Thriving in the face of adversity , isolation. Marginalization, economic downturn , financial crisis. it seems God has a real soft spot for igbos.

Within a month I have randomly counted projects running into more than $10b in the south east
...and you will keep counting. This is the way to go. Strive forward despite the obstacles. In the future realm, these hurdles will be pillars of inspiration and admiration. We remember that Imo airport was known as the Biafran formula when the people didn't wait for FG to fund and construct the first state sponsored airport.

I wish there is a concerted effort to develop this town of so much potential. Allowing it to stagnate is an embarrassment to the administrations.

Why wasting such money in a town where nobody is at home ?

Typical ignorant post from an ill-informed. It's obvious you've never been to the SE, let alone heard of the town. Here's a little fact to educate you. The SE is still one of the densely populated regions in Nigeria along with the Lagos/Ibadan and Kano, Kaduna/Abuja axis'.

Ebonyi is not playing with education

He still plans to establish lay the foundation stone for two new universities; University of Aeronautical Engineering, Ezza and University of ICT, Science and Technology, Ikwo. Pray he performs these feats in the senate.

Learnt alot of life lessons from this AFCON.

1. Don't let temporary setbacks define your life.

2. Don't give up after a few defeats.

3. It's not over until it's all over.

4. People can call you Failure. Don't accept that tag.

5. Fortune only Favours the brave.

6. Patience is a virtue.

7. Don't pick calls from known or reputable failures.

8. Don't take no. 7 as a joke.

9. Stay away from bad energy.

10. Nigeria will win the 2022 World Cup only if they take No. 7, 8 and 9 seriously.

You, my man have just crafted a message that should be set in stone

Sold and converted into a gallery/museum for goodness sake. It is shameful that as the smallest geo-political zone we have the largest amount of abandoned/uncompleted projects in the federation.

When I see all the potentials wasting away in Owerri, it always makes me want to go crazy.

Firstly, I want to appreciate the efforts of government in beautification of roads within Owerri and it is amazing how it is fast changing the outlook of the city. The interesting thing is that these are just remedial works yet its impact is far reaching!

Owerri is about the only city where outsiders always troop to yet it has very little or no tourism attractions with only the Nekede zoo available. The state government should do the following to augment the Owerri urban renewal and boost tourism:

1. Please and please, why can't that area around Akachi tower and Otamiri be turned into a massive botanical gardens? Restore that tower, bring all kinds of flowers and tree plants, build bamboo tents and create beautiful paths with White sands. Some of those bamboo tents can be rented out for restaurant and bars. With the entire area barricaded with entrance gate and car park.

2. If you're driving from Warehouse towards Control, and you see that wide Nworie river and its beauty wasting away, can make anyone feel bad. Plant coconut trees along the banks of that river and use white sands to cover the banks, you automatically have an exotic beach within the city! Then build bamboo tents behind it that can be rented out to food vendors, bars and other related services. Make sure it's well iluminated with colourful lights for night activities too. Bring a couple of boats that will be providing rides for a fee. Add children arena with all those play things. Make it accessible with a car park.

These things won't cost billions of naira but their impact on Owerri would be massive. Owerri already has probably the most vibrant night life in Nigeria. But that can't be the only viable tourism attraction!

Now that the roads are looking beautiful with its wideness and aesthetics, doing these 2 things I mentioned here will boost Owerri's appeal as a place to be for fun seekers and also help to attract more investments.

Your statement should be framed and sent to IMSG.

This is another direction from the subject, but does anyone knows any proposed universities in the pipeline that are yet to come through in Imo state? Being the highest number of applicants, it is a perpetual issue that needs to be addressed.

Awka Stadium will be ready to host football match on 28th Dec this year, I inspected the Stadium yesterday, the contractor told me from next week they will start working day and night, I most confess I love the quality of work they're doing, the drainage around the pitch was perfectly done and all covered, track is almost ready, they have marked to build more stands around the pitch which will continue next year and other facilities, it was captured in next year budget, but the pitch will be ready for football match this year. Another goodnews from Awka Stanel group Cinemas will be ready before yuletide season

From what you saw, what is the estimated capacity?

After going to the Dallas Zoo or Berlin Zoo, you'll weep for how African billionaires especially Nigeria waste their monies on hotels, night clubs, etc; why cant we have billionaires that will follow the footsteps of Andrew Carnegie and build standard Libraries, Parks and Zoos.

We see animals that are worth to behold and just kill it... Can a Nigerian billionaire just use that money and create a massive zoo employing Zoo keepers and Admin and create an environment where Nigerians can carry their families along to see unique animals.. It will generate a lot of money for them.. But No! Na to create hotels that breed sin and oloshoism

The state of some of our zoos will make you weep or rage. The animals are emaciated and kept as prisoners in a dirty unkempt environment. You know the money meant for the upkeep has been flittered away by corruption. Our collective mindset has to really change.
