If there is a heaven, and it is for christians only, when i die will i be given the chance to convert before i enter?

Also, What if the sign says "Muslims Only", will all non-muslims be given the chance to convert before they enter or be thrown into the lake of fire?

That we are 'MEN' and supposed to be simple beings is nothing but a cheap cop out of our responsibilities. We, as human beings, are supposed to master the reality that we experience as we evolve over time, meaning that we get more and more complex as we evolve both spiritually and intellectually. This just very natural progression that has to be.

And the only way to actualize that progression is to be very well informed about who and what we are, and the relationship we have with the reality we experience daily, hence the questions that have to be asked at all times and at all levels. Such actions on our part do not threaten God the creator in anyway, but they do threaten those men who have chosen to perpetrate deception on mankind under the guise of religions with their fraudulent doctrines and dogma. They are the ones who feel threatened by questioning minds and souls.

I was watching independance day the movie on tv yesterday and the ending of the movie helped me to understand the mindset of a suicide terrorist and how his actions seem like the most ratioanal and even heroic thing to do  in this 'war agaist islam'.

The pilot with the very last bomb to destroy the alien invaders spaceship finds that it jams just as the spaceship with its vastly superior weapons is about to fire its main weapon. He looks at a picture of his wife and children and radios command to ask them to tell them that he loves them, then flies his plane into the spacehips main weapon laser just as it s about to fire, killing himself and destroying the enemy.

He sacrifices himself to help destroy the alien invaders. The generals tell his son that what your father did is the most heroic act a soldier can do to defend his people.
The same as with the Japanese kamikazee pilots of the second world war. A muslim suicide bomber believes that he is performing the most heroic and brave act to defence his people against the enemy (kuffars, infidels, crusaders) who have invaded muslim lands.

Does this make any sense or have i got it totally wrong?

Debates are great for airing our views on a subject even if those views oppose each other and sometimes seem grossly offensive to those of a different faith.

However, at the end of the day we are all african brothers and sisters and can be courteous and respectful to each other as human beings.

I am sure that christians are offended by dissagreements just as much as muslims but he still found it within him to wish you fullfilment of your dream and aspirations for the next 12 months.

Is it so hard to be courteous in return? (even if its just for 1 day)

This is what i am talking about. The problem is that extemists will say that their actions are in self defence. If muslims are being attacked in afghanistan or the prophet is being insulted by the west, it is self defence to fight back in the west. If you die in the process then you will be rewarded as a martyr in paradise.

The problem is getting much worse in pakistan and afghanistan where the muslim extremists now consider moderate and secular muslims to be legitimate targets of their attacks.

How can a muslim become so brainwashed that he/she believes that Allah would be pleased if he murders fellow muslims, innocent children and kills himself in the process?

The report suggests that there are four basic types of muslims. You have your violent extremist, followed by the fundamentallists, followed by moderate muslims, then secular muslims.

The secular and moderate muslims say that the violent extremists are not true muslims, whereas the violent extremists and fundamentalists will say that moderate muslims are not true muslims. Yet they are all reading from the same book.  Huh

The wages of sin is death! Sin is the transgression of the law. The ten commandments where the law, written in stone by the almighty god Yahweh.

Break any one of those laws and your punishment is death. (Romans 6:23)

Can someone please tell me what is the moral value of commandment number 10. The almighty, omnipotent, omniscient god Yahweh's final commandment to all mankind, written in stone! The punishment for anyone caught breaking this commandment is of course death.

Is this really as ridiculous as it sounds or is there a deeper meaning to it?

What are the ten commandments?

The story of the ten commandments starts in chapter 19 where God arrives in a thunderstorm and Moses goes up the mountain for the first time. God tells Moses to keep the rest of the people away – Moses gets a monopoly on hearing what God has to say.

In Chapter 32 Moses finally brings the tablets of stone down the mountain, written on both sides.

Moses obviously takes great care of these God-given tablets of stone. Well – no, actually he doesn’t. When he sees what the Israelites have been up to while he was up on the mountain, he throws them down in irritation and breaks them. He then arranges a round of fratricide, in which three thousand men are killed, and for good measure God sends a plague upon the survivors.

