Hey there.

I'm still waiting for our pending chat - I hope it's gonna be a Long One tongue
Nah, the Long one refers to a particular body part, which has put on a hiatus, as the subject is currently living life the straight and narrow way  tongue

Prefer short and sharp, but can promise you the chat is guaranteed to blow your mind away, else your money back, lol.

However, the real questions remains, can you handle it? R u the 'she' that can match/surpass this mind’s intellectual prowess?

The man seems to be doing wonders in his state. Let’s hope he doesn’t let awards such as the OP’s get to his head.

This goes to show that not everyone in Nigeria needs to be corrupt to succeed. You can create the system; you don’t need to conform to the status quo.

pendo89:
Be the woman God expects you to be and play the role He expects you to play. He didn't make you to please the society but to impact it just the way you are.

Women who stress themselves like ur friend are those trying too hard to please the society and feel accepted. They keep changing to conform and fit but they fail to realise that by the time they have conformed, the society's standards have changed.

Truth is they will NEVER please the masses, no matter how much they try to conform bcz we all fall short and what is pleasing to another's eye is distasteful in another's.

Women/Men need to understand that there will always be greater looking people out there and so trying to be like them is vain cz the cycle will never end.

Finally if you find a man who is satisfied with you and what you do, then I see no need for stress. Others opinion cease to matter cz the person you share your life with accepts and loves you just as you are which is the best feeling anyway.
^^^now that’s a real woman right there. Read and learn.

The answer lies in your signature, know what they say about experience being the best teacher? Yes, different personalities as highlighted by Belbin (9 roles), Carl Jung (8 personalities), Myers Briggs (16 personalities), MTR-i (8 roles), etc. Thing is we all share similar traits, though varying a bit which is why some scholars have created more groups.

No need giving a dog a bad name or calling the kettle black. We all know our shortcomings as a Nation; I guess we can start by reorienting our young ones to prevent the next generation following their predecessor’s footsteps.

One thing I know is Nigerians are highly motivated and driven to succeed come what may, which in itself is a good thing that becomes bad when they use any means necessary.

The answer lies in our culture; our Government needs to take the initiative and create policies to influence this culture positively. Until they do that, we as concerned citizens need to put our young ones on the right path, even if it takes a whole lot of spanking.

Personally, whatever it takes to score (oops, me brain’s cd just skipped) rephrasing, if it makes her happy, then fine by me. Trouble with some African girls is they don’t appreciate the finer things in life (they too nigger-ish) and will look at you like a sucker. (Warning; opening doors are to be done at your own discretion)

As someone once put it, a woman is like a job application, you have to tailor your CV (yourself) to match the job description (her girlie feelings/fantasies of what a man should be) – for them softies, or colonise her using more aggressive strategies – applicable to them ghetto ones.

It wasn’t so much the pleasures of this world that enticed me as such. It was the rehearsal and mimicking that I grew tired of (truth be told I wasn’t a “true” believer more just a “follower” and it wasn’t of my own choosing which made me question the sincerity in my supposed conviction).
After all it was not my own belief it was my parents belief in which I never inherited sadly for them. I never formed such notions independently to be confident enough to call myself a true "Christian" when I was being moulded into one.
Besides I don’t believe faith is hereditary so I’ve embarked on my own personal journey. And on the contrary I am not easily seduced by the pleasures of this world if anything I was seeking for something otherworldly and for me – religion (more so an involuntary one) cannot seal the hole I wanted to fill. Spiritualism over materialism any day.
Okay, just be careful. I have been down that road; I delved deep into spirituality because I was looking for answers and in the process, almost got lost, still many things I know today that I wish I didn’t. I believe now that most of the answers will be revealed after lights out, so no need to search.

I feel you should try your parent’s method first, but try it for yourself. In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche ‘…if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you’ so when you seek something different, it changes you. This change could either lead you into darkness, or lead you into the light.

A 60 something year old Englishman told me when he was young, the Teachers showed them all the Countries in Africa by their resources, so the ambitious ones would enlist in the army, go off conquer some lands + resources, bring the spoils back to England, get rewarded with Land/Property/Titles and live happily ever after.

