Luckygurl: Ok, here's how I'd like it to work for me...
To every other male, I'm that independent lady who has a way of making things work for her. I can survive without assistance, do things on my own, sort myself out and be good at all times.
But to that special person, I will be the very fragile one who needs the whole attention, love and care you can ever give to survive. I'll make it feel as though life isn't complete without him which is what it is actually, my knight in shinning armour... Split personality. Eventually you will have to decide who you wanna be or it'll drive u crazy. |
Business › Re: Calabar: Petrol Tanker Loses 33,000 Liters To Explosion [photo] by magneto(m): 2:34pm On May 21, 2015 |
lalasticlala: An oil tanker belonging to Hudson Petroleum Ltd at the
weekend lost 33,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
in an explosion.
The oil truck exploded in front of the firm’s office making it
the fifth time such explosion occurred at the same spot
with devastating effect.
The previous explosion is reported to have claimed several
lives, while nearby kiosks and properties worth thousands
of naira were destroyed.. Eye witnesses account claimed
that the truck which left the Hudson farm tank was
negotiating the bend in front of the firm’s office when eight
of the tyres pull off and it somersaulted violently leading to
explosion of the oil tanker.
“At least, we know of three trucks that have so
somersaulted and exploded at this same spot”, the eye
witnesses maintained. Speaking to newsmen after the
incident, Chairman of the local branch of National Union
Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mr Effiong Solomon
said that, according to his members who drive such oil
trucks there are many of them which are faulty belonging
to both Hudson Petroleum Ltd and nearby Addax
Petroleum Ltd at their tank farms.
The chairman stated that the oil firms do not pay heed to
such complaints, saying it was not their business to fix
faulty oil tankers but the owners.
Commenting on the mishap, the Assistant Chief Fire Officer
of Cross River State Fire Service, Mr Effiong Joe Okon
pointed out that they were able to arrive the scene of the
explosion with minimum delay and were able to dampen
the impact and quench the fire using foam contents
composed of animal by-products.
He was assisted by the NPA Fire Service as well as Hudson
Fire Service.
When contacted, Officials of Hudson Petroleum Ltd who
were at the scene of incident vehemently refused to make
comments on the issue as they claimed not to be in a
proper position to make any comment on the mishap. Hope dat doesn't mean animal poop!! @ bolded |

Poems For Review › Re: The Inner Mind - A Short Poem And A Brief Commentary. by magneto(m): 9:22pm On May 16, 2015 |
laykorn: This is what I have made myself to believe:
- That they are not in any duel of some sort. I have made myself to imagine that they have embarked on different missions which are not in any way related to each other.
How can it be explained, then, that the inner minds of people - for example - who suddenly stopped to move with flows has not conquered their minds? Isn't it a contradiction?
No, it isn't. At that point in time when the inner mind seemed to conquer the mind, it didn't - really. Then, it just accomplished it's own mission; it just did what it was made to do.
Even if you don't find this explanation logical enough to be accepted, there is another way to it; that is by re-questioning your assumption.
Does the mind ever conquer the inner mind?
When the inner mind starts to do what it is made to do, and starts with a twirl and a twerk - as I made reference to in my poem, it can never be overpowered by anything - not even this mind.
This leads to another point. It is not everytime that the inner mind starts with it's twirl that it ends up a rebel. Take a look at this example:
- Someone was born a muslim and along the line the inner mind starts with it's twirl. It goes through all it's stages and the stage of the quest - the seeking - it eventually finds that Islam is the best for him.
Yes, the inner mind twirled, but did it rebel? Laykorn would u say dat d inner mind is d same tin as d subconscious mind?? Cos I've always believed the subconscious mind to be more of an infinite database consisting of all our thots, impressions, emotions, and imaginations.....rather than this pulsating, self-aware, and ambitious life form u've made d inner mind out to be. |

diddydiva: you are right.
what baffles me tho is the struggle between obedience and rebellion.
rebellion is from the inner mind ,that's taken.
obedience is from where?
if its also from the inner mind , is the inner mind two or its fighting itself. Obedience I believe, comes from the conscience - dat divine compass within us all dat constantly points to the truth we most often want to rebel against....but are powerless to ignore. The inner mind is full of ability and ignorant pride, but d conscience is honest, humble and steadfast. Both need to work together for true greatness to be achieved! |

efficiencie: ...but many have believed that every circumstance in their life would work out in favor by God but yet they suffer very terrible events and this makes them ask if God is real and has produced many athiests! It is not enuff to believe. One must prove belief by ACTING in accordance wit those beliefs. And by acting I'm talking about, thot actions(positive mindset/ planning and goal setting), word actions(prayers and declarations), and of cos physical actions(making moves and following thru on the plan). A true man of faith also knows dat patience and perseverance are quality virtues, cos nothing great comes easy. Eventually tho, genuine faith ALWAYS moves mountains! |

