I now ask you to do the same for the following 2 temptations that were mentioned. Instead of maintaining the same clarity of speech you decide to dance atilogwu instead. What are you afraid of? What are you hiding? see, you are missing the point, the forty days fasting is the time when jesus has weakness ( hungry) Why dint satan came to Him again after the fasting ? So I asked you what weakness he was attacking when he offered him the Kingdoms. Was it megalomania? If not, just say, 'no it's not' and then tell us what the weakness was.
And also that for jumping off high place. What was the weakness? Was Jesus uncertain of God that he felt a need to test him for confirmation?
If you feel you can't answer these questions that okay too, but in that case just spare me the mentions. malvisguy212: For All the days of jesus on earth, the forty days fasting is the weakest point of his ministry, that is a very Good time for the enemy to approach and do all his trick.. |

PastorAIO: And what about the offer to rule all the kingdoms of the world?
Did Satan see a sign of megalomania?
And jumping from the high place?
Did he feel that Jesus needed to test God? before the temptation occur, what did the first verse say ? "Then Jesus was LED by the SPIRIT into the desert to be tempted by the Devil Matthew 4:1" The holy spirit led Him into the desert, why ? So that the devil should tempt Him. The motive of the spirit is to prove that The SON IS GOD, Just as the father is God. For All the days of jesus on earth, the forty days fasting is the weakest point of his ministry, that is a very Good time for the enemy to approach and do all his trick. the first sin in Genesis is related to food, satan say "did God actually say..." Compare in matthew, when he tell jesus " if you are the son of God" (contradict God word). Secondly satan say to eve "you will not surly die" and then compare to what he told jesus " jump of this mountain" (God did not mean what he say) thirdly, satan say to eve "you will be like God" plus what he say to jesus "if you could worship me" Clearly written, satan is question God's authority and contradicting them, if jesus is who He say He was, and what the father say about Him during the baptism. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Shepherd Psalm by malvisguy212(op): 9:10am On May 30, 2016 |
malvisguy212: Psalm 23 has six verses. It is especially appreciated by unsaved church people who like to think the Lord is their Shepherd when He's not. Unfortunately, some of the better known portions of Scripture are the portions that deal with anything except salvation. Perhaps the most well known verses of Scripture--or portions--are the Sermon on the Mount, I Corinthians 13,the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and Psalm 23. Now, the reason why these are favorites is because nothing in one of those passages could tell anybody how to be saved. And all those passages assume the man is either an Old Testament saint or a New Testament saint. So all unsaved people like those portions of Scripture that don't call their sins to their attention.
But since we(born again) are saved, we do know the Lord is our Shepherd, and that He is our personal Shepherd. And I can truthfully say that the Lord is my shepherd individually.
This is the Shepherd Psalm.Psalm 22 deals with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and resurrection. Psalm 23, then, deals with the relationship of the Lord Jesus Christ to the individual saint after the resurrection. And Psalm 24 plainly speaks of the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Psalms are laid out in prophetic order: Psalm 22, the crucifixion; Psalm 23, a picture of the Church Age; and Psalm 24, a picture of the Second Advent.
Psalm 23 has a beautiful outline: In verse 1 we have a happy life. In verse 4 we have a happy death. And in verse 6 we have a happy eternity. In the great Psalm, Psalm 23, we find the Lord is with me, He is beneath me, He is before me, He is around me, He is after me, and He is ahead of me. Psalm 23 is David historically speaking about his relationship with the Lord, and pictures the relationship of the Christian who's got into the right fold.
The Lord is my shepherd" Notice the personal wording. The Lord is not our shepherd. The Lord is my shepherd. There's a big difference when you get to know the Shepherd. "The Lord is my shepherd.
The Lord is my Shepherd: That's Relationship! I shall not want: That's Supply! He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: That's Rest! He leadeth me beside the still waters: That's Refreshment! He restoreth my soul: That's Healing! He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness: That's Guidance! For His name sake: That's Purpose! Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death: That's Testing! I will fear no evil: That's Protection! For Thou art with me: That's Faithfulness! Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me: That's Discipline! Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: That's Hope! Thou annointest my head with oil: That's Consecration! My cup runneth over: That's Abundance! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: That's Blessing! And I will dwell in the house of the Lord: That's Security! Forever: That's Eternity! |

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The very next verse (Exodus 20:6) confirms that God shows mercy on the children who love Him and keep his Law. Christianity Etc › Re: The Nature/character Of Temptation. by malvisguy212: 6:06pm On May 29, 2016 |
PastorAIO: Now consider this:
12Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 13Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James chapter 1
So if Jesus is God and God cannot be tempted then what can we say happened to Jesus in the wilderness? I believe that James is right when he says that temptation starts with your own desire. At least that is my experience. So what is the nature of what happened to Jesus in the wilderness? There are differences between trial and temptation, both word come from the same greek word, but when this word is use in the bible, the CONTEXT determine the meaning. Temptation comes from the FLESH, trial are sent from God. He allowed Satan to test Job (Job 1:6-12). Therefore when we speak of "trial" we see God's fingerprints; when we see temptation, we see our own the devil's. Temptation attack a WEAK spot, trials are meant for the STRONG spot. |

