The governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel has flagged of the planting of 300,000 special breed of coconut seedlings in Akwa Ibom State, WonderTV Media reports.
The event took place on Saturday 18th September, 2021 at the Government Coconut Plantation, Ekeya, Okobo, in Akwa Ibom State.
Governor Udom who personally planted 50 seedlings of coconut stressed that coconut is of high value and can possibly serve as an alternative to crude oil.
He stated that the Saint Gabriel’s Coconut Oil Virgin Refinery has been completed and it is the first coconut oil refinery in Africa. “What is left is to test run the refinery and knowledge transfer”, he added.
The governor enjoined Akwa Ibom indigenes to plant coconuts.
“We want to create a future for our young ones. Coconut has at least 365 uses which means that every single day that God created has a use for coconut. The plantation at Ekeya, Okobo will complement the bigger plantations at Mkpat-Enin, Eastern Obolo and Ikot Abasi. I enjoin all Akwa Ibom people to plant coconuts”, he said.
He also called on the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria to partner with the state in coconut investment.

micronut: A serious disagreement was recorded here inside Max Airline flight going from Abuja to Bauchi when a woman complained over the 4 hours flight delay, and the pilot and the other crew, demanded that the woman should be taken down from the flight for insulting them even though they are trying to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure safety.

Facebook user, Godwin George, who narrated the said event on his page, said he saw a large crowd attacking a lady on Sunday morning, January 10, around 9.30am at Abak road while she was being stripped naked.
According to Mr.George, he was told that the lady identified as Odume Princess Paschaline, was apprehended with bloodstains all over her while trying to jump out from a fence at the house where she had gone to hookup with the victim.
Following an interrogation over the bloodstains, the University Of Nigeria Nsukka graduate was reportedly beaten to a pulp after they discovered the crime she allegedly committed before she was taken to the Police Headquarters in Akwa Ibom.

A source told that the fatally injured Ifunanya had come to church few weeks back with her injury. When interrogated over the state of her domestic servant, Mrs. David claimed that the victim mistakenly poured herself hot water she had earlier prepared to take her bath with. Yet unperturbed over her heinous wickedness, she was said to have raised her voice against the presiding pastor of the church who had insisted in knowing the truth.
Findings from indicated Mrs. David, a native of Aboh Mbaise, Imo State has at several occasions meted inhuman treatments against the househelp said to be an orphan, resulting to visible marks of violence on her body. The latest however left the victim’s skin peeled off, a development that has since attracted condemnation. When brought to the police station, the victim could neither sit nor lie down as a result of the severity of injury she incurred.
An online report further says, “The cat was let out of the bag last week Sunday when the suspect forced the little girl to drink boiling hot water with pepper. This time, the horrendous attack burnt the little girl’s lips, her mouth, throat, voice box as well as esophagi, thus making it difficult for the girl to even breathe’. Bros, I am a doctor and I can categorically tell you that many of our colleagues are not doing fine financially, especially the newly-graduated ones. I relocated to Dubai over 3 years ago. Before I left, I was in practice for some years. Those were the most horrible periods in my career.
An average doctor loves his job but The condition under which we practice in Nigeria is the reason why many were left frustrated and they had to leave. The financial gain is just a side attraction in most cases. Sir, you wrote about dollar and Nigeria . Well, that’ll always remain an assumption because with the reality of Nigeria today, things can never get better unless we change these sets of corrupt mofos we have at the helm of affairs in naija. You need to see how the kleptomaniacs waste our money abroad. And if we are to consider doctors salary in Nigeria, compere to what we that practice abroad receive, the difference is too significant. With a very less work load, my 1 month salary will pay at least, 7 month salaries of my colleagues in government hospitals back home and maybe over 1 year salary for those in some private hospitals. What about taking blames for the problems caused by lack of medical equipment? Lack of adequate manpower? I was once beaten because there was no emergency pack in the emergency, for me to attend to an injured person following an accident.
Do you know that most of the fatalities that we record in our hospitals are preventable? Many people die in our hospitals for minor reasons and some of us couldn’t just continue with it anymore. I opened my own hospital, the business could not thrive because I was milked dry by different agencies while I kept funding the hospital with the salary that I was receiving from my main job. I was at home earlier this month and I went emotional when I saw some patients condition in the hospital. It can NEVER happen here in Dubai. Make I drop mic abeg.

Medicine or medical related courses are the most sacred or promising in Nigerian universities due to the influence and belief that those who graduate from such departments will be among the wealthy in Nigeria.
Every typical Nigerian parent want to answer mama or papa doctor. In fact those of us who were not in medical department were made to feel inferior to those in medical department because of the privilege or high salary or how better Nigeria treats them.

Insecurity: Herdsmen kill eight in another Enugu attack, blame Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB
No fewer than eight persons have been murdered in Mgbuji community, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The ambush carried out by herdsmen also left hectares of farmland destroyed with a number of residents missing.
The community has linked the attack to threats by herdsmen who reportedly blamed Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for their action.
It was gathered that the casualty figure may rise due to the number of persons injured.
An eye witness, Chinaza Akan, told The Sun that one of the casualties was a pregnant woman. Her stomach was opened and the fetus removed.
The latest incident occurred Sunday afternoon between the community’s border with the Benue community.
Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Eha-Amufu, Rt Rev Daniel Nkemjika Olinya, confirmed the attack.
The cleric said it was the third time violent herdsmen invaded Mgbuji community in 2021.
“The last before this Sunday’s led to the death of six people. Five of them have not been buried. They came again this time and killed eight persons,” he said.
Olinya further linked the killings to the eviction notice given to the herdsmen.
“Some of those kidnapped and released said the herdsmen insisted that they would continue there until IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, dropped his agitations for Biafra,” he said.
The Bishop recalled that the Police came on Monday to take the corpses away but were resisted.
The community people insisted that the operatives sign an undertaking to release the corpses to the family members for burial.
The Enugu Command has commenced investigation of the renewed attacks.
