PoliticsRe: Shock As America Says Boko Haram Is Now Winning by major466(m): 6:40pm On Jun 19, 2015
Don't be decieved by US propaganda. Their analysis on Boko Haram is a covert tactics to justify the need for the establishment of a Military Base (Africom) in Nigeria as hinted by Campbell. Notice he said we don't have sufficient troops to fight Boko Haram. To them, Africom is the final solution for Nigeria and Africa to fight terrorism.

PoliticsRe: Igbos, South Southerners, Nigerians, Say No To Nuclear Power Station In Nigeria by major466(m):
I endorse this thread.
Its true that Nuclear power is one of the cheapest mode of power generation. Just one or two fuel rods is enough to produce huge amount of power for years non-stop. it is very cost effective. With these advantages, Nuclear power seems to be the best alternative to power generation for a power hungy nation like Nigeria. But like all disadvantages, there are serious disadvantages of Nuclear power generation.
Chief among them is the Deadly Waste produced by nuclear power plants. Radiation is a very powerful substance with great ability to penetrate thick walls. A nuclear fallout as a result of negligence or accident will send radiations waves flying across the atmosphere causing serious health hazards to animals and plants. If just small amount of radiation waves can penetrate through walls, what will happen when large does of it escape into the atmospherehuh
PoliticsRe: Vendetta: Dambazau Shuts DSS Boss Out Of Security Meeting by major466(m): 3:39pm On Jun 18, 2015
Already militerizing Aso Villa. Anybody observing a pattern herehuh Mr Commisioner (Osimbade) was bared from the security meeting, now DSS Director bared from security meeting. They are uncomfortable with Femi Adeshina as Special Adviser to the President but inlove with Garba Shehu. The cabal seem to have a nag with Christian officials. Anyway, am not surprise at all. Infact I saw it coming.
Expect more bombshells from Born to Rule elements.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Signs That Its A GNLD Job Invite.... by major466(m): 1:07pm On Jun 18, 2015
Honestly GNLD is a reputable company. They manufacture some of the best food supplements and home care products in the world. I use their products.
The major problem is the distributors. Most of them employ the use of deception to lure unsuspecting public to it. They feel that by deception, they will make quick money. They have no idea what it takes to build a real network of people in MLM.
By and large, Multi Level Marketing is a good business. Infact, the fastest way to becoming a millionaire is through MLM. Just make sure you make a reveiw of the company and know the nature of the business before you venture into it.

PoliticsRe: Fg Picks Geregu, Itu As 2,400mw Nuclear Power Sites by major466(m): 6:24pm On Jun 17, 2015
yemi15:
I am on board with coal power plants, India is a good model for coal power plants. Nigeria has a large deposit of coal which should be utilized to bring electricity to Nigerians. Besides, it is way cheaper than nuclear power but unfortunately, not environmentally friendly (better in terms of industrial accident consequences than nuclear power in my opinion).

Added advantage is there is no pipeline vandalism - the main problem with gas power plants (a possible solution could be liquefied natural gas instead which can then be transported in rail tracks to the power plants), railway tracks can be routed from the mines to the power plants. Nice idea, the government should be looking into instead of a potentially unsafe and hazardous nuclear power.
Exactly. With coal, generating 10,000MW of electricity can be achieved within a short peroid of time, maybe 10 years or less.
The risk associated with coal are much much less compared with Nuclear Energy. Some will argue that Nuclear power generates clean energy compared to coal. Yes its true, interms of green house emissions nuclear power standsout. However the waste produced by Nuclear energy sources are non biogradable and highly catastrophic compared to coal energy.

hansad:
PMB does not seem to understand that north of Nigeria is like Somalia - more or less. But he is focused on those he called crazy people that talk about splitting up the country.

Methinks, for Buhari and his fellow travellers on the boat of one indivisible Nigeria, so long as crude oil flows from the Niger delta areas, Nigeria is intact for them - no problems.

