Aside dry cell battery being safer, the maintenance has zero cost. It can last as many years are you want.

for all my FANs, I just buy RECHARGEABLE FANs, switch out their batteries, and use them like it's AC, but now on DC

Where do you people get your alternate facts from. As long as you do not abuse your batteries and try to make sure you do not discharge them up to zero, they will last.
The one I used before, I sold to a friend and he is still using them. This is the third year they have been in use

Shipping cost; The battery box is shipped without distilled water most times, so it is lighter than dry cell batteries.
When it lands here, they fill it, priced increased.
The regular maintenance cost too...

I use dry cell. The lithium battery does not take much time before it will start having problems and requiring change of acid but dry cell will last until the duration without any pro. My friends who bought lithium are envying me right now. Secondly I have move to a bigger office which forced me to disconnect and reconnect the battery and nothing happened to it.

Lithium batteries is more profitable to both marketers and engineers, that is why they will always recommend it.

Battery Longevity depends on usage and what you use in charging it.

Lithium and dry cell batteries has both advantages and disadvantages...

As for Longevity, it depends on your usage:

(i) if you charge your batteries with normal Generator, and
(ii) you wait for it to completely drain itself before the next charge
The batteries won't last.

- Charging with PHCN (Nepa) Light, (a lot of Solar panels basically useful during the day)
- don't allow the inverter start making noise (battery low) before the next charge,
- use minimal load
You will enjoy your batteries either dry cell or Lithium.

Lithium batteries are more profitable to marketers and engineers than dry cell...I rest my case here