Living by faith is when u dare to believe dat every circumstance in ur life would work out in ur favour because God is on ur side, and then living ur life accordingly...
Living by sight is when u believe only in what ur physical senses can experience or ur reasoning faculty can conjure, and thus living ur life in perpetual response to stimuli... |

Pebcak: Election go come and go, we ll soon forget this Ibo talk because PDP was trying to score cheap political points majority of the Ibos I know dont even really care because honestly they have enjoyed Lagos. I blame all these talk on PDP FFK/Fayose Basket mouth mentality, Come to think about It all the Ibo leaders at the Obas palace were clapping after the statement so WTF In as much as I am not ion support of Oba's speech that does not warrant disrespecting the Royal throne or yoruba tribe and regardless of the situation I will still go and eat ASARO @ Mama Ntoro's Shop Play soccer with Emeka,Edwin,............. Drink beer with Chinedu,Okafor,Obi,Nonso,Emeka....... Go to Mass with Stanley,Ejiofor,Nwosu,Obi,Nkechi,Chibuzor.............. Politics › Re: ‘enough Of Igbo Disruption In Lagos’ - Yorubas Outside Nigeria Speak by magneto(m): 3:18am On Apr 12, 2015 |
amosode: That your statement" if only d OBA has been more prudent,....."is wrong. That is what we're saying. It's disrespectful. It shows that you're not humble. In that Libation that OBA performed, he said anybody that would not allow peace to reign in Lagos. If indeed the politicians among Igbo did not turn it to politics how would that statement be generalised to all Igbo in Lagos. I take it from ur response that u believe the OBA should be above criticism. That is so unfortunate my brother. Perhaps if I were his subject I would believe dat too...but fortunately I'm not so I'm at liberty to speak the truth. The oba said wat he said and we all heard and watched him say it. He didn't mince words. He didn't imply either. It was a straight up insult to the sensibility of any decent ibo man or woman. Trying to insinuate that he meant otherwise would be a very uncharitable thing to do. The ibos deserve an unreserved apology, which I believe some yoruba elders have already done on behalf of the oba (who I gather cannot apologize based on traditional custom). However for the interest of peace among us as nigerians, I'm advocating that our ibo brethren should pls "sheath their swords" and let this one slide. Any form of instability in lagos would terribly affect dis nation negatively. A lot of us look up to lagos as a model nigerian state and if it descends into chaos the impact would be far reaching. But we pray that would not happen by God's grace. Let love reign in our hearts for each other. God bless lagos state! God bless nigeria!! |
Politics › Re: ‘enough Of Igbo Disruption In Lagos’ - Yorubas Outside Nigeria Speak by magneto(m): 8:30pm On Apr 11, 2015 |
Tsk tsk tsk...so much bile and hatred displayed here. Smh If only d oba had been more prudent wit his choice of words. I believe a friendly appeal would have yielded far more ibo votes for apc. I even suspect dat a lot of ibos in lagos were not even as concerned abt d state elections, and would probably not have bothered coming out to vote...while many dat do vote would vote apc because of fashola's achievements. All d same, I kindly appeal to every aggrieved ibo man or woman to pls cool ur temper and forgive the oba's outburst. Escalating dis kind of inter tribal animosity by hurling insults and inflammatory statements will not help our common growth as nigerians. Lagos has always been yoruba land, everyone knows it...the ibos know it...and the yorubas know dat they know it. Dat fact is not in contention. Be dat as it may, we are all nigerians and shld be free to live anywhere in d country and be treated with dignity. I am neither yoruba nor ibo, but I know dat any tension in any part of d country would not be beneficial to us all. My yoruba brothers n sisters pls for the sake of peace and progress, forgive and overlook d seemingly over exuberance of our ibo brethren. I do not believe its an affront to ur tribe or lands, rather its in their nature to be so. We all have our pluses and minuses, but together we complement each other. Let peace reign. One yoruba, one ibo, one nigeria!! |

Their mating habit is just like every other animal. If they were made to have the choice of sticking to one partner, I'm sure their faithfulness would know no bounds I was refering to their innate need to always chase after the pu**y |
