The Senate is already fuming having just discovered 162 million dollars was withdrawn in March 2018 from the federation account for purchase of helicopters. They are now demanding hearings into the matter from the CBN and Ministry of Defence.

Following aggressive protests in Accra the country's capital, the president Nana Akufo-Addo has capitulated and will not set-up foreign military base in Ghana.

The President stated during a press briefing on air that the both the United State and Ghana would sign a defence cooperation agreement however, there would be no military base.

Defence experts have warned such an agreement undermines the Ghana's national sovereignty.

You sure about additional MRAPs?

I don't think we would get additional MRAPs with this fund or should get with this fund. Remember we only recently got 177 APCs which also include MRAPs. We are also getting 9 MRAPs from Proforce Defence. So 186 APCs in total purchased in the last 6 months.

If I were the army, i'll concentrate on IFVs, Tanks and Artillery systems.

I think we would pay for MI-35M's with this fund, but not Tucanos. The Air Force might also be looking at medium lift aeroplanes. The issues were are having with the JF-17 is simply becoming hard to understand. With purchase lingering i would suggest we wait for the Block 3 instead of waiting to get Block II's. Helicopters, UCAVs and Tucanos should do for now while we the F-7s continue to serve in the interim. We could also look at the MIG-29M or MIG-35.

I have no problem with used Choppers, as long as we are going to get medium lifts, MI-17's or Super Pumas.

For Navy, the Navy would get an LPD, more patrol ships and possibly 2 missile ship. Remember the navy also has it's own intervention fund from the Senate.

First, we would pay up for the MI-35m's purchased. JF-17 is a possibility. Tucanos can actually wait for now.

In fact 1 billion is not a lot of money at all. I don't know what it can actually get for the military.

Photos confirmation of the LoI signed between Nigeria and Poland for the manufacturing of the Beryl M762 assault rifle in Nigeria.

The Beryl in the coming years will most likely replace the AK and it's older variants in Nigerian military service.

Let us also not forget, the AK was only introduced in the Late 90's in Nigeria.

There is nothing new under the sun. Special Operations has been around since 1943. There's no hidden knowledge. What Jordan knows, US knows too and so does Russia, Israel, Egypt, Brazil etc

just study your home soil and adapt to suit your combat model.

what we see here is typical of problems plaquing the Nigerian Military.

hope you realize that Jordan has their own fighting doctrine and so does Pakistan, Russia etc. when they all come back and go to warfront together how do you synergies all this differently trained soldiers??

You don't standardize your SOFs for your SFs I am not trolling you every situation is very different from the last ops and this might result in needless fatalities because you are stuck in " Let us do it by the book syndrome" A Nigerian SOF Operator would of told the US SFS OP right from the get- go they were walking into an AMBUSH right from the get -go because they ( The Nigerians have been in that situation) they also would of told them the planes would not arrive in time again because they have been there, being surrounded by an overwhelming force is nothing new to SFs and it renders your tech equipment virtually useless, so no sir based on recent events Countries can learn from other countries No country has a monopoly on asymmetric warfare.
Fair enough while you at it also ask
why Russia hasn't completed the job in Syria
why America has given up on half of Afghanistan.
BH is in the sliver of land between no- man's land of CHAD /NIGER/ NIGERIA and the MANDARA MTS

Most of the situations faced by the armed forces aren’t urban, let the police focus on that (anti hijack; trains buses and planes)
We also need a police unit to stop kidnappings and handle hostage crisis.

We both know the NAF special teams are relatively new. It is very necessary in their formative years (5-10years) they train & get operational experience from wherever and then come home to HARMONIZE to create a training pipeline.

Exactly Bro even the US and Uk have trained in Nigeria and Thailand, SF is most definitely learn from other Countries as they learn from US.
The King of Jordan met with PMB and High level Military officials met which meant overseas training was made available. It would be silly to say " No we want to Standardize" If we look at what is happening in Egypt they are struggling to move fast i.e. from conventional to SF despite all the aid. Palaver is in the Sinai, No country knows it all. The US trained in the Niger Delta and Ghana , I am pretty sure they have their own SOP on SF.
Time was we had a President who was considering cutting the size of the ARMED FORCES ( OBJ)

We are even lucky we are seeing pictures of them
