Abeg go and sit down..... Read and understand what your constitution entails about issues relating to academic qualifications and how it relates to our politicians. However... Academic qualification is never a recipe for good governance or best represntation of a people. A case study, goodluck jonathan was a ph.d holder as at the time of his shameful regime, yet he was so clueless and daft that he could not understand the simple meaning of power! He couldn't even differentiate btw left and right......he couldn't understand that mathematically 19 is greater than 17, he failed his people... Leaving no single lagacy in the Niger delta... I will never forgive him for that. so what use is his academic qualification with regards to governance?? You don't need so many academic qualifications in governance, you need intelligency, wisdom, common sense and leadership qualities, which goodluck never had. You can insult me all you want (I no care, I no send u) truth must be told.
Thank you jare! Sister with brains........

Idiots will want to re-write GEJ's academic qualification (He is not an authentic PHD holder) or his ignoble regime

I know we like to spice thing up, but let's be civil with spicing. There is nowhere where 1st class is the benchmark for Oil and Gas jobs. I also make bold to tell you that there are advertised Oil and Gas jobs targeted at OND olders. Besides there are also Oil and Gas jobs "reserved" for host community youth, many of whom have only School Cert.

Your GEJ with his questionable PHD (that his PHD thesis is so lost that google almost crashed looking for it) put policies on the front burner, yet left virtually everything in taters, as himself, his husband (PEJ) and his cronies looted the country to shreds. He was so "erudite" with his scholarship that he could put a dividing line between stealing and corruption. He managed the economy, yet when he left, he had plundered over 50% of the reserves. Just made a quick read through of the tax law and I see you are right! But a full implementation this very time is not fair on the workers. A good number of civil servants have banks loans, cooperative savings/loans and so on and are calculative with what they have left. You don't make them get this type of news when they get alert or see their payslip.
1. FIRS is on a mission to recover all "recoverables" as that will be the yardstick of their performance. So it is understable why now or anytime.
2. Unfortunately many managers do not manage people's expectations well. In a unionised private sector, you can hardly get away with this. As soon as they got the clarification from FIRS, the right thing to do is to call a staff meeting and explain the situation and implication to the staff. If this was not done, then the fvcked up

Tomopolo and co are Militant leaders not the same are Clark , Diete Spiff, etc. there is a big difference.
Ogoni clean up was never a myth, its not about flagging smth off, HYPREP was established under GEJ.
please show me where EK clarks and the rest have said they support what the NDA are doing?

the state doesn't share revenues it collects to the LGA, LGA's get their money separately, I never said distribute LGA based on Oil Production, Bayelsa State is bigger than Lagos in terms of Land area or Land mass but Lagos has 20LGA, or in terms of Population Lagos has an estimated Population of 13million people and Kano has 5 millon but Kano has 44 LGA, so on what basis do we have the LGA distribution?
If we will agree on some points, my tots are these

1. Let the FG and ND leaders (Clark, Spiff) come to a logical conclusion with the current efforts
2. Let all the Militant seize fire and let the reconcillation effort true
3. Let these negotiation come up with a jointly agreed Niger Delta development roadmap. This should be jointly signed and agreed a 5-10yr plan of rapid development in the Niger Delta. Subsequenlty, ND leaders of repute should be put in charge
4. Cash should not be a means of settlement. That is what I believe is fueling militancy. Oil coys used it to distabilised communities, using isolate and destroy mode. That is why we have Tompolo, Ayiri and co as overnight billionaires. The signal it sends is that militancy pays

Finally,

I support APC. Yet I want Niger Delta to be truely developed

I understand the point you are putting through....and I understand the NCC planned this with us I'm mind. But conditions right now are not the best. They should be able to come up with other incentives for entrants that making the consumers best all the brunt. Or a partial baseline upward review followed with some reliefs for indigenous entrants.
1. NCC has good intentions but did not feel the pulse of the people as such this backlash.
2. Secondly, an option is for government to come in with subsidy in terms of infrastructure investments for the operators, so as to help in cost competition. Government may for example adopt some measures India took as far back as 15/16yrs ago, when they opted to give some citizens (e.g. women of a particular age bracket) subsidised/free internet access, create free wifi spots (Libraries, select stores, bus/trains stops etc)

BUT new entrants must be "helped" to come in and play in that market

I am not exonerating the ND leaders from what the people are facing and btw Tompolo , Ayiri , Boyloaf are militant leaders not Niger Delta leaders, just for the record. Bayelsa State gets 13% oil derivation, but only has 8 LGAs, Kano on the other hand doesn't get 13% but has 44 LGAs if you do the maths, you'll see that what Bayelsa State produces and what she gets back as in net income isn't enough.

I'm happy you said you've been to the Niger Delta, and i'm sure you understand the terrain, the amount of money you'll use to build a 3 bedroom flat in Bayelsa State will get u 3 of those houses else where especially in the North, considering the amount of "filling" and reinforcement necessary in Yenagoa and Bayelsa State these peculiarities led to the establishments of the Niger Delta Development Basin Development Authority and several others.

The Ogoni clean up is smth that has been in the pipeline even before this government came on board with HYPREP...

