and am sorry but i cannot accept cv from hnd holders cos they wont take them from me. so all the best to the hnd holders, your own is comming soonest

@ dalby,

king solomon issue na for another day. truth is there is something like morality or public morality!! am sure king solomon didnt do stuff to his wives or concubines in the full glare of his subject. so richards behaviour was quite inappropriate.

anyway, he won! congrats to him and congrats to ofunneka for making nigeria proud.

@ tampico,

i've resent the mail to both addresses. pls i hope you see it this time or else i will cry oh

@LC,

you sure are in a class of your own!! you took notes? cool cool thats so cool!!!
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:39pm On Nov 12, 2007
@ dalby,

i dont think you get the gist here!! the issue is not about judging richard, but its about choosing someone who we felt didnt reflect the core values of africa as the winner. and on this forum, we are trying to figure out why.i.e is it that public morals have degenerated so much so that watching a guy humiliate his wife and family in public is entertainment? or is it that a lot of africans identify with richard, or like someone said tanzania's neigbours simply voted one of their own?

the debate my dear, is whether choosing richard as the winner is a reflection of our degenerating moral values, or our idea of a sick joke!!

@ tampico,

please am still expecting your reply to my mail as regards the reunion.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 10:16pm On Nov 11, 2007
as the finale progressed, i watched with horror as i realised the viewers (i.e ofunneka fans) had made a tactical eviction error!!!!!

i remember when the housemates walked into the bba2 hse!! ofunneka the nigerian representative seemed so un-nigerian, i remember an acquintance boldly telling me he sent a text message condemning big bro for impersonating a nigerian as ofunneka was no nigerian!! but ofunneka showed how nigerian and sensible she was in her dairy room sessions. after her first diary room session, i put my money on her for the prize!!

then richard!! a married man in the house?is this bba2 or temptation island? he proved to be crude, brash and at the same time caring and loving to a certain housemate.

tatiana came in hoping to flirt with the boys and turn them to her puppies - that obviously was a wrong plan and it showed. so althuogh she was destined to go far in the competition, she was not a candidate for the money!!

the show is going as planned, and a voting pattern emerged. while ofunneka was going according to game plan,richard saw the voting pattern and changed his game plan, indeed he was street wise!!

he played his trump card at the penthouse, and the slacker that i was, i imagined the viewers would see through it just like i did - but i was wrong!!

he knew the only way out of his dilema(the richiana saga) was to show the world he was only human!! he practically told us to cast the first stone if we were without guilt!! how you may ask? he appealed to sympathy by playing the reality check card! i have sinned, i have broken my marriage vows, i am hopelessly in love, viewers and housemates forgive me cos i am only human!! and that was the moment richard won the cash - majority of the viewers in their heart of hearts sympathised with his predicament, they thought he should not be crucified for potraying his weakness on national tv, and that was what richard wanted - sympathy votes, and that was what he got.

as i sat watching the show, i realised that i never wanted richard out because i sympathised with his struggles and a lot of people felt the same!!and as much as i voted the african queen, the person who had stuck to her game plan, it finally dawned on me that the average african would always extend a hand to a person they perceive is weak!! ofunneka is perceived as a strong woman, the epitome of womanhood, richard on the other hand played a man struggling with his weaknesses and africa simply extended a hand!!!!

my two cents!!

@ tampico,

hope i'm not too late for the reunion. i'm really looking forward to it. i noticed you didnt say anything about the t-shirt. am thinking t-shirts can be printed with the user-name of the members that have indicated their interest behind, so when you arrive, you just pick up your t-shirt and wear over a pair of blue jeans(if this is too stressful, then please leave the idea under your bed)

any which way, e don tey when i chop rice and hen so even if we come shower hour style, no long thing
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:38pm On Nov 03, 2007
@ all,

apparently the ofu issue isn't going anywhere as i can see, so i may as well speak my mind. the reason i sympathise with ofunneka is because of her reputation which she has worked so hard to maintain. i know she would not forgive herself when she comes out and realizes the gravity of what went down that night!! but like they say s**t happens.

