Thanks heavens I have my permanent voters card. I hope all GEJ and Buhari supporters on this forum also have their PVC . I wish GEJ people who have their PVC all the best. See you in Febuhari 14. If you don't have your PVC , all the likes and shares on nairaland won't guarantee anything . Cheers

Mehn if GEJ wins Nigeria is doomed o. He has established 12 universities, is that what we need ? He is tackling Buhari instead of obsanjo . Buhari cannot even do all those things he did back then because this is democracy. We need change . Imagine a fAshola as minister of works for example . All in all we need a debate
PoliticsRe: Massive Crowd Inflow At PDP Lagos Rally [photos] by Lyoncrescent: 3:33pm On Jan 08, 2015
I am for Buhari but Goodlucks strategy of attacking Buhari based on his military head of state past is just stale. The Nigerian economy is the biggest on Africa says GEJ. It's just sad he is ignoring that his party has been in power for 16 years and no progress. It's just a shame . If GEJ should win I would give up on Nigeria. He is also justifying the useless you win project. He is blaming Buhari for Nigerias problem while excusing pdp and their 16 years of waste
HealthRe: Arse Hole Ache by Lyoncrescent: 2:19pm On Dec 19, 2014
I think what you have is a form of a-n-al fissure. I am not sure though.

A-n-al fissures usually heal within a few weeks without the need for medical treatment, although they can easily recur if they are caused by constipation and this remains untreated. In some people, symptoms from a-n-al fissures last six weeks or more (chronic anal fissures).

It can be helpful to adopt some simple self-help measures to help make it easier to pass stools, which can allow existing fissures to heal and reduce your chances of developing fissures in the future. These measures include:

making sure you have plenty of fibre in your diet
staying well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids
not ignoring the urge to pass stools
exercising regularly

Please google a-n-al fissure for more information. Nairaland is changing a-n-al to behindbased in the links i posted so you may have to google it yourself. Cheers.

You people keep talking about dividing the vote of SE and SS and NC. but don't believe that of the north and west can be divided

isn't it foolishness?

Hope you have your voters card. I'm in Lagos and I'm voting GEJ and I'm not alone.
i agree with you that the votes of the North and West can be shared. This is where a just umpire in INEC is needed and a robust campaign mechanism and strategy from both PDP and APC.

I have my Voters card and i am also in Lagos. Ikorodu to be precise. You are entitled to vote who ever you want to vote. PDP has been in power for 15 years. I am not convinced on the need to continue doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting a different result which is what another 4 years of PDP will offer. Change is needed.APC is needed.

In a more sinister tone and as i always say, if PDP is the answer, May GOD run your life and the life of your generations the way PDP has run Nigeria in the last 15 years. Please can you say a big Amen to that.

Dotng:
During the 2011 elections, ACN only fielded Ribadu because they had to. They knew they couldn't get a win across the country especially with the collapse of talks with Buhari. They concentrated their resources on winning SW which they did to convince Buhari that he, Tinubu, is no push over. The only reason Ribadu won in Osun was because Aregbesola needed to convince the PDP that his victory at the electoral panel was not a fluke. Can you imagine PDP winning the presidential election in Lagos with the standing of Tinubu and Fashola if it were not orchestrated by Tinubu. What Buhari had counted on was that he can win without merging with Tinubu. If he Buhari had won in the North and ACN had won in the south West, PDP will not have enough votes in the South & SE to beat the votes he will garner in the North. Tinubu saw through him and decided to go to sleep during the presidential election. That is what humbled Buhari into the merger we have today. Today Jonathan doesn't stand the chance of winning in the South West and the North the votes in the middle belt and SE maybe divided leaving him with only the SS.
I agree. But this is all assuming that buhari maintains all the 12 Northern states he won in the 2011 election and Lagos,Ogun,Osun,Oyo,Ekiti,Ondo and Kwara vote for Buhari/Osibanjo. IF APC achieves that, they have 19 states in the bag including the two number crunching states of KANO and LAGOS .It is only then we can then talk about dividing the SE. I am happy you agree with my point that the Buhari/Osibanjo Campaign shouldnt focus much on the south south and campaign rather more heavily in states that are more likely to be won like the 12 Buhari won in 2011, All the South West States. Then maybe Nasarawa,F.C.T. and Imo State too

