Nigeria is slowly developing and marrying its defense needs with Technology inputs....a lot of it is classified some of it is unclassified as it has opened up in the 2017 budget.
There is a genuine clamour for Nigeria to get its own military dedicated Satellite for one.
The NAF has sent people to learn the importance of GIS
Thanks to BH all new Helicopters come with FLIR and can fight all weather.
It is expected the JF-17 will come with the Helmet mounted @$×$@
Right now it will be the NAF that will lead the way forward when it comes to this issue.
This does not mean the NA or NN are not doing "Stuff' it just means the NAF is further ahead.

The U.S. is the only nation that operates the "Angel of Death" and they aint selling it to no one.The technology required to stablize the AC as it pours out 3000 rounds per minute is classified.

Take a loan worth billions or strike a deal with the Chinese on defense acquisitions (not some useless deal where our airport will be sold like a particular country did)

I have also noticed Nigerians complaining about funding our defense sector. Nigerians need to realize I'm as much as infrastructure is important, defence is also important. If you're satisfied with the government taking loans worth billions of dollars for economic/health/infrastructural reasons then you shouldn't complain about taking loans for defence.

They don't want to face reality.

armor, upgraded fire-arms and standardized fire-arms, communications equipment, tactical vehicles, training facilities, feild hospitals, feild
kitchens, HESCO (lots of it) etc etc etc etc

This has nothing to do with bravery, this has everything to do with your ego - you simply cannot admit to being wrong.

Indeed you see that attraction with the military all over like the one with the Air Force which is long term. Profits is the driving force here being a private company but now with sensitive National Security & Defence investments which of course will make the Federal Government put an eye on things like military grade equipments for export. But same will go for PROFORCE if they up their lobbying game.

Both companies actually also have their sights and targets for foreign exports as Nigerian Vehicles from both companies are already seen in Mali and Libya and other African countries.

But to be fair to PROFORCE, beyond just tactical vehicles they have acquired certain expertise in ballistics to a greater degree than any other indigenous company I think which is reason perhaps the MRAP deal goes to them and Combat Assets of that range and capability which sophistication requires time to produce. Innoson it appears is faster and on budget when it comes to light transport vehicles for combat which the Army needs swiftly.

PROFORCE doesn't have the size yet nor financing to roll out such huge stocks as anticipated which makes a partnership of sorts as you suggested sensible. The problem is Denel is foreign owned and and it's technology not exactly solely South African comes with strings attached which is anathema to Nigeria's military industrial complex.

Innoson makes smart partnerships that works in the Nigerian environment. Why not PROFORCE partner with INNOSON? One builds the other does the Armouring or let the competition drive further innovation and industrialization.

PROFORCE will do well to follow suit and patronage from the Military won't be a problem rather the challenge would be how do you slow down or whittle down the influence of a Nations Military Industrial Complex when it takes off as vested interests in the sector, the government (both the executive and legislature) and the Military will see to it that the funds never stop coming including looking for wars to fight. The upside is it leads to National Industrialization across major sectors of the economy.

This is a very good development for the rebirth of the Military industrial complex.I am certain now that "Vehicle A" and Vehicle "B" as the Army alluded to will have some Nigerian input.

In that regard, officials of both the US Government and the NAF would be meeting in early January 2018 to jointly study the LOA prior to subsequent endorsements by both parties.

1) It takes time
2) The difference between the U.S under Trump in contrasts to Obama is very deliberate one is willing to sell weapons , real training , real spare parts and the other wasn't.
3) The US has decided it is in their own strategic interest to sit at the table and bring something to the table.
4) Nigeria will not only buy the A29s, they will now most definitley buy a squadron of JF17s
5) I struggle objectively sometimes to understand some of my Naija brothers in the scheme of buying aircrafts (12) relatively speaking for $593 + parts+ classifeid technology transfer+ infrastructure + missles ( guided and unguided) i do not understand qatar is paying $6b for 12 jets from Britain , I wonder what will happen when Nigeria inks a $1b deal just for aircraft?
