Super Eagles fans celebrated in February, when the long-awaited announcement that Ademola Lookman's nationality change had finally been granted by FIFA. The on-loan Leicester City forward had represented England at junior international level, but would now be turning out in the green and white of Nigeria, and could be doing so as early as next month's World Cup qualifying games against Ghana. That change was not enough to see Lookman barge his way into this month's rankings with top performances across the board. The undoubted star of the show remained Moses Simon, who nearly held on to his top spot after another month of solid performances, including a mesmeric performance against Lionel Messi and Paris St Germain. 1. Sadiq Umar - Almeria, Spain Four games, five goals, two assists - it is hard to find a Nigerian player on a hotter streak than Umar. He struggled a bit at the Nations Cup. It was his first exposure to senior international ball, but it seems the experience from the tournament has unlocked new levels for the former Rangers striker. He won two penalties against UD Ibiza. The first was converted and the second saved as the game headed to a nervy end, but the Nigerian popped up deep in stoppage time to turn a defender inside out before unleashing a long-range effort to seal the win. He saved his best for that two-goal performance against CD Mirandes, where he showed his power, skill and efficiency. 2. Moses Simon, Nantes, France Watching Simon glide his way past Messi was not a sight many thought they would see soon, but it was a thing of genuine beauty to see the world's best player undone by the dainty footwork of the Nigerian. Simon continuously peppered the Paris Saint-Germain defence, constantly shimmying his way through a slew of defenders and ending up with an assist as Nantes whipped the all star PSG 3-1. Prior to that, the Nigerian curled in a simple but spectacular freekick that proved to be the winner against Stade Reims. That goal and assist were to be the only ones he managed in February, but Simon was arguably Nantes' most dangerous player during the period. They went for two wins and one loss in the three games he featured in. Clearly, the form he took to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is still very much in play. Nigerian fans will be hoping that he can keep it through the qualifiers against Ghana. 3. Anthony Nwakaeme - Trabzonspor, Turkey How Nwakaeme has only one appearance for the Super Eagles remains questionable. In February, the wide forward proved once more that he is one of Nigeria's better players in Europe. Nwakaeme tallied three goals and two assists as the runaway league leaders extended their unbeaten run to 11 games in the league and a 17-point lead over second-placed Konyaspor. Two of those goals came in a 4-0 victory over Alanyaspor and his month's effort took the Nwakaeme tally to nine goals and nine assists for the season. With Nigeria's recent struggles in those wide positions, the Tabzon man could be a viable option for Austin Eguavoen and his team. 4. Odion Ighalo - Al Hilal, Saudi Arabia Revenge is a dish best served with goals -- Ighalo proved that when he came up against his former club Al Shabab, scoring twice against them in a 5-0 win. According to Ighalo, to ESPN, the club had denied him a chance to go to AFCON with Nigeria, effectively causing bad blood and forcing him to demand a transfer. So when his old employers came calling for regular league football, the Nigeria striker punished them. But those were not his only strikes during the period. Ighalo also knocked one in a 6-1 win against Al Jazira in the FIFA Club World Cup and another in the Kings Cup victory over Al Nasser. - Odion Ighalo reflects on 'dream' spell at Man United 5. Wilfred Ndidi - Leicester City, England It almost seems to be a given for Ndidi to find his way into this top 10 list, as long as he is fit and playing. The Foxes midfielder does not score many goals -- not many defensive midfielders do -- so when he not only scores, but adds an assist, it is noteworthy. This, added to his peerless work as a holding midfielder, of course. Ndidi scored his second of the season -- both goals coming in European competition -- against Randers in the UEFA Conference League, finishing off some excellent work by Lookman. In the return leg, the midfielder was again on hand to set up Harvey Barnes for the opening goal. - Africans Abroad: Salah, Mane win first domestic cup with Liverpool 6. Paul Onuachu - Genk, Belgium He may not be getting the same sort of attention as last season, but Paul Onuachu has low-key scored 16 league goals this season, among the highest of Nigeria's strikers in Europe this term. Three of those goals came in six games this past month, in addition to three assists in what has been a most productive month for the beanpole forward after a disappointing AFCON. His assist against Kortrijk was arguably his best goal contribution of all, looping a fadeaway header between two defenders and across the goal into the path of Joseph Paintsil before hitting the post with another header. He was just as dominant in the 4-1 win over KV Mechelen, forcing a tackle from Thibault Peiyre, heading across goal for Theo Bongonda to tap in before stealing in at the near post to sweep home from close range. 7. Victor Osimhen - Napoli, Italy It has been a while since Osimhen has found himself in these rankings. A combination of injuries, illness and perhaps a bit of poor luck has hit Nigeria's leading striker. He returned with some consistency in February after missing nearly two months of action with a cheekbone fracture. Osimhen may not be back to his best yet, but he weighed in with two goals and one assist for Napoli as they made their way back to the top of the Serie A standings on the back of an eight-game unbeaten streak. Half of those were in February. None of those goals were as important as the late one he scored against Cagliari to rescue a desperately-needed point, which proved enough to keep their noses ahead of AC Milan on goal difference. 8. Zaidu Sanusi - FC Porto, Portugal Sanusi returned from AFCON and walked straight back into the FC Porto team like he never left. And for good reason. The left back has shown improved form this season, and he continued to do so in February as Porto kept their unbeaten run to the season, finishing the month with a six-point lead. He was particularly impressive in a 2-2 draw against Sporting Lisbon, making three tackles and hitting the woodwork. 9. Yira Sor - Slavia Prague, Czech Republic Not many Nigerians would have heard of this 21-year-old former Nigeria junior international. The forward has featured only 17 times this season in the league for Slavia Prague, where Peter Olayinka is the more well known of the Nigerians, and has yet to see a full 90 minutes. But Sor announced himself in their UEFA Europa Conference league fixture against Turkish giants Fenerbahce, providing an assist in a 3-2 away win in the first leg before putting a stamp on it with two goals in another 3-2 win over the Turkish side, this time at home. 10. Ishaq Rafiu - Rivers United, Nigeria Rafiu has 10 goals so far for Rivers United and is the leading scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 15 rounds of matches played. The United striker plundered three of those goals in February, scoring a brace in a 2-1 win over Dakkada FC before rounding up the month by adding another against Nassarwa United. https://africa.espn.com/football/nigeria-nga/story/4606894/nigeria-power-rankings-red-hot-sadiq-umar-upstages-moses-simon?device=featurephone mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala seun

