I'm sorry but i don't suscribe to your thinking. maybe those who read their bibles at home are good but i assure u they can be better by going to church.
It's a 50/50 chance

Those who seem not to gain from church going would be worse without it. If a thief goes to church everyday but still steals then happy days because perhaps without church he'd be killing as well as stealing, u get my point.
you can't prove this. Quite ridiculous logic I might add.

. . . being religious would make the realization of ones follies quicker and easier.
how?

@ mr mayor, well at least your sister knows that it isn't exactly honest. How does she know that, well i think it's because she's religious.
I'm beginning to suspect you think religion is like some High-Definition goggles. I'm also suspecting you're using "christian" for "religious". They're two different words.

Those who aren't religious don't regard dishonesty as being wrong and that's worse than pretending.
One swooping generalization after another. What's your evidence for this?

Don't get me wrong i don't like to see situations like you've described but i'd rather they were in church every week than 'who knows where else they may be instead'.
I've heard that before. Are you a pastor?

Chances are that they are more likely to 'show what they learn' eventually by going 24/7 rather than by not going at all!
sometimes what matters more than 'what' one does is 'Why' one does. Could the act of perpetuating places of worship have its reasons in deciet? Or denial? Or perhaps even delusion? Maybe one just  frequents church to silence a voice in ones head--

There's  no real reason for frequenting church, except one has psycho/emotional problems--or needs ther kinds help.
Christianity EtcRe: Are Nigerians Truly Religious Or Mere Pretenders? by macalurs(m): 4:36pm On May 11, 2007
All you know about the US is what you see on TV. You don't live in the US firsthand-- or do you? The US politics has nothing to do with religion. The white house speaks of "God" once in 3decades. The english percieves americans as "religious"-- the word is hypocritical. If you watch from far off, you wont know this. You have to live in the US to witness certain things.

US is the most materialistic country functioning. I said it.

religion is the 3rd world sedative?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

then what about america?!?!?!?!?!?!?! would you say the USA is more religious than nigerians?!?!? God knows i would!!!!
I don't really get your point. But if I do, I think it's almost ridiculous to say the US is (even half) as religious as nigeria or any "3rd" world-- not to talk of being more religious. Even logic presents no reason as to why the "rich" needs religion. Yes religion is the opium of the poor. (karl marx)

Christianity EtcRe: Are Nigerians Truly Religious Or Mere Pretenders? by macalurs(m): 2:13am On May 10, 2007
Religion is the third-world sedative. To the poor/hopeless, religion is all they have. It's not necessarily a Nigerian thing, it's every where.

To answer your question, the most alleged "religious" aren't necessarilly pretenders, especially when they have very few other options.

It's funny how people see what they want.

Jesus actually looked like a mad man according to history. He didn't even take showers daily. He was poor and broke at the same time. What actually prompted most of his preachings against hypocrisy was the opression he witnessed first-hand. So if you asked me, I'd say he wasn't the son of God. But even if he really was, looking attractive would have contradicted his intended persona.

FamilyRe: I Impregnanted My Best Friend's Only Daughter by macalurs(m): 4:10am On Apr 09, 2007
The story is a lie. The way it sounds--

23? and you have a wife and kids? and your wife is away with the kids? and you have nothing on your mind but to fuc k someone's under-age daughter? your best friend's at that? if you were in the US, you'd be in jail for a long long time--

Seems like you're not, because no one in the US sends his MINOR daughter to stay at a friend's to go to school from there. What kind of school could that be? dumb story.

If you're in Nigeria right now, the chances increase that your story is a lie. Married with kids at 23? yeah right. And even if the story was true, and you're so rich, and you stay in Nigeria, you wouldn't come on the internet to say it. So you're a dumb fucking liar. busted ya tongue
RomanceRe: Dating Men as a Single Parent (Kid Born Out of Wedlock) by macalurs(m): 3:30am On Apr 09, 2007
hey thanks for being candid.

@ your question as to whether guys find it difficult to settle with women that have kid(s) from previous relationships, yes and no-- I'll explain why.

In Nigeria there's the stereotype that tends to brand these such women as "loose" and promiscuous. It's quite appaling, but the society has massive quirks, smeared in delusion and deciet. Thinking rationally, there might very well be reasonable causes for child-bearing out of wed-lock, but preconditioned mindsets are hard to deal with. Based on this, a prospect might view a woman with a kid as a woman with issues related to dependency and/or promiscuity. Sometimes even 'intellectuals' do the same.

Some men think they might have had enough problems with women without children, and don't need one with a child. However there are some men that just are able to love one as one is. Not all nigerian men are negative toward these such women, but chances are greater that amongst Nigerian men, most would rather date a woman without "strings". I say-- the heck with nigerian men-- If a north korean can love you better, fire right on.

Just keep being positive. I love your spirit. If you've done it this far, you're close to finding rest. kiss

wishful thinking.

how about try telling him how you feel and see if he will leave another girl for you. The downside to that is, he might very well leave you for another girl.
RomanceRe: Am In Love With Someone From A Different Tribe-i Smell Trouble. by macalurs(m): 2:15am On Apr 06, 2007
one thing  in life is sure: change is always.

All you have to do is be patient, and wait. If he's the right guy, (as in-- HIM), you're going to be just fine.

What I do when I get to check points as these is, I try to imagine, say 2yrs from now. Then the answer almost becomes obvious: you don't know future, so all you have is the truth you tell yourself now--(or don't tell).

Plan more, worry less. smiley

CrimeRe: Intimacy Or Escape! by macalurs(m): 4:34pm On Apr 02, 2007
Neither escape nor intimacy might necessarily come to mind. (what do you mean intimacy? you mean sex?)

The word is Confusion. If the cell is cold, and smells like death, the victims will be curled up in little balls on each end of the prison, trying to cover up what they can. The guy will loosen up first after some time. The female will loosen up when she sees the guy is not interested.

In my case, NEITHER. Most likely escape, after a few days of monitoring the routine of the place. And depending on how we interract, I wont necessarily be compelled to escape with her (Worse if we dont speak the same language)

@fadenike,

You're one of those girls with some much insight, but with little or no gift of expression. Hence it's not your fault that your point cannot be understood despite, your elucidations.

Is abstinence wrong? Is indulgence wrong? I understand your question, but what's the logic of your point? please take little no offence.
