Indeed. 'Finally' being the operative word.

TV/MoviesRe: Daniel Craig Is An Insult To The James Bond Persona by MadMax1(f): 6:00pm On Aug 24, 2009
Lol JeSoul, what's there to say? Craig is the KING, and Atreus know it. He has depth and cold charisma. And whatta bod! He's vulnerable, utterly ruthless, and when he kills, sexy as hell. He and Connery are the best Bonds. And his acting chops? Craig's the only award-winning Bond. Feeling a little nostalgic for mysogynistic aston-martin driving British civil servants and brainless women who coo "Oooh James"? There are 20 previous instalments to knock yourself out with, yeh?

You're an Xboxer? shocked See her complaining about 'grown' men and women obssessing about video games. Like the bible says, Before you remove the PS3 speck in ya sister's eye, remove the xbox iroko tree from ya own.

MOROCCAN OIL
4 STARS

It conditions chemically overprocessed hair, detangles, and really softens hair. You can use an egg+aloe vera mix to condition your hair yourself, 20-40 minutes in a steam cap. Shampoo, towel dry and apply this oil, then style. A little goes a long way and it smells heavenly.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS FROM THESE COSMETIC RANGES ACTUALLY WORK?
Clinique
Mary Kay
Avon
Clarins
Elizabeth Arden
Makari
Diane Stalder
L'Oreal

Xbox is okay, but it’s not PS3. More than half are useless within a year. The gaming patter was a dig at JeSoul actually. She has funny ideas about how married women talk. Anyone planning to see DISTRICT 9?

Along with Taxi Driver, WALL-E, and Les Diaboliques, it was one of the best movies I saw last year. Intelligent,multi-layered,absorbing drama, worthy of its Best Picture oscar nomination. Haven't seen its NL reviews. Not that they matter. What have you got against the movie? I know it's not high cinematic art like Little Man and White Chicks, but you have to admit it had 'something'.

Who is this 'Ndigbo' that didn't select Obi as their leader? The majority of Anambra voters who cast their vote for him, or the court that ruled in his favour after being presented with evidence that he won? Or is it his asinine PDP opponent that 'Ndigbo' chose to lead the state? You should know, since you speak for Ndigbo.

@poster
Bet you're sorry you came cryin' here by now. You did a foolish getting married to some poor, luckless guy to spite the boyfriend you love but who won't marry you. If you don't put some distance between you and the guy, you WILL cheat. You're already most of the way there. Talk to people you trust who won't judge you,so they can give you the support you need to fight this obssession of yours. Best if you told your husband everything, come clean and ask him to forgive you, you really have been most unfair to him. He won't like it but he might be willing to give you the strong shoulder you need to forget the other guy, overwhelm you with his own awesomeness and all that, perhaps even change cities. He'll be alerted to saving his marriage, and he'll value your honesty. Don't fight this thing alone; you're too far gone into this other man.
PoliticsRe: Lagos “deports” 160 Northern Beggers by MadMax1(f): 12:28am On Aug 24, 2009
Tough one. The beggars are Nigerians, and there’s no such thing as ‘affording’ Lagos like it’s the presidential suite at the Ritz. Every city has rich, poor, beggars, hustlers, and everything in between. Those beggars have every right to be in Lagos; if it’s against the law to panhandle, they should be notified and anyone who breaks that gets his ass hauled in jail or some other thing.

But the problem is, everyone’s angry with the North. They keep getting away with murder. They move about unmolested in the South, but maul other Nigerians in their states, who have every right to be there,  and hide their hostility behind religion. Every year, they do this, and yet freely beg or go about shouting ‘dolla, poun’’ in other parts of the country and no one harasses them. They won’t educate their kids, their governors won’t allow babies to be vaccinated, and they freely export their diseased behinds to other parts of the country. They’re a nuisance to themselves and a headache to the rest of the country.

