Assuming the guy was from poor home, the "assistant" Parish priest (not the main priest o) would be demanding for the receipt of his youth levy clearance, communion and confession clearance and all what not. And if those things are not presented, he would send the cathechist to go and bid the guy farewell with Catholic hymn book.

Abu m nwa afo igbo. But the way igbos hype the Queens language is sickening. You hardly hear an igbo indigent conversing with the language in public. Even In the place of work, they will back up their silliness with the excuse of English being the official language. I remember accompanying my sister to her place of work in one of the South West States... The way the yorubas were communicating with their language excited me. But when my sis wanted to collect something from her igbo colleague, she used the almighty "official language" and it was a Saturday o.
The way we are going, I won't be surprised if the coming generation gives igbo language a run into extinction.
