babyfaceafrica:Shettima is also very sound. He is an accomplished economist, who rose to the position of DGM in Zenith Bank (Regional Bank Head - covering North East division) before resigning to become Commissioner of Finance under Ali Modu Sheriff. In terms of political popularity though, El-Rufai beats him hands down being a Fulani as against Kashim who is a Kanuri. Issue with El-Rufai though is the aspect of loyalty and the perceived religious extremist baggage he carries. Personally, Tinubu should pick Shettima. Election will be very very close, but they will still scale through. Loyalty is very important in order to have a successfully administration. |
Defection or no defection, APC will sweep Oyo State in the Presidential elections. The Governorship elections though is too close to call as their house is divided between APC and Accord. |
bros, he defected after the primaries were conducted Olaoluwa122: |
Mariangeles:Did he bribe you? Do you know somebody that he bribed? Be careful with your comments especially if you are not able to defend it when called to do so. |
They are both respected leaders of Yoruba land. The only difference being that one is alive and the other is dead. Let's leave it there as trying to find who is more respected is not an ethos of Omoluabi. |
If we are to go with your thinking, then why didn't the North East support their own in Lawan as against giving bloc votes to Asiwaju? Furthermore, In 2019, Atiku from the North East was on the ballot and he was defeated even in his own zone. A strong and grass root oriented politician like Zulum will give Atiku a run for his money in the North East zone. It isn't simply about Number 1 or Number 2. Vistra40: |
It has to be the North East. Aminu Suleiman should be careful not to stoke fires where it is not needed. |
Asiwaju of Nigeria. I'm happy with Dapo Abiodun, he is working hard to put all the previous issues behind and Asiwaju being the man that he is, has a large heart of forgiveness. |
Nazgul:This is what happens when kids talk on historical matters. As at when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union on June 22 1941, they were in control of territory spanning from France to the West, Norway and Finland to the North, the entirety of the North Africa, Balkans and Greece to the South and the entirety of Eastern Europe including Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Western part of Ukraine which wasn't part of the USSR at the time. Nazi Germany invaded the USSR with 6,000,000.00 men across a front line of over 3,000km As to your claim about the Russian Winter and the poor logistics of the Germans, you obviously have poor knowledge of the war on the Eastern Front and your mind has been poisioned by the revisionist history of the West who tried to whitewash Nazi Germany's past so as to use them as an ally against the Soviets. |
crestedaguiyi:Of course you won't see the infrastructure nah. You are in the WhatsApp group of those that see and yet still remain blind. |
ImmaculateJOE:You see the intellect of the son, and you are querying that of the father? Please receive sense. |
Fashola and Obi are not mates. One major drawback of Obi is that he talks a lot and if you delve deep into what he is saying most times, it is hard to correlate his words into tangible solutions for the economy. Furthermore, a lot of youths shouting Obi really do not even bother to critique his ideas or solutions. To them it is simply about being "Obidient" Abeg obidient to what? Most don't even know. |
He likely ignored you for the crass indiscipline you displayed at the Convention ground. Stepping down for an aspirant is not the issue, but to say you are stepping down because you don't want "Muslim-Muslim" ticket is highly uncalled for and very irresponsible. This stupid action was now followed by an SMS from the VP's team urging people not to vote for Tinubu because he will do Muslim-Muslim ticket. Just imagine if the convention ground was now turned into a religious battlefield, who will win? Abeg the man should go back to the US. He has no electoral value. Even one delegate vote, he couldn't contribute to Osinbajo's 235. |
Obviously, the governor chosen from the North East is Professor Babagana Zulum. I know that the North West Governors will want to present themselves as running mate in exchange for their support at the primaries, but in the interest of the party and for us to achieve victory, they should relax. |
Karnice600:I do try to be civil in my comments but for you, I will take an exception. Thank you for displaying your emptiness, now run along and play with your toys. |
Karnice600:Why don't you intelligently and factually critic what I wrote? That will be more helpful than this your shallow attempt at gas lighting. If I am pro-Russia or not is my business. |
Thank you Shattuck: |
Sunday2021:That you are anonymous doesn't make you untouchable. If you are asked to back up what you typed now in a Court of Law, can you do so? |
TWoods:Your comments here isn't factual. Actually, Russia has 5,977 warheads which is more than the United States's 5,428 according to Wikipedia. However, the number of deployed warheads is 1,644 for the US and 1,588 for Russia, but Russia's overall warhead yield (destructive power) is greater than that of the US. With regards to conventional warfare, I think you are very wrong. Important questions you should ask yourself is where will the war be fought and with which weapons. If it is a land war, Russia smacks the US as it has more land assets. if it is an air war, then it will a brutal stalemate as Russia has air to air capabilities combined with a very robust air defence set-up. So while the US will have the edge in terms of quality of planes and their quantity, Russia has the air defence means to protect its own airspace and serve as a backup to the air fleet. With regards to Naval warfare, Russia won't fight a surface war with the US as the US has an overwhelming edge so it will be a submarine based warfare and Russia currently has more subs (both conventional/nuclear) than the US. Furthermore, look at the map of Russia, and the map of the US and tell me how and where the US major conventional naval assets i.e. Aircraft Carriers can be deployed against Russia. They can't go into the Baltic, as Russia will destroy them from Kaliningrad, they can't go into the Black Sea due to the Bosphorus Straight, they can't attack from the Pacific as they have to pass the choke points of the Kuril Island chain which Russia controls or to