Very nice tips! Most of the stuff is what we already know, but it's great to be reminded ! I feel you about munching while watching your favourite late-night show. That's soooo me. But like you pointed out, the key is self control - over what you eat, and when you eat. Thanks a lot!! |
More than 42 countries participated and she came out tops. Wow. I'd like to take a peek at the criteria that won her the crown. Bravo to the winner anyway. |
PLEASE VOTE Who would you rather have as Nigeria's next president : Dele Momodu, IBB, Jonathan, Utomi or Pastor Chris Okotie ? Team Momodou with Dele and Bright Ikpechi Ovation publisher Dele Momodu wants to be Nigeria's next president. A tall ambition huh? But not an impossible one. Some Naija youths have already endorsed him. He will contest under Labour Party of Nigeria. Will you vote for him?
Momodu, for president?? Not in the next 50 years or what ever will be left of his lifetime. What a joker!!! Nigeria needs someone who will inspire the whole nation, not just a handful. I'm not saying we should hope for our own Obama, but at least someone who can appeal to all the ethnicities ie the North, East and South-South, which are the major ones to worry about when one is running for the presidency. Okotie, Utomi?? LOL!!!! ROTF!!! SMH!!!! |
This is very very sad!! I wasn't sure he was Nigerian, till now. Such a young boy to have made such lethal enemies. So it's not enough to scare or punish a person you have disagreements with: taking his life is the be-all and end-all. Now people I know, both Carribeans and Africans, are considering taking their kids home to be raised once they start to get older. But it depends on your location. These gangs thrive in certain areas, while children in "posh" neighborhoods and schools might not be in the same kind of danger. But I have noticed that Nigerian boys have been the target for a number of killings. When will all this stop? For both the Nigerian and non-Nigerian kids? |
mohawkchic:I am, babes!! Ok, good to have you back but don't you go disappearing again! What was THAT about?? LOL. Shabby, Keeva & Iffy When ever there are three friends (girls), you can bet that two of them will be much closer and one will always be the "outsider". To think that it was Iffy who told Keeva that Shabby fancied her, thus drawing the two girls closer, and before you knew it, Keeva and Shabby were getting tighter and suddenly it was a case of "three's a crowd". The Case of the Cringe OK, Iffy is the most awkward-looking of girls, I have always said how funny she looks. Then she decides to dance to a Tina Turner song. Shabby has always said mean things about Iffy behind her back, I have seen this tens of times. Tiny little barbs that would hurt Iffy if she ever heard it. And this time, she did. OK, not actually "heard", but as she danced, they made faces at her to show how embarrassed and cringing they were about her dancing. Shabby said stuff like, "Nathan is laughing like what Iffy is doing is really funny". Shabby is a foolish bad-mouth, but Iffy over-reacted by yelling at them both. I'm disappointed in her. Even if you were in school and these were really the "Mean Girls", yelling and showing all your emotions is soooo common. Shabby is an a$$ for leaving, but she knows what she has been saying about Iffy - and she knows she will be up again for eviction. One more week of that and she'd have snapped. That's why she left: because she was leaving anyway, come Friday. What a Arrow. This is a shocking week already, don't know what to expect any more. But I DID expect Keeva to leave with Shabby though. Friend indeed. Loser!! LOL. |
ezeagu:I never said it should be thrown away ooo, nor is it against the law. Have you seen the music video of Kelis, Acapella?? She backed her child all through the video . It is a tradition that is healthy and great for the baby and mother, I just don't get the idea of doing it on the street like a Nigerian market woman . Even back home most enlightened ladies don't back their babies on top their suit or jeans - it's common among the less privileged. But you can bet that around the house, even Adenuga's (Globacom) wife is backing their latest baby on her back when the need arises!! But in abroad, no one is stopping you from backing your baby, it's just not quite the thing, y'know. But it's a matter of choice, and we all know there is plenty freedom of choice IN THE ABROAD Lol, @ ezeagu u sef u funny . |
What a World Cup it's turning out to be. First Brazil, now Argentina. And these Germans eehhh |
Now this is a match to watch. Will be waiting to see the Germans do Argentina like they did England . Come on, it could happen . |
