Nwanne, onyenwe anyi ga agba gi ume, mmeri ga abu nke gi, i ga- ekwuputakwa ya na ogbako a.(Means) The Lord will strengthen you, you will succeed and you will testify in this forum) I wish you success in Jesus name. Go and take your visas. My brother na true story you talk. The securtiy tension we pass tru in PH is becoming hell. I drove with my wife and 2months old baby to get her passport only to be stopped as early as 8.02am for stop and search. May God help us in PH. My dear u tryooooooooooo to drive your family so far at this bad and busy roads of lagos. I pray for journey mercies to you all in Jesus name.

okeymen: Hello all,

congrats to those that have had successfull interviews. infact, this forum is so full of interviews i almost feel like i am dragging people back by talking about medicals and police clearance which i did on monday this week. well sha, pardon me for the post cos it might help someone

i drove all the way from port harcourt to lagos the sunday before and was suprised at how good the roads are. anyway, my first instinct was to go and have a look at the hospitals so as to decide which to use. my first port of call was children's practice and i was surprised to get to something called a hospital only to be told that the dont open on sundays. well i wasnt allowed to put down my name either but was adviced to come around 6am to be sure i was attended to early even though the hospital opens at 8am. now imagine doing this with a family of 4! anyway, i managed to get someone very close to do that for me for a token 1k so that i could then show up at my convenince the following day.

it wasnt necessary for me to go see the other hospital cos this was the closest to alagbon where i was to go to later for my police clearance. i got there 8am, was given a teller to go and pay the consulation fees (12K for adults and 7k for children) and forms to sign authorising the hospital to use our information and to disclose the findings to the embassy. a little after nine o'clock, we were called in to have our blood samples taken and then went for X-ray (adults only). following the xray, we were called in to see the doctor were asked a few questions and then based on our immunization records, were sent for immunisation. all this took the greater part of 3 hours and so by 12ish, we were thru and the headed off to alagbon. let me just say that if you have records for immunisation, take them along with 2 copies, especially for kids. they will have to enter them in their recods and list whatever is required (based on age and existing records). then be ready to take a series of injections which may leave you feeling a lot of pain or even slightly ill. my older kid got two inections and cried so much that the younger one started crying even before it got to her turn. hers was 3 injections and she slept the rest of the day cos they knocked her out. also the consultation fee here must be paid to the bank but the immunization fees (which is often the bigger money) can be paid by POS.

all this while, i was in contact with obatide and femmyshow2005, two of my nairaland friends who i do not know in person. however, i had the honour and priviledge of meeting femmyshow2005 in person and i must say, he is a really nice guy wink . he actually came out of his office to meet with me and we even took pictures together.

So, at 1pm, i show up with my family at alagbon for my police clearance. there is a gun totting policeman at the gate who asks me what i want. i feared i had driven into the lions den becasue in port harcourt where i come from, you dont want to be found loitering around places like the state CID. anyway i tell him what i want and he says i should follow a man wearing a police id card and the guy walks ahead and asks me to park right inside the compound under the shed of the trees where the sun wont disturb my kids in the car. i notice on the wall that the parking space was reserved for O/C something/something and i thought to myself how different lagos is from port harcourt. in ph, you cant drive up to the gate, the whole area is barricaded and you must drop all communications gadgets at the reception before you are allowed in. for those that read my earlier post about that visit, you will recall that i said the place was 100% free of touts. well, here i was sitting down in front of the asp gisting happily with him, my car parked in O/C something/something's space pinging with obatide who did not want me to be exploited (God bless him) and in no time at all, it was out.

one thing struck me though, the police men there consider the american embassy guys as irritating people . they always come to verify the records and even when they waste their time to make them leave in frustration they just sit there patiently until whenever they are attended to. i strongly feel that these are nigerians that work for the embassy and it is good to know that we have people like that. i also whish that other government prastatals can borrow a leaf from the NPF to free their offices of touts. especially immigrations and customs.

on a final note, whatever good feelings we had during the medicals were eroded when my wife went back to get the results because she was kept there for another 3 hours. shame on them. besides, we were refused a copy of the results which i think is wrong because we have a right to our own health records and i strongly believe it was also stated in the document we signed. i will take it up with them.