as much as we all cry rape and sexual assault, if i was richards lawyer, ofu would not win that case easily!! a lawyer can prove that richard was equally drunk, ofunneka seemed to be enjoying herself, and permit me to quote lawyerchap her character may be 'deeply flawed' , would her defence pass the reasonable mans test and blah blah blah. but am not richards lawyer and that is by the way.

i think ofunneka as an adult who has tried so hard to maintain her dignity on the show should have known when to call it quits. she is a graduate of chemistry, is 30 years old and i expect her to know better, as a matter of fact she should have been the one to act as paramedic. but then again, what has happened has happened and everybody has to move on.

@ topic,

have been away from tv and internet all week, so i only got to see the moles yesterday. ashanti was finer in the picture and the victor is not as muscled as i was expecting. so can someone pls tell me if they are achieving their purpose!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Citi Bank Pay Please by mamus2010(f): 9:26pm On Nov 02, 2007
@ matured 26,

pls get your facts right before posting, cos your information wether wrong or right could affect the course of the life of a person reading the post. zeniith bank does not pay 91k

@ all,

i've never really supported the asking for pay question, not because it is wrong, but because if you join an organisation just because the pay is better, what happens when some other organisation takes over as highest paying? zenith bank is nigerias most capitalised company while citi bank thrives on their international reputation. zenith bank is practically everywhere so that means you can have your job in any city you find yourself but i cant say the same for city bank. so my dear poster make up your mind based on other conditions and not the pay, but for the records, i suspect zenith pays more than citi at entry level.

the reunion idea is great, but am thinking some people dont want to loose their anonymity. but for me, its a good way to develop freindship.

@ ofuneka (whenever you come out and read this),

i'm starting to wonder what would have happened on the show if any man had shown interest in you!!! embarassed embarassedsomehow, i wish i could ask that boyfriend of yours why he left you (and you had better not make him glad he did!!!) and whether you like it or not, you are a naija babe oh, men when be wan marry you dey look tv oh!!!

@ kaysmith,

cant wait to go on a spending spree with my share of your salary. grin cheesy please pay the cash into my account at i chop you chop international bank grin grin grin. i dey wait oh grin cheesy grin cheesy grin

@ all,

at first i thought it was going to be just another eviction show with the guitar boy chatting with KB and probably playing his tunes right after Patricia!! but i was wrong. i sat glued to my seat like tomorrow would never appear!!

code's 'shorty' on the screen at amsterdam was the last person i expected to see!! and she is white and 20 weeks pregnant!!!! by the time she was done speaking, i knew why code had the guts to do as he pleased. he is dating a woman! and obviously they have a good understanding of life. even if she was acting for the cameras, i was proud of her for not running away like mrs richard!!

i was totally convinced code had to inkling as to the fact that he was becomming a daddy, cos if he did, he never mentioned it!! code went ahead and apologised right there after the shock of seeing her had eased off! and of course she forgave him, and from what i saw, she forgave him long before he even commited the crime!!so congrats to the about to be daddy and a smart wife. she carried herself like an african queen (at least to me sha)

i honestly expected ofuneka to support maureen cos richiana will definitely nominate her cos there is no one else to nominate!! she could have showed more sympathy for maureen no matter how she feels about her. i just hope the viewers overlook that.

now i know ofuneka's biggest threat is richard. the guy has been up for eviction almost eveyweek since jeff left! and each week he breathes a sigh of relief!!!! na wah oh

and the twist - 2 new housemates, i'm waiting for lawyercap's analysis, thank God those call to prayer (etisalat) people have given him a breathing space

Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Have Gotten Job In Zenith Bank by mamus2010(f): 10:25pm On Oct 19, 2007
@Lystings'

so you remember!! smiley yes i have been taken. i received the much awaited call today!!! i'll pick up my employment letter on mon.

the interview is no big deal. you just have to be confident and know why you want to work in a bank and what you can offer. know how the course you studied can be applied to banking, know the names of 3 directors (just in case) and he famous question "tell me about yourself" cannot be overemphasized.

you'll do well my dear, try not to be nervous, remember they are human, so dont be intimidated by their stares or whatever. and above all, pray hard. you'll be in in no time.
and for the records, i had my test on the 25th of sept, and by 19th oct (today), i was called for my letter. so yours may take less time. just pray, pray and pray.

