It is a specialty of medicine available only to graduates of medicine. If its not ophthalmology, it can never be like ophthalmology. |

Is it that men are not worried about respect and submissiveness like our fathers, forefathers, etc. The two sentences I quoted are contradicting themselves. It is those of you in your early 20s that should be more worried about respect and submissiveness. |

Eddymech: Am having been in deep thoughts for like 3weeks and have been wondering why my wife lied to me that she miscarried twice, while I was out of the country on an official purpose
Note We have a daughter together No pressure from me on getting pregnant I actually told her to wait till our daughter is 3 yrs old before she takes in again, she is yet to be 3
So she lied she was pregnant when she wasn't I have asked her over and over again why she had to lie All I get is tears or am truly sorry At first it was funny to me ,but now is no longer funny Focus on the bolded. The first bolded statement might have set the premise for the second. The second bolded statement looks more like a back-up story to the consequence of anything that might have happened during the course of the first. Anything. If it did happen, it would have been normal (married women got pregnant, hence it's their husband's child) But it didn't happen- now backup story is a lie. It would be easier to say : ask her why she lied. But then how are you sure you won't get another lie? Marriage is one funny institution. |

BedLam: With 31 percent of overall healthcare spending accounted for by the federal government in 2012 alone, Nigeria used infrastructure and systems already in place to fight polio, to contain Ebola.
. The Federal Government should be ashamed of this statistic. 31% of a nation's healthcare spending came from the government. The remaining 69% came from the pockets of Nigerians in 2012. Big shame. |

Beazy: Meanwhile, the head of the Nigeria Women League board Dilichukwu Onyedinma has said the player deserves a national award for her patriotic act. The Women’s league boss told Football live, a programme onBrila FM, that what Dike did was worth emulating by other players in the country. Why should she deserve a national award for making her personal choices? I don't understand some people. The national awards has been so desecrated that any microscopic act of perceived and actual worth is considered 'deserving'. There's nothing heroic in her decision. Mesut Ozil donated his World Cup bonus money for the surgeries of 11 Brazilian children. I'm not here to tell her how to use her money so this ain't no business of mine. |

alutacontinua: I didn't see that coming Actually, I never knew sickle cell patients suffer from priapism
Modified: Now that I checked, I see it's true, but there are other conditions associated with priapism too. The history is quite scanty, what makes you think it's sickle cell, and not G6PD deficiency
And for the dactylitis, isn't dactylitis inflammation of digits? -toes and fingers? Actually, the word 'swelling' makes peripheral edema to pop into my head at first glance I find the history quite scanty, but then-sometimes I shy away from these questions cos the pattern is totally different from what I'm used to I must admit, the history is very scanty. |

DrHesjay: Write a short and brief note on d structural basis of asthma.( D question was given in histology class). .
Please medics.. All d questions r assignments i have to submit by 7:45am tomorrow. I need ur opinions.
#lomaxx ebsuguy You would start by defining what asthma is( chronic inflammatory condition of airway resulting in reversible airway obstruction on exposure to an inciting stimuli) Then go on to say that the airway/lungs is organized into bronchi->terminal bronchioles-> respiratory bronchioles->alveolar duct->alv sac(acinus) as intro. Then go ahead to mention that the airway structure comprises of 1) mucosa(comprising of specialized epithelial cells that secrete mucus). In asthma, airway inflammation leads to hyper secretion of mucus and this leads to the airway obstruction in asthma. With time the mucosal epithelium detaches and coalesces with the mucus to form mucus plugs which narrow the airway. 2) bronchiolar smooth muscle which constricts to narrow the lumen further due to stimulation from inflammatory mediators secreted during an asthma episode. With time, the smooth muscle hypertrophy to further worsen the damage. 3) basement membrane which thickens also contributing to airway narrowing. |
