It's the new reality in most parts of the world.

Smaller quantities in packs of detergent, chocolate, breakfast cereals, biscuits, etc while prices are retained or increased.

WHO IS AN EXPERT IN WASHING MACHINEs HERE...

Is Hisense reliable? It seems to be the cheapest amongst all 3 (it, LG and Haier Thermocool)
Would be a better buy obviously, but I don't know how good it is? They said at the 2 places I went to price them That LG is Also the manufacturer/patent company...
Pls who has used it for a long Time, Is it as good and durable as LG?

Also Haier Thermocool, is that a reliable durable brand too? Who has used it for long
My Haier Thermocool washing machine has been giving satisfactory service since 2013. It's a basic washer.

Turned to the brand after two Samsung washers I used couldn't be fixed when they had issues, each within five years of use.

There's nothing like using soothing words to encourage a student. The use of corporal punishment is sick!

Na govt schools own bad pass. Frustrated teachers go dey descend on children like goat.

Flogging won't make them learn, it only instills unnecessary fear in them. Nigeria's educational system needs to be overhauled.
Wetin don come out since the flogging start? No be say we dey top for science or technology in the world sef! Pathetic!!! angry
Reminds me of my daughter in Primary Three in a university private school. The new Math teacher believed that caning was the best way to get the subject matter into the children's heads.

I ached for my child as I took her through her homework because I could sense her fear about being caned the next day.

I was also worried that she would develop a phobia for Math.

Happily, we had to relocate and in the new environment, she was able to thrive. Math is her best subject today.

I'm not against caning because I am from the generation that grew up with caning at home, and in school when your crimes had exceeded detentions. Abuse via caning is what I disapprove of.

In this child's case, I wonder if he had an underlying condition that the caning triggered.

May the Lord comfort his parents.

There are cases of teenagers and adolescents having diabetes.

If you have read the comments made, and reviewed the pictures shared by Nairalanders in the medical field, you should know that your next step is to see the doctors at a teaching hospital or Federal Medical Centre.
Please do it quickly.

I am also in this dilemma. Wifey has been very sick and managing so CE over six years now. Though she goes to work (health officer).

Her mother who was very caring and understanding fell ill last year and has been with us since last April.

Though, we have someone who comes around to clean and take care of the house and they pay is on MIL. (She's a retired civil servant)

Mama has four children. My wifey is third and has a younger brother who for married last year.

MIL's first born is divrcee with three children in their hometown.

He second born lives on the same city with us lives in a rented 2 bedroom apartment with her husband and four children. MIL stayed in her place for two months before she's dumped with us. ( Heard she's been maltreated by her daughter and SIL)

My wifey the third born has been battling with ulcer since over six years and has grown lean. We are family of five living in two bedroom rented apartment. Gave one to mama.
Despite the fact that someone comes around to clean and help and goes back when done, wifey still does a lot of work taking care of her. At times I feel pity for her, with her health condition.

Last born who's ismale also lives in the same with us but claims he can't accommodate mama cos he lives in a room and parlor self contained apartment. He's been so supportive ensuring we lack nothing. He's in charge of Mama's account and drops money regularly for upkeeps. He also comes around at least thrice a week to check mama.

My problem is my wifey's health. She isn't fine and still takes care of her ailing mother.

I don't want to sound like I don't want my MIL around. My children are still young (first being 7yo and last 4yo). The small wahala is taking toll on my wifey.

Don't know how to say it even to my wifey that mama should leave so as to take care of herself.
I don't want to sound ingrate or so.
Can you get a live-in helper that can be paid from mama's income? She should take care of mama and give your wife relief.

I'm sure mama appreciates being part of a family. Try to take the weight off your wife by getting hands to help out.

FoodRe: Ugu Leaves Juice As Blood Tonic: How True Is It? by lorhema(f): 3:47pm On Apr 14, 2022
It's effective. The last time I gave birth, I wasn't ready to take the risk of taking the blood transfusion I required. My doctor prescribed some meds that would boost my blood in about 3 weeks.

When a friend visited me at home, she advised me to take Ugu juice like her aunts made her do after each delivery.

I drank the juice regularly and my readings shot up.

It was so bitter that I had to be committed to taking it. I didn't know you could make it more palatable.

It could be the light switch. The problem only recently developed right? Try change of the light switch and see. If the problem persist, you may need to rewire and EARTH the property properly.

I am not an electrician. Not even close.
Thank you for this response. Since one switch controls all of the exterior lights on the house and another, all the lights on the gatehouse, we couldn't understand why single bulbs misbehaved out of many.

We will look to having the house earthed properly.

Thank you again.
PropertiesRe: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by lorhema(f):
Good morning friends.

I seek your counsel for the electrical issue we have. The house wiring is 3-phase but we use a single-phase meter.

A couple of months ago, there was a 4- day blackout on our estate because of a major fault. To our shock, two of the outside lights/ bulbs continued to shine and gradually waned till they went off after two days. One is on the gatehouse and the other on the house.

We have been wondering what the issue is.

Then, last week, we found that a ceiling light in the kitchen wouldn't go off when the switch was turned off. It would either start blinking or stay lit. About 15minutes later, it would go off on its own.

Please advise on what the cause of the malfunction could be and what should be done.

Thank you for your response.

ImaIma1:
This inlaw and wife thing will always be that way, especially when the man's family sees the wife as an outsider that came to interrupt their family.

You can't come to my house with your nose raised and with obvious lack of love for me and you expect me to be free with you. It can't happen. I will just avoid you for peace sake.

It's not about being an inlaw or not. It is more about the character and attitude of people involved. I know people that are close to their MILs than their own mums.

I have an inlaw who goes straight to the pot when she's around. We are so close that she will help herself with any food she sees. Na beg I dey beg her. cheesy. But some inlaws won't even be able to try it because of their wicked hearts.

But here, you guys expect the women to treat their inlaws like their family, when the family doesn't treat her like their daughter. If they see her as a family member, they won't try to find wrong when they visit. They would rather cover up.

This topic set don dey tire person.
This is, I believe, the crux of the matter. The wife, having been treated as as outsider or unwanted guest, feels no need to care or look out for her in-laws.

Meanwhile, some in-laws believe that they have full rights in their brother's
home and disregard the iyawo's rights in her own home.

The situation the OP posted is created.
Dealing with it will require walking back to the beginning and righting the wrongs.