Football is not an individual sport my dear thats the concept the Three Blind Mice seem unable to grasp! Gerrard,Rooney and Lampard are only the best on the pages of the Sun,Daily Mirror e.t.c we wey dey watch football know that when $$hit hits the fan English players are not to be relied upon Its not harsh babes look at it this way if you guys had done this say in 2006 y'all woulda been spared this humiliation and even the shame of missing out on the 08 Euros a stitch in time saves nine! England are a small footballing nation this is a fact that none of you fans seem to want to admit ok lets do some Footie chronicles and examine the teams that have knocked y'all out of WC's 1986 - Argentina 1990 - Germany 1994 - DNQ 1998 - Argentina 2002 - Brazil 2006 - Portugal 2010 - Germany Now who are the teams England have beaten in that timeframe? Well we have Trinidad and Tobago,Paraguay,Ecuador,Tunisia,Colombia,Slovenia,Cameroun,Belgium ok Argentina once but aside from that i cant point to any other contender you have beaten in a 24 year timeframe. Y'all practically lose to the first big team you meet at any tournament so where do you guys get that believe that you can win a WC? Or that y'all are among the upper echelon. The British press is obviously to blame because its thanks to the EPL that people would sit down and compare a Rooney to a Messi a Lampard to a Xavi just because the former scores more goals forgetting that is not a midfielder's primary constituency Since Euro 96 y'all have not gone beyond the quarters of Euro tournaments The crux of the argument is that you guys have an over-bloated image of yourselves and England won't get far with it! This problem is bigger than Capello and was on even before he got there
In essence, and in conclusion, you are saying that the British can't play football because they haven't won any WC titles or other titles in recent years . I could tell you where to put your "Footie Chronicles", but you're my person, so no . If the English are so bad at soccer, how come they have such a fantastic league(s)?? I don't know much about these things I guess. But they are not half as bad as you make them out. Discipline and some change in style/tactics might be their saving grace. |
Lol @ all the white-man, European/South American vendatta bullsh#t . If Africans play good football, they should go as far as their legs can take them. We haven't been playing that long in the big league, it's always been the South Americans or the Europeans. Put it down to lack of experience, and stop blaming FIFA or some oyibo conspiracy. Is it not in your presence that USA went home, even England?? So why shouldn't AFrica - sorry, Ghana, lose?? ROTF. In a way I'm happy they are out, we for no hear word for the next four years. |
ezeagu:What has my point got to do with a medical fact?? You say that if the baby is well fastened there's nothing to worry about. Of course. In the safety of the home or in a contained area, I would agree with you. But whether home or in abroad , I suggest that women be more worried about "backing" their kids. Okay, in Nigeria the pram thing is not so common (imagine pushing your baby trolley into a danfo bus ) But many Nigerian women in foreign countries have taken the safe route of pushing your baby round in a stroller/buggy, not because they feel they must be "among" or be westernised. It's just the thing to do. Millions of kids in abroad that were never backed in their lives grow up healthy, so what do you mean by medical fact, sef . Our mothers backed us, yes, but is it every culture we must cling to, especially when we are in abroad ??Anyway I don tire for this topic/debate. You are free to continue the discourse if you wish. |
What a big SHAME!!! Just saw the highlights of the match. Fell asleep, so I missed most of it live. The game was handed to the Ghanaians at the last minute, if only GYAN had scored that penalty. I felt so sorry for them!!! This is how you know the men from the boys. What kind of high penalty kick was that?! Painful match to watch. Thank goodness say I no bother . |
I like it and see nothing wrong with it. When I see african women who tie there baby on their back, it kinda warms my heart I personally feel it truly depicts a mother's love for her babies ( i know that was corny, lol) anyhoo, if i have kids, i wouldnt mind doing that too bcuz i like it and i think its pretty cool, if u ask me. when my cousin visited us when her son was less then a year old, she tied him on the back when we went out shopping in the mall or whatever and she got very good/positive feedbacks. People were admiring her and people would stare from far away with big smiles on their faces.
Abegii . Let's be real here: it is safer and more decent to take your baby out in a "pram" than tied to your back, I'm talking in public here. Going shopping in the UK with the baby on her back! Wow!! I would understand women who do it out of necessity, maybe they left the house unexpectedly with the child and had to "back" him/her. But the safest place to "tie" the child is in the home where you can be sure of your environment and surroundings, while still enjoy the closeness and warmth backing your baby gives you - and the baby itself as well. |
bluespice:LOL. She's a vegetarian, pls forgive her all her trespasses . Who else would we have to annoy the housemates??@ sara j I can't see any of them going . Ok, push comes to shove, maybe Keeva. She said it herself that she hasn't been a very interesting housemate. |
dayokanu:Lol, ok, so England has the history of doing poorly at the World Cup. But when I say that they are in the class of Brazil & Co., I'm talking about individual players. The Three Lions are made up of the best bunch of fellas that have made their own personal name as footballers: Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard etc. Maybe as a team they aren't so hot - as a team, Germany were far far betterr prepared, team of pikins or not !