A quiet interlude takes place in Chapter 33, where Moses makes friends with God again.

And then finally it happens: in Chapter 34 Moses cuts two new tablets of stone, goes up Mount Sinai, and God writes on them “the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.” And this time we are told what they are, and they are explicitly identified as the ten commandments.

Actually they are rather curious. They consist of eight of the rules from the middle of Chapter 23, rewritten in a different order, one rule from all the way back in Chapter 13, long before the Israelites got anywhere near Mount Sinai, and one completely new rule which hasn’t been mentioned before!

Nonetheless, Exodus Chapter 34 is the one and only place in the bible where the Ten Commandments are explicitly given.
The Real Ten Commandments

Here then are the Ten Commandments of the bible (according to the King James version).

These are the final ten commandments that were carried in the ark of the covenant.
Why are they so different from the first ten commandments that moses received?
And why is it that no one mentions these when they talk about the ten commandments?

Alien creatures that evolved on a different planet, light years away from earth were intelligent enough to make spaceships that could travel the immense distance across interstellar space so that they can mine the earths gold to take back to their own planet. They had sex with one of the many early human species of the time to create a hybrid species called homo sapiens as their mixed race/ inter-species children. They then forced their children to do the hard labour of mining the gold for them. Then they suddenly returned home and left not one piece of advanced equipment behind. Not even a bit of plastic or a piece of an advanced tool which was not invented yet. And that's how modern humans (homo sapiens) got here. Think rationally about it.

The story is far from plausible. Do not underestimate the craftsmanship, will and determination of the ancient civilisations at the time of the agricultural revolution. We know how the inca lines were made, we also know how the pyramids were made. It is not impossible to move blocks of that size using elephants, oxen, rollers, pulleys, ramps and simple hydraulics. Think about it, if you tie 200 oxen or elephants together, and use wooden rollers how many tons can you move? It just takes a bit of planning and project management using the resources at hand. No aliens required.

If you look up at the sky at night, what do you see? Thousands of stars and a few mysterious moving stars (planets). All over the world different cultures made up different myths to explain it all. Most of them thought that powerful gods lived up there and were looking down on us, so that gave them the strong incentive to appease them and make huge magnificent structures for them.

Christianity in a nutshell

God creates man and women with free will in a garden with a forbidden fruit tree right in the middle.
Then he allows the devil in the form of a snake into the garden to tempt them to eat the forbidden fruit.
Then he gets mad and punishes them and all their future descendants with suffering and death because of that 'original sin'.

Then he gets even madder and murders them all in a global flood except for one drunkard and his family.

When this still doesnt fix the problem, he decides to send his ghost to impregnate a virgin woman with himself so the he can be born and call himself his only son.
Once he is born he can get himself murdered by humans to pay his own death penalty that he originally condemned us to.

Then he says he did this because he loves us and if we dont believe this story we will be brutally and mercilessly tortured and burned for ever in a place he created called hell with a lake of fire with giant flesh eating worms and evil monsters.

No disrespect, but what i find hard to understand is how this makes sense and sounds rational to anyone over the age of 3?
It was thought up by some ignorant, genocidal, bronze age, self deluded desert tribesmen thousands of years ago.

You know that John 1:1 of the Holy Bible was written by a man who had no comprehension of the nature of this world or the billions of galaxies in the universe. He also obviously didn't know that languages evolved. What about before humans could talk, when humans were still very primitive homo erectus, homo habilis, Homo neanderthalensis, australopithecus etc.

Also, what use is a word if there is no air to carry the vibrations to create sound and there is nobody else around to hear it anyway. The writer obviously did not know how sound waves travel and that space is a vacuum.

If you believe a God did create the universe, which god was it out of the thousands of gods that people believe in and why? And what was she doing before she created the universe? Do you really believe that this vast universe with billions of planets, stars and galaxies was created just for us humans by a god? We have only in the last few years started to see that most of the universe is way beyond our reach. This has only been found by using the science of astronomy which has helped us to really begin to understand this universe.
There are many more questions to be answered, but lets not jump to premature conclusions first thought up by bronze age humans who understood nothing of the nature of this planet earth, let alone the vastness of the galaxy and universe that it is in. The evidence is clear that the universe has been in existence for billions of years before the earth was formed and life started. The heavy elements that created us were formed over billions of years in the nuclear fusion reactions inside stars which later exploded as supernovas.
Maybe there is a purpose which we just have not discovered yet or maybe there is no purpose at all. One thing we do know is that the earth and humans are not at the centre of the universe like most religions have always thought we were.

