Personally, I do not accept that a God would harden Pharoah's heart since it was the hardness of Pharoah's heart that made him enslave others in the first place. Except ancient writers did tend to think some god or another was responsible for whatever they did or whatever happened. The 'age of justification after the fact', some call it.
