Properties / Re: Best Way To Prevent Water From Sipping Into Your Building Through The Floors by lorhema(f): 1:45pm On Sep 08, 2019 |
I observed, on holidays as a child, that houses in the city where we spent time had high foundations. We always climbed up stairs to the entrance door. Later, I realised that the high foundations were adopted to avoid rising damp issues. We adopted this practice in one of our buildings in a town where rising damp is an issue in many houses. The engineer who gave us some assistance said he was just being educated about the practice. You do everything @Op has stated and add the height of your foundation. It's expensive but pays off in the long run because you don't have issues of damp. |

Good evening brethren. We requested a ride on Uber this morning but the driver's profile did not have his car license plate details. We cancelled immediately. Although we tried to contact Uber, there wasn't an option to click to report such an incident. This evening, we have been able to get the 400 naira cancellation fee reversed. I don't understand how a driver can operate on Uber without license plate details on his profile. Especially when riders can report when the plate number of the car that arrives is different from the one on the driver's profile. Can anyone explain what happened this morning? I think it is an issue of rider security. |

Ryan03: The fact that she had a son for her late husband means that she should seek to maintain relations with her in-laws, I believe. The boy should have a link to his father's people especially in this season when some step parents have been shown to be mean to their step children and their partners say or do nothing. It's her life and since she's pregnant, she's made her decision. She should just seek to give the child some access to his father's family. ' |

Crime / Re: Man Robbed After Giving A Stranger A Lift In Lagos (Photos) by lorhema(f): 10:57am On Jul 18, 2019 |
TheWrita: In the nineties, a friend at church gave me a ride to church. He told me of a bad experience he had had. He had given a young woman a lift on his way to church and was to drop her at Masha. When he stopped the car so she could alight, she told him to give her money. My friend said he was shocked at her demand. He said he rebuked her and she coolly told him that if he didn't give her the money she wanted, she would create a scene and tell people he slept with her and didn't want to pay up! My gentle friend said he paid up. And would never give any stranger a lift again. |
