International election observers on Sunday called for the cancellation of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Rivers.
The leader of African Centre for Leadership Strategies and Development, Mr Humphrey Bekaren, who spoke on behalf of the observers, made the call in Port Harcourt.
He said the observers were shocked that INEC disregarded the widely reported violent irregularities to begin the process of declaring results in the state.
“We request all lovers of democracy to join us in calling for the outright cancellation of the phony election.
“Unless this is done, we would have sown the seed that could eventually grow into providing a shade of fear and death over us,” he said.
According to Bekaren, what happened in Rivers was a far cry from what election should be.
“What we saw did not meet international standard of electioneering, not even the ones set by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,’’ he said.
BuddahMonk: I will like to use this medium to congratulate my Igbo people for giving APC similar treatment they gave to Islam some centuries ago. The quest to deep the koran in the Ocean is on course still because its been deep in the coast of Lagos SW Nigeria without much opposition but the march to the shores of Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Oron is still very much alive having failed in presidency they are likely to use the likes of Rochas in Imo, Dakuku in Rivers and Oshiomole in Edo to complete the routing.
Igboland is not a conquered territory and its only in Igboland that Islam is non existing, they rejected the religion and all the goodies that they claim to preach, once again thanks for them for rejecting APC the political wing of Islam in Nigeria to perpetuate themselves into Igboland through electoral process when military might failed.
South West Nigeria was conquered by the Fulanis which automatically make them a Gambari territory by conquest so ready to assimilate and consume anything giving to them by force and under duress. Those that are dragging the South into slavery are predominantly Muslims of SW Nigeria and when you check their voting pattern it was glaring, Ekiti State have the least number of them and they voted against slavery, Lagos the economic capital of the country the vote was almost shared between the two dominant religion in the citystate, so it was glaring that the battle is more than political but of religious conquest.
When the South South went to the poll, with 6 States but they have no or little muslim population only in Auchi a town of less than 50000 people, the voting pattern in SS define how Nigeria is polarized along not just ethnic and tribal lines but on religious grounds.
When you check the voting pattern you discovered that those that voted for PDP in North are those that are under series of attack by the buccaneers, barbaric and bloodthirsty Fulanis, so they decided to vote a protest vote because they are tired of being under perpetual servitude, they want to make serious statement, they are pulling out gradually from monolith North and everybody is seeing how things are moving now, they voted and owe nobody any apology.
Ngige have been rejected, Rochas should get ready to flee from Douglas House because we don't like it when some undesirable elements try to infiltrate our congregation some strange bedfellows just because of the mistake of a stvpid whiteman.
Rejecting APC and whatever they stand for is a clear indication that Islam making a serious foothold in Igboland will be next impossible even in Spanish styled inquisition.
Once Rochas is booted out of Douglas House we will wash the entire Igbo state with Olive Oil and Mustard seed for spiritual cleansing, the Mosque he built in government house will be demolished to give way for a Museum of Igbo Cultures.
Congrats once again for rejecting APC, they want to use the Othoman style to penetrate into igboland, they want to use some Afonjas in Igboland to penetrate like they did and conquered Oyo empire which is under APC now as a political party, Igboland have not fallen to any empire, dynasty or kingdom. When the whiteman came they met stiff opposition in present day Anioma called the Ekumeku War, it was fought for close to two decades before the whiteman can penetrate despite having modern and sophisticated weaponry.
When the whiteman came down to Southern Igboland they faced more dangerous war called the Aro War, it was fought with massive casualties on the British side, they didn't have it so easy getting into Igboland.
When they got to the Nri kingdom they were engaged in another round of war that was fought, they were fought at Udi...the list is endless untill the whiteman finally penetrated, it didn't end there because they were been pushed around by strong Igbowomen in Aba around 1929.
If it was these hard for the whiteman to penetrate Igboland, so is APC and her Islamic foot soldiers trying to penetrate Igboland like a knife running through a butter jar and expect no bottleneck, do they think they can penetrate Igboland by offering Igbo youths money to convert to Islam like Rochas is doing, do they think that offering Igbos juicy appointment like Senate president or Speaker will make more Igbo households automatically convert to Islam?
Please APC and her sugar coated poison, Ndigbo have spoken and they owe nobody apology, they chose to die on their feet than to live on their knees, the people have spoken the land aint for the faint of heart.
God bless Igboland God bless Biafrans
You are very silly and bitter for losing an election. You need Jesus in your life. He will wipe your tears away.
Plshavmercyamen: Is Imo State part of the Igbo States you're thanking? If Yes, I, as Nwa afo Imo State don't need your thanks cos myself and most Imolites are neither parochial nor hate filled. So, let nobody drag us into this mess. Udo diri unu
We all know imolites voted against the pdp. Forget the doctored results.
