Properties / Re: How Do I Catch The Perpetrators? by lorhema(f): 12:00pm On Jun 21, 2023
I'm sorry about your loss.

This kind of theft is pretty common. I learnt about it here on Nairaland when people talked about their experiences.
Then it happened to us. All our Nigercables were removed.

I felt the way you do but took comfort in the fact that other people had had similar experiences and overcame the challenge.

We added razor wire to the fence and put a security man there.

Who doesn't know him as a legendary thief with his Sapati in Ilorin and several other proceeds of crime using foot soldiers like the one that died mysteriously recently. This man is sick and there should be a case study on him to be part of curriculum for any study on corruption, crime and fraud in and out of Nigeria. He deserves a permanent place in history of kleptocracy.

He is a very greedy man. Over 25 years ago, he threw a tantrum and walked out of a meeting, never to return, because he felt he should get a cut of the contracts that were being approved.

It wasn't a good sight and one isn't surprised that his story is like this.

IPPIS?
I believe they are a scam setup.

I know someone who did not get his salary for two months in 2020. His salary slip however showed that he was paid - through a Heritage Bank account! He has no business with Heritage Bank. UBA is his bank.

He hasn't been paid despite writing repeated letters to them on the matter.

This story just confirms the criminal activities I believed were going on in that office.

Her news casting was awful. Surely NTA can get better speakers of Yoruba.

Politics / Re: Reps Ask INEC To Delist Voters Who Didn’t Vote In Recent Polls From Register by lorhema(f): 9:55am On May 05, 2023
I know some older people couldn't vote because their polling units were far away from their homes. The distance was too much for them to walk.

Perhaps INEC could devote some time to reviewing such issues so that older people are not denied their right to vote.

Good day brethren.

Thanks to Diordaves, Topsy23, and Twinskenny for your advice when I complained about lightbulbs which didn't go off.

We got an electrician to review the earthing and it was found to be a very poor job.

The rod was beginning to rust! Weren't the rods meant to be made of copper?

He added another rod, charcoal and cowdung and closed things up.

Then we turned the lights on and off. The two bulbs stayed on. By swapping them with other bulbs, he was able to show us that the two bulbs were to blame.

It was a relief.

There was absolutely no need to abuse this child till she killed her.

Those scars tell the horrible story of her life in the household.

She might have been a difficult, even stubborn, maid but should never have been treated the way you wouldn't treat your own children.

All the madam needed to do was send her back to her parents.

Stop regurgitating rubbish from a disgusting rag like the mail. British media will sell their mothers for a titilating story no matter how ludicrous. Harry and Meghan have left the royal family. They have no intention of returning and certainly now more than ever, they value their independence and freedom from such toxicity. Now that the queen has died I hope they never have to return to that nest of vipers. The only people it is paining are a section of the british public and the media, who can't seem to allow this young couple be. Leave them alone. They've moved on. I suggest the rest of you do, too.

Thank you for this. I always wonder why our media regurgitate the obvious untruths published by British tabloids.

Avoid buying things from most roadside supermarket or stores. Even drinks, most especially drinks. Go to any ShopRite or Everyday supermarket near you or any legit Mart.

We bought the biggest bottle of BAMA mayonnaise from the biggest supermarket in our location and found it tasted off and was discoloured.

When we checked the label, we found that it was packaged by a company in Lagos! We returned it for a refund and will never buy the brand again.

I'd advise that people should read the label for information on the place of manufacture if they must buy BAMA mayonnaise.

NYSC / Re: The Massive Corruption At The Government Hospital Where I Did My NYSC: Ex Corper by lorhema(f): 11:23am On Aug 16, 2022
Sad. This is a picture of the corruption that goes on in various spheres of our lives as Nigerians. Right from our schools.

Only the knowledge and fear of God can stop a person from going along with the drift. It's sometimes overwhelming.

One thing is sure: we shall account to our Master one day.

In the meantime, let us brighten the corner where He has placed us.

WHO IS AN EXPERT IN WASHING MACHINEs HERE...

Is Hisense reliable? It seems to be the cheapest amongst all 3 (it, LG and Haier Thermocool)
Would be a better buy obviously, but I don't know how good it is? They said at the 2 places I went to price them That LG is Also the manufacturer/patent company...
Pls who has used it for a long Time, Is it as good and durable as LG?

Also Haier Thermocool, is that a reliable durable brand too? Who has used it for long

My Haier Thermocool washing machine has been giving satisfactory service since 2013. It's a basic washer.

Turned to the brand after two Samsung washers I used couldn't be fixed when they had issues, each within five years of use.

There's nothing like using soothing words to encourage a student. The use of corporal punishment is sick!

Na govt schools own bad pass. Frustrated teachers go dey descend on children like goat.

Flogging won't make them learn, it only instills unnecessary fear in them. Nigeria's educational system needs to be overhauled.
Wetin don come out since the flogging start? No be say we dey top for science or technology in the world sef! Pathetic!!! angry

Reminds me of my daughter in Primary Three in a university private school. The new Math teacher believed that caning was the best way to get the subject matter into the children's heads.

I ached for my child as I took her through her homework because I could sense her fear about being caned the next day.

I was also worried that she would develop a phobia for Math.

Happily, we had to relocate and in the new environment, she was able to thrive. Math is her best subject today.

I'm not against caning because I am from the generation that grew up with caning at home, and in school when your crimes had exceeded detentions. Abuse via caning is what I disapprove of.

In this child's case, I wonder if he had an underlying condition that the caning triggered.

May the Lord comfort his parents.
