MAYOWAAK: I received with nostalgia and disbelieve the news of grant of pardon to Mr. Diepriye Alamaseigha among some other Nigerians Including some that are dead by President Goodluck Jonathan. I wish to condemn said pardon to Alamaseigha and the tactics of Mr. President in using some living and dead notable Nigerians as a cover up and camouflage to grant someone that he once described as his "godfather" and "benefactor" an undeserved pardon.
Nigerians will recall that while others in the list were sentenced and jailed by Military Tribunal where rule of law was not observed for offences that were alleged to be a "set up", Alamaisiegha was convicted for clear case of corruption by a competent court of Law where he had the opportunity to defend himself through 6 Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
The action of Mr. President in granting pardon to his godfather, mentor and benefactor is not propelled by nationalism or good conscience but ethnic parochialism and jingoism, hence the absence of a name like Tafa Balogun, the former Police IG and a fellow corruption convict like the "Generalizimo of Ijaw Nation" from that list. This phantom pardon has further demonstrated that President Jonathan is only paying leap service to the issue of fighting corruption in Nigeria and should not be taken serious henceforth. In this era when it is very difficult to put on trial and convict anyone for corruption due to the cumbersomeness of our legal system, it is very unfortunate that our President who made fighting of corruption as part of his campaign manifestos has committed "official jail break" by this singular act of pardon to a man convicted of stealing Bayelsa State dry! It is a calculated step of clearing way for President's God father to go to the Senate in 2015.
Let it be known to the whole world that Council of State have no power to grant pardon but it is the exclusive power of the President to be done with (mere) consultation with the Council of State under Section 175(1-3) of the 1999 Constitution as amended in 2011 and that was exactly what happened this afternoon. This is definitely not from Council of State but a sole action of Mr. President with mere consultation with Council of State as the Council made up of Nigerians of high integrity would not have granted this kind of pardon ordinarily and simpliciter!
Let us all rise up to defend our country as we have no other place to go. Let us condemn this pardon of Alamaisiegha in totality. We must put an end to corruption now! For ur mind u think u dey make sense with this ur contradictory statement ,abeg park well make I see better pple. |

For christ sake , Gej is not the only one that took dis decision it was done by the council of state which Gej is just a member with just one vote and if it is the wish of the majority of the council members to pardon anyone Gej shldn't and can't be blame for it besides most of the people pardoned have been convicted and they've served their jail terms and in some of the cases the stipulated 10 years provided by the constitution after which they could vie for any political post has lapse, what more than to allow the wishes of the majority to stand in the spirit of democracy. |

hillsate: Guys, am not holding brief for the president. He has disappointed me severally in matters that he should have risen as the president. I am not his supporter. But that does not mean that when he does something that seems plausible he should not be commended.
For guys that are calling this irresponsible or irrational statement, I bet you that you do not know the drama, the intrigues that surround Boko haram and the Borno elders. For Jonathan to summon up courage and give it to the elders in black and white is something that should be commended. The elders have been making a lot of noise about the withdrawal of JTF from Borno yet cannot guarantee that bombs will not go off. They are more concerned with the people that die as a result of JTF action but never bothered about the people that die from the havoc of boko haram. They have never for once condemned the actions of Boko Haram but are quick to talk about JTF action. They are even asking for amnesty for boko haram in support of Sultan of Sokoto.
Here is GEJ again “The Boko Haram insurgency is reducing gradually in states like Bauchi, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe and Niger among others, but in Borno State the situation is increasing. It is unfortunate, and this is because you the elders refused to come out and condemn the activities of the sect who are your children. This is not a time to be playing to the gallery,” the President stated. . With this type of brain, my dear brother, I believed u will go places. |

m.k.o2005: It is good to give money to the less privileges but that is not tithe. The tithe is to take to the house of God so there will be plenty there as we have it today but only that some people say that the plenty in church is not for plenty people(not going round) but for few in the house of God.Only God knows this one.Or you can be like some other who say they dnt pay tithe at all becos it is only an old testament instruction. But sse below the words of Jesus to the Pharisees who only want to pay tithe and not listen to the less privileges or attend to their needs: [b]"What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.''LUKE 11:42. You see why i say you must do both to be in God's good book! It is good to tithe if you understand it and also good to give to the poor ! God bless us look @ ur quoted verses once again ,the Bible said giving to d poor is more IMPORTANT than tithing so set ur priority right. |

mabell: somebody asked for firstfruits in the new testament
Ro 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Ro 16:5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. 1Co 15:20 ¶ But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 1Co 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Re 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. {redeemed: Gr. bought} (KJV)
you can study for yourself pls kindly show me where money was mentioned as firstfruit in ur above quoted verses. |

mabell: Everybody is just against Pastors forgetting that they are not the originators of the first fruits The first fruits started in the bible days, even now and not even in the days of Jesus
Ex 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. Le 2:14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears. Le 23:17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. Pr 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
God gave specifications through his prophets, that's to show you the importance of the first fruit and he specifically stated that it should be given to the prophet, so, which one is your own about giving to the pastor or the pastor asking for it. If the pastor can talk about any other subject, how much more about the firstfruits. I'm not aware he forces anybody to give, it is a thing of choice in as much as God demands for it. Any bible believing church should preach firstfruits I give my firstfruits, it is not the first or second and neither will it be the last It is my money remember At this point i have read it in the bible with my two eyes so it is not whether pastor says so or not, i just give it abi the bible na lie! my brother Bible na true o , only that the verses u quoted above never mentioned money or salary and I assumed u are educated enough to know the meaning of the word " SHALL" . |

Remember, His word says that we shouldn't touch His annointed. Moreover, if pastors preach God's word for their personal gain, it is still Gods word. Not your own.