END of 15 years of PDP Bondage come 2015. APC will be in power next year.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Has Announced Professor Yemi Osinbajo As Running Mate [Confirmed] by Lyoncrescent: 11:27am On Dec 17, 2014
PassingShot:
I appreciate your thinking but winning the SW with Osinbajo is much more easier now than in 2011. In 2011, Buhari did not have the support of Tinubu, Fashola and all other APC politicians which he now enjoys. I am very sure that Osinbajo was nominated by Tinubu after Buhari rejected him for the slot. So, Tinubu and the rest APC governors will surely deliver the votes.

Going SS would have been much more difficult to sell to the Yorubas because the ticket does not guarantee them the presidency even in the next eight years especially when they have been marginalized by GEJ for the past six years. So, how do you convince them to troop out on election day?

All in all, I see this choice as the best option to defeat PDP.
Your arguement is solid. But if they win 5 states in the southwest controlled by APC and the 12 states in the North won by buhari in the 2011 elections, that would make 17 states unless of course ondo and ekiti come on board making it 19 states. Only then will the selection of Osinbajo be a master stroke.

I understand where you are coming from.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Has Announced Professor Yemi Osinbajo As Running Mate [Confirmed] by Lyoncrescent: 11:11am On Dec 17, 2014
The image shows the result of the last election.

They need to consolidate on that.in 2011, Buhari(CPC) won 12 states while Ribadu(ACN) won 1 state(Osun State). Goodluck won the rest.

At worst case scenario, the 13 states won by CPC and ACN in 2011 combined should be maintained in the 2015 elections for victory.

The key question is whether Buhari can win Lagos,Ogun,Oyo,Ondo,Ekiti and Kwara which are all APC states anyway with the exception of Ondo and Ekiti ? If buhari wins the 4 APC states from the above that brings the total to 17 states .The entire south west apart from Osun state voted Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 so its shaky.

I dont see what Osinbajo is offering to secure the remaining states. Unless ofcourse APC wins Ondo and Ekiti which would give Buhari 19 states and more likely than not secure victory for him. EDO ,IMO and Nasarrawa states which were won by Goodluck in 2011 are now APC states and who knows if Buhari/Osinbajo can clinch those states ? If they do, that would see APC win 22 statess and surely secure victory. WILL Rivers state under Ameachi as APC Governor even vote for Buhari/Osinbajo ? That one na Wild Card State.

I would have prefered Rochas,Adams or Rotimi. But yet again what do i know? APC,Change is here. Time to end 15 years of PDP bondage

I also dont believe APC should waste resources campaigning in some states such as bayelsa. If they focus on the states discussed here i think it is the end of PDP. They shouldnt also campaign on twitter or nairaland, they should campaign to the pepper seller and okada riders cos these are the majority and the will stand under the sun for hours to cast their votes.

TravelRe: FG To Privatise Airports Soon- Vanguard by Lyoncrescent: 10:00am On Oct 06, 2014
This is a good development if they can get a good consortium to run it prpoerly. FAAN is doing a poor job especially at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport. If you know how much some of these FAAN staff make by collecting bribes and cutting corners, you would weep for Nigeria.

Heathrow Airport in the UK isn't owned by the British Government. The airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which also owns and operates three other UK airports, and is itself owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group that includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

As bad as Bi-Courtney is, it is is doing a better job than FAAN in managing the MMA2 Airport. If an international consortium like the one managing Heathrow can take over Murtala Mohammed for example, I believe that would be an excellent development.

I don't support runs. When I have my own daughter, I won't want her to engage in runs but let's face the facts.