After losses of less than £50m during the previous year, Arsenal posted post-tax losses of £107.3m, the biggest in the club's history. The Gunners say as much as £85m of their losses are attributable to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Arsenal played just two games in front of a crowd at their Emirates Stadium during the 2020-21 season. As a result, matchday revenue fell by £75m to £3.8m. Overall wage costs came in at £244m - a near £10m increase from 2020 - despite Arsenal's first-team players and head coach Mikel Arteta having agreed to a voluntary pay cut of 12.5% to help with the financial impact of the pandemic. As a result of 55 redundancies, the club incurred exceptional costs of £6.7m while the total profit on player sales earned the club £11.8m compared to £60.1m in 2020. Arsenal's latest financial results were released just hours after they announced a 4% rise in ticket prices for the 2022-23 season to deal with "rising costs". "We recognise that no-one welcomes price increases, and this decision has not been taken lightly," a club statement read. "Ultimately in the face of continued rising costs, we need to continue to drive growth in all our revenue streams - including matchday - as part of our aim to return our finances to a break-even position in the medium term." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/60562771 mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala seun |

Mr Putin will not stop with Ukraine, he has a bigger picture in his mind. British airlines and now Facebook who’s next? |
Russia has restricted access to Facebook amid the fallout of its attack on Ukraine. It is not clear what those restrictions – which did not appear to amount to a total ban or shutdown of the website in Russia – will actually involve. Roskomnadzor, the country’s communications regulator, appeared to have brought in the restrictions in response to changes made by Facebook’s parent company, Meta. Meta said that it would label the accounts of Russian- owned media outlets, in what it said was an attempt to limit the amount of disinformation on its platform. But Russian authorities said that the restrictions were “censorship” and accused Facebook of violating the human rights of its citizens. Meta has said that it is adding a “number of measures” that are aimed at keeping its platforms and users safe as the situation in Ukraine deteriorates. Nick Clegg, its Vice President for global affairs, said that it had set up a “Special Operations Center” that will look for problematic content, and that its teams would be watching for attempts to “abuse our platform”. But it appeared to be those restrictions on state- controlled media sites that had caused Russia’s regulators to hit back. Mr Clegg said Meta would be “taking extensive steps to fight the spread of misinformation, and labelling content from state-controlled media and content that fact checkers have rated false”. https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/russia-facebook-ukraine-war-internet-b2023445.html mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala seun https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/2/25/russia-limiting-access-to-facebook-over-fact-checking-row lalasticlala seun mynd44 |

Chelsea set an English record as they become the first team to win five home games in a row with five clean sheets in European cup history after their 2-0 win vs lille in the champions league last 16. It was the European holders fifth- straight home clean sheet in the competition Thomas Tuchel's side have denied Real Madrid, Zenit, Malmo, Juventus and Lille The European champions remain the only club from London to win the Champions League and now Chelsea made more history. The Blues are in the driving seat of their last-16 tie with Lille having won the first leg 2-0 on Tuesday night courtesy of goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic. And by keeping a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel's side became the first English team in either the Champions League or European Cup to win five home games in a row without conceding a goal. Chelsea have now kept five-straight clean sheets in the Champions League - an English record Thiago Silva was part of the Chelsea defence that kept Lille at bay in the last 16. Their run dates back to last season when they beat Real Madrid 2-0 in the semi-final second leg to advance 3-1 on aggregate. Bringing it forward to this season, Chelsea began their home form in Europe with a 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg. An easy 4-0 win over Malmo then followed before a jaw-dropping win against Juventus by the same margin. The victory over Lille makes it a fantastic five for the Blues who will look to hold on to their two-goal cushion when they travel to France for the return leg on March 16. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10542135/Chelsea-Thomas-Tuchel-set-defensive-English-RECORD-Champions-League.html mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j seun |

