Agriculture / Re: Picture: Grapes Grown And Harvested In Nigeria by lorhema(f): 2:18pm On Jan 23, 2019 |
I'm trying to grow grapes here in Jos. Yet to get fruits. It's almost three years since the vines were planted. A visitor told me about a lady who grows grapes in her Kaduna yard. So I guess they can be grown in many parts of Nigeria. |

Ausguta: The standard passport is the green one and is available to all Nigerians. The official passport is blue and used by officials of the government; officers of the various ministries, departments and agencies whose assignments require international travel. 1 Like |
Crime / Re: Lady Tricked Into Taking One-way, Extorted Of N26k In Lagos by lorhema(f): 9:37am On Jan 22, 2019 |
GeorgeTheCoder: I remember when DH came home vibrating because he had asked some Yaba local government staff for directions only to be led to take a road and was then arrested. They said it was a one-way road. They then asked for a bribe but he refused to pay and insisted he would only pay at the office. He did this but was bitter, still is, that agents of the state could deceive a citizen like that. |

Properties / Re: Which Product Is Best In Washing Machine by lorhema(f): 3:17pm On Jan 14, 2019 |
I used 2 Samsung washing machines in 9 years. The first one malfunctioned and the replacement part was unavailable. I liked the Samsung product so I bought another. Same story. I got a Haier Thermocool. It's a basic machine that gets the job done. We are clocking 6 years and I should be able to get the spares if they are needed. I'd suggest you go for the HT. 1 Like |
Family / Re: I Need Advise On Best Way To Handle My In-laws by lorhema(f): 3:00pm On Jan 08, 2019 |
Eketem: Very good advice. Almost three decades ago, there was this brother who believed I would be his wife. Over time, we talked about our hopes and expectations. One day, he told me that my income would take care of our family while he would use his income to take care of a family that was very good to him and had lost the father. I didn't say anything but became unavailable for anything beyond greetings. A few years ago, we met. We are both married and his wife had a medical condition he wanted some information about. Along the line, I couldn't help asking him if he carried out his plan to fend for another family while his wife carried the weight of theirs. He responded that he was immature when he had that plan. Courtship is the time to sound yourselves out. No surprises. 11 Likes |

Politics / Re: Yellow Fever: Obaseki Gets Vaccinated, Leads Campaign Against Disease In Edo by lorhema(f): 9:39pm On Dec 20, 2018 |
IYANGBALI: They showed up at our church and said 9 months to 44years. Later we were told it had been extended to 59 years. Apparently they didn't want to return to base with the vaccines. So we went to be vaccinated. But when the cards were issued they insisted on stating our ages as 44 even though none of us who took the vaccine later was less than 50 years old. Our queries did not count. So we had the vaccination but the cards we have state wrong ages for us. Can we really trust the data and statistics from these exercises? 2 Likes |

Romance / Re: Can You Marry A Lady Who Doesn't Know How To Cook Because Of Love? by lorhema(f): 5:03pm On Dec 19, 2018 |
PrettySleek: Your view makes sense. I believe it's important for a man to know how to cook. Unfortunately, even in this day and age, talking with some women, I find that in spite of their education, they feel their sons shouldn't cook but should do other things around the house. Some of these ideas are carryovers from their cultures. So there will be some men who don't know how to cook because they didn't have the opportunity to learn to do it. I think you might miss something if you insist on ticking that box. My beloved didn't know how to cook but he is no longer a stranger in the kitchen. When I'm tired, he helps out. He's not like my dad who shopped and cooked but he has tried. You can help your man to understand why he needs to know how to cook and then teach him to cook especially in the early days of marriage when there's just the two of you. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