Sadly, this has not changed, just the strategies employed, as it’s now things like IMF, NATO, using vigilante/rebel groups to topple unfavourable governments, e.t.c.

mickey jag:
The sun has set on the West.
You see, Western economies have basically become a bunch of Las Vegas casino, smoke-and-mirror type economies whose creditors want their money back. You cannot sustain a lie forever. Already, the anarchists are out in force in central Madrid and Athens. Ditto Ireland, Iceland, Italy and Portugal. Britain and the US are not far behind.

So then, after their “economies” are gone, what will they have been left with? Granted, Africans will still be dirt poor, but if things get bad, we just go back to our villages and grow tomatoes, I would not be surprised to see Africa's recent past become Europe's future. What an irony of history if that happens.

Their is a peculiar system in this world that defines any lazy bum White person living in Africa as an “expatriate”, while a hard working African medical doctor in America, a Green Card holder and an Ivy League graduate, will forever be seen as an illegal immigrant, a sponger and a coon, just an evolved monkey. Rest assured though, that system can’t last very long.

The bigger picture to the Africans in the Diaspora; be wise……. Already, the evil messages of fascist politicians like Geert Wilders, Pauline Hanson, the BNP, and the Vlaam Bloek, et al, are once again resonating with Westerners. Barrack Obama was a onetime bleep on the radar-even if he miraculously gets a second term, which I doubt he will. Better get your fourty acres and a mule before the next Pogrom, genocide and mass-murdering dictatorship finds you unprepared. After all, the last one happened only 60 years ago, and 6 million Jews were slaughtered……….be wise………
Chop knuckle for the last paragraph bro, that is the gameplan.

We can agree that there is some truth in what he says, but we do not have to agree with all he is saying. We cannot also ignore the man's motives nor can we ignore his hypocrisy (Mugabe's lifestyle is awash with British influences) and wickedness towards his own people.

Family members disagree with one another all the time, it is not always a symptom of some external "divide and conquer" force.

If we are still divided, let's not kid ourselves that it is some puppet master in the West that is doing it. Many other regions have been let loose into the world economic and political playing field and are faring way better than we are. Why is the West not dividing and conquering them?
True talk, but it’s about time we checkmate some of their activities. We give them tickets to ‘access all areas’ without monitoring their activities be it Tax, bioremediation, e.t.c.

As for being divided, that’s my whole point, our leaders have been brainwashed by them at one point in time or another (you rightly mentioned Mugabe and his British influence), so the plan should be to unite and reduce this influence, then we can focus on creating our own system, devoid of Western influence. Unfortunately, to unite seems to be our biggest problem.

No my radio frequency never carried that information, it only told me he had Golden guns, Private jets laden with golden accesories, gold plates, spoons etc. If you are still a kid, know that African vast resources will not affect the development of the citizens if a leader blieves he has only the know how to rule a nation for decades and his greed, and once you raise an eye brow then you are an enemy and not fit to live by his personal constitution. You are living in another mans country right, just because that man was not greedy to his own people instead of looting monies for developing his people he chose to use it to develop his country. If they were like our leaders i blieve you will be in afganistan studying.
Typical, why am I not surprised? It means you still have a lot to learn.

I never said he was a saint, heck, I don’t even like the man, all I meant was he made a good point and as usual instead agreeing on something, you are busy fighting amongst yourselves.

Even in the West, when something goes wrong, they find the root cause, not continue ahead as if nothing happened – relating to Mugabe’s comment on looking into events behind Libya’s National Transitional Council. Else, how do you think they continually improve themselves? You can only prevent future mistakes by looking at what went wrong in the past.

Ask yourself this question, with the Economic recession in the west, why the continued interest in Africa? Is it out of the abundance of their hearts, as they love doing humanitarian work? Does the answer lie in Africa’s rich resources?

This is the Old folktale lies used by our greedy fore fathers in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. so you too are transferring this to your generation( i pity you in jamaica). Nobody is dividing anybody, becos of greed i, as ur brother will do everything to see your downfall just because of greed, i wont stop at that, even go to the extent of framing you up just to collect your wife- the whites are responsible for that too abi. So my, ur, our problem is that the foundation of our continent is laid on self and self = greed. We can not move just because of what we want for ourselves alone not what we can do for our brothers. So development comes through each one contributing something to the devopment of the society atlarge.

