Christianity Etc › Re: The Supremacy Of The Son Of God. Colossian 1. by malvisguy212(op): 8:06am On Jun 05, 2016
malvisguy212:
The Greek term for "firstborn" is
prototokos. Firstborn of all creation does NOT mean christ was "born first" or created first, NO it refer to christ POSITION of SUPREMACY by virtue
of the fact that He is the Creator of all
things and everything came through Him
, see verse 16. The word "firstborn" in Colossians 1:15 refers to positional priority not temporal priority. For example In Psalm 89:27 King
David is placed as FIRSTBORN,but David
was actually the last-born son of Jesse.
Isreal is call "FIRSTBORN" but Israel was not the first nation that God brought into existence, but POSITIONALLY as God's chosen and privileged nation
Israel was supreme.

The simply conclusion in colossian 1 was, the word firstborn was NOT use to described chronological oder of event. It was use to express Christ's priority as the CREATOR because all OTHER created being came through HIM as verse 16 say and I quote:

" FOR IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED : things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been
created THROUGH HIM and for him. "

There is a Greek word which means FIRST CREATED (protoktistos) but Paul did not use this word of Christ.

Christianity Etc › Re: God Is Love, The Innocent Wouldn't Suffer. by malvisguy212(op): 8:04am On Jun 05, 2016
malvisguy212:
If God eradicated everyone who has ever caused pain by selfishness, cheating, lying, gossiping or hurtful
remarks, who would be left? People say, "Suffering is God's fault!", In other words,if we disobey God,it's God's fault?
conveniently forgetting times our own anger, greed and lies hurt others. To wipe out some people who cause suffering, and spare you and me, would make God guilty of gross injustice. We have each added to humanity's shame.

If there is a God of love, the people he loves and longs to place in a pain-free world are the very ones who cause
humanity's suffering.

We are so far from being innocent that we owe our very existence to sin. If, for example, we traced our family tree far
enough,we would probably each find an ancestor born as a result of sin - rape, unlawful incest, a despised pregnancy,
sex before marriage, and the like.
Humanity can boast only ONE PERFECT PERSON . We killed him.

Frequently, we hear or read a comment like this:
"I simply cannot believe in a God who
permits innocent children to starve and suffer, and men like Hitler and Stalin to murder millions of people."

The examples may vary, but the thoughts are always the same. Supposedly, this is "proof" that either God doesn't exist, or that if He does, He either doesn't care about our sufferings, or He is not powerful enough to do
anything about them. But suffering is neither proof of God's non-existence or
existence. Saying, "If God exists, why is
there suffering?" is like saying "If San Francisco exists, why are there earthquakes?" Do earthquakes occur because San Francisco causes them? Or do they occur in spite of San Francisco? Or do they have nothing to do with San
Francisco? Well, we know the answer to that question because we know about San Francisco and we know about
earthquakes. But how much do we really know about God? If we define Him by our own nature, then He cannot be of
any greater character than ourselves.

We may ascribe to Him a greater power than ourselves, but when we suppose that God should or should not act like this or that, then all we are really saying is, "He should act like I would if I
were God."

STARVING:
Now, let's look at starving children. The Bible says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. That
includes everything necessary to feed and provide for its inhabitants. Can anyone deny that the earth is capable of producing more than enough food to feed the entire globe? Well then, if people are starving, whose fault is that? If God made the earth, is He also supposed to plant and distribute our crops for us? Do you remember the tons of food that were shipped to Ethiopia,
but did not reach the starving people who needed it? Whose fault was that?

The reason that over 90% of the masses have barely enough to survive on,is that there is a problem of DISTRIBUTION, not of SUPPLY .A tiny minority have far more than they need, depriving the many.

SUFFERING:
Regarding suffering that is the result of sin, what could be clearer than Romans 1:28–29 and Galatians 6:8–9? The
unbeliever may stomp about with all vigor and complain that it is "bigotry" to associate the rise of AIDS and other diseases to sin; that biblical morality is
narrow-minded, outdated, and totally wrong. But this fact is unalterable: In a society where biblical morality is abandoned, suffering always increases.
Where biblical morality is followed, suffering always declines. Always. (Isa.59:1-4).

As to Hitler, Stalin, street gangs and senseless murders: Would any of these things happen if people followed the teachings of Jesus? Do you realize what
this world would be like if people simply followed God's instructions? There would be no murder, no wars. There would be no welfare, because families
would take care of their own (and families would stay together) and those who did not have families would be
provided for by their fellow-members in Christ. There would be no starvation… I could go on, but the point is: God has
provided us answers; whose fault is it that we don't seek them or heed them when we find them?

