Jonathan probably went to discuss possible defection to apc. my tots |
Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday evening paid a secret visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The meeting was held inside the President’s official residence. That was the first time Jonathan would be visiting the Presidential Villa since he left in the morning of May 29 for the Eagles Square where Buhari took his oath of office and allegiance as his (Jonathan’s) successor. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed Jonathan’s visit and meeting with Buhari to our correspondent on Sunday. Adesina, however, said he was not privy to the subject of discussion at the meeting. A top Presidency official also confided in our correspondent that the meeting was strictly between Buhari and Jonathan. He said the visit was made discreetly to the extent that photographs were not taken. “Nobody was with them. I am sure they don’t want the visit to be an item in the media. That probably explains why the former president visited at night and went straight to the residence. They met for a few minutes in the President’s residence,” the official said. The following day, however, Buhari also played host to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. But unlike Jonathan’s visit, one of the photographers attached to the President was able to capture the two leaders. It was not clear at press time whether the two visits were connected. The present administration had been investigating some activities of Jonathan’s administration with government officials, claiming that the past administration was characterised by impunity and large scale corruption. Apart from probing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the present administration is also beaming its searchlight on the management of the Excess Crude Account under Jonathan. Some former aides of the ex-President such as his National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.); his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Gordon Obuah; and the former Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Patrick Akpobolokemi, have either been arrested, detained or investigated. On May 27, less than 48 hours to the end of his tenure, Jonathan had advised Buhari not to single out his administration in any probe. He said all those advising Buhari to probe his administration must also advise him to extend his probe beyond his regime or else, the probe will be seen as witch-hunting. Jonathan said, “Some people are even calling for the probe of this government. I agree that in Nigeria, there are a number of things that we will probe, many things. “Even debts owed by states and this nation from 1960 up to this time, they are saying it is Jonathan’s administration that is owing all the debts. I believe that anybody calling for probe must ensure that these probes are extended beyond the Jonathan administration, otherwise to me, it will be witch-hunting. “If you are very sincere, then it is not just the Jonathan’s administration that should be probed. A number of things have gone wrong and we have done our best to fix them. The Attorney-General is aware of massive judgments debts, if we aggregate all of them, it is about $1billion. “How did we come to this kind of huge judgment debts? These issues should be probed. How do you allocate our oil wells, oil fields, marginal wells and others? Do we follow our laws? All these should be probed. I believe all these and many more areas should be looked at.” http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-pays-buhari-secret-visit-in-aso-villa/ |
MalcoImX:ofcourse I couldn't cos he said the obvious. |
on our way back from church after an enlarged family thanksgiving, I met an uncle who is sure a buhari fan. He was reading a newspaper and said "wailing wailers". So I asked him the meaning of wailing wailers. and behold his answer and I quote. "They say it's a group of persons whose common interest is to loot nigeria and impoverish her citizens. They also want nigeria to disintegrate violently. perhaps also responsible for broadcasting hate in some tribal radio channels". what a definition.#strolls away#. |
A press statement signed by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers State Chairman, Brother Felix Obuah, has urged President Buhari and the EFCC to investigate Rotimi Amaechi. The Rivers State chapter of the PDP wants Mr. Amaechi who is the former State Governor, to stop hiding and publically face the immense corruption allegations against him. The statement says that "the degree and number of fraudulent acts initiated and committed by the former Governor are shocking and no longer be glossed over." On CNN's Amanpour Live Report it was reported that Amaechi has been stacking money in different foreign accounts. According to the statement, Amanpour’s show said "the sum of over 757 million U.S. dollars was stacked by Amaechi in a foreign U.S. Bancorp/Minnesota account." The Integrity Group, a non-governmental organization, has sent a petition to Buhari as well as the Economic Financial Crimes Commission chairman to investigate Amaechi for the over N70 billion stolen from the Rivers State government. This amount is separate from the N21 billion which the PDP claims Amaechi transferred from the Power Assets proceeds account of Access bank to the accounts of three private companies with a 25 Trans-Amadi Road, Port Harcourt address. Those companies are Advante Consulting and Management Company, Result Imports Experts Company, and Capital Ltd. The PDP in Rivers State claim that there are many more instances of fraud and theft perpetrated by the former Governor, which is why they are asking President Buhari to probe Rotimi Amaechi’s past. SaharaReporters has contacted representatives of the former Governor but they have not returned information about our inquiries. http://saharareporters.com/2015/08/06/pdp-rivers-state-accuses-rotimi-amaechi-massive-fraud-and-theft |

