Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, has explained why he cannot criticize Boko Haram.
Kanu disclosed that Boko Haram members were peaceful people before the Nigerian Army and the police started killing them.

Akwa ibom state government under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel has reiterates the commitment of government towards promoting healthy and safe environment for residents and investors
The Commissioner of Environment, Sir Charles Udoh stated this in his keynote address at the first- ever workshop on environmental health standards organised by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Nigerian Environmental Society, yesterday at Watbridge Hotel, Uyo.
He said the rationale behind the workshop was to educate food and hospitality operators on the new environmental health standards needed to effectively run their businesses to ensure safety of citizens
" The present administration led by His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel placed priority attention on the safety of our environment and promotes healthy living among citizens . As we all know, our environment begins with us, the people, so we reasoned that one of the ways of keeping us safe is to educate us on the set out environmental health standard needed to run our business effectively without having to endanger one's health."
Sir Udoh who expressed satisfaction at the turnout, stated that the workshop which has become a reality was but a dream few weeks ago. In his conviction, he believed that now is the time to revive the environmental health programme of government which has gone extinct for decades.
The Environment Helmsman also used the occasion to restate government commitment to ending illegal dredging in the state. He revealed that the initial plan of government was not to prosecute offenders, but to show them reasons why they should desist from their illegal activities which poses great threat to the environment, destroying critical infrastructures in the state. He further said that the plan changed when government encountered resistance and threats from offenders.
The Commissioner advised food and hospitality operators in the state to adhere to the environmental health standards as strict enforcement of environmental health guidelines will commence soon across the state.
Chairman, Nigeria Environmental Society, Akwa Ibom state Chapter. Prof. Comfort Etok, who gave a paper presentation on the basic food safety rules, said that on a yearly basis about one million two hundred thousand people (1.2m) die from food borne diseases or chemicals exposed to food. She said that to minimize or eradicate this menace, food and hospitality operators must follow food safety rules.
Also , Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Hotels Management and Tourism Board, Mr. Ini Akpabio commended the state government and the Commissioner for Environment for organizing such an important and sensitive workshop. He opined that considering the danger posed to human health through unsafe food consumption, it was apposite for the government and other critical agencies to meet with the food and hospitality operators towards chatting a new paradigm.
Dignitaries who graced the the occasion included Federal Controller, Akwa ibom state, Federal Ministry of Environment, Dr. Sunday Ntoidem, the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Orman Esin, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr. Nsudoh Nsudoh, the Vice Chancellor of Uniuyo, who was represented by Dr. Aniekeno Elijah, Dr. Kufre Essien, Mr. Ekaette Ekaette, representative from NAFDAC, environmental health officers, eateries/hotel operators amongst others.
The workshop which was supported by Zenith Bank Plc, was tagged "setting new higher standard in Environmental Health", draws participants from hotels, eateries , restaurants, lounges operators as well as other persons in related areas. At the end of the workshop, participants were duly certified.

Apeshy102: Life may never remain the same for Mr Emmanuel Iloabuchi Iloanya after the Officer in Charge of Awkuzu Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Mr. James O. Nwafor and his men allegedly killed his son Mr Chijioke Iloanya without getting justice.
Mr Iloanya in a telephone chat with News9naija recounts how his son was arrested and gruesomely killed in cold blood by one Mr Jame O. Nwafor, now a retired police officer attached to Awkuzu SARS who led his boys to a naming ceremony and arrested attendees which many of the arrested never made it out alive, unfortunately, Mr Chijioke John Ilonanya was amongst those who never made it out alive.
Upon learning about his arrest, on November 31, 2012, Mr Illoanya in company of his wife went to the Awkuzu Police Station were they met their son in handcuff, though they saw him there, they were driven out of the police station.
Unsettled with the proceedings, Mr Iloanya proceeded to the office of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police where he met the Commissioner and his deputy. Upon narrating his sons ordeal to them, they promised him that nothing would happen to his son, but this promised was never fulfilled.
Upon his subsequent visit to the commissioner, Mr Nwafor was summoned but never showed up.
It was on his visit to the Commissioner's office in January 2013 that the Deputy Commissioner of Police told him of his son's death.
Mr Iloanya proceeded to the Awkuzu SARS office where he met Mr James Nwafor. Upon request for his son's whereabouts, Mr Nwafor told him, "Go, I have wasted your son". This insensitive statement didn't go down well with Mrs Iloanya as she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital upon hearing what Mr Nwafor said.
Mr Iloanya didn't stop there, he went on to seek justice for his slain son, if not for anything but to at least retrieve his corpse from the SARS.
He met one, Rt Col. Emmanuel Udechukwu (now Late), a human right activist through who Mr Iloanya delivered the sum N1.5M to the Awkuzu SARS but nothing came forth.
Till now, Mr Iloanya has not set eyes on his son nor his corpse.
Mr Iloanya is calling on the Nigerian Police Force, NGOs and well meaning Nigerian to help him get justice for his son. He said, "I know that my son is dead, but i just want justice"

