One is made of Patriots who lòve their country and its flag. Hence, their vibrant green caps. The other is made of persons who are Separatists at night and 'Obidient' by day. Make we no even drag the Potopoto road matter. |
Now, things are getting interesting. Kwankwaso's stranglehold over Kano PDP affairs by proxy seems to be over (if Supreme Court aligns with Appeal Court Judgement). However, how come this judgement is being given same day as Shekarau joining PDP? E be things oo. |
It is too early for the old bird to reveal what is in its hand, hence don't expect OBJ to be categorical as at now on who he is supporting. Once campaign starts, everybody position go start to dey very clear especially when the letter from the Letter Writer drops. But......based on speculation, I think OBJ is rooting for Obi and this is for 2 major two reasons: 1. He and the old clique of generals are not comfortable with either Atiku or Asiwaju as both are seemingly uncontrollable 2. There is this chivalrous sense of responsibility to deliver a SE president as a means of uniting the country and this is being driven by external influences, namely the British (remember that Economist piece bashing Asiwaju and the Reuters piece promoting Obi....that's their handiwork). Hence the coded speak of supporting a Nigerian agenda....blah blah...blah. p.s. There is also the case of using Obi to act as a spoiler for Atiku - who is the least preferred option of OBJ and his clique, but that is a story for another day. |
I think Wike is playing a long game. We should all watch carefully and see how things pan out. However, 2 things are now glaring about Atiku: 1. He is not strategically proactive. He let others take the initiative and left himself exposed. 2. His ability to smell danger from afar is not well honed. Every sensible political watcher knew that the NBA conference was a waste of time (in political terms), as the NBA leadership was pro-Obi. Going there was a waste of his time and left little room for him to manoeuvre and counter the Tinubu-Wike meeting which was going on at the same time. |
Badkago:Do you even read what you typed? What is the job of Amotekun, and what is the job of Neighbourhood Watch? Omo.....una need prayers o. |
Same Fashola that was with the campaign DG, at the Campaign Council office about two weeks ago? Or is it the same Osinbajo who is gearing to meet with Tinubu next week alongside other ex-presidential aspirants. Adesina has his business with the AfDB. His open endorsement or otherwise of any candidate is his private concern. You guys can continue with your fake news. Enjoy |
First it was El-Rufai, now it is Ganduje. Keep on deceiving yourselves. This election for Tinubu is a done deal by God's grace. His loyal brothers in the South and North will deliver for him. February is not faraway. |
Think9ja:El-Rufai lead the team that brainstormed on the composition of the Presidential Campaign Council. So what makes him not to be with Tinubu? Go to Kaduna and check the posters of Uba Sani who is the Governorship candidate. It is Asiwaju Tinubu for show. Even Dikko Radda, the Governorship candidate for Katsina was Tinubu's agent together with James Faleke at the convention. Some of you guys analyse politics like kids. No offense. |
With people like Sule Lamido advising Atiku, it was clear that there was no genuine path to reconciliation. Anyways, their business not mine. |
Chiboy419:Calling someone "Urchin" because you have divergent political views only magnifies your emptiness. |
In life, try to be unique. What he wore, trendy or not trendy, did not diminish the output or quality of his words. His statistics checked out, his ideas on economic reformation was quite ebullient and the fact that Shettima will handle security is also a masterstroke (as this is thed edge of experience he has over others). These are the things that I would have expected people to dissect and discuss. Nigerians, especially the online generation should stop majoring on minor things. That is why there is a dearth of intellectual discussion on Social Media. |
Political season. Expect all manner of news to keep flying about. |
It seems that a section of the media is intent on fanning the flames of this Muslim Muslim ticket issue. Majority if not all of these groups are sponsored by aggrieved politicians, some even from the opposition parties or even Christian organisations. If you ask these youths to show you their membership card now, you will see that they don't have it. This is political season, anybody can wake up, form a group and start protesting. Claiming their love for Asiwaju as the reason for their protest is just a form of blackmail. If they love Asiwaju as claimed, they will accept his choice, believe in his decision and choose to work for him. If they are really APC members and they are unable to accept his decision, then they should leave the party as Daniel Bwala did and let everyone rest. Media should shift conversation away from this issue and try and focus on something else. APC will not change the ticket and majority of the party members (except from some small pockets of resistance) have already queued behind the ticket and are willing to work for BAT/KSM victory. No amount of media propaganda will change the reality on the ground. |
GboyegaD:Ok, so to help our reputation and boost investor confidence, we should release out of our meagre USD reserves and give to the Airlines? Great idea. |
kelvinovie25:Of course, they will tender Dollars. But this way we can grow our local owned business using our hard earned Dollars and not some fat cat Emiratis. |
Ijaya123:Yes, it is called Force Majeure |
