Anyone who has read the Qur'an very well and know the lifestyle of muhammed will not make such choice. The Qur’an is based completely on the personal experiences of one illiterate man spanning a period of 23 years.Only one person allegedly saw the “angel.” Only one person allegedly heard a voice. The entire faith is limited to one book with only one person who allegedly received the vision. There is absolutely no way to verify anything. Our question is, “Does not this then mean that the only way to become a Muslim is to take this one man’s word for it?” Man let alone will always chose death rather than life. * Modified* All you people that are calling me names, enter in here and defend your religion https://www.nairaland.com/2381817/contradictions-analyzed-bible-quran |

HardMirror: so sorry I don't have anti yaweh views. I only have common sense views. This just another evidence that the bible is written by men and had nothing like inspiration from god (else it won't contradict itself so many times) the logical explanation is legends and stories are passed down orally and recorded by different scribes, their will be slight variations to this accounts. The scribe that copied the Kings version goes with the God evil inspiration to david, the scribe that copied out the chronicles version must have felt god is not evil so he says it is the devil. Now left to you to figure out the truth. But I think it is clear I don't think you are a pastor before you became atheist, their is one thing I observe in ALL your thread, and its pride. Trying to count your success. The bible did NOT contradict itself, rather, the bible contradict you. |

1st Chronicles 21 : Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel...
Two accounts of the same story in the same bible, but one account said it was the Lord and another said it was Satan ....................................................................................
Please is the bible contradicting itself or was it a mistake from the writer? someone said Jehovah was satan...lol don't want to believe that.....
bible scholars, pls help Muafrika2 KingEbukasBlog winner01 Joagbaje in 1 chronicle 21:3 joab the prophet warn david not to conduct the census, still david go against this command. God allow him to conduct it because He want to bring david on his knell, david was looking back at his victory with pride, the canannite, syria and other nation were dependent to israel, thanks to david. The Lord therefore decided that it was time that David be brought to his knees, where he would once again be cast back onto the mercy of God. So he let him go ahead with his census. What about Satan? Why would he get himself involved in this affair (according to 1 Chronicles 21:1) if God had already prompted David to commit the folly he had in mind? It seems his reasons were entirely malicious, knowing that a census would displease the Lord (1 Chronicles 21:7- , and so he also incited David to carry it through. This is not new to us, we see the samething happen to job , we find a challenge to Satan from God allowing Satan to bring upon Job his calamities. God’s purpose was to purify Job’s faith, and to strengthen his character by means of discipline through adversity, whereas Satan’s purpose was purely malicious, wishing Job as much harm as possible so that he would recant his faith in his God. |

If there is a possibility of the Biblical Jesus, ever making a return trip, to planet Earth, he will definitely give Christian leaders and their gullible followers, the same treatment he gave to merchants and their customers, in the Jewish temple, as recorded in the Bible. Jesus' statement of denial will be, 'get away from me, you workers of iniquity'.
On a seious note, what happened to the power of the Holy spirit, to lead and direct Christians to the right path as taught by Jesus? Could it be that the Holy spirit present in the Catholic Church is different from the Holy Spirit operating in the Baptist church or the other christian churches worldwide?
I will not be surprised if Jesus comes and enters a Buddha temple out of provocation and shame, because from all indication, what Christians are practising today, is completely different from the gospel Jesus preached in the Bible. the Lord knows those that are His own, read the bible and obey His command. Thank you. |

frosbel2: In the CHURCH , there is NO singular PASTOR in the context of Moses or Joshua, what we have are care takers whose main purpose is to protect the brethren, not to draw disciples after themselves with different church names, different doctrines and different objectives which really is babel or confusion.
"But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers" - Matthew 23:8 so what is the difference ? Moses, whom God appoint to lead the flock and a pastor of this generation which God chose ? Or are you saying God has abandon man ? Are you tring to say God has stop communicating with us ? I understand you VERY much, their are pastor who are NOT call by God, but their are genuine pastor who God chose to lead his flock also. |

