Agnostics often fall into two camps - those who believe that all religions can lead to God or those who believe that true religion cannot be discerned. This page examines both positions in an attempt to determine where the truth may lie. Logically, there are several possibilities. Atheists would say that no religion leads to God, since He doesn't exist. It is possible that one, several or all religions lead to God. ALL WAYS LEAD TO GOD: There are hundreds of religions in the world today, and many ancient religions that are no longer practiced. It is possible, and perhaps likely, that all religions contain some truth and/ or good moral advice. However, in examining religious teaching, it is important to examine the fundamental beliefs of each religion and compare those to each other. When this is done, it is apparent that primary religious teachings contradict each other. Judaism says that the Messiah is coming, Christianity says that He has come, and Islam says that Mohammad provided all the information necessary for religious life. Obviously, these truth claims cannot be simultaneously true, since they contradict each other. Logically, we must reject the idea that all religions lead to God. TRUE RELIGEON:IS IT POSSIBLE TO DISCERN? I believe that there are some things that we can discern about God from the nature of the universe. The universe demonstrates some remarkable evidence of design. What kind of God designed all this, and how can we know His true identity? Most people who believe God exists would agree with the argument that the God who designed the universe must be a personal God. For God to put so much time and care into the design of the universe and life, it would seem logical to conclude that God really cared about His creation, and was personally involved in it's creation. A God who did not care about his creation would never be expected to spend 14 billion years of development just so that humans would have a nice place to live for a few thousand years. Therefore, it would seem likely that the true God must be a personal God, and not the God of deism, pantheism, Buddhism, etc. So, it would seem that these religions probably do not represent the true nature of God. ELIMINATE THE ILLOGICAL: The powerful and personal Creator God of the universe would probably want to reveal Himself to His spiritual creatures. So, it seems likely that God would have revealed His true nature to one or more of the peoples of the earth. Are all the revelations of the world religions a reflection of God or just certain one(s)? This is the difficult question that cannot be answered in merely one short page. However, I believe one can come up with a best answer through much study and through the process of elimination. For example, some religions make truth claims that are obviously false. The LDS church (Mormons) claims that gods are created through procreation and that creatures created by those gods can eventually become gods themselves. However, this religion suffers from the problem of how the first god came into existence. Logic would dictate that God is eternal and uncreated. All religions that claim otherwise would seem to be logically flawed. BASIC RELIGEON CLAIM: Since many religious claims contradict one another, it would seem that not all religions could be simultaneously true. How can we tell which religion(s) are true? If you examine the world religions, most describe ethical and moral laws that are ascribed to God. Breaking of those laws is an offense to God. How do different religions handle that problem? Many religions say that if one tries to obey God's laws most of the time, God will accept you. However, I believe that we can eliminate that idea as being true of the Creator God of the universe. God designed physical laws of the universe. These laws are constant and unbreakable. God Himself, seems to break those physical laws only rarely. I propose that this God would not accept the breaking of His moral laws so easily. In fact, from the nature of the physical laws, it would seem that God would not accept the breaking of His moral laws at all. Nearly all religions claim that God will ignore our breaking of His moral laws as long as we try our best. This is where Christianity differs from all other world religions. Christianity says that our good works cannot erase our bad moral choices. Think of it in terms of our legal systems. We are convicted of crimes on the basis of breaking the law. If we break a law, we are found guilty under the law. It doesn't matter what good things we have done in our lives, if we break the law. We might get a lesser sentence, but we will still be convicted of a crime. So, God cannot simply ignore our crimes against Him. We will be found guilty, despite our good works. Christianity says that our bad deeds (sins) must be eliminated in order to be acceptable to God. The elimination of sins was accomplished by the sacrifice of the Savior (Jesus Christ). Jesus Christ is God Himself, who came to earth, led a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice to take the sins of mankind. So, God Himself provided a means of eliminating our sins against Him. However, the elimination of sins is not automatic. Since God will allow people into His presence after death, they must agree to His terms. This contract is executed through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to eliminate our sins. By accepting God's terms, our sins are erased and we can stand in the presence of God without any sin. Only our good deeds will be counted for our judgment. Those who don't accept God's terms will be judged on the basis of God's laws - and will be found guilty. CHRISTIANITY IS DIFFERENT : No other religion provides a provision for God's forgiveness of sin, which is why I believe Christianity to be the only true way to God. Jesus said He is the only way to God and that all people must follow Him to enter heaven. All other religions are man's attempt to become acceptable to God. Only Christianity says that God alone provides the only means to be acceptable to Him. So, either Christianity is true and all other religions are false or Christianity is false and God does not hold people accountable for law breaking. Personally, I would not want to rely upon God ignoring His own rules. It doesn't seem to be logical reasoning. This is the choice you must make. CONCLUSION: So, I encourage you to examine the world religions to see if what I am saying is true. Don't give up on the ability to separate the truth claims of the world's religions. If Christianity is true, you must make a choice or you will be judged on the basis of your sins against God. Let me know if you have any questions.