Hi Mr. Femishow2005, there is no need lashing out on westcode for the publication on Jan bulletin. If you dont believe it keep mute. Refer to old threads and see where it had happen when if not same westcode or another person gave the cut off for the month before the bulletin came out and it was so after some members said many bad things about the publication. I respect this young man for his contributions and if you doubt him you can call kcc. I sent mail to them and they reply that am cuurent and that I should wait for my second letter. my no na 85**. Dont you see that mr westcode can be right?
Please walk by faith not sight. Faith moves mountains

femishow2005: Mr. Westcode the bulletin Man smiley. Correct you're on point jare. We can't contest this your info even it's not yet out officially. Nice one bro

congrats. You are very lucky and heaven had decided that you would have the visa so no man can stop it.

dahunsiolajide: To God be the Glory , We were interviewed yestarday and the consula approved our visa , this will be picked up in two days time . Let me use this medium to thank Each and everyone Known and unknown in this forum , God will always intervened in your issue.
I will like to point out few things for those preparing for the interview so that you will not fall into the error i almost fall into . I am a passive member of the forum , i have enjoyed and love all the contribution , infact this is my second home once am of KICC website . the a day to my our interview I had Naira with me to pay for my family and myself , but i was confused either to Go for interview with Naira or Dollars Denomination. So i dashed to the embassy since my office in VI and i have moved my family to a nearby hotel , meet only the security and ask him the denomination i can pay with but the security guy said this is Nigeria and it should be in naira so I left , on getting back to hotel my wife said we should contact a family friend in Texas who just won and left last year , so they advice that we should go with dollar because their conversion rate will be in black market rate and that is 172 to a dollar . I called aboki and change all the money to $ and all i need is 1320, for family of 4 and i got 1300 for abok he does not have $20 cause its always scarce . so i decided to go for interview that i will balance the $20 with naira denomination .
At the consulate office where am to pay the cashier object that i cannot pay with both denomination but One . Either naira or dollar not both I pleaded and pleaded but she told me they are not her money and there is nothing she could do than for me to pay for 3 and comeback to pay for 1 later , and i know our visa may not be granted since the payment is not completed . so i started looking around in the office there and meet security but no luck . To God be the Glory , one guy came to pay and he pays in Dollar, i approach him and he said i gave her dollars and she is meant to give me change in Dollar if she give me my change in dollar i will sell you 20 but if she gives naira am sorry because i am press for time . so i pray that God should help me because the logistics of Coming back to complete the visa process and you may not have the same prefference of the first appearance . so the-same lady came and give the guy $20 and he sold it dollar to me that is how i am able to complete the payment and i waited for the interview which only lasted for 2mins and i was give the the noble 2 papers for my pickup and USIC

to God be the Glory if that guy was not there at that time , .......

Good morning house. Am very happy for the echoes of testimonies bouncing on this forum. Indeed God is faithful and we shall testify in Jesus name. I salute Obatide, XYZ, G2Glory, westcode etc for their efforts to make this forum so lively and educating. Please as earlier suggested lets keep together even after the crossover like the suggestion of yearly reunion. Those who have crossed should tell us how, what and which of your trips and stay.
My Brother over there rightly told me to have enough cash with me as not to become societal nuisance. Please try to treat malaria before you leave and try to have some malaria drugs with you. I remember I bought some drugs for one of the dv2013 to use there, else they will quarantine you over there because malaria is stigmatized over there like AIDS here.
I pray that next week will bring glorious wind of testimonies and January bulletin will add smiles to our faces in Jesus name........Amen

My dear, the timing of God is different from that of man. No time is hard for God to work his wonders. If your claims are true, for the sake of Mcro the hand of clock shall be still and he will testify in this forum. May the God of Gideon and Abraham who led Malcolm, XYZ, ItyRoyal, Darhmee, Ayomide, and others in this forum lead Mcro to claim his visa in Jesus Name amen.