Very good points. But could the solution be a "Russian style" command economy viz a viz the Airline industry? I mean Russia was subject to a massive barrage of sanctions including on its Airline industry. Yet they nationalised all their foreign owned planes, stopped paying the owners in Dollars, but rather in Roubles, starting doing the maintenance and certifications internally and flew only to destinations where their own certification standards is being accepted. While at the same time quickly reviving their own aircraft manufacturing industry. Honestly in my view, free market (liberalism) isn't helping us especially in Airline industry as we are being taken advantaged of. Imagine the airlines selling tickets in Naira and choosing to repatriate in Dollars. iguita: |
I get you sir, but at this time our backs are really against the wall. JohnBullMySon: |
Angelfrost:Even your lord candidate PO, is part of the problem. In his Next Stores, how many of the items being sold there are made in Nigeria? Isn't he not a master of importation aka 'Container economy' Let's not fool ourselves or be partisan abeg. |
Thanks brother. Most who rush to comment don't even understand what is going on. Heathrow44: |
This is not about wickedness. It is a cold hard economic decision. We are fast running out of USD Agboola321: |
This is a really tough situation. Nigeria is blocking the repatriation of funds NOT because it wants to damage its reputation or deprive Emirates of its money, but we are really on strings now. Every USD in the economy has to be scavenged and kept aside to finance importation - both of fuel and food. Instead of insulting the government, Nigerians now need to be more patriotic in putting up a united front. For now, with the absence of Emirates and soon to be other international airlines, we should actively support our local airlines like Arik Air who are flying international routes and quickly launch Nigerian Air to complement them. Emirates and by extension IATA should be patient and calm down. They will get their funds in due time, let's fix ourselves first. |
Vote your Obi and let me vote my Asiwaju, it is a free world bro. post=115799640: |
Two wonderful omoluabi One incoming president and one ex-president. ![]() |
I am sure someone will come here and blame Tinubu. For what is worth, all Lagos Governors are independent in affairs of governance. The GAC runs the party affairs while the Governor runs the administrative affairs. Asiwaju Tinubu was smart is leaving the fees at N25,000.00 because he has a Socialist mindset. If he could even make LASU free back then, he will have done it. However, Fashola had some capitalist tendencies and was inclined to increase the fees to make LASU very competitive with Private Universities. When became clear that the policy will affect the election in 2015, Fashola had to revert to previous status quo. |
olaboy33:Grace has found James Faleke. Dogara I understand as his character has always been suspect. But Babachir I am quite surprised. With all what he has said and done, I don't see any way back for him. |
Asiwaju is very smart. He shapparly comot the VP slot from the equation by choosing Kashim Shettima from North East. O gbe won ni handicap. ![]() |
Cantonese:False claim on SE voting APC on regional level. The South East never voted for any APC governor, neither in 2015 or in 2019. The total Senatorial candidates voted by the South East on the platform of APC are 3 persons - 2 in Imo and 1 in Abia. So what exactly are you saying? Even the Governors who defected to APC like Umahi was ridiculed, while Uzodinma has been tagged "Supreme Court Governor" who will only do one term. The sad truth is that the South East has always been politically naive. Until you all learn how to predict the trends and patterns of voting in Nigeria and most importantly how to build bridges across tribes and cultures, unfortunately Igbo presidency will still be elusive in 2027, in 2031 and in 2035. You made another false claim on Uzor Kalu. Uzor Kalu didn't want to compete with other aspirants in the South because he knew he will be trounced at the primaries - what structure did Kalu have in APC that gave him confidence that he could win? To further drive home my point on political naivety, Kalu chose to back power remaining in the North by supporting Lawan as against it coming back to the South just to spite the Yorubas in the South West who were front liners for the presidential ticket. How did it end? You might chose to disregard what the OP wrote, but what he said is the perfect truth. Obi is just grandstanding and is not going anywhere. The persons I pity the most are the youths he is carrying along for the ride. Igbo youths following him, I understand as he is one of their own. But the minority Yoruba youths that are following him and forming woke online are just an absolute disgrace but then it is a free world. |
Nice one. Bashir Ahmad is loyal and competent. |
Mehn....Amaechi's camp is being decimated in Rivers State. Honestly, Amaechi and Magnus Abe together will have been a stronger force for Wike to contend with, but then egos got the better of them. Right now, APC is going nowhere in Rivers State for governorship elections. However, for the presidential elections, let's see how the dance between Atiku and Wike develops as that might tilt things slightly in favour of APC. |
ivolt:It is Wednesday morning, please don't be a clown. Thank you |
Fiscus105:I watch Journalist Hangouts and there is no bias there. I think you are mistaken on BKO and the guests on JH. He may or may not support Asiwaju, but he doesn't let that cloud his sense of reasoning or prevent him from being objective on the issues being disussed. You need to understand the issue being raised with Arise TV and get the proper context. |

I am quite surprised. With all what he has said and done, I don't see any way back for him.
