Lol, your son's fave? I didn't know, though I think Marv was everyone's fave, and not only the girls . My little cousins have actually met Marvin lots of times, back when the 08 show was on. He used to live in the neighborhood and his own cousins and mine are friends. I never met the young hunk myself, I'd have been a disgrace . LOL .

Just because a guy acts a bit too effeminate doesn't mean he's gay ooo. Not that I care though cos he's my least fave JLS member. What about the one that was rumoured to be dating Alexandra during the 2008 show?? I mean the hot one with the shy smile(for the life of me I can't remember any names apart from the Nigerian guy Oritse or so )

Now Stacey is another story entirely. I mean she's appalling!! I just switch off when ever she starts to talk. No one can be that goofy!!! I heard she's dating one of the JLS boys - the smallest one with the straightened hair. What a combination!!!

Lol @ the "Poor me, poor me". So so true!!! It was so transparent; I mean he didn't even smile!! Who's he fooling?? I respect Rachel all the more after the way she kept a smiling face every Saturday, even after being in the bottom 2 week after week. And as for her studies, I think she should put those on hold for the next six months and focus on her music, while the fire is still hot and she still has some fans .

Mohawkchic, why does he, or anyone, need to be "compensated"? Is winning the X-Factor his birthright?? Though after Simon branded his audition as the best ever, Danyl seemed to think winning the show was a done deal. That's why, in a way, I'm glad the Twins are causing such an upset !!!!

You started a thread for people to share their thoughts on their favourite/best epic/fantasy movies. If you're going to start off by condemning our choices then I'm sorry I bothered.

Van Helsing is my favourite fantasy movie ever. I've watched it at least six times, and I'll certainly watch it again. Beckinsale and Jackman made it work for me, but don't detract from the special effects and the great plot. I'm not crazy about LOTR which seems to be your and most people's fave, but I wouldn't make any disparaging comments about your tastes.

Anyway, who says a movie's quality can be measured only by box office sales, gross revenue and "budget"??
And I actually thought you knew something about movies .

Hello lovey . I haven't seen tonight's episode, but I was so desperate for news that I looked in anyway for updates. I'm not as gutted as I thought I would be over Rachel----something tells me that even Leona Lewis wouldn't have stood a chance against all the pretty boys in the comp. this year!!

Don't tell me you're rooting for Danyl . I saw right through his "sad-face" act, trying to win pity votes by pretending to be unsure after all the hate press. Like I said once, if Danyl wins this show, I'll eat my hat!!! And if I don't have one, I'll go out and buy it, then eat it !!!!

Choosing the bottom two and who finally leaves will get harder week by week. Rachel is gone but next week it could be Lloyd vs Jamie or Danyl or even Lucie. It's always tough when there are so many favourites in the show. Next week is going to be even bloodier guys, so don't pity Rachel. She's lucky to finally escape the mayhem that is X-Factor 2009  .

Whether visa-free or ticket-free, mbanu (shakes head vigorously) I'm not impressed. That Naija-phobic country?? Count me out .

Can't believe Van Helsing is not on that list . Well that's my fave fantasy movie, have it on my ipod cos the effects are soo hot!! As for epics, I'll give it to Troy. The fight scenes are the best everrrrr!!(well, maybe a little better than Gladiators, my second fave epic )

Rock week?? That's always a great show to watch. Hope Jamie comes out sounding authentic, cos he's the major rocker in the whole lot!! But I can bet you, Danyl will set the place on fire because this is his forte as well, he's going to squeeze out the performance for all he's got!! I'm looking forward to this, I really hope I watch it live !!

I actually read that J&E had the highest votes not just last week, but also the week before!! So for two weeks running, they've been top of the pack !!!


Don't you wish Rachel got done-up like the other girls, in sweet, ladylike gowns and flowing hair ? How come they get to look like hot ladies, while Rachel comes out looking almost boyish all the time?? They need to show her feminine side, and soon!!

@mohawkchic, from what I hear about those bored teens, they're causing havoc in the "posh" neighbourhood where J&E and the rest are being housed. What with the girls "flashing" and throwing their underwear at the twins, the neighbours are far from happy!!

@mohawkchic, nice pix! No way Laura lost 2 stone . Well you know what they say about the camera making you "look fat", so maybe she really did . The lady's just big-boned, I guess. I hope her singing has changed; didn't like the way she sang through her nose all the time. That nasal-sounding voice used to grate on my nerves.

But seeing as she's one of your faves, I take that all back !!!

But you're right, there's something fishy and Simon could even be behind all this - I mean, he'd do anything for an extra million - or even for more ratings. But let's not allow that to draw the shine from the real stars on the show, Rachel, Stacey, Lucie, Danyl, Joe, Jamie, Olly and my lovely Lloyd .

I'm happy for Rachel; she deserved a break from being at the bottom, haba. If you see how my aunt and her Nigerian friends/relations were texting eachother to vote for the "Nigerian girl" on X-factor, you'll trip. I even heard that one church (I won't mention their name here ) actually mentioned Rachel in some serious prayer points to make sure she made it thru this week . That's Naija for you !


Miss Frank, aaaaw. You could see they'd given up already once they knew they were in the bottom two, and against crowd fave Danyl. I guess now we should all respect Rachel more for fighting back not once but twice when she was in that same situation. If only the girls had put more power and determination in their performance, Danyl would be the one going home now. How can one guy beat three beautiful girls huh?? Them no try at all.

They say it's a multi-million movie. Multi-million what, naira or dollars, so we can know if she's making any profit with the N10m at the box office.


But why am I not surprised it made so much at the BO?? Considering how much Nigerians love their home videos (even Mnet had to create AfricanMagic to satisfy the needs of the home video fans ) I'd expect it to beat even the biggest Hollywood blockbuster if it was showing at the same times at the cinema.

All said and done, white cast or not, the girl has made a giant leap. But like it has been said, hope the Nigerian copy-cat syndrome doesn't raise its big head .
