klexycole: You can start with Turboprops like the Dash 8 Q-400, less expensive when leased. Most startups don't purchase because they simply can't afford it |

Boeing777pilot: I don't think the -300 series should cost that much because they're no longer in production. That's the cost of a brand new 737 with discount. |

klexycole: A commercial aircraft is an expensive equipment but more than likely the airplane is on lease because it's a startup airline. Most airline operators lease MOST of their fleet, purchasing can very expensive unless you have excellent credit financing. |

I seriously don't understand this Name Checkers thingy, like seriously... All not some, but all tribes commit crimes both home and abroad. It doesn't matter the crime because we're all tagged Nigerians, so the sooner yall wake up and quit this rubbish about name checkers, the better. 1 Like |

No need bringing GEJ back, Buhari is gradually adopting his "failed" policies starting with agriculture. Slowly but surely, Nigerian's are wiser now than they were 16 months ago. caprini1: Thank you!!!! Imagine the person I quoted telling me it takes time and determination to rebuild not magic, what nonsense. Nigeria is literally on reverse from where GEJ left the economy despite the corruption. Two weeks ago, Buhari went back to "corrupt" GEJ's agriculture agenda, something he scrapped. Since Buhari assumed power, it's just been clueless policies. 12 Likes |

Until the entire economy (Manufaturing, Aviation, Oil & Gas, Banking/Finance & Investments etc are in ruins, and it directly affects you, you would not cal spade a spade. Mr bright mind, please enlighten us on Buhari's economic agenda after a. Nigeria's main source of FOREX has dipped losing more than 45% of daily output and pricing/demand is down b. How does your Buhari tend to resuscitate businesses that have packed up according to your theory of "it takes time and determination to rebuild not magic". c. Please share Buhari's plan on how he intends to take us out of this looming recession. If you cannot answer these question, then I'll encourage you again, please be quiet. 8 Likes |

flokii: Really? The way most of you talk is really annoying. Businesses are folding up, the current exchange rate has plunged Nigeria into hardship and you make it seem like a part of the country is demonizing Buhari... If you really want to know the amount of suffering, if the same amount of money you used to buy the same goods last year is the same amount as of today, then you have a point. If it isn't, I'll suggest you be quiet. 12 Likes |

I'm surprised he knew what the "Igbo marriage law is, which according to him I married Stella traditionally and under Igbo marriage law, every child she has before my dowry is returned belongs to me. So when his bride price was returned to him, why didn't he request for his children then? One of two reasons: he wasn't interested in them and/or, they wouldn't give him the children. Goes back to what I said before... Anyway, it's a bit too late to cry foul. Let him go make peace with the rest of his kids and hope things work well. 3 Likes |

Nigerians only remember "culture" when it's convenient for them, but leaving up to the responsibility of that culture seems to be herculean task. Just like I said before and I quote: It's only someone who hasn't been through a fire would stand by the side advising another who's been hurt by the fire how he would gone through it without getting hurt. I don't want to delve into this but our people say, whoever fetches ant infested firewood should prepare to invite lizards to his home. Nothing further. |

Donald7610: Me disturbed? Disturbed about what exactly? Because people like you don't want to swallow the bitter pill called "truth". Indeed it is a general illustration when you said "The day you know the truth, you will forgive your father". Yet you never mentioned about my father or mother and you can't seem to tell me what I think the truth is. Cursed by who? Why in whatever name you serve do you believe that I am angry? Why in God's name are you saying all these? Are my parents God? I have appealed to you to leave my parents out of this but you continue to involve them, deceitfully, you keep saying "I'm sorry". I did not bring yours into this, don't bring mine into it. You think my comments about deadbeat fathers sums up my existence of having anger at my parents that you seem to think I should pray to God to forgive them... What insult. You don't know me, for the LAST TIME, desist from involving my parents in this conversation. Please don't say I did not beg you to please stop. If you have anything to say, say it to me. Well, if he chooses to apologize publicly which I don't see, that's entirely up to him. It would not change the status quo: how he feels for his father. Like I've said before, he would fetches ant infested firewood invites lizards into his home. FYI: a curse without cause shall not alight, and the Bible said IT WILL NOT STAND. |

