Pls lamido, call the name with evidence. The masses will back u up. |
According to simple geography, there are four cardinal points(north, south, east and west). This means what we have in Nigeria in reality can only be northwest, northeast, southwest and southeast asides the points. The political wayo of calling a region south-south, north-central etc. is rather insulting and a comedy script being masterminded by our wayo and self-serving political maneuvarers. Very soon we will start hearing west-central, north-north, east-east. Lmao. This naija is a comedy. |
ssii: God forbid! Power can never go to Wike and his group. Wike is just being childish, the man is not wise at all. I don't know anybody who got into office fighting the governor the way he's going about it. The man has allowed his unbridled desire to be governor of R/S and the seeming support he is getting from the president to blind and consume him." Whom the gods wants to destroy, they first make mad" Wike is just destroying his own political career.Wike believes in thuggery, intimidation and cultism. These people r the main stumbling block to jonathan's possible re-election. The president should do away with these people and make peace with the rivers state governor. |
Opposition politicians opposed to the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi have threatened to launch a destructive attack on the state government owned Banana plantation in Tia Local Government council. The politicians issued the threat at the ward and council inauguration of members of Grassroot Development Initiative in Tai Local Government Area of the state. Supervising minister of education, Nyesom Wike had mocked the state’s agricultural project calling on the people of Ogoni to reject such projects. According to him, “there is nothing called new PDP. They have been defeated in court. They have been defeated in INEC. Nobody will challenge Mr. President. For all those intimidations, be rest assured you will get all the necessary protections within the ambits of the Law. Nobody will intimidate you. “You must know people who mean well for you. You all have to know that the Ogonis are not monkeys. When I hear people say they have something for Ogoni, the only industry they have for you is a banana industry. Holy Ghost fire for all the people, for all those that conspired that there is nothing that is good for the Ogoni people except to make them have bananas. Ogoni people have paid their dues. They are not meant to be eating bananas”. Also, a former Senator from the state, Lee Maeba said he would personally take the lead to ravage the plantation. “We are not monkeys and we are not growing bananas at all. They have been talking on the radio that they uncovered a plot. There is no need to uncover anything, I said I will lead a well-meaning protest of all the Ogonis and by the time we return there will be no more bananas”, he threatened. Maeba also alleged that the banana plantation was one of the factors undermining the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Programme, UNEP, report: “I said it in Bori that after listening to the cries of the Ogonis, they agreed that the soil of Ogoni is contaminated and there must be clean-up and compensation. When the compensation team arrived from New York, Pharo led a group of agriculturist and went to establish banana farm and told them that the soil is good that they should not pay compensation; they should not clean up the land. “But with those bananas, they are using to deceive our people, to deceive the United Nations, to deceive the Federal Government that the soil is clean. We shall clean up the bananas and clean up the soil”, he added. In a related development, a former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Chibudum Nwuche has said Governor Amaechi would be made to account for all the allocations he had received. Nwuche accused Governor Amaechi of playing politics with fund meant for the state. “What pains me most is that somebody we freely gave a mandate to and placed in Government House has forsaken the state and going on adventures. “He has bought a plane. He will carry journalists and they will go to a place called Songhai Farms, they will go to one medical centre, they will go to one school. They go to one school all the time as if we have no schools before. “How can you spend over N3 trillion only on schools and medical centres. I challenge our Governor to a debate. He should come out and account to the people what he has been doing with our money for the past 6years”, he said. Nwuche who is also the immediate past acting National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, tasked the people of the state to support President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election. The banana plantation is one of the major agricultural projects of the Rivers State government, which is jointly owned by Union De Initiative SA DE CV of Mexico and has taken about the sum of N10 billion. http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/10/14/wike-others-threaten-to-destroy-amaechis-n10billion-banana-plantation/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=wike-others-threaten-to-destroy-amaechis-n10billion-banana-plantation |
jp philips: people like you deserve to be hung upside down on a stake, while 1 million kids urinate on your fore head. The portharcourt-owerri road is a federal road being done by the rivers state govt and it is complete with walkways and streetlighting. azikiwe road, gu ake road and adageorge road. Phc is superb ooo. All the roads I v passed r dualised with walkways, street lighting. Infact the moment I saw welcome to rivers state at the boundary with owerri it has been new beautiful dualised roads. From owerri to d phc airport junction boasts of a clean dualised road with street light and walkway. That's amazing. Isn't it. Intrastate road with street light and walkway. I did postgraduate at uniport in 2004 and I can say there is total difference. Most of the roads that barely entered two cars hv been dualised and can contain many cars with walk ways and street lights. Stadium road is 8 lane, oginigba is 6 lane, azikiwe road is 6 lane, nta road is 4 lane, okporo road is 4 lane, gu ake road is 6 lane, adageorge road is 8 lane, rumuola road is 4 lane, old aba road is 6 lane, market road is 6 lane, ikwerre road is 6 lane upto agip flyover, oluobasanjo road is 6 lane. pazienza: You are wrong bro, Bayelsa is not 100 percent ijaw, bayelsa has indigenous Igbo communities as well as Isoko communities. The igbo communities in Bayelsa can be found in Osekwenike, Abuetor and Eke Okpokri villages, all in Sagbama area of bayelsa, they are Igbo of Ukwuani stock, and as such, are of the Anioma igbo clan of the Igbo ethnic group. |