If you want to play holy you had better make heaven because the runs girl isn't any better or worse than someone who isn't holy. Sin is Sin. That being said, all the runs girls I knew back in university were the first to get married and most cases to rich men. Most of them even go to the US to give birth. Most of the runs girls I know who manage to graduate often tap into their connections either with an old chief or a young corporate executive to get good jobs. Some even do businesses sef.

And few of these runs girls actually get to turn a new leaf when they get married by not being adulterous. These are my own personal experiences with these runs girls o. The girl that doesn't do runs had better be a born again christian and make heaven because sin na sin. If u have sex with one boyfriend for 4 years both of u drinking garri, while runs babe lodges at eko hotel everyother weekend with a different bobo, sin na sin.

Abeg Let's be Objective.
For those that attend Public Universities trust me when I say you are all on scholarship. State and Federal Government subsidize your fees so much. If you know how much billions is spent on public unis you will know your platry school fees doesn't do anything more like a drop in an ocean.Secondly how do these public unis generate revenue internally ? By selling postume form for 5k and selling result card 5k to check ur result ? Education is expensive and because the Government foots most of the bill doesn't mean your education is worth what you pay as school fees.If government stops subsidizing public unis, even with their population some of their school fees will be higher than some private unis and the value for money will be lower.

RomanceRe: Women And Their Fishlike Behaviours by Lyoncrescent: 11:03pm On Jan 10, 2014
In the words of Giacomo Cassanova:
"There is no honest woman with an uncorrupted heart whom a man is not sure of conquering by dint of gratitude. It is one of the surest and shortest means. Attentiveness and small favors should be employed to soften a woman’s heart, but "a man who makes known his love by words is a fool". Verbal communication is essential—"without speech, the pleasure of love is diminished by at least two-thirds"—but words of love must be implied, not boldly proclaimed" That's the almighty formula to winning a womans heart according to Giacomo

As far as fishes go, there are more fish males than fish females cos for example more fish males pay fish females(pros) to have sex with that both of them will enjoy.

All in all, naija graduates dey try. I've seen many naija graduates with 2:1 and 2:2 going to top unis in uk(Not dem middlesex uni and sheffield hallam o) and coming out with Distinction for their masters degree. We dey all try both public and private uni graduates. Agree that d summer school thing is a scam and state govts are not doing much with public primary schools. We need more Federal Government Colleges.

delors: In response to your position, please see my response to one of your earlier positions. Yoh, I am even more surprised you sort of dont seem to know what you are saying. Would you like to review what you just wrote? The first sentence is kinda logically inconsistent...
UNIVERSITY ISN'T MEANT FOR EVERYONE.

You spend 4 years studying biochemistry as difficult as it is and spend 5 years working in a Glo Customer care centre ? The pressure to go to uni is always there cos of our culture and perception. There should be film schools or fashion schools or music schools or whatever. Is it clearer now ? Plus this is applicable to both private and public unis.
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by Lyoncrescent: 6:13pm On Dec 22, 2013
delors: Your view is debatable. I 'll suggest you post it as a topic on NL some time. The fact that you finished from an expensive university doesnt mean the knowledge you acquired is more expensive than the guy who finished from a government funded university. In terms of the quality of research, it is not debatable that the public unis over-surpass the private ones. Comparing a university like Caleb to (not with) say, LASU is an embarrassment. Comparing a uni like Babcock (plus CU combined) to OAU or UI or UNILAG is like trying to determine whether a man is sleeping or dead - big difference.
The lecturers who teach at private unis are more less the ones recruited from public universities or hustlers still trying to get their feet. I can tell you i have seen them and I know the difference. A department head or faculty head at a public university is recruited to a private Uni and he automatically joins the school's senate board. What's that? A school that started yesterday is in no way comparable to a school that has been in existence for over 60 years doing great year in year out.
Private unis are confirmed business centres. No carry overs. Pay the right guy, you pass your failed courses. Students graduate with no real life skills, nothing.
Bros, it is an endless story. If you paid N950k per year for something you could get for as low as N45k with better quality, more world recognition, and with a history of resounding success globally, would you pick the former or the latter? Thats a rational judgement challenge, let me know what you think. smiley
1. Lecturers in Public Universities collect bribe too and they sleep with female students.