He also needs to appeal to the millions of christian fundamentalists like yourself in America. No one group of people should be considered superior to another. We are all equal and deserve the same rights whether christian, muslim, hindu, atheist, buddhist etc.

Murder in the Bible



   The act of murder is rampant in the Bible.  In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night.  In addition to these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God's irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of bald people, and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport.  There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children.



   The following passages are a very small percentage of the total passages approving of murder in the Bible.  They are divided here into three parts: 1) Capital Punishment Crimes, 2) God's Murders for silly Reasons, 3) Murdering Children, and 4) Miscellaneous Murders.  This list is long, but it barely scratches the surface of all the murders approved of in the Bible.



1) Capital Punishment Crimes:



Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests

   Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death.  Such evil must be purged from Israel.  (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

Death for Blasphemy

   And he smote of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah, he smote of the people seventy men, `and' fifty thousand men; and the people mourned, because Jehovah had smitten the people with a great slaughter.  And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us?   (1Samuel 6:19-20 ASV)



Killed by a Lion

   Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!"  But the man refused to strike the prophet.  Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me."  And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him.  (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT)



Killing the Good Samaritan

   The ark of God was placed on a new cart and taken away from the house of Abinadab on the hill.  Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab guided the cart, with Ahio walking before it, while David and all the Israelites made merry before the Lord with all their strength, with singing and with citharas, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.

God Will Kill Children

   The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be conceived.  Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from you.  It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone.  I have watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Tyre.  But now Israel will bring out her children to be slaughtered."  O LORD, what should I request for your people?  I will ask for wombs that don't give birth and bosoms that give no milk.  The LORD says, "All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there I began to hate them.  I will drive them from my land because of their evil actions.  I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels.  The people of Israel are stricken.  Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit.  And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children."  (Hosea 9:11-16 NLT)



Kill Men, Women, and Children

   "Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked.  Show no mercy; have no pity!  Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children.  But do not touch anyone with the mark.  Begin your task right here at the Temple."  So they began by killing the seventy leaders.  "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded.  "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill!  Go!"  So they went throughout the city and did as they were told."  (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)



God Kills all the First Born of Egypt

Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed.  Pharaoh and his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. Kill Old Men and Young Women

   "You are my battle-ax and sword," says the LORD.  "With you I will shatter nations and destroy many kingdoms.  With you I will shatter armies, destroying the horse and rider, the chariot and charioteer.  With you I will shatter men and women, old people and children, young men and maidens.  With you I will shatter shepherds and flocks, farmers and oxen, captains and rulers.  "As you watch, I will repay Babylon and the people of Babylonia for all the wrong they have done to my people in Jerusalem," says the LORD.  "Look, O mighty mountain, destroyer of the earth!  I am your enemy," says the LORD.  "I will raise my fist against you, to roll you down from the heights.  When I am finished, you will be nothing but a heap of rubble.  You will be desolate forever.  Even your stones will never again be used for building.  You will be completely wiped out," says the LORD.  (Jeremiah 51:20-26)

    (Note that after God promises the Israelites a victory against Babylon, the Israelites actually get their butts kicked by them in the next chapter.  So much for an all-knowing and all-powerful God.)