Islam › Re: Antidote For Islamophobia, 'ISLAMOPHOBIN' by malvisguy212: 8:08am On May 27, 2016 |
In Islam, it is not how one lives that
guarantees salvation, but how one dies.
To die while fighting the infidels in the
cause of Allah is the only sure way for
Muslims to be assured of a place in
Paradise. Pious muslims will be taken to hell
until the day of judgment.
Surah 9:111: Allah hath purchased of
the believers their persons and their
goods; for theirs in return is the
garden of Paradise: they fight in H
is cause, and slay and are slain.
(Yusuf Ali)
Surah 17:33: And do not kill the soul
which Allah has forbidden EXCEPT BY RIGHT.
Surah 17:33 is an important verse for
suicide-bombers. This Qur’anic verse not only
justifies their own suicidal deaths but it also
justifies the unintended killing of other Muslims
in the process. Since the jihadist goal is to
defeat the infidels and establish the right of
Islamic rule at all cost, they believe the end
justifies the means.
Therefore, the purpose of these suicide
bombers is not just to kill themselves but to kill
the enemies of Islam. In the mathematics of the
jihadist, the most effective way to kill as many
infidels is by means of this extremely evil
method. The suicide bombers believe that they
are rewarded, not for simply dying, but for dying
as a means for killing. Thus, their own death is
sanctioned by Allah and is accepted as a
necessary sacrifice. They are honored as
martyrs because they died in the fight against
the enemies of Islam.
THE BARGAIN OF Allah
It may surprise many to learn that all
Muslims, including Muhammad will
descend into “Hell” before being rescued from it
on the “Day of Resurrection.” The “Day of
Resurrection” or “Qiyamah” refers to the time of
the end. This means that even as you are
reading this article, Muhammad and his pious
followers are in “Hell” awaiting deliverance. The
following Qur’anic verse and Hadith attests to
this teaching in Islam.
Surah 19:71: “It is the inevitable
decree of your Lord that EVERYONE OF YOU
WILL BE TAKEN TO HELL .”
THE ONLY WAY TO BYPASS THE PUNISHMENT IN
SURAH 19:71.
However, there is a way for Muslims to
bypass “Hell” and head straight into
Paradise. Allah makes a bargain with
Muslims to show how this is possible.
Surah 61:10-13: O YE WHO BELIEVE SHALL I
LEAD YOU TO A BARGAIN THAT WILL SAVE YOU
FROM A GRIEVOUS PENALTY ? – That ye believe
in Allah
and His Messenger, and that ye
strive your utmost in the Cause of
Allah , with your property and your
persons: That will be best for you, if
ye but knew! He will forgive you
your sins, and admit you to
Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,
and to beautiful mansions in
Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed
the Supreme Achievement. And
another favour will He bestow, which
ye do love, – help from Allah and a
speedy victory. (Yusuf Ali)
The above Qur’anic verses were written
in the historical context of the Battle of
Uhud (625 C.E.). In the Arabic Qur’an, the term
Jihad is used in the above Qur’anic verses. “That
ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that
ye strive (Jihad) your utmost in the Cause of
Allah.” Since all Muslims, including pious ones
will have to spend a waiting-period in the
“Islamic-Hell” before reaching Paradise, Allah
made a bargain with Muslims. He told them that
if they die fighting for his cause, he will forgive
their sins and will save them from the “grievous
Penalty” of “Hell-fire.” In other words, there is
no need to burn in the “Islamic-Hell” until the
Day of Resurrection when the faithful among
them will be rescued. Paradise will be instant
for those who die fighting for Allah.
Till today, Muslim suicide bombers are
motivated by this murderous bargain of
Allah. Allah’s bargain is still in force in
the Book of Hate. Islam reserves a place
in Paradise for cold blooded killers.
Surah 9:88: “But the Messenger, and
those who believe with him, strive
and fight with their wealth and
their persons: for them are all good
things: and it is they who will
prosper.” (Yusuf Ali) |

malvisguy212: Justification is the concept that provides our belief with the assuredness of its truth. People believe things for reasons, which provide the warrant for their belief.Without these reasons, you do not have knowledge of what you believe. If a belief is JUSTIFIED, then we have the right to believe it. Atheists got it wrong, there view was; " since you cannot know something with 100% certainty, you cannot obtain the truth (or knowledge), you just have to believe ,God did it". The bible say otherwise, in Isaiah 1:18 God is calling human to "come and let us REASON together"
This brief journey into obtaining knowledge of what you belief was done in order to show the relationship between FAITH,BELIEF AND TRUTH . Christianity requires faith, faith requires belief, and belief requires TRUTH.This is not just a mere belief but rather a trust that is characterized as knowledge.
Notice how Paul incorporates all three of these elements in his letter to the Romans, “if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). You cannot "confess with your mouth" without knowing the truth.
No matter how hard I try, I cannot make myself believe that there is a pink elephant in the room right now. I do not have direct free will over my beliefs, i.e. I can’t make myself believe something. I also cannot just tell people what to believe or exhort them to believe it. But if I don’t have free will over my beliefs, how can the Bible hold me responsible for them? The answer lies in the fact that I do have responsibility as to where I choose to focus my mind. I have free choice in body movements and where to place my attention (what you choose to think about). I have to choose to be preoccupied with something to change my belief or increase my certainty in that belief .Faith in the biblical sense means trust or confidence, confident in what we know to be TRUE. You do not have to be 100% certain in a belief for it to count as knowledge.
The bible say faith alone cannot save , why? because what you have faith in must be TRUE, Biblical faith is accurate knowledge combined with ACTIVE TRUST Faith and knowledge are not opposed to each other. So Trusting faith alone does NOT save, but instead what is trusted MUST be true.
The faith Jesus had was not an absence of knowledge, but was based upon an intimate knowledge of his Father. We too can gain knowledge to make our faith richer. A |