I suspect that those who use suffering as a "proof" of God's non-existence would not want to have their free choice taken away from them, but that's exactly what God would have to do if He were to enforce His will on the earth. For if God were to intervene in the matter of
suffering, would He not also intervene in the matter of sin? If He did, He would have to be a dictator.

Then how would we react? We would not want that, and according to the Bible, God doesn't want it either. He wants us to obey Him because we want to, not because we have to. And in order to accomplish this, He must allow two things to happen. First, in order to grant us free choice, He must provide us with graphic examples of the consequences of the wrong choice. Secondly,He must allow injustices and sufferings; otherwise he'd provide sinful mankind with every blessing and benefit without restriction. If everything in this life was fair, good and happy, what need would there be to seek a better life? Why would we seek a Deliverer, if there was nothing to be delivered from? Suffering is not something that ought to turn people away from God, but draw them to Him.
Christianity Etc › Re: Faith,belief,reason And Truth. by malvisguy212(op): 8:03am On Jun 05, 2016
malvisguy212:
Justification is the concept that provides
our belief with the assuredness of its
truth. People believe things for reasons,
which provide the warrant for their belief.Without these reasons, you do not have knowledge of what you believe. If a belief is JUSTIFIED, then we have the right to believe it. Atheists got it wrong, there view was; " since you cannot know something with 100% certainty, you cannot obtain the truth (or knowledge), you just have to believe ,God did it". The bible say otherwise, in Isaiah 1:18 God is calling human to "come and let us REASON together"

This brief journey into obtaining knowledge of what you belief was done in order to show the relationship between FAITH,BELIEF AND TRUTH . Christianity requires faith, faith requires
belief, and belief requires TRUTH.This is not just a mere belief but rather a trust that is characterized as knowledge.

Notice how Paul incorporates all three of these elements in his letter to the
Romans, “if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). You cannot "confess with your mouth" without knowing the truth.

No matter how hard I try, I cannot make myself believe that there is a pink elephant in the room right now. I do not have direct free will over my beliefs, i.e. I can’t make myself believe something. I also cannot just tell people what to believe or exhort them to believe it. But if I don’t have free will over my beliefs, how can the Bible hold me responsible for them? The answer lies in the fact that I do have responsibility as to where I choose to focus my mind. I have free choice in body movements and where to place my attention (what you choose to think about). I have to choose to be preoccupied with something to change my belief or increase my certainty in that belief .Faith in the biblical sense means trust or confidence, confident in what we know to be TRUE. You do not have to be 100% certain in a belief for it to count as knowledge.

The bible say faith alone cannot save , why? because what you have faith in
must be TRUE, Biblical faith is accurate knowledge combined with ACTIVE TRUST Faith and knowledge are not opposed to each other. So Trusting faith alone does NOT save, but instead what is trusted MUST be true.

The faith Jesus had was not an absence of knowledge, but was based upon an intimate knowledge of his Father. We too can gain knowledge to make our faith richer.

How can any sensible person remain unmoved when he or she finds the Quran saying: “strike off the heads of the unbelievers” then after a “wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives” (Q. 47:4 ).

A "deity" that claims it is the best of deceivers.

Qur'an 3:54

Qur'an 7:99

Qur'an 8:30

what examples did Mohammed set; lets see-

Muhammad had said to his followers “Whoever curses a
prophet kill him,” (Tabarani, Daraqutni) and there are
many examples of people during his time who were guilty of
blaspheming Islam and its Prophet. Most of these people were
assassinated with Muhammad's blessing, and no punishment
or compensation was imposed on the murderer.

other Examples of those who died because they criticized muhammad;
'Abdullah bin Ubai (bin Salul) - Muhammad asked his
followers to kill this man for making "evil" statements
about Muhammad's family.

Abu `Afak - Muhammad asked his followers to kill this
man for making negative remarks about Muhammad and
Islam.

Ka’b bin Ashraf - Muhammad asked his followers to kill
this man for writing inflammatory poetry about
Muhammad and Muslim women.
Asma Bint Marwan - Muhammad asked his followers to kill
this woman for composing inflammatory poetry about Islam
and Muslims.