God Will Kill the Children of Sinners

   If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins.  I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted.  (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT)



More despoil and Baby Killing

   Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword.  Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes.  Their homes will be sacked and their wives despoiled by the attacking hordes.  For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off.  The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows.  They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children.  (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)

Peter Kills Two People

   There was also a man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property.  He brought part of the money to the apostles, but he claimed it was the full amount.  His wife had agreed to this deception.  Then Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart?  You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.  The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished.  And after selling it, the money was yours to give away.  How could you do a thing like this?  You weren't lying to us but to God."  As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died.  Everyone who heard about it was terrified.  Then some young men wrapped him in a sheet and took him out and buried him.  About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.  Peter asked her, "Was this the price you and your husband received for your land?"  "Yes," she replied, "that was the price."  And Peter said, "How could the two of you even think of doing a thing like this – conspiring together to test the Spirit of the Lord?  Just outside that door are the young men who buried your husband, and they will carry you out, too."  Instantly, she fell to the floor and died.  When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.  Great fear gripped the entire church and all others who heard what had happened.   (Acts 5:1-11 NLT)



Mass Murder

   This is what the Lord of  hosts has to say: 'I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt.  Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban.  Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.'   (1 Samuel 15:2-3 NAB)

The Danites Kill the Next Town

God Promises More Killing

   I will make Mount Seir utterly desolate, killing off all who try to escape and any who return.  I will fill your mountains with the dead. Your hills, your valleys, and your streams will be filled with people slaughtered by the sword.  I will make you desolate forever. Your cities will never be rebuilt. Destruction of Ai

   Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid or discouraged.  Take the entire army and attack Ai, for I have given to you the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.  You will destroy them as you destroyed Jericho and its king. But this time you may keep the captured goods and the cattle for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city."  So Joshua and the army of Israel set out to attack Ai.  Joshua chose thirty thousand fighting men and sent them out at night with these orders: "Hide in ambush close behind the city and be ready for action.  When our main army attacks, the men of Ai will come out to fight as they did before, and we will run away from them.  We will let them chase us until they have all left the city. For they will say, 'The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.'  Then you will jump up from your ambush and take possession of the city, for the LORD your God will give it to you.  Set the city on fire, as the LORD has commanded.  You have your orders."  So they left that night and lay in ambush between Bethel and the west side of Ai.  But Joshua remained among the people in the camp that night.

   Early the next morning Joshua roused his men and started toward Ai, accompanied by the leaders of Israel.  They camped on the north side of Ai, with a valley between them and the city.  That night Joshua sent five thousand men to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.  So they stationed the main army north of the city and the ambush west of the city.  Joshua himself spent that night in the valley.  When the king of Ai saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley.  But he didn't realize there was an ambush behind the city.  Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten,  and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them.  In this way, they were lured away from the city.  There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open.

   Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Point your spear toward Ai, for I will give you the city."  Joshua did as he was commanded.  As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city.  They quickly captured it and set it on fire.  When the men of Ai looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers.  When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of Ai.  Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of Ai were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped.  Only the king of Ai was taken alive and brought to Joshua.

   When the Israelite army finished killing all the men outside the city, they went back and finished off everyone inside.  So the entire population of Ai was wiped out that day – twelve thousand in all.  For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed.  Only the cattle and the treasures of the city were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these for themselves, as the LORD had commanded Joshua.  So Ai became a permanent mound of ruins, desolate to this very day.  Joshua hung the king of Ai on a tree and left him there until evening. At sunset the Israelites took down the body and threw it in front of the city gate.  They piled a great heap of stones over him that can still be seen today.  (Joshua 8:1-29 NLT)



Killing at Jericho

   When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the city from every side and captured it.  They completely destroyed everything in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, donkeys – everything.  (Joshua 6:20-21 NLT)



God Kills an Extended Family

   "You have done more evil than all who lived before you.  You have made other gods and have made me furious with your gold calves.  And since you have turned your back on me, I will bring disaster on your dynasty and kill all your sons, slave or free alike.  I will burn up your royal dynasty as one burns up trash until it is all gone.  I, the LORD, vow that the members of your family who die in the city will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the field will be eaten by vultures.'"  Then Ahijah said to Jeroboam's wife, "Go on home, and when you enter the city, the child will die.  All Israel will mourn for him and bury him.  He is the only member of your family who will have a proper burial, for this child is the only good thing that the LORD, the God of Israel, sees in the entire family of Jeroboam.  And the LORD will raise up a king over Israel who will destroy the family of Jeroboam.  This will happen today, even now!  Then the LORD will shake Israel like a reed whipped about in a stream.  He will uproot the people of Israel from this good land that he gave their ancestors and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, for they have angered the LORD by worshiping Asherah poles.  He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made all of Israel sin along with him."  (1 Kings 14:9-16 NLT)



