God forgive us, we don't even know anything about this man and are about to gamble away our next 4years at least (it could be 8 ). Why can't he come out on National TV and debate the economic future of this country with other candidates. This mob culture of "you don win" will get us nowhere.
why dont you vote for alhaji abubakar gaya, do you know his background?

How many past officials went on television to do a "show"
Obasanjo didnt do attend the debate with olu falaye did he?
Why dont all the candidate go on television
PoliticsRe: Is It Democratic For Obj To Denies Atiku Presidential Jet? by LoverBwoy(m): 12:56am On Dec 28, 2006
@ Dranoel and jaybaba

what do you say about the Nigeria law quoted above?

Now on the part of Atiku, he is the only 1 human being our 1999 constitution mandates to be from the same political party as the president. If he wants to contest the office of the president, during this 2007 election, he must either seek to contest within his constitutionally bound party which is the PDP or resign his post as VP, join another party and contest.
Legally speaking two errors have occurred and must be corrected. Atiku has been nominated the candidate of the AC while he is still VP which is error number 1. OBJ has sacked him which is error number 2.
don't you think you are going around a roundabout again
error number 1 caused error number 2
if he is contesting under another party he will have to relinquish his power wont he?

Music/RadioRe: Why Isn't Nigerian Music Very Popular Internationally? by LoverBwoy(m): 11:13pm On Dec 27, 2006
Tuface and BankyW are quite popular in the Nigerian community in the USA, but really, how popular is the Nigerian music in the African nation?
Actually nigerian artist are doing well in other african countries
Nigerian artist are also very popular amongst nigerians/africans in the diaspora and thats where it ends.

People are mentioning sade adu, fela  undecided apart from these 2 who else

Why don't nigerian artist get the music played on mainstream radio/television?
Sean paul,Beanie Man, Elephant man and the likes get their music played on Mainstream television and radio they get nominated for best artists/songs not JUST AFRICAN ARTIST/african songs and niche areas like that
they are invited for shows not by caribbeans alone but by mainstream events organisers

To summarize, we are the problem, plain and simple.  If we don't take it upon ourselves to make it popular, it won't be popular.  Case closed, and as my secondary school math teacher used to say, QED
my2cent seems you are talking about american alone, Nigerian artists are promoted even over promoted in the UK by nigerian promoters/organisers, most of their show sells out regualrly. Most of them are not just good enough, they focus on the nigerian aspect too much even some nigerians don't understand their noise music
TravelRe: Another Fuel Blast In Lagos: by LoverBwoy(m): 10:56pm On Dec 27, 2006
The people claim police did not do anything. Would police have shot at people who did not want to leave the place where they were scooping fuel, and then the same people would say police caused the fire? Even now, the number of people here are not helping the rescue operation. People are just too many," the police boss said.

you mean people in saudi/iran are illeterate or greedier?

And who is responsible for such mass greed and illeteracy??
the government have obviously failed in terms of education but at the same time with the highest number of churches and mosques in the whole combined people are still greedy thuggish and generally criminal minded

is the government responsible for greed?

prior to december and the festive season there were no reports of fuel scarcity

the people of Adebisi Layout in Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday drew attention to oil theft in their neighbourhood. They say the alarm became necessary following the unwholesome activities of vandals in the area

you mean only people that go to polytechnics are ENGINEERS?

instead of learning mathematics all through university, engineering students should be taught applicable engineering with industrial experience to help them

Merging polytechnics or converting them to university is only part of a solution to the whole sector

Is the country better or worse than it was before the elections of 1999

Ghana did not spend more than $3billion to get constant electricity. Ask whoever you can
you've been saying this before and you still haven't answered my question; does Ghana really have constant electricity, did Ghana spend only $3billion
OBJ claims he has spent 10billion and still the situation is the same or worse
if i throw 10billion at the power problems in Nigeria, i don't think i will get 24 electricity tomorrow

Ghana is a lot different from Nigeria, have you considered the state of the infrastructure before the current administration?

Well, I am not satisfied with mediocrity or half measures. My boss often insists on customer satisfaction. I have learnt it a a policy and have also made it my culture. What is worth doing is worth doing well. OBJ's best achievement is handling of Darfur crisis.
Nobody is satisfied  with mediocrity and half measures but if your reasonable enough you will understand projects do not take a day to complete and if projects are not initiated for the fear of overspending and transparency we will never build any thing in that country

Let us change this government to one that has focus and loves the people. In my opinion there are only two parties now in Nigeria with ideology and principle, The FDP and the NCP.
I will vote along these lines.
Are those people fresh of the boat?
Are they not nigerians havent they served in previous government?
what were their achievement during that time?

what is FDP and NCP by the way? this is the first time im coming across the name,
have they openly critised the current governement?
have they proposed solutions to the current situations in the country
Do they have a manifesto available for the public or have one amongst themselves?