2. I don't get what u mean by world recognition cos as far as rankings go, u don't wanna go there.

3. Give it time, babcock for example has been churning out graduates for the last 10 years since 2003. I judge a uni by quality of its alumni. All those research stuff are bogus. If you look around you, there's a private uni graduate going places.
4. You don't wanna get me started on d subsidy thing again. What if I told that d school fees of each unilag student would amount to 350k without governments subsidy ?

5. If there is enough money, I don't mind the subsidy of public unis. But there is a trade off. Public primary and secondary schools are being igonored. GEJ opened 9 new unis, when did any federal or state government open a new primary or secondary uni ? Why can't there be free feeding in primary schools ? Would u send ur child to a public primary school ? The foundation is key.

That's my final and humble opinion.
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by Lyoncrescent: 5:55pm On Dec 22, 2013
delors: Whats your point flourescent? Why do we have a government? Why do we pay taxes? Why do we have natural resources? I had the best I could ask for in terms of experience, learning and what have you. Over seas, governments heavily subsdize education because it is not meant to be a luxury...if it was, the great leaders of yester-years and today would probably not be called great. If you being an average Nigerian and your papa and mama get like 4 pikins (all things being equal), how exactly would your parents sponsor these kids to school if Babcock, Madonna, etc were the only schools available and the tuition per year is nothing less than N1.5m per head? And say your first born intends to study Medicine, second born Engineering, you Accounting, etc? Did you think about that? Those leaders who championed the cause of free education in the western region had very good, crystal clear reason and vision for championing that cause. I kinda think yours is blurry.
Yes you pay taxes but University isn't meant for everybody. If you wanna go to harvard , you think the US government is gonna say because its citizens pay tax it should kill itself and make it cheap for everyone ? I don't see why the endowment tactic and scholarship schemes employed in other unis over d world can't be employed here. Secondly, awolowo was excellent at subsidizing education from d root. How many of us here would truly send our children to a public primary school today? When last did the FG establish a secondary school ? All attention is going to the money gulping university system and people are coming here to brag about cheap school fees not knowing the Government is paying over d odds just to meet up. If there's anything that needs subsidizing cos u pay taxes, its d primary and secondary schools simply because every child must have QUALITY primary and secondary education. Many succesful people in naija on d other hand didn't even go to uni.

Those western leaders championed not just free education but quality education. What you have now is almost free cos u pay peanuts but definitely not quality cos if u know how much d government subisdizes it by, u will be shocked.
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by Lyoncrescent: 5:33pm On Dec 22, 2013
First class or Third class, we should all belong to the common sense class which I believe no one has a monopoly of.

Your 45k for 4 years was heavily heavily subsidized by the Government. You know what subsidy means right ? In other words, you were on scholarship by the government. I'm quite sure all these 45k school fees for 4 years doesn't even make up to 10 percent of d worth of d education u recieved. Someone has had to pay for it for the 90 percent.Government.
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by Lyoncrescent: 5:07pm On Dec 22, 2013
Sighs.

Not Again. So the fact u pay 35k or 30k in Unilag or OAU, doesn't mean that's worth your education is worth. Now assume there are 20,000 undergraduates in unilag for example paying 30,000 naira annually, that comes to 600 million naira per year making 50 million naira per month.

Do you actually think 50 million is enough to run the university, pay non-academic staff, academic staff, research grants etc ? Don't forget public unis also get also sort of grants such as ETF. Don't forget these public universities have already established structures unlike their private counterparts which are constantly building and improving. If you look @ it critically, the government is subsidizing public university education heavily. If you went to a public university, u were on scholarship by d government cos ur school fees is chicken change.

Quality is Relative. I can tell you private university graduates are having d upper hand. Especially with all dis employers now placing age caps for employment. An average private uni graduate is 22 and has a 2:1 and at 22 has completed nysc.

Education is meant to be relevant not difficult and private unis are getting it right.