If their fellow Nigerians pay in blood for living in their states, they deserve a bit of payback, out of nothing but very satisfying spite. And not just beggars: indigenes of every Northern state hostile to other tribes shouldn’t be allowed in those other tribe’s territories. Not as a permanent thing, but just so they learn the meaning of the word, ‘consequences’. They go rampaging and killing innocent Nigerians and no one is ever brought to book.  Won se gbe niyen. Not saying those beggars should take the blame for it, not saying but Fashola was right in expelling them like so much vermin, but dang, it feels good to hear it.
Christianity EtcRe: The Gospel Of Mary Magdalene by MadMax1(f): 9:43pm On Aug 23, 2009
@post
I saw a documentary on that, with world-reknowned experts examining the document and pronouncing it an original, and many many other compelling facts and evidence. With all the Bible doctoring done, if you read through the NT you'll still get a sense that Christ had an extraordinary relationship with Madgalene. And the Vatican did own up to a few things in 1969 or so, when they removed the label 'Penitent' from Madgalene's name. No end to the damage the Vatican and its indescribable popes have done to Christianity, but all that's in the past.

[color=#550000]How true. I used it for about 1 month last year. The good part was that I used it during winter when I was just sleeping in and not getting much sun. Loved my skin!
Using it in the Nigerian tropical weather was another thing though.
Since then, I've used Black Opal Papaya Body Butter which works just fine! smiley
You use a suncreen in tropic climes, right? Did Black Opal work the same as the Olay serum? Good skin fruit, papaya.
RomanceRe: Nothing by MadMax1(f): 6:25pm On Aug 23, 2009
You're only human. Was he your best friend or your former boyfriend?Your relationship sounds pretty intense, and ordinary friends don't discuss marrying each other, with one saying he wasn't ready. He sounds like a decent bloke, telling you he won't mess around with you since you're married. Have you been with your husband awhile? I have to agree with the poster that said you're being unfair to him. Marriage's a huge step for a guy to make, but he made it, which says a lot.  No one can tell you what to do but if you cheat around, even though it won't appear that way at first, there'll be hell to pay later. Marriage isn't a joke; if you didn't love your husband you shouldn't have married him. Besides, cheating says a lot about the kind of person you are, and if the guy you're fixated on won't cheat with a married woman, you can bet even if you win him over to sleeping with you, he's a guy afterall, he certainly won't commit himself to marrying you if you leave your husband later. Once a cheat, always a cheat, you know? Grow up, lady. Handle the situation so you'll be fair to yourself, and everyone concerned.
TV/MoviesRe: Depiction Of Nigerians In "District 9" by MadMax1(f): 5:46pm On Aug 23, 2009
smokie:
The Nigerian gangs in the movie could've been Somalians, Zimbabweans, Mozambicans and there would still have been beef coming from Nigerians, so to say that Blomkamp's portrayal betrays a xenophobic angle is too simplistic. Basically, Nigerians(specifically Igbos) are not well regarded in South Africa and Blomkamp just uses this as a general reference to "outsiders" but like I said before, this could've been any group.
Sheer nonsense, that remark. If a country's nationals are portrayed in a bad light n a movie, it's the norm  for its government and its citizens to protest it. And they do protest; from Russia to Asia to Eastern Europe. A storm of protest greeted BORAT from the offended country, funny as hell as ithat movie was. But since it's sub-human Nigerians that are concerned, they cannot protest. They must shut up and take it, no?

And if they could have been Somalians,Zimbabweans,Mozambicans, why weren't they? They're in SA's orbit and it would've made more sense. Why tap into the general current of Hate All Things Nigerian to depict them, in a Peter Jackson movie no less, unflatteringly? Denying SA is a xenophobic country is like saying it doesn't have an AIDS problem; not worth arguing about. You yourself can barely disguise your own lack of enthusiasm for Nigerians. There are always 'reasons' and 'justifications' for every evil, including xenophobia: "Nigerians should ask themselves why they aren't well regarded", as if criminals aren't in every culture, as if your country isn't bursting at the seams with despicable people and despicable acts. If a person's so crass as to judge an entire country but the actions of a few, twell, that says plenty.

Other than that, I've heard great things about the movie, and the lead performance. Some friends have seen it and give it a five-star rating. I'm going to see it this week myself, and I know I'm going to have a good time.

You can buy it at any supermarket or drugstore. A good apricot scrub. 1 small bottle pure aloe vera (not the type formulated for drinking).Goes for about $9 or N1100. 1 plastic skin scrub brush. Wouldn't recommend murdering some aloe vera plant and collecting its juice; too many different types.