The police already kill innocent people
imaginewhat ordinary people will do with a gun,
would i respect a nigerian police man when i have a gun around my waist hell no
i'll be having shoot-outs every other check point

Possession of a home defense weapon is not likely to turn most law abiding people into impulse murderers any more than could the possession of a cutlass make every villager in Nigeria a potential machete killer.
carrying a knife/cutlass or any blade in the U.K for example can automatically result in 2-5years imprisonment

Im sure people dont carry cutlass about in America

A home defense weapon?
why can't they allow people to keep and carry their personal guns around??
you see, we wil get different interpretation of the law
PoliticsRe: Which Aspirant Has More Of What It Would Take To Fight Corruption In Nigeria? by LoverBwoy(m): 9:46pm On Dec 27, 2006
We are worse than in 1999. He claims he gave us GSM. But we all know that MTN, Econet, Glo and even govt owned Nitel (now Mtel) paid $385million to the FG for licences. Nigerians on the other hand paid for every service they get from using this subscriptions. What is their achievement in selling license?
were they meant to get it for free? huh

He claims he gave us GSM
are you sure He claimed this?

believe me, that vicinity alone have enough policemen to take care of the security around there. i'm yet to see a checkpoint in lagos that has less than 5 policemen and you don't need to bother asking me how many check points there are in that region.

like i'll always want to believe, "there's always a cause".
yes greedy and illeteracy is the main cause

I saw some of the clips on AIT before the fire

I saw a police man beating people with planks and these people were just going on like nothing was touching them!
On one corner, there's thug who grabbed a police man by the collar and threatened to punch his light out

Below is one of the deceptions that they make use of in deceiving Nigerians to come to the UK only to collect their money and refuse them!
it would be interesting to know the amount of Nigerians in the UK with student status, i think we have one of the highest number of international students

Secondly the rule is not for Nigerians alone!

What if they cancel the whole student visa, lets call it a scam then they cancel the whole thing so we stop losing out cheesy
if about 90% of the document they receive is fake what exactly can they do?

U.K is not the only country offering student visa, USA,Ukraine,Russia,Australia,Saudi Arabia, south Africa even GHANA
i think the British embassy is the most lenient-soft touch

@shockreaction, good question.
Livi Ajonuma, the GM, Public Affairs of NNPC claimed yesterday that some other pipelines had been vandalized and were being repaired throughout last week and that was why fuel was scarce.
I blame NNPC and i blame the people as well but the truth is if there had been no fuel scarcity, this whole thing would not have happened! If nnpc knew they would be carrying out repairs on some pipelines, why didnt they make enough provision to store adequate supplies knowing there would be much vehicular activity because of the festive period?
Residents in the area claimed that two tankers loaded fuel at the burst pipeline with police officials and that nnpc was informed of the burst pipeline before it caught fire but they said there was nothing they could do?from http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/dec/27/national-27-12-2006-01.htm
"The Group Managing Director, the NNPC, Funsho Kukpolokun, who arrived the scene at about 1p.m, admitted that NNPC had received complaints from the area but added that it was not the duty of NNPC to protect pipelines. Saying that it was the duty of the police to protect pipeline, he said that the police were obviously overwhelmed by other security issues. He insisted that pipeline protection should be a collective effort by all Nigerians."

http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=66655
Its such a pity, this nigeria that we are living in.
if they didnt vandalise the pipelines, they wont be fuel scarcity
repairing a leaking/burst pipe is not a days job

EducationRe: Private Universities In Nigeria by LoverBwoy(m): 10:18am On Dec 27, 2006
Seun:
Nothing is free in life. People should be willing to pay if they are interested in quality education. If you come from a poor family, get part-time job to sponsor yourself through university. The absence of freebies provided by the government will teach you responsibility, so that when it's your turn to procreate you will not have 12 children. People have to learn to struggle and prosper with their own efforts instead of waiting on government or father Christmas. If we have more private universities, the price of university education will drop so sharply that market women will be able to afford it. Even if the price doesn't go down, the private universities will free up more space in public universities.
Let's learn to put aside whatever we "believe" in (government, father Christmas, whatever) and face reality.
and the government should be willing to pay if they want a better society
Isn't that the reason people pay tax whether it's very low or not?
it's not like the money belong to them it's the people money in the first place!

We have so many private secondary schools many people afford it but are they really all getting quality education?
