Does the Nigerian government need any more Video Evidence that Nigerian Police are corrupt? What have they done about it? Nothing!!!
I think the T.V stations in nigeria should broadcast police officials taking bribes and committing crime grin grin grin

thanks shinor for the explanation, i think i understand a bit of what is happening

u mentioned that DSTV bought the right to broadcast everything, that means it was up for sales wasnt it? why didnt the nigerian companies buy the right to broadcast ?

BY the way i think this is good for competition but why did it take them so long? and what were they doing when the rights were offered for sale?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FG Bans DSTV From Airing English Premiership by LoverBwoy(m): 6:33pm On Aug 07, 2006
Meanwhile I do not think any Nigerian Station can pay for it. Maybe the Fed. Govt should sponsor NTA and I hope they'll put off all those PDP news and dry programs for Premiership games on Weekends - Can they? Jobless people.
lol why should the FG sponsor NTA to show EPL? when the FG can't sponsor the Nigerian priemer league

the independent stations should come together and buy the right, then split the matches among themselves.  cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FG Bans DSTV From Airing English Premiership by LoverBwoy(m): 6:29pm On Aug 07, 2006
@mocha
It is the "norm" in the broadcast industry to offer exclusive, bundled rights in "non-competitive" markets. I'm not sure if NBC spoke to the owners of the programs but they are simply going the easy route and using a bully pulpit to force the content provider's hand.
thank you man, that is what i understand too, every country is under a "region" so they have to bundle nigeria together.
now benin republic n togo will have their own unique bundle  grin

Anyway, as it stands how are people in nigeria going to watch the games?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FG Bans DSTV From Airing English Premiership by LoverBwoy(m): 6:12pm On Aug 07, 2006

TravelRe: Nigerians Living The Dream Life Abroad by LoverBwoy(m): 5:38pm On Aug 07, 2006
I have been in UK now for over 16 years and will still prefer Nigeria to here any day. I have a very good job (Oracle Applications DBA), but I will still tell u that for half of what I am making here,  Nigeria is still better. For every progress you make here, you will really sweat for it as nothing comes easy, and be prepared that you will face so many obstacles and silent and open discrimination.
i am not getting into this war above but i must say why do we think everything should be on a plate of gold? are u basically saying you do not need to work for things in nigeria and things come easy, are u aso saying there is no discrimination in nigeria (tribalism)?

Oloks to be honest if you were saying this to your workmates don't you think their reply would be "why don't you live in the Nigeria?"

It is absolutely disturbing people would live in a country they don't like  especially when they are not forced to do so!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FG Bans DSTV From Airing English Premiership by LoverBwoy(m): 5:24pm On Aug 07, 2006
I dont understand how DSTV is breaking the law. . . the bought exclusive rights to broadcast the game didnt they? If the local companies cant do their job why cant someone else do it?

i don't think it will do you any good coverting pound to naira it's rather odd! you are spending pounds not naira so there no point always converting pounds to naira when you are buying things

Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by LoverBwoy(m): 7:34am On Aug 07, 2006
Exactly, but it suddenly becomes black and white as long as it conforms to your own warped islamist ideas? What of the bias Tom reported on BBC and their pro-hizbullah reporting? Does that not also qualify as biased reporting? Have you read the reports on the forgery on those supposed Qana photos by Reuters photographer? Funny how all of you seem to be strangely quiet on that.

And what else did we expect from a Reuters photographer who happens to be Arab? If i remember quite well, tom mentioned nothing about CNN but you failed to address his grouse with BBC's biased reporting. Obviously nothing is biased until it does not conform to your own selfish reasoning.
In what way is  the BBc pro hezbollah, i dont think u really watch the BBC, i watch BBC 24(BBC world have regional HQs so obviously the one in lebanon wil report what is on ground) and what i see is a more balanced coverage than CNN!same with sky news does than in anyway suggest the bristish people are pro hezbollah??

and about me having some sought of islamist ideas  angry  angry   angry I think i'll just leave thread for you. peace   smiley

TV/MoviesRe: How Can I Get Naija Tv Stations In England by LoverBwoy(m): 4:59am On Aug 07, 2006
Sky channel 184 (ben tv) - its not really nigeria per se but they show nigerian movies at night or should i say early in the morning like 4am for some weird reason and they do not follow Tv listings, just check up on it every now and again to see if there's anything interestingNTA news comes on at 1.30am, Ait news comes on about 5.00-6.00pm Kakaaki 10.00am-about 2pm, 120minutes comes on about 11pm or 12am mon-fri

Passion TV 183 different african  programmes

OBE 159 mainly ghanian programmes but they show nigerian films too and "flatmates" taxi driver  cheesy
another sattelite tv with nigerian films are Homechoice with cable tv, broadband and telephone all in one

Car TalkRe: Getting a Driver's License in Nigeria by LoverBwoy(m): 3:59am On Aug 07, 2006
well you said they were stricter* up north but the fine is actually a bribe if you think of it, cos they still allowed you to continue lol

they should warn you and tell some1 with a proper liecense to continue the journey or even tell you to go home and get someone with a proper license to come and collect the car wink
Car TalkRe: What Model Of Car Is Best For Nigerian Roads? by LoverBwoy(m): 3:55am On Aug 07, 2006
i think a jeep with a fence or cage grin built around it is very good for Nigeria, then all the okada people will always watch well well when them come near u

Okay i think Peugeot 505and504 are very good for Nigeria though not fuel efficient or any other effectient you are looking for because there is no single data to back it up, no safety rating no thing really special but they are quite durable wink (how comes 504 and 505 are only in Nigeria/Africa?)

Honda is another good car for Nigeria very strong and efficient
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by LoverBwoy(m): 3:33am On Aug 07, 2006
so Tom Gross's personal opinion summarizes everything that is going on in the middle east? very biased just like CNN not CNN international, the guy is jewish what else do u expect? seems like u wanted to type ". . . this is a good summary of my argument" cheesy

we know as someone(on ur blog) said- the press are there to inform and influence the audience

the situation in the middle east is not so black and white  wink
BusinessRe: Would A Private Investigation Firm In Lagos Make Money? by LoverBwoy(m): 3:22am On Aug 07, 2006
Erm what does private investigation has to do with Oga's wife and mai guard alone?

i think given the right laws it would be a very profitable business
especially for the police, government banks and so on

if for example they have the freedom of information act; the investigator would have access to peoples bank transfers and would have access to (bank statements) for EFCC ICPC and co

even our Sun newspaper will expose some senators with their pants down in hotel rooms with little school girls- live  grin