@ spora,

LMAO grin grin grin cheesy cheesy grin grin grin cheesy grin grin cheesy cheesy grin grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin

@ tampico,

i think if code leaves on sunday maureen would stick with nominating richiana. her only trump card would be not to nominate ofuneka. and i bet you ofuneka would not nominate maureen, she is too viewer conscious to play her game that way.

so if code leaves, i think it will go like this

richard - maureen & ofuneka
tatiana - maureen & ofuneka (the pent house experience will not save ofu here)
maureen - richard & tatiana
ofuneka - richard & tatiana

which means like LC said, they'll all have 2 votes each.

if richard leaves, then

tatiana - maureen & code
maureen - tatiana & ofuneka (she will be the 1st to 'backstab')
code - ofuneka & tatiana
ofuneka - code & tatiana

that way maureen may just be safe!!! but then again who knows for these housemates? undecided undecided

@ LC,

like modups said, the name actually sounded like a call to prayer!! you know we nigerians would prefer a name that wont make us run to moshalashi at the sound grin grin

You won't believe how much Ofunneka is detested in SA, and it seems they are resigned to her winning though !
people seem to think she is betraying maureen! and i wonder if indeed they are watching the show!!!

@ salsera,ndi

you guys have said it all!!

@ tampico,

was starting to wonder where the refreshing tampico in the freezer had gone!!! wink thanks for posting those lines. richard has made a good attempt at giving shaekespear a run for his money.

@ lawyerchap,

are you in advertising? you never really sounded like wig and gown anyway cheesy still waiting for 'your post'. that one na appetizer
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:23pm On Oct 15, 2007
@ lawyerchap,

you sure got the nominations right.

@chapndi,

nice way to spend the looooong hols!! just the two of you, music, sushi, guzzle!!! that must have been so much fun wink

@ all,

the reason why i focused on todays nominations was because of maureen!!! she said she did not trust ofuneka and that she was sure she and her guiter boy (pardon me sir victor uwaifo) were going to be put up for possible eviction. so i sat glued to my chair, hoping that maureen was wrong about ofuneka!!

somehow, i felt the other housemates would nominate ofuneka simply because she is HOH and can save herself!! so maureen was wrong and so was I.

however, from the moment kwaku took the walk, i knew ofuneka would stay true to the girls, because she is starting to get close to tatiana, and she is loyal to maureen. this only meant one thing - the men have to slug it out!!!

and as for CODE, africa has been patient enough; its time to eat that fattest bone - - - africa has to chew on code and spit him out of the bb house!!

my 2 cents though
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:09pm On Oct 14, 2007
bertha actually looked beautiful tonight!!! the mama iyabo hair (receeding hairline) was replaced with a nice weave on!!she actually looked sweet! i wonder what meryl is thinking!! undecided wonder why she wasnt there!!!

ofuneka has watched too much big brother!!those tears!!! great acting ofunemama!!!
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:23pm On Oct 12, 2007
MAMUS about your that eviction post,all I can say is you have some talent somewhere in the world of writing(novels,films,songs, anything like that)
At d end i felt like i just finished some Sheldon novel.

@ tommyex,

thanx bro, my head is now raised to the power of two wink, its getting too big for my neck oh cheesy

@ all,

with regards ofuneka's story, i must agree with LC. i for one was shocked at her revelation!! first of all, moving in with a man? in nigeria its a no no. when he hasn't paid dowry? the end result most of the time is disrespect, and for her to take that kind of step means she must be extremely insecure. so i'd say she has a deep flaw!!!

but back to the issue, she is HOH, hurray!! i missed the task though!!! sad
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:26pm On Oct 10, 2007
@ salsera,

she cohabited with the guy for 6months, if he was married , then where did he put his wife?

i just never associated ofuneka with insecurity, but then again, we never know these things!!

