Got my passport back today. Visa approved - 6 months. Couldn't use the visa I got earlier this year due to the coronavirus.

@safiguy4u, @loyalroyalty can you please help with any other reason I can state in the application which might suffice for applying for 2 or more years? Please note i was given 6months recently but didn't use due to pandemic. My only reason shooting for 2years is it's painful paying another 6months which i did earlier and I intend having multiple entry to visit for vacation and sightseeing. Or rather give me a link I can refer to where they already addressed my type of request as giselle mentioned. I know some people im my category will benefit from this.

Yeap. I do agree with u. No need flogging this matter any further. There is no clause that stipulates 6 months visa comes before 2 years and so on, from Paragraphs V4.2 of Appendix V. It boils down to strong application with compelling supporting documentation. However people apply and hope they have satisfied all aspects. Some get approval and some refusal.

Bottom line, given a first time applicant; scrutiny of 2, 5 or 10 year long term visitor visa is more than that of 6 months. While you may have first hand information on 2 or 5 years first time visa approvals, there are also other experiences with a refusal. It's Saturday, I want to do 'Clean Up'.

I think the best thing is read comments to understand and not to reply. I said 2 years visit visa is easier with a travel history and I never said it's impossible. Please read my comments again and this time, with a bowl of popcorn.

If anyone decides to apply for even 10 years visa on first trial without having some factors in place, then let them go ahead. Their money. Their wahala.

Can you back up your notions pls. I think you need the 6months first especially on tourist category. You can correct me on this if i am wrong

You can certainly reapply but it's best to reapply for another 6 months visa. 2 years is easier when you can be trusted as a genuine visitor to the UK. That is when you have a history showing entry and exit stamps. If you have not violated immigration rules for the other countries you visited it is also a plus for you, depending on what countries though. My best advise is reapply for another 6 months.

Your reason of avoiding application process is lame, sorry. Reasons are usually why you need to visit the UK multiple times and not just to avoid multiple application process.

After a long wait of 5 Month and 20 days my visa is finally out.I did bio metric March.. I was issued 6 month visiting visa.Will go for 10 days and come back and go in December again before it expires then apply for 2years....Eru dupe..

Yes you can apply but you need to take this pandemic into consideration too. I believe the number of visitor's visas that will be given out this time will be reduced due to this pandemic.

Yes my host sent me a new invitation letter, current bank statement and phone bill. I also submitted my current bank statement and a letter from my place of work with current pay slip. I stated in the cover letter am now going in November during remaining my remaining leave for the year.

Visa should be visa na. I don't think the type of visa matters in as much as there is no restriction of entry into UK.