Donald7610: The truth about what exactly? You're damn right about it, a smart woman protects her home which my mom has done diligently through it all. So bro, you don't know my family, don't say what you don't know. Go and read your bible very well, Noah cursed Canaan because he saw his father's unclothedness when he was drunk. He had a good relationship with his all his sons prior to this, he wasn't a deadbeat father. So I'm just imagining how this relates to the topic at hand? 1 Like |

steadyguy101: For this stupidity to continue shows how ignorance cannot be allowed to linger on. I repeat, a man who's not been in his children life is NOT worthy to be called a father let alone a dad. Quote me anywhere, IF the Bible forbids it, and our culture detest it, then why the hell are you bringing culture into it? You bring it in when it suits you right? Where was culture when the father went to the media? It's not the boy's responsibility to make plans to return the corpse home to his father's house since his father is ALIVE. That's an abomination, it signifies indirectly the boy wants his father dead. In our tradition, if the father had any rapport with is his kids, all these nonsense would not be in the media. In this case, since there was no rapport, the father and his kinsmen would make plans to return the corpse home, that's how it's done. Since the father couldn't fulfill a simple obligation, then let's forget all these nonsense argument. |

Ogini bu isi okwu gi because I don't understand you. When a son is involved, the father would give a piece of land to his son's and/or the son returns to the mother's side if he wish. freshvine: You're right that's what in-laws (ogo) do but not IF the man divorced his wife and has taken the dowry paid. If this is the case, the children would be given their own land away from their father's land or go to their mother's house. Biko, this is not omenenu, go and ask any elder what that means. However, before emissaries are sent, your immediate in-law to whom this is affected would have reached out to the family FIRST. In this case, the father shouldn't have waited for emissaries considering it may take up to a week or more, he should have left for his wife's place immediately hearing the news. Obugho so ofu onye nwe nwa (it's not only one person that owns a child). Like I explained before, he did not have to contact Stella or even the kids, all he needed to do was go with his kinsman (Umunna) or delegate someone to know if the news is true. That's what EVERY immediate in-law does. After confirming that it's true, then the wife's family would send emissaries to "formally" inform the husband's family (him, his family and kinsmen), who would confer with them on how to proceed with funeral rites. You can't wait for a whole week for your in-laws who're in grief to immediately dispatch emissaries to all their in-laws, it does not work like that. Go and ask any elder if what I say is true. 1 Like |

Xsmart22: I know you did not call him, I called him a sperm donor. I mean, biologically speaking, you need sperm to make babies. As a father, your name is on the birth certificate and that's it. However, my point is remains: there is a difference between "father and a dad". This young man's issue isn't really about his parents divorce or their issues 30 years ago; however, the beef with his father that has reached to the point of no return. Believe it or not, he's old and matured enough to speak for his immediate family, and as for indebtedness, nah, I don't think so. He's grieving his brother's demise and instead of the father using this as an opportunity to console his kids, knowing fully well that he's not been there, the best possible way was to tell the media that he wasn't informed. You expect him to smile upon hearing this right? 5 Likes |

nkechiasogwa: Curse of the causeless shall not come to pass, it is in the Bible. Yes the holy book talks about Children obey your parents, honor they father and mother so your days may be long, but what people fail to understand is that God later said "Father DO NOT provoke your children to anger, bring them up in the way of the Lord. The Bible also said, ANY MAN that cannot provide for his family (morally, spiritually, financially, etc) is more than an what? Go figure... So again, this is a curse without a cause, and the holy book said IT SHALL NOT STAND neither WILL IT COME TO PASS. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Dante2008: Africans? Are you serious? Okay I agree yes we're African and IF the man was truly African, regardless of whatever Stella did, for the sake of the kids (which he knew were his), he would NEVER have divorced her. In Igbo land, divorcing a woman and taking your bride price back carries a lot of negative significance. Imagine the slurs the kids have faced upon till this time, you have no idea what it means. If the man was African, when he heard about his son's death, it's your son for crying out loud. Media should NEVER have been involved. I repeat, media should NEVER have been involved. He should have contacted Stella's family, NOT Stella or the kids. From there, Stella's family would sent emissaries formally to their place. In Igboland, we have what's called "Omenana", so let's stop accusing Stella when the man in question hadn't performed well. It is correct that we have values which we must hold to high esteem, but holding these values is not a "one-way" street. It goes both ways. Finally, he's a father and not a dad. An estranged man who's not been in the life of the kids is not worthy to be called a dad by general standards. 6 Likes |

Xsmart22: There's a difference between "Father" and "Dad". As you rightly said, he's a sperm donor, a father and nothing else... But being a dad, requires commitment. An absentee father would NEVER be regarded as a dad. Plain and simple truth. The man did not act like an elder in the family, he knew the supposed thing to do before going public. Going public was his greatest undoing. When you point an accusing finger at someone, three other fingers are pointing right back at you. 7 Likes |