Blind Man's Slave-Mother - When Muhammad learned that
one of his followers had stabbed and killed his slave (other
sources refer to her as a freed concubine: Umm walad ) for
making derogatory remarks about Muhammad, he declared
that " no retaliation is payable for her blood. "

I had this conversation with a Muslim cleric four days ago and with bitterness, he let me understand how some brethrens misinterprete the Quran, forgetting the difference between that time and now. the quran clearly say "strick off the head of those who disbelief" the christian woman who was beheaded, is she a muslim ? No, she is a christian, the muslims sees her as a disbeliever , so according to this quranic verse, she is suppose to be kill by beheading.

https://www.nairaland.com/2035915/did-god-create-evil-does

One of the most common reasons skeptics
reject the existence of God is due to the
presence of evil in this universe. They reason
that a perfect God would not create a universe
in which evil exists. Skeptics claim that since
God created everything that God must have also created evil. They even cite Bible verses, such as:
'' I form the light, and create darkness: I make
peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. ( Isaiah 45:7, KJV)''

'' Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the
people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? ( Amos 3:6, KJV)''
'
' Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? ( Lamentations 3:38)''

However, evil is not really a created thing. You
can't see, touch, feel, smell or hear evil. It is not one of the fundamental forces of physics, nor does it consist of matter, energy, or the spatial dimensions of the universe. Still, skeptics like to claim that God created evil and cite the Bible to "prove" their point. The Bible is quite clear that God is not the author of evil and insists that He is incapable of. doing so.
Skeptics love the KJV so much, one would think
that they were still back in medieval England. Use of this translation is problematic these days, since it uses an archaic version of modern English, which doesn't necessarily mean the same things today as when it
was translated over 400 years ago. In addition,
the KJV was produced using a limited number of medieval manuscripts that did not represent the earliest Alexandrian set of manuscripts.
WHAT DO THE MODERN TRANSLATION SAY?
1.Isaiah 45:7.
The One forming light and creating darkness,
Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am
the LORD who does all these. ( Isaiah 45:7, NASB)
I form the light and create darkness, I bring
prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do
all these things. ( Isaiah 45:7, NIV)
Isaiah 45:7 contrasts opposites. Darkness is the opposite of light. However, evil is not the
opposite of peace. The Hebrew word translated
"peace" is shallom which has many meanings, mostly related to the well being of individuals. Râ‛âh, the Hebrew word translated "evil" in the KJV often refers to adversity or calamity. There are two forms of the word. Strong's H7451a most often refers to moral evil, whereas Strong's H7451b (the form used here) most often refers to calamity or distress. Obviously,
"calamity" is a better antonym of "peace" than
"evil."
2.Amos3:6.
If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the
LORD done it? ( Amos 3:6, NASB)
When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the
people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it? ( Amos 3:6, NIV) Likewise, Amos 3:6 uses the same word, râ‛âh, referring to calamity or disaster. the context (a disaster happening to a city) does not refer to moral evil.
3. Lamentations 3:38
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that
both calamities and good things come?
( Lamentations 3:38, NIV)
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That
both good and ill go forth? ( Lamentations 3:38,
NASB) The King James Version of Lamentations 3:38 seems to suggest that God speaks both good and evil. However, if one reads the verse in context, the preceding verses indicate that God does not do or approve of evil. The verse following indicates that people should not complain in view of their sins. What the verse really is saying that God decrees times of good things and times of judgment. Lamentations was written by Jeremiah during a time
of judgment, when Judah had gone off into
exile. Jeremiah was chosen by God to be the prophet to tell Judah to reform or be judged. The people did not believe Jeremiah, and, therefore, fell under God's judgment. In Lamentations 3:38, the word translated "good" is ṭôb (Strong's H2896). The word usually refers to good things as opposed to bad things. Again, râ‛âh does not refer to moral evil, but
calamities, in this verse. Likewise, the Bible
commentaries indicate that the verse refers to
God's judgment based upon people's sin
Conclusion;
God is not the author of evil. However, God
does reward and punish on the basis of good and bad behavior. Therefore, God does bring judgment and calamity (either directly or through human authorities) on those who rebel. God will ultimately judge all people, since rebels will not be allowed in the new, perfect creation.

Before then, many of the jews would've died, and this jews believe jesus died, who will take the blame for their believe ?

According to the quran, ALL muslims are going to Hell:

Surah 19:71: “It is the inevitable decree of
your Lord that every one of you will be
taken to HELL.”

In the bible, God promise His children everlasting rest with Him in heaven, will the same God go back to his word and promise Hell to his children ? The God in the bible is different from The one in the bible,

Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0349:
“They (the angels) would recognise them
in the FIRE by the marks of prostration,
for HELL-FIRE will devour everything (limb)
of the sons of Adam except the marks of
prostration. Allah has forbidden the fire
to consume the marks of prostration.
They will be taken out of the Fire having
been burnt …”

After years of prostration to Allah, allah promise is Hell, NO SANE man will read something like this and still want to be a muslim, unless satan is manipulating you.

