GistMore1: Members of Islamic sect, Shi’ites on Tuesday vowed to continue their protest on Wednesday despite the killing of their members.
The sect said this at the funeral ceremony of their dead members in Suleja, Niger State. A statement by Abdullahi Muhammad Musa of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement, said: “Police carnage against followers of Sheikh Zakzaky continues senselessly.
“Yesterday, at Federal Secretariat, the bureaucratic seat of the Nigerian government, police gunned down close to forty protesters, wounded scores and arrested very many.
“Senseless killing as this can never put off a conceptual cause as the Islamic movement is, and the struggle continues.
“The rites of funeral of the Killed took place today at Suleja. Enough, hundreds of people attended the funeral prayer, including members of their immediate families, friends and other people from around the neighbourhood and far afield; and colourful wreaths were laid on their coffins.
“Even though heavily armed forces laid siege of brothers and sisters at Banex Plaza today, teargassing and shooting live rounds of ammunition, free EL-Zakzaky protests will continue nonstop unless our leader regain his freedom to go and tend for his seriously deteriorating health condition.
“Trigger-happy security personnel should know that senseless killing can never put us off the streets of Abuja, it only adds more power to our elbow; no amount of cruelty and inhumanity will deter us. Our leader should just be released. Tomorrow is another day for us, and protests continue.”

remababy2: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has adviced Christians to always pray and show love to their enemies including insurgents as this is what God expects of them.
Osinbajo gave the advice when he spoke in Lagos at the National headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Nigeria yesterday Sunday July 21st. According to Osinbajo, he is always shocked when men of God speak bitterly about their enemies.
“The gospel of Jesus Christ is a contrarian gospel because it does not agree with our flesh. The Bible for instance says we must pray for our enemies, bless those who curse us and even those who persecute us. But our flesh says we should curse those who curse us. In fact, curse them so much that they will not again dare to curse. The Scriptures say we should not revenge. The power of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ lies in that very contrarian nature. The gospel speaks to that which we do not want to accept.
I have seen as I travel around the country how God’s love is demonstrated by other people, ordinary Christians. A woman whose two children were killed and her father was also injured in the North East. I spoke to her and she said, we still must pray for these people. These people are the people to whom we have been called. I was surprised. I have heard leaders of our faith who speak with such bitterness.
When I heard this woman who had lost her two children speak, I knew she spoke from the very depth of the grace that God gives to those who truly believe in him and I know it is that kind of love that can conquer all situations and win souls and win over the worst of men and the worst of women. It is that exceptional kind of love that Christ himself taught us. But it is so difficult. Yet that is the gospel.” he said buhari don use this one Brian to make his jaz. If someone get mad and enter market square u know what will happen to him. This man don mad enter market Na to enter square left |

Politics › Re: Ruga: Don’t Sell Land More Than 5 Hectares, Abia Government Warns Citizens by madmohamed(m): 2:55pm On Jul 19, 2019 |
Lordthruce: Abia state government says it has introduced a policy directing relevant agencies to scrutinize and ascertain the purpose behind the sale of lands more than five hectares in the state.
Mr. Uche Ihediwa, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, said the policy made it mandatory for applications for Certificate-of-Occupancy for such a purchase.
He said: “With the present dispensation, any request for land will have to be scrutinized.
“The state government’s policy is to scrutinize it and make sure that it is not something that is convertible into Ruga. We have gone ahead to sensitize our communities to be sure that nobody sells a large quantity of land.
“There is a standing instruction in the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning that sale of any land above five hectares will be scrutinized."
Ihediwa added, “Sometime in September 2014, the Federal Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing requested land to build a trailer park.
“There was nothing untoward about the request by the federal government under the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
“They were looking for 50 hectares of land in that place but we went round and discovered it was only 20 hectares.”
According to him, the negotiation was subsequently aborted and the land penciled down for a car assembly plant. buhari our eyes are open kn. Even if you can come from back door we will be waiting for you |

Abdullahi said the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides for the free movement of citizens across the country.
The professor also described the Fulani herdsmen as businessmen who can move freely to access the resources they require for their business.
“I am a Fulani man my ancestors were in the bush, but we find reasons to settle in one place. I have cows and anytime they cause damage I pay compensation and so that is the way it will be.
“Look, the Fulanis can defend themselves more than anyone else in this country. More than anyone else in this country, the Fulani man can always defend himself. Go and read the diary of Lord Lugard, who created this country.
Go and read what he said about the Fulanis. In fact, without our efforts to restrain the Fulanis, things would not have been easy for many communities.
No community can defend itself against the Fulanis if they want to fight. It is known sociologically and historically; nobody can fight them if they want to fight.
They are in the millions in West Africa and they can always mobilise themselves to defend their people anywhere in West Africa.

bellachibaby: The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has declared that insecurity has been tamed across the country by the Nigerian army.
He stated that “all these cries of insecurity which some groups and individuals are taking it as a political game, I think they should have a rethink because it is no longer the case.”
He spoke during a visit to the troops stationed at 1 Division Super Camp in Kuyello, Birnin Gwari in Kaduna on Monday.
He said that the efforts of the military in the northeast and northwest, as well as other parts of the country, had reduced insecurity in the country, NAN reports.
Buratai restated that both the banditry in the northwest and Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast have been tactically defeated.
He warned that those playing politics with the security situations in the country should desist, adding that the army would not hesitate to take action against them.
According to him, there has been no major attacks in the last two tp three weeks because of the new strategy.
”Apart from some isolated remote areas as a result of some other factors, the attacks have drastically reduced.
”That means we are winning and it is a great success which people should be assured.
”Insecurity has been tamed right now in the northeast and in the northwest and even in other areas we are doing so well.
”Our troops are deployed in support of the government, civil police and indeed the civil authorities,” he said.

Politics › Re: Stop Playing Politics With Olakunrin’s Death- Presidency To Obasanjo, Others by madmohamed(m): 7:12am On Jul 16, 2019 |
Nwaforj44: The Presidency has appealed to those playing politics by capitalising on the killing of Mrs Funke Olakunrin in Ondo state, to stop it.
In a strong statement issued Monday night by Garba Shehu, the SSA Media, the Buhari government said: “Times of tragedy like these are not the time for politics. It reveals only disrespect for the departed and her family. And we hope that those who stand in positions of influence recognise and understand this”.
Although the statement did not identify those who have been exploiting the tragedy to hit the Buhari administration, in the last 72 hours some critical remarks have been credited to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Professor Wole Soyinka, Pastor Tunde Bakare, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and a host social media commentators, with sympathy for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
On Monday, Obasanjo penned another letter in his series to President Buhari, using the tragedy as anchor and warning that the nation is at the precipice, “dangerously reaching a tipping point where it may no longer be possible to hold danger at bay”.
In the statement issued by the presidency on Monday night, government made a pointed appeal to the critics and appealed for national unity.
“It is incumbent on all leaders across the country to consider their language and its potential consequences. Insecurity is an issue that Nigeria must face together as one nation – united”.
The statement noted public concerns on the unfortunate attack and recalled the concern of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
“The President has already issued a statement expressing his heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs Funke Olakunri and followed up with a telephone call.
“The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has in addition, paid a visit to the grieving family in Akure, Ondo State.
“Her death is a tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family”, it said.