alternatively go through the South China Sea (between Japan and Taiwan) and that draws in China.. Also note that the farther an Aircraft Carrier is from the area of operations, the lower the payload and operational range of the aircraft it carries as they have to carry more fuel and less bombs. If they attempt by any means to near the coast, then they come into range of land based anti-ship missiles such as the Bastion system. On a side note, from February 24th to date, Russia has launched an approximate total of 7,560 air and sea launched cruise missiles at the rate of 60 per day. Even the US cannot keep up with such rate and this doesn't even include Artillery. Russia's military industrial backbone is state-owned, while that of the US is privately owned. So their output ability at the moment isn't comparable. Secondly, the components and raw materials needed for the manufacture of most US weapons come from Europe or China/Africa (in terms of raw materials - rare earth metals). While Russia is self-sufficient in all its component needs (vacuum tubes and quartz crystals - Russia uses these in place of conventional chips due to their durability) and all raw materials are sourced from within its own territory. Finally, what about food. To fight a conventional war, you need to feed your populace and also your army. US is a net-importer of food and means that any war that affects food supply to the US will cause major problems (just look at the current situation - US is not even directly fighting Russia, yet food inflation is already very high). On the other hand, Russia is a net-exporter of food. It can feed itself conveniently and also export to others. Hence, it won't be affected by food. So these are points to note and digest before drawing conclusions. |
nuland:Some facts to note. It wasn't only the Lourdes base in Cuba that outlived the USSR, the Navy/Air force Base at Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam also outlived the USSR and was only shutdown by Putin in 2002. As to Nicaragua, it recently ratified an agreement with effect from July 1, allowing Russia to place troops and equipment on its territory. So Russia will likely commence usage of Nicaragua's facilities before the year's end. |
TWoods:I think he meant part of Native Russia. After all, Poland, and parts of Bessarabia (Romania & Moldova) were also part of the Russian Empire but they are not core Russian peoples (or core Russian Lands). Rus is spiritually standing on a tripod - Russia, Belarus & Ukraine. Russia - Land of Rus or Greater Rus Belarus - White Rus Ukraine - Borderlands of the Rus (otherwise called Malorussia - Little Russia). The Ukraine means "The borderlands" |
kingphilip:A slip is a slip, whether x100 or x10000. If you claim you are not aware that our security agencies are grossly understaffed, then you must be leaving in a cave. The Nigerian Army is currently deployed in the North East, South East, North West in some states of the North Central on major military operations, while having less than 130,000 personnel. With the issues affecting farming in Nigeria in present, have you starved or have you been to the market to buy something and it is unavailable? To further boost food production and even export more to other countries, is it not worthwhile to improve on security so that more people can go to farm?? Ortom in Benue that has been condemning since time immemorial, how has it helped him? Not everything is done on the pages of newspapers except if you are looking for cheap publicity. Tinubu doesn't need cheap publicity and he has direct access to the President. So he can convey his wishes, desires and opinions directly to President and get the results he wants. Abeg rethink your points. |
kingphilip:Absolutely. They have to imbibe justice and fairness in their internal processes. |
kingphilip:Stop being mischievous. Yes he made that slip of tongue during the Colloquium in Kano. However, his Media team immediately clarified afterwards that he meant 50,000 thousand youths. Now, if you choose to believe or not....that's your problem. The message he was intending to pass was that our Security agencies are being understaffed, and that if we choose to massively recruit personnel, there is adequate food to feed them. Don't you eat Cassava in form of flour? Don't you eat Agbado (Corn) in form of Pap? Don't you eat beans? So why the mischief? |
This is not good at all. Promotion should be by merit and not by tribal or political affiliations. I won't be surprised if they got their promotions through the strings pulled by their Principals - namely the VP and First Lady. All of them are just pretending to be different, thinking that by speaking English they can hoodwink us, but alas they are all the same. Abi is it by unmerited promotions that we will put someone on the moon? Nonsense and ingredients. ![]() |
engrchykae:Absolutely. Well the Ukrainian leadership led by the Comedian-in-Chief is happy to bleed its people in return for Western money....so here we are. |
Ckonnet:I don't think they cared about Russia's red lines until Russia chose to act. Remember the 2008 NATO Bucharest Summit, where Ukraine and Georgia were invited as members-in-waiting? That's where everything started. It now culminated in the Maidan Coup of 2014 and here we are. Same thing is happening in the South China Sea. US never respects anybody else's interest only its own and the EU is just an appendage of the US. |
Ckonnet:Russia was never concerned about the EU. It isn't a military alliance. Russia is concerned about NATO because conflict with it will lead to ruination of itself and also NATO. Ukraine joining NATO (or even intending to do so) was always a redline. |
79733139:Same was said about the USSR. But Hitler in 1941 didn't read the script. In Military planning, you don't plan based on sentiments, but rather on realities. The US has always been interested in invading Russia and clearly developed plans for it. Research: Operation Unthinkable Operation Dropshot Operation Pincher Operation Broiler Operation Offtackle |
AroleOduduwa2:I think you meant to say Argentina |
Ckonnet:You don't call a clear and present danger a trap. Ukraine is at Russia's back and very close to its Industrial and Agricultural Heartland. Allowing to either join NATO or remain hostile is pure suicide. Russia HAD to act. |
AroleOduduwa2:It means that they (The West) write the rules and others are meant to follow it. That doesn't work anymore as Russia has left the WhatsApp chat. China will soon follow suit. |