TravelRe: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by Madu77(m): 9:26am On Dec 04, 2013
Darhmee: Hi guys.. so here was how it started.. I did the visa lottery for myself as the principal and my mom as the principal back then. So when my mom won, the only the only thing i have was the confirmation number.. i wasnt sure if i registered my dad and my siblings with her but with faith, we continued the processing. My dad didn't want to go with us because he has businesses he is running here in NIgeria and also, my older brother is over-aged. So, i and my mom decided to do the processing for just the both of us.
However, because of the rareness of our case, people said we will be turned down, they said we will be rejected bla bla but i and mom paid them no listening ears.. That really helped!

So today, our interview was for 7am, we got there 5:45am, and at about 6:15, we were told to line up, we did security checks, people's powder, phones, sharp objects, liquid, charger, containers were disposed..(please do not bring any of these with u to the embassy, its an lot of trouble finding how to dispose them).

So at about 8am, we were inside the hall, my mom paid for the both of us and when it was time for submission of document, the woman in charge told my mom to go out and take another passport photograph because the one she has with her was with a blue background. So my mom went out and the cheapest rate she could find for 6 passport photograph was N2000!! Can u imagine?!.

So she brought the passport and while we were submitting our document, the woman asked why my dad wasnt included in the first submission and my mom said it was because he wasn't interested, the woman shook her head! Right there, i had thought we would be rejected.

So at about 10:15, our number beeped on window 17.. the CO was a beautiful and young black American
She told us to swear, took our fingerprints and then the conversation below ensued
CO: what is ur name ma'am
My Mom: xxxx
CO: Did u fill the lottery form urself
MM: Yes
CO: So why is ur sister here with you:
MM: She is not my sister, she is my daughter ((we both laughed)
CO: OMG.. Im so sorry.. Wow madam.. u look so young and she is gorgeous
MM and I: Thank you, u look beautiful too
CO:. Who is philip and why is he not going with u
MM.. he is my husband and bla bla
CO: what is your highest level of education
MM.. bla bla
So she excused herself for a minute, came back, typed some things into the computer, gave us 2 sheets of paper.. (i was already jumping by then lol). She then said, your visa has been approved, pick up this this this that.. i wasnt listening anymore cheesy

So guys im not gonna lie to you, i and my mom prayed and fasted for days before attending that interview.. we even went to a 7 nights vigil that ended last SUnday.. If not for prayers and God's favour, we wopuld have been denied. Please lets prepare ourselves and pray to the God/gods we believe in.

I thank every member of this page.. i dont want to mention names cos i appreciate you ALL.. God bless and i wish the people who are yet to go for their interview SUCCESS SUCESS SUCESS..

Cheers!

PS: Malcom 28 and ayodim.. big congrats to your family.. we were at the embassy the same time, can you describe yourselves? i was the lady with the cream blazer and my mom is the one with the african fabric jacket smiley
Congrats my dear, The Lord is Good and Faithful in all His doings. He answers prayers and I rejoice with you and your Mom. Wish you divine favor in all that pends for your movement in Jesus Name... Till we see in the wonder land. I pray and wish to say that all dv2014 will have a day of reunion to give thanksgiving to God no matter the state you stay in USA. God bless America. Bravo my sister

