'Ora' like 'Elu' is a prefix I've yet to unravel though I have made a little progress on the latter.

Obamakin and Obatala according to my findings were said to have been brothers with Obamakin being the younger one.

Maybe he became an Ooni for a short period and led his folks out of Ife or maybe we have two different Obamakins? As we have two different Oguns?

I have come to realize, after Oduduwa, Obatala's line took over the throne starting with Osangangan Obamakin to Obalufon the second till Oranmiyan came to take the throne by use of force again like his father did the first time.

Obamakin to Obalufon the second are known to identify with Obatala and regarded as his offsprings/relatives.

*edited*
I have always suspected a connection between Obatala and Obamakin..
There's the thought that Obamakin is same as Obalufon I. .. but wouldn't that be having too many names? Obalufon Ogbogbodirin Osangangan Obamakin

End Time Delusions: According to bible, in the end times, expect widespread deception, counterfeit miracles, and the appearance of false prophets. Each of these evils will contribute to an atmosphere that will deceive an untold number of people throughout the world. The Antichrist, possibly a charismatic Muslim with a fake Jesus as a sidekick, will convince his followers he is the answer to the world’s problems. Paul tells us that those who become caught in the Antichrist’s web of deceit will be guilty because they freely choose to enjoy evil while denying the truth.

1. False Bible teachers would be money hungry : They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-3) See some at: www.fakemessiah.com

2. Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3)

3. Earthquakes would be in diverse places (Matthew 24:7). The Bible said there shall be "great earthquakes".

4. Stress would be part of living (2 Timothy 3:1)

5. Many wars would erupt (Matthew 24:6)

6. People would forsake the Ten Commandments as a moral code, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and killing (Matthew 24:12)

7. There would be a cold religious system , in denying God's power (2 Timothy 3:5)

8. Men would substitute fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4). This is so evident at Christmas when the birth of the Savior is lost behind the myth of Santa Claus.

9. Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). The worldwide increase in AIDS deaths is almost inestimable. Over 160,000 Americans die of cancer each year. Another is the issue of Ebola which claimed alot of lives.

10. The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by the scientific world because of its uncanny implication.

11. The institution of marriage would be forsaken by many (1 Timothy 4:3)

12. There would be an increase in famines (Matthew 24:7)

13. Vegetarianism would increase (1 Timothy 4:3-4)

14. There would be a cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

15. The possession of Jerusalem would be at the center of international turmoil (Zechariah 12:3)

16. Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4)

17. There would be hypocrites within the Church (Matthew 13:25-30)

18. There would be an increase of religious cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24)

19. The future would seem fearful to many (Luke 21:26)

20. Humanity would become materialistic (2 Timothy 3:4). The love for material things will increase. Cherishing the things of the world.

21. There would be many involved in travel (Daniel 12:4)

22. The Christian Gospel would be preached as a warning to all nations (Matthew 24:14)

23. Jesus said Christians would be hated "for His name's sake" (Matthew 24:9). Recent bombings worldwide has proved this point.

24: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
(Luke 21:25-26).

25: Youths would become rebellious. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (2 Timothy 3:2)

26: Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, "for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:4). The Bible even reveals their motivation, they love lust (verse 3). They fail to understand that a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to us.

God is not subject to the time that He created. He can flick through time as we flick through the pages of a history book. The reason He seems to be silent, is because He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.

Be wise today take a decision!

All of you end time preachers are dumb.
Many warshuh People travelling? Deadly Disease? False preachers? Increase in famine? Earthquake? Homosexuality? ? At what point in human history did we not have all this in abundance?

There were various Ifes from the beginning of the world to date. Do not take tradition lightly. The first Ife was founded by Obatala and scientifically that might be hundreds of thousands of years ago at least if not millions. How he came to be domiciled at Iranje is what I don't understand as I am not an Awo. How Ogun who led the team that landed on Earth domiciled at Ire, I do not know but Obatala was father of all. Various Obas of many ancient Ifes would have been incarnations of Ogun, Sango, Obatala, Orunmila, though I see all orisa as manifesting a special department of Obatala who is father or leader of all. All of them were also in the team that landed on Earth with civilization. Then the Ifa corpus is muddled up with cross accounts of different orisas incarnated in different places at different times. Obatala as male then as female, the last Sango was the Alaafin who ruled in the 15th century while the first one was part of the team that founded Ife, Duro Ladipo was Sango in his own right too. There have been various Oguns as well. However on the overall there was no struggle between the first Obatala and Oduduwa and it seems somehow apparent that the pre Oduduwa dynasty among the Yoruba had Orunmila on top of it. Prior to that it might be Ogun, then Obatala, I am not sure though bu the male Oduduwa who arrived recently is not their mate, the original Oduduwa that came with the orisas was a woman
With all this I can see that you are even confused with the whole thing. .its normal, I've been there.