Christianity is not a religion. What is it sir?
you cannot see it because you do not belong to the kingdom of God. You can call us christian BUT we called ourselves "BRETHREN" because we belong to ONE family. When the disciples ask Jesus to teach them how to pray, Jesus begin with the word " OUR FATHER" why ? Because God is the Father to whoever is saying this prayer, why dint Jesus say "MY father"? But instead OUR FATHER, the moment you say our father, you become my brother in christ. That what Christianity is all about.

You wont know or hear anything about Christianity today if Emperor Constantine never made it a state religion to keep gis empire at bay...
you are right in some way. The apostles never called themselves christians,The pagans at Antioch called the apostles "Christians" first, why ? Because the apostles do not followed the commercials world of the pagan, the substance is NOT in the word, is in the HEART of the man that is attempting to describe, and which the pagan user cannot see. The disciples called each other, "brethren", "disciples", "apostles", "servants", "believers", "followers", "the faithful", "the elect", "the called", and "saints." We can also identify ourselves as "bondservants" of Christ.

This angel Phanuel does not cause repentance as that is the work of the Holy Spirit, the angel rather looks out for those who have already repented and have hope of eternal life.
The bible talks about ministering spirits.
I have read the book of enoch and whenever i read it i cannot help but bow down and worship the ancient of days, the lord of the spirits (bc he is above all spirits) Jehovah, Potent, Head of day (beginning of days) and Yeshua, Jesus, son of man, my Lord and Saviour.

hehehehehehe I am a Muslim you say? hehehehehehehe because I debunked your heretic doctrine? in the book of psalm, David professed this "and the Lord said to my lord 'seat at my right hand till I put your enemies under you' "....the Messiah always said " I came to fulfill the will of MY father in heaven"...he also said "whatever I say unto you is what I have heard my father say"..remember when Christ said this to his followers "why do you call me good? only your father in heaven is good"...again you call me a muslim? hehehehehehehe I laugh..I will always debunk your heresies!
whathuh You debunk what I say ? Alright, let do this step by step. Explained to me, why in the bible when talking about the nature of God, its uses singularity switch to plurality? Example;

Isaiah 6:8
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord
saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

The phrase "Whom shall I send" indicate ONE God (singularity) and the verse continue "who will go for US" indicate there is multiplicity involved here.

CHRISTIANITY IS LIKE EVERY OTHER RELIGION... RITUALS AND RITES MUST BE DONE, AND TO THINK THAT THEY PAINT OTHERS BLACK IS JUST SHEER HYPOCRISY.

THE RITUALS IN ORTHODOX CHURCHES ARE SO SEVERE THAT SOME EVEN QUESTION THE METHODS....

#CATHOLICS
Christianity is not even a religion, many churches have miss the point, Do you really believe that God favors your denomination over others? Quite the contrary, if your denomination professes to be “the only true way”, I can pretty well guarantee that it isn’t! Do you think that God’s intention was to have thousands of different denominations of His Church? They can’t all be right, and more than likely they’re all wrong.