Question…how was it dated? |
Archaeologists from the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) have unearthed evidence of the earliest known buildings in the UAE and the broader region dating back more than 8,500 years — at least 500 years earlier than previously thought. The discovery on the island of Ghagha, west of Abu Dhabi city, revealed stone structures offering a further compelling history of the UAE. The DCT Abu Dhabi archaeologists have been conducting scientific analysis of the artefacts since the structures, and accompanying objects were unearthed. The most extraordinary discovery was revealed by carbon-14 analysis of charcoal fragments, which indicates the structures are at least 8,500 years old – breaking the previous record for the earliest known structures built in the UAE, which were discovered on Marawah Island. Artefacts discovered on the island of Ghagha. Photo: Supplied It was previously thought that long-distance maritime trade routes, which developed during the Neolithic period, were the catalyst for settlements in the area, but the latest discoveries prove that Neolithic settlements existed prior to the onset of trade, which means it was local economic and environmental conditions that led to the first settled life in what is now the United Arab Emirates. Rather than being arid and inhospitable, the islands were, in a sense, a ‘Fertile Coast’. This evidence recasts Abu Dhabi’s islands within the cultural history of the broader region. “The finds reinforce an appreciation of history, as well as the deep cultural connections between the people of the UAE and the sea. We are also reminded that there is still much to discover across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and that it is vitally important we continue working to discover, preserve and protect our invaluable heritage for current and future generations to learn more about our ancestral past.” Discovery on the island of Ghagha. Photo: Supplied Until the excavations of Ghagha, the earliest known structures in the United Arab Emirates were found on the island of Marawah, also off the coast of Abu Dhabi. Taken with the evidence from Marawah, the new evidence from Ghagha indicates that the islands of Abu Dhabi were a focal point for human innovation and settlement during the Neolithic period – a time of fundamental change throughout much of the world. The structures that have been uncovered are simple round rooms, the walls of which are made from stone and preserved to nearly one metre in height. The rooms were likely houses for a small community that may have lived on the island year-round. Hundreds of artefacts were found in the rooms, including finely worked stone arrowheads that would have been used for hunting. It is likely that the community would also have used the rich resources of the sea. How long the settlement existed is unknown, but after it was abandoned, it apparently remained an important part of the cultural landscape, as nearly 5,000 years ago, a person was buried in the ruins of the structures. It is one of the few burials from this period known on the Abu Dhabi islands. https://www.khaleejtimes.com/uae/abu-dhabi-8500-year-old-buildings-discovered-watch-video mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j seun

Your second Chance Prayer has been answered. Go and sin no more, hence make good use of the profit of your second chance, of course third chance is not always there. If you doubt me, ask OBJ and his third term agenda and where he landed him. I have warned you. To those who make this second chance a reality may you never lack and remember there are more out there who need your support also. |
Good gesture Super Captain |
Ahmed Musa , a striker for the Super Eagles, recently performed a generous act that captivated the hearts of people on social media. The forward player, gave money to commuters in a tricycle, also known as a keke napep, who saw him driving his black Range Rover down the same route as them. The viral video which is making the rounds on social media captured the moment Ahmed Musa wound down the glass of his range rover, stretching out his hand to give wads of cash to the gleeful passengers in a Keke napep who thanked him profusely. https://.com/2022/02/19/ahmed-musa-gives-money-to-passersby-while-driving-in-his-range-rover-video/ lalasticlala mynd44 oam4j seun

Anieke77:African men are always proud, intimidating and underrate poor friends when they (the rich friends) become rich. What an hopeless mentality! His rich friends "snub him". But God didn't. God sent Ahmed Musa, a non Igbo footballer to him. Where are the likes of Kanu, Okocha and the likes? |
The issue of ex internationals that fail to meet up expected life desire
should not be bordering this nation .....these are people that didn't
take this playing for Nigeria as a carrier or a permanent job.....they are
been payed there allowance, for matches, transportation feeding and
accommodation is taken care of......so if after there careers they
couldn't meet up with life expectance its there faith...there is little or
nothing any one can do about it......u don't expect his other
colleagues to take up his responsibility........ Others have their
individual problems too. Why is it that we don't talk about our
teachers who thought us in primary, secondary and at the university
levels .....why? How about our security agents who put there lives on
the line for us to be safe.....who is talking about the once who
sustained different degrees of injury and deformities such that they
are not able to provide for there families..... Here we are talking about
someone that owns a Toyota seana to himself, don't need to make
returns to any body and making 7k per trip. |
Never blame anyone in life for ur failure, and if pple dunt help u never means they are bad pple maybe they are helping other pple out there or their own family responsibility is much for them. As e hard you, na so e hard others too. Just that not everyone talks about their problems. We should be grateful to God for those who helped us and even for those who didn't help us. No body dey owe you shishi. God bless Musa for his kind gesture to you |