Mass Murder

   The men of Israel withdrew through the territory of the Benjaminites, putting to the sword the inhabitants of the city, the livestock, and all they chanced upon.  Moreover they destroyed by fire all the cities they came upon.  (Judges 20:48 NAB)



The Angel of Death

   That night the angel of the Lord went forth and struck down one hundred and eighty five thousand men in the Assyrian camp.  Early the next morning, there they were, all the corpuses of the dead.  (2 Kings 19:35 NAB)



Kill Your Neighbors

   (Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, "All of you who are on the LORD's side, come over here and join me." And all the Levites came.  He told them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors."  The Levites obeyed Moses, and about three thousand people died that day.  Then Moses told the Levites, "Today you have been ordained for the service of the LORD, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Because of this, he will now give you a great blessing."  (Exodus 32:26-29 NLT)



Kill the Family of Sinners

   And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession to him; and tell me now what thou hast done, hide it not from me.  And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done.  When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them, and behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it."  [Note that the sin is not looting, but failing to give the loot to the treasury of the Lord.]  "So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.  And they took them from the midst of the tent, and brought them to Joshua, and to all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.  And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them to the valley of Achor.  And Joshua said, why hast thou troubled us?  the LORD shall trouble thee this day.  And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.  And they raised over him a great heap of stones to this day.  So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger: wherefore the name of that place was called the valley of Achor to this day.  (Joshua 7:19-26 Webster's Bible)



Kill Followers of Other Religions

   While the Israelites were camped at Acacia, some of the men defiled themselves by sleeping with the local Moabite women.  These women invited them to attend sacrifices to their gods, and soon the Israelites were feasting with them and worshiping the gods of Moab.  Before long Israel was joining in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the LORD's anger to blaze against his people.  The LORD issued the following command to Moses: "Seize all the ringleaders and execute them before the LORD in broad daylight, so his fierce anger will turn away from the people of Israel."  So Moses ordered Israel's judges to execute everyone who had joined in worshiping Baal of Peor.  Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into the camp, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as they were weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.  When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly.  Then he took a spear and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man's body and into the woman's stomach.  So the plague against the Israelites was stopped, but not before 24,000 people had died.  (Numbers 25:1-9 NLT)



Murder

   At the customary time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command.  O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself."  Immediately the fire of the LORD flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust.  It even licked up all the water in the ditch!  And when the people saw it, they fell on their faces and cried out, "The LORD is God!  The LORD is God!"  Then Elijah commanded, "Seize all the prophets of Baal.  Don't let a single one escape!"  So the people seized them all, and Elijah took them down to the Kishon Valley and killed them there.  (1 Kings 18:36-40 NLT)



Kill All of Babylon

   "Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge!  Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD.  "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction".   (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)



Micah Kills a Whole Town

   Then, with Micah's idols and his priest, the men of Dan came to the town of Laish, whose people were peaceful and secure.  They attacked and killed all the people and burned the town to the ground.  There was no one to rescue the residents of the town, for they lived a great distance from Sidon and had no allies nearby.  This happened in the valley near Beth-rehob.Then the people of the tribe of Dan rebuilt the town and lived there.  They renamed the town Dan after their ancestor, Israel's son, but it had originally been called Laish.  (Judges 18:27-29 NLT)  (Note that God approves of this slaughter in verse 6.)



I think you will agree that the God Yahweh and his followers win hands down on who has inflicted the most genocidal and barbaric murders on people throughout history! The new testament god of Jesus christ is the same God of the old testament and his followers brought about the brutal and barbaric inquistions and crusades, killing millions around the world including our own ancestors here in africa.

More so, Science cannot define meaning in life, nor was it meant to. And it is meaning (purpose) that must be found for a man to be satisfied and have a direction in his life. Mankind must find something outside of his own limited knowledge and interpretations on which to base his life if he wants any security at all. That purpose comes from the Bible.