Many reference in the old testament and Jesus statement indicate to us, God hate religion.

Isaiah 1:13-14 states, “Bring no more
vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons
and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblie.
it is iniquity…Your new moons and your
appointed feasts my soul hateth: they
are a trouble unto me; I am weary to
bear them.”

David prays to God in Psalm 40:6,
“Sacrifice and offering thou didst not
desire;…Burnt offering and sin offering
hast thou not required.”

Amos 5:21 says, “I hate, I despise your
feast days, and I will not smell (the odors of their sacrifices) in your solemn
assemblies.”

You see, the Israelites (Jews) of the Old
Testament had forgotten the relationship with God and became dependent upon the religious system of works and sacrifice and offerings expecting spiritual redemption or to appease God. But in these passages we see God Himself saying, “I don’t care how you shake and dance, I’m not interested in your religious activities, I want your heart.” In fact that is exactly what He expresses here in Isaiah 29:13, “ Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me …”(Jesus quoted this passage in Matt. 15:8-9 adding “…in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men .”)
Christianity Etc › Re: What Are Dreams And Confirmation Of Spiritual Purity by malvisguy212: 7:57am On Dec 28, 2015
Scripture defined dream as night vision comes from God and a vision from our heart.
Dream is a way in which the Lord speaks to men in their dreams in an effort to turn them away from evil or sign for things to comes in the future . Yet, men are unaware of this work of God upon them ("yet man does not perceive it"wink.

Job 33:14-18,
"For God may speak in one way, or in another,YET MAN DOES NOT PERCEIVE IT. In a DREAM, in a VISION of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He OPENS THE EARS OF MEN , and seals their
instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword."

Job 33:14-16, "then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction."

WHY?

Job 33:17, "In order to turn man from his deed..."

fROM OUR HEART.
In Jeremiah 23:16, the Lord says, "Do
not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; they speak a vision of their OWN HEART."

What was he speaking of ?

Jeremiah 23:25 explains further, "I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, I have DREAMED, I have DREAMED!"
Their dreams were the "deceit of their
own heart" (Jeremiah 23:26). These
false prophet's dreams were coming
from their own deceitful hearts.

If you read the story of solomon in 1 king chapter 3 and the story of abimalach in Genesis 20:1-8, you will found out, we are responsible for our dream. Tremendous blessing came upon Solomon, because he acted wisely in his dream.

The more Biblically minded we are, the more we love the Word and have Scripture running through our hearts
and minds, then the more righteous,
godly, and holy we will live, awake or
asleep.

Ecclesiastes 5:7, "For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But fear God."

People can get carried away with, or be preoccupied with, dreams and attempting to understand them. The
writer of Ecclesiastes exhorts otherwise. Don't get caught up in dreams. Get caught up in fearing God, and loving Him, and your sleep will be sweet (Proverbs 3:24).

This ish has been on my mind for a while, are we christians subconsciously engaging in ritualistic worship?

Orthodox Christians: This perhaps is the most controvertial yet documented. Recitation of prayers, processions, methodical worship to name a few.

Protestant Christians:Its more dramatic here. Its become a fad for us to add prefixes and suffixes to our prayers as we believe they add more vent and speed to the prsyers. Phrases like "holy ghost fire!", "amen......fire!", calling Jesus three times, Amen 7 times, halleluyah 7 times, etc. Are these really biblical?

What does the bible say: Jesus says in Matthew 6: 7-8 , we shouldnt engage in vain repetitive prayers for our father in heaven knows what we want already even before we ask. {paraphrased} .
Bible scholars pls come in and shed more light. Thanks
the second picture, is it talking about energetic prayer ? Energetic prayer is biblical.