chinny2014: good evning my e-family,tnk u guys for d wonderful wrk uar doing here.
plz i hv a couple of questions to ask
1) My wife is a 2014 Dv winner,we actually played d lottery as couple bt wt her maiden name since we hv nt done change of name. Nw dt her maiden name hv bn changed, will i use d new name for her int'l passport n oda documents or continue wt d maiden name dt she won wt.
2) She will delivery (By d special Grace of God) within last wk of
Jan,if she is current dn,do u adviced we contact kcc if she hv nt
received her 2NL or wait wn she recieve d 2NL and contact d Lagos
consular office, dis bc i heard dt any update in one's file will affect d time he will receive d 2NL wch i dnt wnt to alter d interview date.
tnks alot,awaiting ur candid responses
Congrat to her. She would have played with her new surname that is the new married name. There no issue on it, put all records together, her certificates, marriage certificate which must be a date earlier that the day she played the lottery(Since she played as married).
The baby issue: I have such though when I submitted my forms I indicated that my wife was heavy. If she puts to bed, fill form dsp 230 1 & 11 for the baby, get 2x2 passport and international passport for the baby and come for your interview with these with all prove that you have the baby(Birth certificate if possible ante natal records). Note, you will still pay $330 forthe baby.

I got this info from KCC and lagos IV consular. hope this will help

toye88: Thanks @outstandingsand...
@bukiema...i will try and list

after the swearing and finger print, the questions asked were:
CO: what are you doing now
ME: Working at...
CO: when did you start working:
ME: 20....
CO:Before now what were you doing
ME: Masters
CO: What skool
Me: Univ....
CO: ohh I love that skool. What is your job function
ME: Risk Mgt
CO: how come you are not doing something related to your course
ME: started working in this particular industry & I have since been there.
CO: ok..thats good

After some few clicks she smiled and told me congratulations and welcome to USA. By the way, the CO was an african american (beautiful lady!)...so I guess my mind was not in the questions being asked cheesy... she then gave me 2 papers (1 for visa pick up, the other USCIS payment).

I forgot to inform you guys that my interview date was shifted. It was initially billed for October 31st, however, I received a call informing me of the new date of 13th Nov... I was a bit annoyed because I felt a mail should have been used to back up the call (for me that was standard going by my training). so i mailed them that same day...the response i got was stunning...I was told I could not reschedule a date after the date advised (13th) and if i missed the interview that would be all. waiting be dis, see me see wahala, na me beg u say make u shift am?...was so furious so I almost sent a stinker mail to them...but after persuasion from my friend and colleague, I dropped the idea...

The cab that took me there had no bright head light... was scared wen we got to 3rd mainland and the whole place was dark...this was arnd 4.45...@bukiemma I tink I have tried...need to get back to work!
Congrats my dear. It is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes. Wish you all the best in your preparations.

XYZZ: House, first of all, i would like to thank every body in this forum for all your kind encouraging advise and support, its always nice to have people like you guys. I am so grateful to be part of this family.

It always nice to have a strong defence if you are not sure of some documents should the CO ask you about them. I have gone to US embassy sometime in 2007, which i lied that i was in the Nigeria Navy, all in the name of yanky... I also said i was married then but all na lie, anyways they denied my self and 2 of my guys visa. So i was so scared that these will come up. Even my Waec date of birth says 1986 why my International Passport is carrying my real date of birth 1979, i was also sacred that this might come up. To cut the stories, God always have his ways. I thank God cos none of all these errors were asked.

My Interview:

Our Number deep in windows 15:

CO: Good morning Sir
Me: Good morning ma

CO: Are you Mr. XYZZ
ME: Yes ma, and she turned to my wife and asked her the same question

CO: Can you please raise your left hand and say u will say the truth and nothing but the truth?
Me: Yes ma

CO: can i take your finger print
Me: Sure, so she took our finger print:

Co: Whats your highest level of education
Me: XYZ

Co: What year did you get married
Me: XYZ

Co: What’s the date of birth of your son
Me: XYZ

Co: What do you do at work
Me: YXZ

Co: For how long have you been married
Me: XYZ

She started typing and brought out 2 paper and advice us on how to pay our Green Card fee, and said welcome to America; i asked her if that’s all? And she said yes that’s all.