It's only a most diffident lot who brlieve they can't survive in a country without crude oil who would want to belong to a country like Nigeria wrecked by Boko Haram.
Boko Haram says it's fighting for a country friendly with sharia criminal justice system, sharia criminal justice system also adopted by 12 northern states before Boko Haram emerged.

Boko Haram persists in Nigeria because it has millions of people in northern Nigeria with whom it shares the same aspirations for a country governed by sharia criminal justice system.
Exactly! Terrorism worldwide thrives because of support and extreme ideological beliefs the terrorist share with the locals. Until they North East crush these 'Extreme Religous Belief System, Boko Haram will continue unabated.

PoliticsRe: Fg Picks Geregu, Itu As 2,400mw Nuclear Power Sites by major466(m):
The technology involved in Nuclear power plant is highly advanced. It will take more than 30 years for Nigeria to reach the desired capacity to handle a Nuclear power station.

The risk associated with these technologies are life threatening with severe consequencies, not only to humans but the environment. The biggest risk of all is not even the power plant itself, - it is the WASTE. How are we going to handle nuclear wastehuh Where are they going to be disposedhuh Nuclear waste especially Plutonium are very harmful substances with dangerous consequences when accidentally exposed to the environment. To make matters worse, they can be use to make nuclear weapons. Is it a good idea to venture into Nuclear power with these associated security risk even as we faced security challenge like Terrorismhuh What if terrorist get hold of nuclear wastehuh or decide to bomb the facility as part of their terror campaignhuh What happenshuh
Its important we understand that a nuclear termination as a result of accident or natural disaster will render the location and surrounding areas unhabitable for more than 100 years! Which means that thousands of people in that area will have to abandon their lands and be evacuated to another area. Are we ready for that kind of challenge (God forbid) if it happenshuh The risk far outweights the advantages.

The fact that Japan and Germany are having a rethink about Nuclear Power plants calls for concern.
Instead of nuclear power, Nigeria should spread her tentacles to coal, hydro, gas, wind and thermal power plants as credible alternatives.
PoliticsRe: Us Donated $5million To Nigeria, Not $5billion (photo & Audio Proof) by major466(m): 9:44pm On Jun 16, 2015
So it is $5 millionhuh What da heck is wrong with some journalisthuh Deep down I knew the figure $5 billion to be fishy. The US I know hardly gives aid to the tune of a bilion dollars to Africa as a whole talkless of one African country.
PoliticsRe: Do You Still Remember USA................? by major466(m): 6:52pm On Jun 16, 2015
The $5 billion pledge to Nigeria is not without strings. The Ultimate target is creation of a US Command Center (C.O) in Nigeria on the pretex to supplement the MNMTF (Multi National Joint Military Task Force of Nigeria, Niger Republic, Chad and Cameroon) fight terrorism in Africa. This gesture will seem noble at first, but in the end it will spell doom for Nigeria because a command center is basically a Military Base. A US led Military Base on our soil will jeopadize Nigeria's sovereinty.
The goal of the United States government is to station its military machine in strategic places across the globe for 'Special Duties'. What are these special dutieshuh Time will tell.

PoliticsRe: NASS Leadership: Again, Tinubu Tears Into Buhari, Atiku by major466(m):
APC at the moment is rattled with many leaders. Each leader with his personal interest wanting to have his way one way or another. They cleverly pursue their personal ambition through party learship decisions as cover.
When guys like Tinubu say President Bubu encouraged the rebellion against the party in NASS, I ask - was the rebellion against the party or actually against him (Tinubu) huh Was the choice candidates for NASS leadership taken collectively by the party leadership and its members or by an individual hidding under the shadow of partyhuh Going by what happened in the National Assembly, it becomes very obvious that a large chunk of APC members were not happy with the party's choice to anoint individuals for NASS leadership, when these individuals are hand picked by the leaders and favoured at the expence of the others. Why won't members rebel against the party when they percieve that personal interest of party leaders are presented as party decisionhuh The leaders especially Tinubu run the party like personal properties. You can't run a party of people with divers cultural and social backgound like that and expect everyone to be happy. The crisis in APC is a pointer to the fact that they lack internal democracy.