There is no doubt d population of igbos in bayelsa is sizeable. Since democracy is about numbers, I think d igbos can easily win the governor of akwaibom and bayelsa ina free n fair election. They hv d legitimate hardearned money and the brain to transform n industrialise better than my own tribe as history has shown. |

We should learn from these countries and support this initiative. |
We wish to call on the national assembly and other well-meaning Nigerians to support and immediately commence a constitutional ammendment that will make jonathan president till at least 2045. This is to enable president Jonathan to personally oversee and complete the transformation which he has initiated. Taking a clue from other nations as libya, Egypt, tunisia which saw infracstructural transformations over d years of consistent transformation pioneering by one man. |

aduboy: Sincerely I feel sad for GEJ, Amaechi has out smarted him in this crisis. GEJ and PEJ are banking on militants together with known criminal elements to fight Amaechi while Amaechi is working with organised labour, civil society groups and masses. From all indications this is a lost battle by the presidency. Sure if they try any stupid thing on Rivers and Amaechi, the igniting fire will consume them.U just spoke the exact truth. Its a lost battle for the jonathans. |
www.theheraldng.com/these-are-our-candidates-for-president-in-2015-arewa-lists-60-individuals-full-detail The Arewa Youth Movement, after a rigorous screening exercise, has listed 60 Nigerians, most of them of northern extraction, to succeed Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as President of the Federal republic of Nigeria. These are persons they believe can tackle the present level of underdevelopment, insecurity and disunity in the country. Although the nominees cut across different ideological orientations and political parties, they are mainly liberals, progressives and even radicals. Three names have been selected from each state, on the basis of geo-political representation and considerations that favour merit as well as ethnic, gender and religious inclusiveness. Clearly, some states have stronger candidates than others, and the process is continuous, based on agreed criteria for further pruning. In drawing up the list, consideration was also given to leaders from different vocational backgrounds. Additional criteria included credibility, good education, consistency, reasonable levels of low or lack of corruption, public sector experience, patriotism, national and international acceptability, and firmness and strength of character to implement fundamental development projects. The Movement is very optimistic that one of its nominees will emerge as the next President of Nigeria, after a continuing process of processing, including public debates and public scrutiny of the potentials of the candidates. The other nominees will then be expected to support the winner to run the country well on the basis of collective leadership. A clash between two rival cult groups suspected to be the notorious Icelanders and Greenlanders in Asarama, a riverine community in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has left about eight people dead. This is according to my friend in the apc working commitee. He said the party elders and a faction of pdp are looking at the possibility of an Amaechi/Ribadu ticket. Amaechi(president), Nuhu Ribadu(vice president). According to him, if the duo gets a pdp ticket they will unanimously stand behind them. In d event they r rigged out, they will be offered APC ticket. The implications to jonathan(a fellow south-southerner) is better imagined. |
It is my belief that some of the terror in out land is state sponsored.Henry okah accused the president of masterminding the October 1 bombing. Orji Uzor kalu has said the security agencies r behind some of the bombings in the north. The house where some weapons and bokoharam members were arrested in lagos belongs to bayelsa state govt. Something is really fishy. Is our president our common enemy? Is he also a grand-terrorist? Time will tell. http://www.informationng.com/2013/03/security-agents-not-boko-haram-behind-bombings-uzor-kalu.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter http://premiumtimesng.com/politics/4906-henry_okah_insists_jonathan_behind_bomb_attacks.html http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/bayelsa-govt-owns-terrorists-lagos-hideout-says-monarch/ |
Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, yesterday released the names of some of the victims of last Tuesday’s suicide bombing attack on a luxury bus terminal in Kano. Apparently to refute that most of the victims were from South Eastern part of Nigeria. The governor was speaking to a visiting federal government representatives who had come to commiserate with the state government regarding the deadly Monday suicide bombing of a bus station that killed at least 25 people. Kwankwaso had earlier replied Senators Kabiru Gaiya and Uche Chukwumerije, saying they were “just ranting nonsense” in Abuja, and that they lacked first hand knowledge of the attacks. At least 25 people died when gunmen attacked a prison, a police station, a bank and a bar in an eastern Nigerian town, police said. The simultaneous attacks took place in Ganye, a remote town near Nigeria's border with Cameroon. The attacks happened on Friday but the death toll