And then the man goes silent. More people begin to intervene and call for the officer or his partner to check for a pulse. The officer remains on the man's neck, even as he lay apparently unresponsive, for a total of about eight minutes before paramedics arrive and the man is placed on a stretcher.
"The man looked already dead before the ambulance even got there. He was clearly trying to tell them he couldn’t breathe and they ignored him," Darnella Frazier, one of the people who filmed the incident, told NBC News.
NBC News does not know what happened before the video recording began.
Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump said in a statement that he was representing the family of the man, whom he identified as George Floyd.
"We all watched the horrific death of George Floyd on video as witnesses begged the police officer to take him into the police car and get off his neck. This abusive, excessive and inhumane use of force cost the life of a man who was being detained by police for questioning about a non-violent charge," Crump said.
"We will seek justice for the family of George Floyd, as we demand answers from the Minneapolis Police Department," Crump added. "How many 'while black' deaths will it take until the racial profiling and undervaluing of black lives by police finally ends."
A statement from the Minneapolis Police Department released early Tuesday said the officers had responded to a report of a forgery in progress and found the suspect in his car. He stepped out of the car when he was ordered to, police said, but then physically resisted officers.
"Officers were able to get the suspect into handcuffs and noted he appeared to be suffering medical distress," the statement said. "Officers called for an ambulance. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance where he died a short time later."
Initially, police said that the department had called in the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to independently investigate. A short time later, the department announced the FBI would also be investigating.
"We put out the information that we believed to be wholly honest and true. As we dug into it deeper, we realized that in fact it would be appropriate to have the FBI be apart of this investigation as well," said the department's director of public information, John Elder.
Police Chief Medaria Arradondo added during a news conference Tuesday morning, "There was additional information that I had received, quite frankly, from a community source that just provided more context than what I had preliminarily, originally." This prompted him to get the FBI involved "knowing that there could be a question of civil rights."
Federal agents were on the ground, Arradondo said. Body camera video was available, but has not been made public. Police said no weapons were used by anyone involved in the incident.
He said the officers involved were on paid leave. Neither of the officers in the video have been identified by the police.
The Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis said it supported the involved officers, who were cooperating with the investigation.
"Now is not the time rush to judgement and immediately condemn our officers," a statement from the organization said. "We must review all video. We must wait for the medical examiner’s report."
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said investigators would like to speak with anyone who recorded or witnessed the incident. The bureau would be sharing its findings with the FBI and presenting the completed investigation to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for review.
"What we saw was horrible, completely and utterly messed up," Mayor Jacob Frey said of the video during the news conference. "I believe what I saw, and what I saw was wrong at every level."
"This man's life matters," Frey said. "He should not have died, he was a human being and his life mattered. ... Whatever the investigation reveals, it does not change the single truth that he should be with us this morning."
"Being black in America should not be a death sentence," Frey said. "When you hear someone calling for help, you are supposed to help, and this officer failed in the most basic human sense."
A protest was planned for Tuesday night at the scene of the incident. Frey encouraged protestors to express their anger, but asked them to do so safely and while social distancing.
Jovanni Thunstrom, the owner of Conga Latin Bistro, said Floyd had worked there as a security guard for more than five years. He said Floyd was also a friend and had been a tenant of his.
He wrote on Facebook that he first saw the video and later found out the person who died was Floyd. He said he was writing the post through teary eyes.
"My employee George Floyd was murdered by a police officer that had no compassion, used his position to commit a murder of someone that was begging for his life," Thunstrom wrote.
Thunstrom asked people who remembered the "gentle giant," who worked as a security guard at the Minneapolis bar and restaurant, to "please stand with us."
"Everyone who knows him knew he loved his hugs from his regulars when working as a security guard and would be mad if you didn’t stop to greet him because he honestly loved seeing everyone and watching everyone have fun," Thunstrom wrote on Facebook.
In a statement, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. said, "Justice must be served for this man and his family, justice must be served for our community, and justice must be served for our country."
"We heard his repeated calls for help. We heard him say over and over again that he could not breathe," Klobuchar said. "And now we have seen yet another horrifying and gut-wrenching instance of an African American man dying."

In a bid to reposition the economy of Cross River State following the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, the state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has announced tax exemption for low income owners including okada and taxi riders, food vendors popularly known as mama put, small barbing shop owners, farmers, hotels with less than 50 rooms and others, Igbere TV reports.
The governor who struggled to hold his emotion said if God should take all he has to make the people of the State rich, he and his family can sacrifice it all.
In a video obtained by Igbere TV, the governor expressed dissatisfaction that despite instructions from his office that tax officials should not collect tax from petty traders, it is observed in the breach.
He said his dream for the state when he took over as governor has not been fully actualised, maintaining that it has not met his expectation.
He wondered why people who are struggling to make living for themselves without government's assistance should be asked to pay tax even with the growing economic downturn, calling on the people to report harassment from tax authorities to the newly inaugurated Anti Tax Agency in the state.
This is wonderful to find a politician who cares about his people.