Frosbel2.God is not just our pastor, He is our everything. In fact All save men should be a pastor, but when the bible speak of man of God, its speak of a man with specific purpose.
"And this is the blessing, where with Moses the MAN OF GOD blessed the children of Israel before his death." Deu. 33:1.
Would it be wrong for the children of isreal to call moses pastor ? In fact the bible say moses bless the children of is israel, God gave him the AUTHORITY.
You can tell a true man of God by who follows him. Moses is referred to as a man of God and Joshua followed him. Elijah is referred to as a man of God, I Kings 17:18, and who followed him? Elisha. |

If Christians were Christians, there would be no denominations in the Christian world. If Christians were really Christians, they would not quarrel with one another, nor separate from one another, but rather would be members together in the "one body of Christ". Can you picture Jesus coming back to earth today and seeking out the fellowship of his own, walking the streets and looking at its Churches?
"This Church", his guide would say, "is a Baptist Church." "Baptist?" Jesus would ask, "What is a Baptist Church?" "This Church", his guide would say, "is a Presbyterian Church." Jesus would ask, "What do you mean by a Presbyterian Church?" "This Church", his guide would say, "is a Catholic Church." Jesus would say, "I have never heard of a Catholic Church before". Jesus would ask them, "WERE IS THE CHURCH OF GOD?" |

You can check it out for yourself. John gills, Barnes, Mathew Henry and many other commentators translated it the way I did which is summarised as the bonding factor for the love of God is in Christ, once this bond is established, nothing else can break it. Be it angels, humans, other beings. ........
So how am I wrong in the way your scholars translated it it is the subject and not the object, let me give you an example, look at how terrorist are killing christians, isis and boko haram. is that Paul spells out the kinds of things that cannot separate us from the love of Christ, and they are the sort of things that happened t Everyday: "Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?" The reason Paul chose to mention so many terrible things is to make sure we knew he was not saying: Well, there are some things so horrible that they really could separate us from the love of Christ. No. Nothing can separate us from Christ’s love. |

You don't know what you are saying here, that is why this atheist are in support with you, so God should not cast anyone to hell ? If Allah is merciful, why will he cast sinner to hell ? cloudgoddess: So because there is a condition, then by definition the love being offered is conditional. Do you understand? this how you interpret bible which lead you to your present state of belief, listen!! Jesus is not just talking about a door. He is talking about a door which is initially CLOSED. This is a closed door which is both keeping us IN, and keeping Jesus OUT. It is a barrier separating us. But once the door is opened, then it is no longer a barrier. It is then a gateway. It is a point of entry. So here we have a closed door which is a barrier. But IF any one will open it, it is no longer a barrier. It is then a gateway. Understand ? |

OgundeleT: if of has a room for truth then it will be stated and in such a case we don't call such a love unconditional, but a conditional love. if you love your child unconditionally you don't need to give such a child law since if he/she err u cant hurt or punish the child because irrespective of the condition you will always love the child
i wont, but i will call such a love a conditional one and the proper one because such a father must have let the child know the conditions involve and the penalties
these are conditions and whoever wrote it for his/her child before loving such a child has given conditions and we can no more call it unconditional love. so if god exist and love it is unconditional has atheism block your sense of reasoning ? cloudgoddess: Do people who don't believe in Yahweh or the divinity of Christ recieve this love? Not just atheists, but people of other religions that do not subscribe to the bible's description of god? YES, the door is open for EVERYONE, including you. “Behold! I stand at the door and knock. IF any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with me.” ( Revelation 3:20 NIV) Their is something you need to understand here, the word "IF" imply it is a decision you need to make, and this decision must comes from your heart, it is NOT by force." If anyone here my voice" why did jesus say this ? Because He leaves it up to us whether to open the door and invite Him in or not, this invitation is open to EVERYONE, ALL religious people. “He came into the very world He created, but the world didn’t recognize Him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected Him. But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:10-12 The reason jesus knock at your door, He came for the relationship. |