I just want to thank God cos i have been praying and asking God for easy interview and that was what God did for my family, my wife is a lawyer and the CO did not ask her any questions, i was suppressed.

For people that are waiting for their interview, listen the visa is yours go and pick. Texas loading........
Bros, kindly drop your email for me. If I am done with my interview, I will be heading to Texas too. My case no may likely be february. May God who showed you this favor never sleep when it comes to my day of Interview IJN

Suretreasure: Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.
I had a successful Interview last week.
N.B: I did my interview outside Nigeria
Pre-interview during submission of documents.
CO: What's your occupation?
Me: Student
CO: Which school?
Me: Answered
CO: How old are you?
Me: Answered
The CO then asked for the documents one after the other and also asked if I've any other documents she hasn't asked for. I gave her all my supporting documents & she choose the needed ones out of them. Then, I did the finger print.
CO: Pls, go and have your sit, you'll be call to the interview room shortly. (Immigrants are interviewed specially in a room)
The real Interview with the CO.
CO: Sorry for the mispronunciation of your name, can you pls correct me? (Immigrants are not assigned numbers since we're few)
Me: I pronounced it for him syllabically.
CO: I know you've been to many countries, tell me what you're doing here
Me: I'm a studying
CO: What are you studying?
Me: Medicine
CO: O.k. Have you ever been to the States?
Me: No
CO: Did you've any relatives there?
Me: No
CO: Then, who is the person you filled on the form?
Me: My Dad's friend
CO: How did he became friend with your Dad?
Me: I explained vividly
CO: Can you tell me something about the Germany stamp on your passport?
Me: I applied for a Germany transit Visa but was rejected.
CO: Why were you rejected?
Me: Incomplete document. The Interviewer ask for my bank acct statement which I didn't go with for my Interview.
CO: What of the South Africa stamp?
Me: I passed through South Africa when I was coming to study here.
CO: Why did you played for the lottery?
Me: Answered
CO: Where did you played for it?
Me: Answered
CO: Did you played with your friends/relatives? Were they also selected?
Me: No. I didn't played with friends. But my brother also played.
CO: Was he selected?
Me: No
CO: What was his reaction?
Me: He supported me & helped me a lot.
CO: Who did you told when you were selected?
Me: My brother & My Dad
CO: What did your Dad says then?
Me: He said I should continue with the processing.
CO: I have to approve your Visa now since all your documents are completed
Me: Thank you Sir
CO: You had good grades in your results. (Returned my original documents to me)
Me: Thank you Sir
CO: Any question for me?
Me: Can I travel out of the States before I get my Green card?
CO: I know you don't have much holidays, so try & go to the States during this Xmas & make sure you don't stay out of the States for more than a year so that you won't loss your residence. I know you'll like to finish school before going to the States finally.
(He was right, my longest holiday which is less than a month is during the Xmas.)
CO: Any other question?
Me: No
He then gave me a paper and told me where to pick up my Passport & Visa package.
Then I walked out of the Interview hall with my ever smiling face like a bachelor who just get a Yes from his dream girl.
God is so great.

Advice:
1. Apply "One step at a time" rule so as not to get carried away due to anxiousness.
2. For those outside Nigeria, pls try and get the police report from your present country even if you haven't send up to a year in the country.
3. Get your Vaccination record so as not to spend unnecessary money. Ask those at home to get it for you & scan it if you're outside Nigeria.

Thanks you all, in one way or the other, I've learnt from most people on this trend. Special thanks to @ Ernestleon, you're blessed Bro.
For those awaiting their Interview & 2NL, believe & have faith that the Visa is yours.
Wishing you all success in your endeavours.
Congratulation my dear. It is a good and great news that you made. God who made you have this, will see you through in all the that relates to your plans in Jesus name. Let your testimony be a stepping stone to all that are expecting their interview in Jesus name.