johnydon22: But yet they are no objective evidences for your beliefs that is why you all still need faith.
You lot do not look for evidences to confirm your beliefs because the so called "evidences" are also upside down claims held unto by "faith". You only look for things to twist and lay even more claims of faith and say they are evidences.
You lot do not examine your beliefs cus if you did you wouldn't even hold them, scepticism is seen as a threat in Christianity if you lot had your ways you'd do anything to silence the mouths of sceptics and freethinkers of which i am one of..
I cannot begin to lay out the many angry mails i have received and still receive from angry christians who see my scepticism as a threat to their beliefs, the frustrated insults we get here on NL.
Scepticism is not encouraged in Christianity please stop the lies, that is why Children are discouraged from questioning their beliefs, bible or alleged words of God or they risk hell.
I asked a bus preacher a question yesterday and got "God works in mysterious ways" how does that encourage scepticism?
In fact you lot can do anything to do away with scepticism which is a flogging rod that has kept the Christian faith in moderation and is the gallow on which Faith is being murdered in this millennium of fast dwindling faith(s). liar, skepticism a threat to christian faith ? Then why does the bible encourage christians to ASK questions ? John the baptist doubt at some point, did jesus condemn him ? Jeremiah doubt at some point, did God condemn him ? See, christians don't fight those who question their faith, ask an unbias atheist, they will tell you its true. Its is islam that does that. If skepticism is not encouraging to christians faith, why does the bible encourage it ? Narrow is the way that lead to eternal life, FEW will go in their says the BIBLE, what does it imply ? God don't want large congregation, God want men with GENUINE FAITH, you speak like this because your faith is POOR, why does the bible say Faith ALONE cannot save ? Faith and evidence are incompatible.
where there is Evidence there is no faith and none needed cus there is certainty..
Faith is only needed when there is no evidence.
the two never mixes and cannot mix cus they are blatantly opposites. . CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO EXAMINE THEIR BELIEF>>>>1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But EXAMINE everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good… God wants us to know what we believe and why we believe it. We’re not called to numbly trust everything that might be taught in our world today.Skepticism is important to the Christian faith; skepticism causes us to examine what we believe and search for the evidence that confirms our beliefs |

The Christian life is more than a life of blind trust. It is a life of rational examination that challenges each of us to evaluate the evidence, form a conclusion and then share that conclusion with the world around us. Let’s examine the Biblical model of evidential faith: CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO USE THEIR MIND>>>>"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment." ( Matthew 22:37-38) When we examine our world and the evidence for the existence of God, we are worshipping God with our mind.it's either we love God with our mind or reject him, it's a choice. CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO UNDERSTAND EVIDENCE>>>>Acts 17:31 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished PROOF to all men by raising Him from the dead.” The Greek word used for "proof" in Acts 17:31 is "pistis". The word is derived from "peitho" which is a Greek verb that means "to convince by argument" that something is either true or false. We’re not called to numbly trust everything that might be taught in our world today.Skepticism is important to the Christian faith; skepticism causes us to examine what we believe and search for the evidence that confirms our beliefs. God honors this kind of skepticism because He knows that it leads to a deeper faith in Him. There is a place for skepticism in the life of the Christian because it causes us to "examine the Scriptures daily". CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO BE CONVINCED OF WHAT THEY BELIEVE>>>>2 Timothy 3:14 14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become CONVINCED of, knowing from whom you have learned them. Conviction is the result of certainty, and certainty is the result of evidential confidence. We are called to be convinced by mastering the evidence that supports what we believe. The Christians life is not one of "wishful thinking" or "hope in the unreasonable". It is a life of certainty, grounded in the evidence. CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO BE CASE MAKER>>>>1 Peter 3:15 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; Once we have examined the evidence and have come to the conclusion that Christianity is true, we are called to be ready to make a strong defense for what we believe. IN CONCLUSION; Christians can be "case makers" precisely because the Christian faith is an evidential faith. When we, as Christians, argue for the truth of the Christian Worldview, we are not sharing an opinion. There either is a God, or there is not. Jesus is that God, or He is not. Salvation comes through Christ alone (as Jesus Himself maintained), or it does not. This is not a matter of opinion, personal preference or wishful thinking. The Christian faith is grounded in evidence that can be assessed and evaluated. The Christian faith is an evidential faith. https://www.nairaland.com/2148108/christian-faith-based-upon-evidence |