Sadly, most Muslims have chosen to follow the
recitation of a single, 7th century illiterate
whose book is the direct opposite of how God
chose to reveal the way of salvation over a
period of 1600 years by means of the inspired
accounts of numerous prophets and legions of
witnesses in the Holy Bible. Surah 19:71 must
be extremely disturbing to Muslims, who can
only look forward to Hell-fire immediately upon their death.

If Christians are made superior until the Day of
Resurrection as the Qur’an itself testifies, where do you think will be their final destination? Muslims should seriously consider whom they want to follow, the one who is in Hell or the one who is raised up to be with God in heaven?
Christianity Etc › Re: The Nature/character Of Temptation. by malvisguy212: 5:49pm On Jun 01, 2016
InesQor:
Yes it's hard to draw the line between a subconscious reaction and a conscious one, but each person knows when they begin "dwelling" on thoughts of sin. The very fact that we "hear" suggestions of temptation in our subconscious means we are liable to sin, but when we consciously begin to fantasize on it then the tables turn and we are dwelling in sin.

Jesus was "tempted in all ways as we are". This statement would make no sense if he never had the urges or was not liable to sin, but the key thing is that he didn't dwell on them.

John wrote about this, understanding that "newcomers in faith" (i.e. those with less experience handling sin) need to be guided out of it.
I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus Christ, righteous Jesus. When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s.

"Solving the sin problem for good" means that Jesus' sacrifice gives us a fallback when we do sin. That's some hope, at least.

And he tops it up in 1 John 2:15-17 by telling us how to keep ourselves from living in sin. Reading the below passage shows that it takes a conscious effort. The subconscious temptation in itself doesn't count, so that "number of seconds" between the subconscious and conscious can't be something fixed for everyone. Sin is isolating ourselves from God, and there are some common triggers for it.
Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

Sin places that gun in our hands, we feel the weight and contemplate using it. The choice to press the trigger is always ours, but the longer you hold on to the gun and admire its beauty and grow dependent on it for your protection, the more likely you will use it on someone.
Good one bro.

Good, that's all I was asking.
malvisguy212:
christ is a man, he was subjected to weakness, but the bible say He never sin. God the son is not subjected to weakness, He made His dwelling on the man (christ) who know no sins, God the son dwell on the man jesus because His body is sinless, purest, the bible say God hate sin, that's why God made his dwelling on christ.

One only reqiires basic comprehension skills to see the gaping holes in your logic.
Which Jesus was weak? Jesus the God or Jesus the Man? What does 'subjecting oneself to weakness' mean?
If any 'subjecting' was being done, it was Jesus taming his flesh to his will.
But, na wa.. why not just learn Greek so you can be closer to God? Who knows the many misconceptions you might have because a word was loosely or wrongly translated?

See how you constantly fail. Na so them dey fail exam o!

I did not ask you if Jesus sinned. I asked if you mean that He was subjected to weakness the way I am subjected to weakness. That's all. If you can't answer my question that's okay. Talk anything you want to talk but don't quote me as if you are addressing my question when you are not.
is their any other way humans are subjected to weakness other than the one we All knows ? You guys are very good in argument.

What exactly do you mean when you say 'subjected to weakness'. Do you mean that Jesus experienced what I experienced at the first flush of puberty, when I looked at our neighbours daughter and spontaneously had a glorious awakening. I rose to the occasion like I never knew I could.
jesus is subjected to weakness, but the bible say He never sin, He never give in to the work of the flash. Thank you for your time, have a nice day.

So according to you Malvisguy212 was wrong when he said the following:

Satan first tried the weak spot so that was temptation. Then he got desperate and decided to do 'try ur luck' in which case he would have been attacking strong spots. Therefore according to Malvis that is not temptation but Trial. And Trial comes from God.
Ergo: Satan is equal to God.

It seems to me that you are ready to twist and distort the bible just to protect certain non-biblical doctrines that you have taken up. Of course I'm not surprised.

Luke 4: 13And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.
are you doing this things on purpose ? When you made public declaration of faith, as what happen in river Jordan, that's were the devil will come in . Our Lord’s human nature enables Him to sympathize with our own weaknesses, because He was subjected to weakness, too. More importantly, we have a High Priest who is able to intercede on our behalf and provide the grace of forgiveness. .

Read matthew chapter one. it was the spirit who led jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by satan, everything happen according to God's plan.