In one tale, Ogun is son and heir of Oduduwa, in another he is the one that led Orisha to earth(many more still exist). When you look at both carefully you realize one is Cosmology the other is history

When talking of Obatala, that is totally prehistoric. The new Oduduwa in Ife came recently and the Moremi story must have happened in one of the hundreds of old Ifes that existed before the founding of Offa as Moremi is the matron deity of Offa. After Obatala were people like Orunmila with his own dynasty in Ife, later the new Oduduwa who could not have met Orunmila not to talk of Obatala on the ground. We may be talking of hundreds of thousands of years of history, maybe billlions of years. There are various place names in Ifa which some say corresponds to places like Australia, West Indies and etc.
Nah, u got it all messed up bro. I used to be of this opinion too. Many tales using names like "orunmila" "Obatala" are simple reconstructions of some long historical event to explain some spiritual stuffs

When we speak pure history, Obatala was the opposer of Oduduwa around the 12th century. .not even 9th century

Then, there is also the Ekiti CULTURAL group/subdivision of the Yoruba race who share dialect and culture. Ilesha belonged to the former, not the later, they are culturally ijesha just like Esa Oke, Ibokun, Erin Ijesha.

Ugbo folks occupied Mokuro axis with Osangan Obamakin as their king.

Obatala was exiled to Ugbo's Mokuro and being the most powerful, Obamakin vacated his throne for him to be king till he was apeased to return to Iranje Ile but remained king in both places afterwards till the Ugbo moved out of protest.

Ekiti is the only homogeneous state in the S/W with a dialect and they all accepted this but you can only claim there exist variations in the border areas with influence of Ijesa, Igbomina, Okun and Akoko. Yes, Ekiti has more than 16 kingdoms that exist at present in Ekiti State, one of those is Akure; to Ondo Ekimogun, she only shared boundary with Ekiti and Akoko not Akure or Owo. Ekiti was the most ancient as they once occupied Ife; Ado is referred to as "Ule IFA" as per Orunmila and Agboniregun. One can't make incantation without mentioning Ajero, Alara or Ikole. It's the dialect you can refer to as middle 'passage' of the Yoruboid languages including Igala and Itsekiri. One or two Ekiti towns use 'Atta' instead of 'Oba',e.g, Atta of Ayede. Archeological discovery pointed to the fact that Ekiti area has been inhabited for thousands of years and the most ancient human bones in West Africa was found in Iwo Eleru near Akure. You need to study Akure, Ilara-moki, Igbara-Oke, Iju,etc in Ondo State and Ise, Emure, Igbara-odo, etc in Ekiti State to know that these people are the same in culture, dialect, food(pounded yam),etc. Oyo empire never cover Ekiti just like Ife; Ekitiland is mainly of thick forest surrounded by great hills and mighty rocks, very difficult for Oyo caravan, horsemen to penetrate but Oyo expanded very well in the savana up to Ghana. The main challenge was with Bini and they didn't brought Ekiti under their authority but settled in Ado-Bini(Akure) for sometime to exert some influence on surrounding communities and it was always wars as towns like Ikere, Iyin, Otun, etc would never accept to be subservients to any empire until Ibadan power block emerged from dead greater Oyo Empire lording it over every Yoruba territorie only Afonja warriors (reminant of Oyo empire army in Ilorin cum the released Hausa slaves, Baruba, Tapa and few Fulani) in Ilorin could engaged Ibadan but Ekiti too could not tolerate Ibadan, and their 'ajeles' and soldiers were brutally slaughtered, this led to Ekiti parapo (kiriji) war with Ijesa support and Ijebus supplying Ekitis with the firearms needed to defeat Ibadan, the enemy of everyone then. Ekiti parapo armies under the Command of Ogedengbe were already at Ikire before British broke peace....the rest they say, is history. we are now Yorubas and we are one, whether some were of ancient Atlantis, Ponecians, Semitic, Hamitic, kushites, Nok etc, we are now one...
What I'm saying is that Akure left the Ekiti arrangement preferring independence. Whether they are culturally Ekiti or not, They remain Everly close to us but hold themselves distinct from Ekiti. .and this is not about Ondo state/Ekiti state. Ijesa are also culturally and dialectically identical to Ekiti
Btw There's no single "Ekiti" dialect, like you said there are variants but we understand ourselves perfectly well. in my home town we say "mee se" others say "mi ke se". "Ifaki tia" others may say "Ado ria"
That is why Ekiti say "Ekiti a ti parapo, okan la wa nse" we used to be different. If care is not taken Imesi will be said to be Ekiti. .maybe even Ilesa because Ilesa were also in Ekiti parapo

It was Ibadan not Oyo empire and this led to kiriji war between Ekiti (& Ijesa) and Ibadan. Oyo speaking & Ekiti groups have the largest populations among Anago or Lucumi tribe( Akure land about 3 LGA + 3 LGA in kwara are part of Ekiti) many old people in present Yorubaland hate being called Yoruba just like Itsekiri, olukumi & other Yorubas in Cuba, Brazil, who preferred Lucum; it refers to only Oyo group but for political identity, Ijebu, Ekiti, Ife, Okun, Akoko, Owo, Ondo, Ijesa, Igbomina, Ilaje, Ikale, Egba, etc now accepted to be called so.
Well , Oyo claim to have had Ijebu (except the waterside) and Ekiti which a lot of people seem to disagree.

I can't speak for ijebu but I know some parts of Ekiti were under Oyo, the administration passed unto Ibadan and expanded further.