James 5:16,
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The EFFECTUAL FERVENT prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

The words “effectual” and “ fervent” are actually only one word in Greek. It comes from Greek word #1754,energeo, from which we get the word “energy.” It's talking about the energized prayer. The energetic prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James gives example of one who use energetic prayer:
James 5:17
"Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he PRAYED EARNESTLY
that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months."

Luke 22:44
"...he prayed MORE EARNESTLY: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground"

if Jesus is God,then who is God,who is Jesus referring to in john 17:5,jesus is the lord ang not God,he is the king of kings.the only way to the father(God)

don't you think that other angels too are present before the WORLD BEGAN..........remember God said let (US) make man in (our) own image
Jesus has two nature, fully God and fully man, there was NEVER a time Jesus became God, but there was A time Jesus became God. In John 1 the word became flesh, the question is which among the three incarnate in Jesus ? It was God the son who incarnate in Him

Matthew 28:16-20 is a passage referred
to as “The Great Commission.” In verse
19, Jesus states:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

The word "name" is singular, and Jesus went on to mention the 3 Godhead , why dint He say "names" instead of name? Because God is ONE with 3 personalities. in genesis 1:27 we read;
"let us make man in our IMAGE.... "

The word us indicated more than one personalities but the word IMAGE indicated ONE GOD.

Alright, back to your question, in John 17:5 Jesus was referring to GOD the father in heaven.

NO!! You are mixing wisdom and sin, is wisdom a bad thing? God created adam and Eve, God wanted Adam and Eve to choose to love and trust Him. The only way to give this choice would have been to command something that was not allowed. Which is the tree of knowledge between Good and evil.Since everything else God planted in the garden was good, the natural choice of something to choose from would be knowledge of evil.

bible verse please
CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO USE THEIR MIND>>>>"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment." ( Matthew 22:37-38) When we examine our world and the evidence for the existence of God, we are worshipping God with our mind.it's either we love God with our mind or reject him, it's a choice. CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO UNDERSTAND EVIDENCE>>>>Acts 17:31 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished PROOF to all men by raising Him from the dead.” The Greek word used for "proof" in Acts 17:31 is "pistis". The word is derived from "peitho" which is a Greek verb that means "to convince by argument" that something is either true or false. CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO EXAMINE THEIR BELIEF>>>>1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But EXAMINE everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good… God wants us to know what we believe and why we believe it. We’re not called to numbly trust everything that might be taught in our world today.Skepticism is important to the Christian faith; skepticism causes us to examine what we believe and search for the evidence that confirms our beliefs. God honors this kind of skepticism because He knows that it leads to a deeper faith in Him. There is a place for skepticism in the life of the Christian because it causes us to "examine the Scriptures daily". CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO BE CONVINCED OF WHAT THEY BELIEVE>>>>2 Timothy 3:14 14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become CONVINCED of, knowing from whom you have learned them. Conviction is the result of certainty, and certainty is the result of evidential confidence. We are called to be convinced by mastering the evidence that supports what we believe. The Christians life is not one of "wishful thinking" or "hope in the unreasonable". It is a life of certainty, grounded in the evidence. CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO BE CASE MAKER>>>>1 Peter 3:15 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; Once we have examined the evidence and have come to the conclusion that Christianity is true, we are called to be ready to make a strong defense for what we believe. IN CONCLUSION; Christians can be "case makers" precisely because the Christian faith is an evidential faith. When we, as Christians, argue for the truth of the Christian Worldview, we are not sharing an opinion. There either is a God, or there is not. Jesus is that God, or He is not. Salvation comes through Christ alone (as Jesus Himself maintained), or it does not. This is not a matter of opinion, personal preference or wishful thinking. The Christian faith is grounded in evidence that can be assessed and evaluated. The Christian faith is an evidential faith.

what is consciousness without knowing you are naked?? What was god's initial intent for man?? To live in the garden naked and be jumping from tree to tree in search of fruits huh
as of that time , being naked is not a sin because the apostles paul say when there is no law, their is no violations of law