Governor of akwaibom state, Godswill akpabio has polled a total of 422,009 votes to win his senatorial bid. It is expected that akpabio will win the elections, but the number has a "pdp wonder" associated with it.
Sporadic shootings was witnessed around 10:30am Saturday in Ozuaha community in Ikwerre Local Government Area. Thugs who had barricaded the road into the town, opened fire on a team of policemen and military police escorting Corps members to their polling unit.
The gun duel which lasted for about 25 minutes, has since left the town looking like a ghostyard. According to a police officer who helped brought the situation under control, the armed thugs advanced towards Ubima, hometown of governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi.
As a result of the development, the corpers and electoral materials were kept in several buses, preparing to leave the community. Our correspondent who arrived the area 5 minutes after the gun duel, saw pieces of shattered ballot boxes on the major road leading into the town. Tension was still very high when our correspondent left the area 30 minutes later.
Eneka-iguruta road which used to be a death trap has been dualised with sidewalks and streetlighting by the Rivers governor Amaechi. Congrats Rivers people
Sources told SaharaReporters that President Goodluck Jonathan has given up on a plan to preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from using card readers in the elections. That had emerged after another plan, to boost the PDP’s chances by sacking INEC chair Attahiru Jega failed when the United States and the European Union told President Jonathan that he will be sent to the International Criminal Court should his plan to manipulate the elections cause bloodletting in Nigeria.
After extensive discussion with an ibo friend of mine, I realized it was very much possible for buhari to get bloc votes from the ibos. Jonathan who is Ijaw may have hoped to play the usual ethnic card. But my friend reminded me that in 2007 the ibos voted a fulani against their hero Ojukwu. Infact Ojukwu lost in his state Anambra. Who then is Jonathan? he queried
Former Niger Delta militant leader, Chief Government Ekpomukpolo alias Tompolo, and other Ijaw youth leaders have warned President Goodluck Jonathan to stay away from the groundbreaking ceremony of the $16 billion export processing zone project scheduled for Friday at Ogidigbenm Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Ekpomukoplo and his kinsmen issued the warning on Wednesday at Oporoza, his country home, where they addressed a world press conference to express their protest against the naming of the project after Ogidigben, an Itsekiri community.
They threatened to resort to self-help if steps were not taken to rectify the anomalies with the naming of the project.
At the venue of the press conference, angry Ijaw youths, with white head scarves, drove a convoy of speed boats recklessly to show their naval prowess.
Some of the placards they carried read, ‘Gbaramatu may resort to self help.’ ‘EPZ Escravos, Gbaramatu youths says no,’ ‘Inaugurate Gbaramatu Kingdom EPZ Interface Committee,’ ‘we welcome EPZ project but call for fairness,’ ‘Don’t mistake our peaceful disposition to weakness’ and ‘Gbaramatu Kingdom says no to the naming of EPZ after Ogidigben.’
At the press conference, Ekpomukpolo said the Ijaw want President Jonathan to stay off the ceremony until their demands were met.
Chief Godspower Gbenekama, who read the address of Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs, said they were drawing the attention of the Presidency and the world to the injustice and unfair deal being meted out on the Ijaw people of Gbaramatu Kingdom on the on-going EPZ project.
He called on the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to address their demands to avert another bloody crisis in the area.
He noted that the Ijaw, had through formal means, made their grievances known to the various organs of government.
eduj: always knew that's why he decamped from Apga.in as much as i know this would annoy my kins,i dare say we Igbo's aren't ready or better still it isn't the right time for igbos to rule Nigeria. we have previously paid for doing the right thing at the wrong time -eg the first coup, aguyi taking over at a time of great igbophobia, declaring succession only when we faced total destruction as a race. We must first develop our economy in the south east and consolidate our position such that we become indispensable to Nigeria(or at least some regions). We are just beginning to find footing politically in Nigeria since after the war .gej played a good part in this development.besides the northern and south west parts of Nigeria dont trust us wholly yet.our south south brethren are beginning to identify with us,we shouldn't do anything to jeorpadise it.mostly, for once we igbos should sit on the fence and watch other parts struggle it out.the patient dog the say eats the biggest bone.
U have a slave mentality. The South south should be the ones to support the Ibos. It is payback time for all the support they enjoyed in 2011 from them.

If Obama comes, then akpabio becomes the greatest nigerian governor. If he fails to come and the state government claims a representative came on his behalf, it is safe to say that akpabio is the greatest nigerian fraudster of recent time.