was only reported on Saturday. No group has said it carried out the attack but police said they suspected Islamist militants Boko Haram. "We have 25 dead from yesterday's attacks in Ganye which included a chief prison warder, a policeman and a prominent politician," Adamawa state police chief Mohammed Ibrahim was quoted by AFP news agency as saying. The gunmen - armed with bombs, machine-guns and rocket-propelled grenades - set free an unspecified number of inmates from the prison, officials said. Mr Ibrahim said seven people were shot dead in the bar and six near the bank, while others were gunned down either outside their homes or on the streets. The attack, according to the eyewitnesses, which took the residents by surprise, began moments after the last Muslim prayers, Isha’i. The attackers were shouting, “Allah is Great, Allah is Great’, as they marched round the town unchallenged. At the bank, the assailants were reported to have used dynamites to pull down parts of the building before gaining entrance into the banking hall and the strong room. It was not clear how much money had been looted from the bank. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-21914274 http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/03/as-28-are-killed-in-terror-attacks-insurgents-hit-bank-police-station-prisons/ |
I believe some of the persons he mentioned r still alive. They should be arrested immediately and investigated. Katako should also be arrested for false witness and charged accordingly. We need to move this country forward. All these allegations shouldn't be swept under the carpet. |
So true. |
Bought fuel today in phc at #80 per liter. what a failed government. |
Unfortunately, almost all the names listed in this so- called cartel were recently given national honors. What an irony. |
If the sect starts attacking politicians, their investments and their families/followers. Then it is what I have always wished for. That will automatically translate to the much desired revolution. I believe if they target only these politicians, they'll have support from majority of Nigerians. |
The fear of timipre sylva is the beginning of wisdom for our presido. |
This is the best news I ve read about our great country. Dear comrades keep up with the protests and the very legitimate demands. |
The Nigeria Labour Congress and other affiliate Trade Unions under the auspices of “Save Nigeria Rally” on Thursday embarked on their much publicized protest against the removal of subsidy on petroleum products in the Federal Capital city bringing practically all commercial activities within the metropolis to a halt. L-R: Ibrahim Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo. Members of the Unions started converging at the popular Berger roundabout at about 7 am and proceeded to the National Assembly through Zone 4 within the Wuse District. The protesters led by their leaders passed through the Wuse 2 district through Abia House in Maitama District before they were stopped by the heavy presence of security operatives. The protesters walked the entire 15 kilometers from the starting point to the National Assembly chanting anti government songs, calling on the Federal Government to consider the plight of suffering Nigerians. The protesters also kicked against on going attempts to emasculate the Nigerian people through constitutional amendment and claimed that powerful and the rich who have access to the corridors of power, prefer to tinker with the aspects of the constitution that suits them. They claimed that the recent public hearing by the Senate Committee on Privatization confirmed the NLC’s insistence over the years that the scheme was a scam to fleece the country. “It is not surprising that there have been desperate attempts to muzzle the Committee and kill the Senate report. We advise against such brazen acts. Those who committed crimes against the Nigerian people in the name of privatization must be brought to justice and ill gotten wealth recovered and returned as a common patrimony” declares the Labour Mobilizing Committee. The Unions called on the arrest and prosecution former Heads of State, Gen Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar as well as former President Olusegun Obasanjo and their cronies indicted by the various probe panels for economic crimes and sabotage against Nigeria and Nigerians. They also demanded that all privatized but failing companies be brought under democratic control of workers and consumers. Attempts by the heavily armed detachment of security personnel to restrain the protesters from entering the National Assembly complex failed as they were overwhelmed by the huge number of protesters who were in their thousands. They soon gained access to the stretch of the dual carriage way leading to the main gate of the complex and were met very close to the NASS main entrance by the Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihediora who attempted to receive the protesters message at the entrance. His attempts were futile as the protesters shouted him down and insisted on entering the premises of the NASS complex. He was forced to retrace his steps back into the safety of the cordoned off entrance. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/09/22/labour-wants-obj-ibb-arrested-for-economic-crimes-rally-cripples-capital/ |
OmoLisabi:its not only dead people. abdulsalami abubakar is alive. he willl be arrested and questioned in due course i believe. more names will be exposed as this nation and its past and present leaders are bunch of blood-thirsty criminals. |
Fro what I read from the article, Ahmadu bello was murdered by major Nzeogwu a south-southerner, and Tafawa Balewa was killed by Ifeajuna a south-southerner as well. |
My northern brothers unleashed mayhem to innocent south-easterners who barely participated iIn the January coup. Uptil this day these people still suffer what they know nothing about. The south-south who spareheaded and carried out the coup are not suffering, rather Nigerians gave to them the presidency of this country in a "coup-style" election. |