Our dear Ibo brothers and sisters, you have a golden opportunity and this is a green light to national inclusion. You should embrace the president and take advantage of the moment. The political atmosphere will be your favor if you join hands and honor the leaders that will grace that occasion. Rebrand yourselves as Nigerians. focus on Nigeria and your pride of place becomes clearer for us all. We know industrialization is certain in the South-East as they are blessed with many intelligent and talented persons. |
CONTRARY to fears being expressed in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari will overlook the South-East in appointments and execution of capital projects because the zone did not give him maximum support in the last election, he is out to woo the zone, a source has said. According to the source, the President wants to carry all parts of the country along in his administration and would execute projects in the South-East that will surprise his ardent critics. So far, the President appears not to have factored the South-East in his initial appointments of media aides and service chiefs. Indeed, a private radio on Wednesday accused him of expressing anti-Igbo sentiments in a recent BBC Hausa Service. The presidency has dismissed the private radio’s claim as unfounded. A statement issued by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said the claim was “completely false, malicious and slanderous” because the voice being ascribed to President Buhari in the recording repeatedly played back by the station was definitely not the President’s voice and the last interview the President had with the BBC Hausa Service, lasting not more than five minutes, was on the day he was declared winner and given his certificate of return as President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. “President Buhari is the President of all Nigerians and will continue to treat all citizens on the basis of fairness, equality and equity,’’ he said and enjoined Nigerians to ignore all propaganda designed to sow seeds of discord among them and promote a separatist agenda against national unity, solidarity and progress. Speaking on the issue, the source, which is part of the efforts to actualise Buhari’s change agenda, said: ”The president is out to Ndigbo that he does not hate them. Remember, he ran with late Dr Chuba Okadigbo and Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke for the presidency in 2003 and 2007. Now, he has agreed to be part of the burial of Owelle Chukwuma Azikiwe, the first son of Nigeria’s first President, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe. ”Besides, he has directed a committee, which has former Senator Chris Ngige and some Igbo leaders as members to assess the Zik’s mausoleum and speed up the reconstruction of the historic site.” Indeed, a delegation from the Azikiwe family met the president recently to brief him on their preparedness for the Chukwuma Azikiwe’s burial. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/buhari-woos-igbos-to-rebuild-ziks-tomb/ |

ocelot2006:Atiku abubakar way is equally ravaged by flood. http://lindaikeji..com/2015/07/wow-check-out-road-in-akwa-ibom-state.html?m=1 this is Atiku abubakar way after rainfall

PROPHETmichael:Oron road is equally a no go area for students and teachers due to flood. http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/schools-suspend-classes-as-flood-ravages-uyo/ |
despite daily heavy rainfall witnessed thus far in the rivers state capital, major roads in the city has remained without flood. Thanks to the integrated piping/cement plumbing of the roads by the government of Amaechi without media noise making characteristic of the neighboring akwaibom state. It is worthy to note that phc is a fully occupied city so most rain water pass through this drainage pattern that I believe most flood-prone states should copy. Thank you former governor amaechi. |
amacastel:yes u will see Ngige. and remember peter obi served 4 years complete. that ordinarily validates Ngige as governor. but for amaechi vs omehia it was different. |
ECOTERRORS:You re the zombie. don't u dare call our president zombie. Every nigerian has the right to be so appointed. The amaechi u talked about is a known performer. at least he brought education and health care to his people's doorsteps. that's a feat. |
sammyj:RSTV and Silverbird Portharcourt said the loan is for road rehabilitation and renovation of the government house. |