Many people desire a meaning and purpose to their brief life on this planet and find it in many different belief systems and religions around the world, not just from the bible. To say that purpose comes from the bible is a very narrow viewpoint. Imagine if you were born in india to a hindu family who's hindu beliefs give them a purpose in life, Or a buddhist family, or muslim, or tao, etc. etc,

The quest for knowledge and understanding our true origins by objectively examining the evidence around us and gradually building on our knowledge and understanding of the universe and our place in it gives many people a purpose in life, even though you need to accept that you dont have all the answers yet. It was'nt that long ago that we discovered that the sun is a star and less than 100 years ago that this milky way is just one of billions of other galaxies which we cannot see with just the human eye, but only by using more and more advanced telescopes. With the discovery of photons and the speed of light, we are looking at these distant stars and galaxies as they were millions and billions of years ago. How can they have been created just 6000 years ago as claimed by the authors of genesis?

Like i said earlier, it is clear that there is much, much more to our existence than the barbaric and narrow minded bronze age writers of the bible could possibly imagine or comprehend. This is why it contain stories of talking snakes, talking donkeys, human and animal sacrifices, and a genocidal and irrational jealous god.

Many other cultures have their own creations stories which are completely different from the genesis story of the bible.

Science does not have all the answers yet, but tries to find out the truth of our existence by exploring and analysing the evidence from our biology. DNA, geography, astronomy, paleontology, anthropology, geology etc. etc.

I was hoping that you would find out for yourself. There are hundreds of different religions around the world who claim that their god is the supreme god. People have been worshipping the hindu god Vishnu thousands of years before the christian god Yahweh was invented, and long before the bible claims of when the earth and universe was created. To them, they are 100% certain that he is the Supreme Deity. Just like you believe if something is written in the bible it must be true, they believe if it is written in the Bhagavad Gita it must be true.

Obama is someone that you should be proud of. There are hundreds if not thousands of conspiracy theories out there on the internet about many people. Dont allow yourself to be deluded. Rise above it and be proud of what black people are finally starting to achieve again.

IT seems to me like you need to educate yourself about the beliefs of other people in this world. There is a wealth of information available to you on the internet which can explain to you how many different religions that consider their God to be the supreme being and that the god that you believe in is not. Check it out! Just search supreme deity on google or wikipedia and learn about the history of your religion and other religions. Many predate the formation of your religion by thousands of years.

Are you trying to say Yahweh is the real supreme being becauase its is written in the bible and that the bible must be true because the bible says so?

The summary of mantraa is that he don't know how life began on this planet earth. Other atheists may know, so they should help mamtraa. The ONLY WAY you FOLKS can disprove a claim or statement as false is BY PROVIDING AN ALTERNATIVE TRUE CLAIM OR ANSWER. The only way you can disprove that GOD is the origin of life is by providing an alternative correct explanation of life began.
   "You still hope to find an answer one day!." When ?, maybe after your death abi or you no go die.? To live and die without knowing the origin of life is a great tragedy.

Let me look at this from your point of view to see if i can help you understand mine. I assume that you believe the biblical story in genesis to explain how life got started on this planet. Do you even know that there are other completely different creation stories written in other 'holy books' which attribute the creation of life on this planet to other so called gods? These accounts were written at a time when humans were living in the bronze age and knew very little compared to what we know today. That is why the story you believe to be true contains ridiculous things like a talking snake, and light being split into day and night before the sun was created, and the stars being created in a day when we know that the light from them takes millions of years to reach us respective of their individual distances from the earth. These things were not known at the time the stories were created.  Do you believe that the light was created in transit and that the earth is older than the stars and galaxies? Do you really believe that a snake can talk?

Which god are you talking about? There are hundreds of different gods with their own creation stories.
For example if i said to you "The only way you can disprove that Zeus is the origin of life is by providing an alternative correct explanation of life began." you would say "Yahweh did it"
A hindu would say "Brahma did it" and truly believe that he has just provided you with an 'AN ALTERNATIVE TRUE CLAIM OR ANSWER'

Do you understand that your claim of absolute certainty that you are right is no more valid than theirs?
Open your mind and look at the bigger picture. Use your intelligence and think rationally.

Nobody knows all the answers yet to the origin of life, including you.