During the Fuel subsidy all our governos were so quick to jump at it just because of what they wanted from the federal government calling the people dogs that they never wanted development. why cant they find something to add rather take. So i guess the Whites are responsible for that too. I shake my head in korean
Funny you, this was one of the strategies we were taught to use when dealing with opposition. Yes, it was a UK University.

It just means you know little about World politics. Our differences and greed aside, with our vast natural resources, do you honestly think it will profit them if Africa steps up it’s game? Did you read about Gaddafi’s plan to trade in Gold instead of the Dollar?

Speaking of African unity, you’all cannot even unite on a public forum; talk less of a country.

The west use that age-old trick of ‘divide and conquer’, apparently, it still works for them as you cannot for once lay down your grievances and agree that the man said something right.
FamilyRe: Is A Factor In Choosing A Spouse Based On How Potential Children May Look Like? by LongOne1(m): 1:26pm On Feb 02, 2012
To some, it is, particularly if the marriage is more of a contract or an arranged one, alternatively one borne out of necessity.

Using a personal example, my Aunt, apparently in my best interests (I am in my twenties), decided to find a wife for me. She hooked me up with someone in 2010, luckily for me; I had a good excuse to escape. She found someone again this year, and when I researched the girl she had in mind, I discovered she was as short as the previous one. (Small stout bottle)

I asked her playfully why she sees fit I marry a short girl, her reply was simple; since you are Tall (6’ 5”), if you marry a short girl, the kids will just be about right. As you can imagine, I am plotting my next great escape, lol.

FamilyRe: Is Marriage Worth It For Guys? by LongOne1(m): 2:57pm On Feb 01, 2012
Oga, I am a bit worried about you because you have outdated notions of marriage. Nobody is EVER going to get a marriage like their grandparents except they live in a remote village in Damaturu. The social insitution of marriage is dramatically different from what it used to be and cultural expectations are also vastly different.

First, we now have divorce and if you live in the West like I do, divorce is a life-changing and financially catastrophic event for the man. Typically she gets 50% of your net worth + alimony + child support. It's a devastating proposal and men are wise to tread cautiously. You will be a fool if some woman carts off with all the fruits of your hard-earned labor. Even your family members will look at you with pity and warn their children not to be like you. Yes, I have seen it happen many, MANY, times.

Second, women are now empowered and free. While this is a wonderful development for everybody, what it means in practical terms is that you might put 110% into your relationship but it won't make the woman stay because she is independent and can just up and out anyhow she likes. To the woman, you're just a living and breathing call option; she'll exercise that option only if your worth rises to meet her strike price. Otherwise, she is out. Today's marriage vows are for better and for better; these days "for worse" is confessing negative. Now, I am not advocating that women stay in unhappy marriages but the problem is that the woman can leave for WHATEVER reason she likes. She doesn't even have to give a convincing reason beyond the vague excuse of "irreconcilable differences." Her definition of "difference" could very well be, "I have found someone richer"

Your garden analogy is really cute but cuteness if for little children. Have you ever heard of infertile grounds? Or plants that are especially susceptible to disease? You might garden as much as you want and still fail miserably. That mistake will cost you half a million dollars minimum, please. And while you're making payments, please keep your hands away from any fruits and flowers because she has got custody! Now, fcking roger that!

Successful young men in the West have EVERY incentive to wait and tread super-cautiously. Otherwise, they had better pony-up for a good lawyer and an iron-clad pre-nup. In the meanwhile, they can play in the garden of delight, sampling different flowers and squirrelling away assets in off-shore accounts where the future Mrs. can't touch it. At least, that's my plan.
Oya! Kill me!
You raised valid points there, albeit a bit depressing.

Having said that, the difference between you and me is; I know I need to get married. From your last paragraph, the title of the thread should be ‘Marriage is not worth it for guys’ as you are not asking a question, rather looking for people to support your conclusion of ‘a wayward lifestyle is the way to go, as marriage has too many risks’.

Moreover, do I smell a ch-ch-chicken somewhere? lol