@lawyerchap,

those shouting pornography remind me of the monica lewinsky case!! larry king that has been married 8 times, with God knows how many lewinsky's under his belt had the guts to open his mouth and ask questions!!! truth is richiana is part of africa i.e. there are many married men and single women in relationships and vice versa, it has become a problem because the dirty linen is being washed in public!!most of the people crying pornography are guilty of adultery or coverting their neigbours wife!!

so like jesus, i would say "he who is without guilt should cast the 1st stone"
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:52pm On Oct 09, 2007
@lawyerchap,

my head is so swollen, its about to burst!! grin cheesy

@ndi,

ofuneka's chances of winning is 5 out of 6. not because she is our home girl, but because she has stayed true to her game plan!! kwaku and tatiana are just jokers, they may smell the cash, but they wont have it

@tampico,

i think biggie suggested code take the guys along!! i know that was disappointing for him and maureen cos code still hopes to break the bed, and maureen is willing but afraid of being used(she told biggie she didnt want to be rushed, she wanted it to happen naturally)!!

well, i dont care about maureen these days, so am glad the penthouse experience is without her!!lets see if she wont fall asleep this night. the parasite that she is!!! angry angry
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Zenith Bank Invited Me For A Test by mamus2010(f): 10:24pm On Oct 08, 2007
@ lystings,

was called. since we didnt take the test thesame day,i guess you can find out from their hr how you fared, or hopefully someone on the forum may have some news for you.but dont give up yet cos i think they are calling in batches.

the time it takes to be called i imagine depends on the urgency. just stay positive my dear.

@mokpas,

after the panel interview and the chat with the hr rep, then you should see the gen manager who then recommends that your offer letter be handed to you. as long as you spoke well, and accepted to do marketing(even though you know you would not go near there with a 10ft pole), and you were looking like a zenith staff already i.e all dressed up, then dont worry, its only a matter of time before you are called. all the best
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by mamus2010(f): 9:56pm On Oct 08, 2007
@ LC,

welcome back. smiley

@  ndi,

where have you been? or were you the client that has been taking LC's time? wink cheesy good to have you back

@ all,

as the clock struck 7, i changed to chanel 107 and sat with a bottle of mirinda pineapple and a bottle of cashewnuts!!nothing, not even hunger was going to stop the moment!! ---and then KB (well his face has become lookable these days even though i dont always look too long or hard) goes through the usual motions and then i get to see nominations!! and all is going as imagined until ofuneka nominates code, she says she doesnt want him to leave though, but since he can save himself, then what the heck!!! and i'm thinking, why didnt i think of that? ofuneka has smartly nominated code, so just incase there are too many nominations for richard and he leaves before kwaku, he will see that she did not nominate him!!nice thinking.

tatiana nominates ofuneka, no surprises there really, but her reason - she is not a couple!!duhhh!!! at this point, i cant even taste the cashew nuts (tatiana did actually get me angry), but then again shes on the hot seat, and the uncoupled ofuneka is not!! grin

so richard, tatiana, kwaku --- i have to think of where to put my money. cos if the viewers see the wearing of the black t-shirt by the untouchables as blossoming and true friendship, then kwaku will be there to nominate next monday. as for richiana, their fights have lost the glamour of lovers squabble, its now --- god knows what!!! sad someone needs a ticket to canada!!

and as for maureen!!!hhmm, she said she thinks ofuneka may become arrogant as she thinks the housemates depend on her, she also claims not to understand her even though they are perceived as close!!! maureen has always been a suspect (to me anyway) and now i know i'm not wrong.

so nominations are over, and so is my drink!! the cashew nuts are still there, just like ofuneka wink

@LC, Tampico,
ok guys do your thing.
