the organizers a draft of your PhD thesis - you are still amazing. Compared to the participation on Tonto Dike and Mr&Mrs Nairaland threads, you have indeed proven to be one of the remnants our society has. I say congratulations. To the first prize winner, I also want to say congratulations. My aim for participating was to win first prize- I didn't even know they were other prizes. This fellow deserves a medal. Other winners with and without prizes, congratulations. Finally, I think my score would have improved if my essay was left the way I submitted it. I wrote on a very grey area in the Nigerian health sector. Grey because painfully- that's not what the key players in the industry are after - but it is the ONLY answer to quality healthcare in Nigeria. So, I had organized my essay into paragraphs- 11 of them - with some paragraphs containing a SEPARATE THOUGHT RELATED TO THE TOPIC and the opening sentence of each paragraph introducing that thought. There was meant to be a flow which if absent would have the implication of non-adherence to topic and poor organization. When the judge kept saying I scored low on the adherence to topic , originality and organization category, I didn't believe until I checked the submissions thread to notice that my essay was paragraphed differently from the original one. It was now 6 paragraphs with the opening sentence of some paragraphs either being in the body of the essay or in the last line of the preceding paragraph. And if I were to read it for the first time from some other person, I would say the fellow has a good point but poorly organized. If this is intended to be an annual event, I would appeal that the paragraphing pattern of entries be left the way it is submitted. Asides from the content of thought expressed, the flow is important - especially when someone is writing on an unfamiliar territory. Once again, congratulations to everyone. One love. ![]() |
Who gives 0.5 fu-cks about BBA?? |
Qiewz11:Anyone you choose is fine. The second path is longer but sure if you have at least a 2.1. The first path is less probable and you must be a fighter to get in. |
sagaciousblog:It is possible. In fact, the sooner you do your US residency after school, the easier it is to get in. One should aim to have a maximum of 3 years post-graduation while applying. I studied the stats for the 2014 match and I discovered that most program directors For Nigeria, our graduation is after you've finished housemanship - not after you take your oath. I just wanted to make that clear for you and every other person. You can also benefit from the 'doctors guide to overseas training' by dropping ur mail if you do not already have it. |

Section 357 of the Criminal Code Act, CAP 77, LFN 1990 defines rape thus: “Any person who has unlawful carnal knowledge of a woman or girl, without her consent, or with her consent, if the consent is obtained by force or by means of false threats or intimidation of any kind, or by fear of harm, or by means of false or fraudulent representation as to the nature of the act, or in case of a married woman, by personating her husband is guilty of an offence called rape”. The Penal Code defines rapes as follows: “A man can be held guilty of rape if he has sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent, or with her consent, if consent was unlawfully obtained”. The United Nations (UN) defines it as; “Sexual intercourse without valid consent.” The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2002 defined it as; “Physically forced or otherwise coerced penetration – even if slight – of the vulva or anus, using a penis, other body parts or an object.” Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), “The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.” In summary, the forceful act of sex with ANYONE without consent is defined as rape- wife or not. |