Lol the Devil is a liar ooh! Ozil and Podolski must be fit You have to wonder when would it ever be their tournament considering this is arguably their best bunch in decades England not over-rated?? Haba Mae! England is the most over-rated team in the Solar System. With the resources they have and the failure they have consistently produced David Cameron should ban England from international competitions for at least 10 years
Wow. What a harsh verdict . It hurts when people say these guys are "over-rated". They have been unduly "celebritized" by the British and world press, I agree, and this has detracted from their game. Would you then say Ronaldo, for example, is over-rated just because he and his country are now out of the tourney? Like I said, these things happen. I watched all England's games and I think the boys tried their best and played with all their heart. I put the WHOLE blame on Capello for their poor showing, he is the one that should be banned from coaching any team for at least ten years!!!! LOL. |
X Fio:Don't know why that makes me go "eeeeeew". I just don't see the connection. It's more like a mother-son r/ship if you ask me . X Fio:Lol, thanks for filling us in! Shabby is officially a psycho but I think I like her, the issue with her hat was sooooo hilarious. Now that Keeva is up, there's talk that if one of them is voted off, the other would just leave as well. Shabby's idea, of course. What a sacrifice. Yeah, right. I think if Shabby goes, the house will get pretty dull. She is a worthy bit of diversion. So that leaves Keeva/Sunshine. The last time Dave picked someone, she was gone . I think people are getting used to Sunshine and won't want to vote her out just yet.So now what? This is a tough, tough choice. Shabby, Sunshine, Keeva. I don't want any of them to leave . Let's just see how it goes . |
dayokanu:Oi, oi!!! That's my boys you're slagging off there! Look, they weren't that bad. This was just not their tournament. Seems the Germans are the one team that came the most prepared for the WC. That said, England is not over-rated, and YES, they are a BIG team, equal in league with the so-called BIG Brazil, Argentina etc. But I guess some are more equal than others . |
dayokanu:Several explanations and analyses have been put forward since the match ended 4-1. Some put the blame on the faulty officiating, while some declared that the English made a very poor showing against the skilful Germans. What more do you need?? Even the title of the topic has been changed to what I consider a very rude and malicious one: Germany Comprehensively Whoops England" etc. What's that all about?? I thought the admin, at least, were supposed to be impartial. |
This thread is still alive? Why do I feel like people are still taking the piss out of the English and their fans . |
Atreus:Naah, not weird, I'm a fan of the Greek mytho' myself, that's why I had a clue where the name was from. That's why, too, I almost believed you were a guy. That's the kind of name a guy would pick! Anyway hope you stick to your project and finish it this time around, it's always good to see a concluded tale!! |
Atreus: Talk about a revelation!! Lol, I did wonder how a guy could write with such artless (as in simple and natural) sensitivity (a good thing when writing romance) but I would never have guessed Atreus was a gurl!! What does the username mean anyway?? Is it some Greek deity or superhero or something? Well, hope you do well in your exams, and it's great you came back (and confessed !). Will be following the story, too. |
Myself2:Robbed or not though, from the word "go" Germany showed more footie class, I mean they scored the first goal, and quite early too. It went downhill for England after that, with or without Lampard's goal. |
geniuscity:Gosh, every knows that the Latinos, eg Italians, Argentines etc are very affectionate both to males and females. No hang-ups at all, as kissing is part of greeting among friends and family. So you can get your mind out of the sewer, LOL> |
dayokanu:Good write up; in conclusion: "Germany didn’t just outclass England, they offered a template for what England must seek to become." I think Germany offered a "template" for ALL teams to emulate. Still can't get the match out of my head; it was almost mathematical, so clinical and calculated. The English were just "at sea" and have lost a lot of their impressiveness as far as I'm concerned!! |
hackney:Pray, do tell, how one fit "nyash finish"?? Lol. Guys and their mis-informations. Girls will easily deceive blokes like you. |
Just telling myself, that I don't think I've ever seen football played this good (by Germany) - or was it that England played sooo bad?? |
I blame Stevie Gerrard. He was just poking needless shots when his teammates were available.
He was a bit selfish those three times, yes. But there was no guarantee that the "teammates" would have scored anyway. He just wasn't going to take that chance. |
England played well, they just had no strategy. Germany came into the game with a PLAN. I blame Capello for everything. |
England at least score a goal or two as a take-home present. |
This is a big FAT disgrace. Even Nigeria didn't get flogged this bad. |
These Germans play WICKED football. Why can't we play like that, England?? Too much tea I guess! Gosh!!! |