From your above statement you are an APC supporter and everything you say or do is to vilify the opposition.
1. When has Oil determined the number of LG state has?
2. As at 2013 (I purposely chose this, because this was the days of oil boom) these were the revenue allocations of the Top 6 states

1. Akwa Ibom (N260 billion or $1.7 billion)
2. Rivers (N230 billion or $1.5 billion)
3. Delta (N209 billion or $1.3 billion)
4. Bayelsa (N173 billion or $1.1 billion)
5. Lagos (N168 billion or $1.1 billion)
6. Kano (N140 billion or $0.9 billion)
Read more: https://www.naij.com/67424.html
so If we went by your LG logic again, it simply tells you Bayelsa shared $1.1b amongs 8LGs, while Kano is let to share $0.9b among 44. So are you still holding on to your LG arguement? grin

3. If Ogoni cleanup was a myth? according to you, that simply supports my view. None of the previous government ever came out to say they were going to embark on it. GEJ ignored it, so ........... better still let me ask, is it that you don't want Ogoni clean-up?

4. If your leaders are not militants, why then do you justify their acts? So who are the militants and what are they to you? Why had GEJ made billionaires out of them instead of pursuing a rapid development of ND so as to guarantee equal distribution of wealth

You are getting some facts wrong. As a medical doctor my call duty allowance is not taxable by law, but the government has been been doing it. There was a 43k reduction in my salary this month, add to the the previous deductions prior to November, my tax per month runs into close to or above 100k .
So by touching my call duty they are not implementing the law properly.
Can the NMA seek arbitration for this? But taxes are complex and you need experts to interprete it. The simple rule of thumb is that anything above N16,000 should be taxed. When LSIRS swooped in on us some years ago, virtually everything was brought under the tax bracket

How on earth can a responsible service provider threaten his paying customer with poor services? So, if they provide poor data services, we port to another network. Who is the loser then? If all networks shut down their data, other players will see the void and enter the market. In this era of extremely cheap metred data and free wifi in developed countries, they are threatening us here with poor network and exorbitant prices.

These people think they are doing us a favour by providing us with paid data. They do not understand that this is how they eat. Please somebody should tell them.
1. These are not service providers per say. These are stakeholders in the business
2. The concern is that the number of players in the industry will shrink as new entrants are frozen out. What will happen is that all of us will be restricted to probably 3-4 players. At that rate you have limited options even when they combine to rape us
3. I think in the long run, the government will need to come in and stimulate this industry. The government may need to bring like 6 investors of Nigerian origin an partner with them to float about 3 major Telcoms coy, run it for about 5-7yrs then the govt can exit their investment at a loss. That is an option to help, else someone still has to pay the price
Phones › Re: Aborted Tariff Hike: Expect Poor Data Services, Telecom Operators Tell Consumers by mapet: 9:20am On Dec 02, 2016

Competition made the price drop down....they should leave the competition to play out. I don't think as it is now, any new entrant will want to enter. Instead of milking us dry, new entrants should be attracted with tax relieves.

The upward review is understandable as it will help discourage monopolistic tendencies later on. At the same time, I think the competition is here to stay.
It is more complicated than that. What new entrant wants to enter Cement business today that Dangote, Ibeto & WAPCO won't stiffle out? Tax incentives cannot even help because these big players can crash prices below cost price and recoup the difference in cross-selling products. New entrants will simply fizzle out

I appreciate the pulse of the end consumers like you and I. I also think we need to spare some thoughts to let the Telecoms industry develop on the long run and be sustainable. For example, CDMA (Multilinks, Starcoms etc) is virtually dead because the big GSM player and Cable coys overrun them. The new entrants that will continue to make the cut will be the global organisations like Visaphone, Virgin Mobile and co. Now this will be value erosion to Nigeria as all the monies will be "exported" to their country of origin, like MTN still does.

We need to spare some tots to allow & encourage coys of Nigerian origin to play in this market. That is how we can grow sustainably

--------The FG initiated and is about to commence the Ogoni cleanup, something no government had ever touched
--------The FG has twice extended the Amnesty programme, part of the extra-budgetary expenses presented to the national assembly for approval has funding of the Amnesty programme as one of the line items
--------The NDDC under Semenitary was actively funded and has taken some of the moribund ND abondoned projects
--------The FG has initiated and had dialogue with ND leaders. Clark led a robust delegation of ND leaders to Abuja and they had fruitful discussion with PMB, where they presented their 16point Agenda.
-------- The ND states collect more from the crude proceeds than others. The monthly inflow to Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa is more than the monthly inflow to some African countries;
---------- NDDC and ND Ministry had received immense funding voted into it..........this is not considering the monumental waste and fraud that happened in NDDC between 2009-2015, with virtually nothing to show for it

short of me asking what have they done with it, I'd rather ask what more should be done?

I said earlier that it is a nice thing only if it's relevant. I will tell you what are relevant.

1. Training farmers on environmental parameters such as soil pH, temperature, proper irrigation, pest management etc. to optimize their production

2. Provision of Mechanized farm equipment such as combine and harvester at subsidized rate

3. Financial support in form of low interest rate loans

4. Training and support for proper storage of harvested crops

5. Public awareness to buy made in Nigeria rice

I don't know what the app is about, but one thing I know is that you need data to use an app, and my guess is there will be no or limited data availability in most of the farms
1. All What you listed is currently being done and much more. I will advise you follow Federal Ministry of Agric on twitter
2. What indices did you reference to assert that there will be limited or no availability of Data to farmers, especially the farmers in this context? Logically, this option would not have been taken starting from Dr. Adesina under GEJ and till now, if there would have been limited data access
3. The need and the use of the App is more comprehensive than you imagine. The App is just an interface with a set of stakeholders. What is much more important is the fact that they are collecting and using data to revolutionize the Agribusiness value chain. The App is supposed to help collect data for predictive planning purposes and for effective collaboration among farmers, extention workers, suppliers, mid-level customers, Silo/Storage owner etc
