She is talking about e- in all government transaction
And what do I mean by e-
e- is simply using technology to render service to Nigeria, whether is FGN to State Government, FGN to Business, FGN to Citizens etc.
And how does this help to fight corruption.
Briefly, in the area of getting a new passport or renewal of passport, since the National Identity Card has someones information, if the person is going to either get a new passport or renew the passport, the issue of supplying all those required document before the passport office will not attend to person, except those document are produced will be eradicated since by typing your name into passport office PC, everything about you will appear.
The same will happen in any office you visit in future.
Thereby saving you money for tip off to those officers
Saving you time
Making doing business in Nigeria stress-free
And many more benefits
Using tech in areas of governance, like e-procurement, e-passport, e-banking, e-port clearance, e-driver license, e-vehicle paper renewal and others, the face to face meeting where money exchange hands will be reduce a great level, thereby saving us Billions yearly
Tech alone can catapult us from this zero level to 1st world country in less than 5 years if will are ready to do the real work
Though is capital intensive to start
I rest my case
What you've stated speaks more to process efficiency and not curbing corruption

on credibility scale, as a Finance minister that suprintended over the monumental heist in Nigeria's history, she is not in a position to offer advise on curbing corruption. Hmmmm...... maybe she ran away, or maybe she did not. But the eyewitness said she was unconscious, I think the best way to know if she ran away or was really rushed to the hospital is to go to the said hospital and check their records.

From there we can begin to sense the truth.
The police would have established that before the case went to court. If she had gone ahead to make a report at the police station knowing fully well that the other party involved died in the incident, that would have made it more credible than for VIO to trace the owner to her through the VIN.......

Even if she goes to jail, it won't bring the late doctor back to life. It's been a long time, and they should just take things easy.

Do you know how it feels, when one is saying the truth and no one is listening?
One must listen to all parts before concluding, cos it can happen to anyone.
Accident does not give notice before coming.
Mind the things you say.
what truth here?
That the car Ibinabo was driving didn't cross over to the other section to hit the Doctor's car? or that the dead Doctor was still at the scene when an alive Ibinabo was nowhere to be found? You mean in accident situation, the person less impacted will be the first to leave the scene? If Ibinabo was in coma as claimed, it was so convenient to huddle a comatose person into a taxi and ferry to the hospital, yet a confirmed dead person was still at the site?

what about what traffic law says? Even if it was a burst tyre that made her car flip to the other side, should she have left like she did?

This Messur De Gaulle account is hard to believe. You mean they did not deem it fit to use his eye witness account to help her even after meeting Ibinabor four years ago in Portharcourt?

If this account is true, then Ibinabor and her team have been careless in handling the case.

Only God is all-knowing!
This eye witness account is watery and will not stand. First off " but we heard a loud crash and then I think the doctors car somersaulted while the other car driven by Ibinabo was flung a few metres to the other side.".......this statement strikes him out of being a primary witness. Heard a loud crash is different from being at the spot to give an eye witness account. Secondly is his statement consistent with what the Police and VIO's report says? He can't even be a witness anymore beyond the "sentimental witness" Novia is trying to make him. The case is now in Supreme Court and you can amend your defense or call new witnesses aside from those you had called in the lower courts.

I also wonder why Novia and his team are trying so hard to "force reconciliation". The family is hurting and this frontal approach to "expand" the truth will be counter productive. Has Novia sought to explain, if Ibinabo debunks the Dr's sister's allegation that she asked Ibinabo to issue a public apology which she refused to do. Why all the public sentiments after over 10years

Good. If it can be proved that the man has done all that, he should be charged to court without violating the law of the country. I am not supporting that he should go scot free, only that the rule of law must be obeyed before the 'oppression and suppression' is extended to you and i.
If you and I don't walk in the corridors of corruption, talkless of being involved in corruption, how will "oppression and suppression" be extended to us?

It is needless crying they should be charged to court when thorough investigation is yet to be concluded. Do you want DSS to present a weak case in court and be thrown out so that these guys can go scot free?

Not taking sides here but this story is ....... My reasons
1. Only trucks can be involved in such accident n d driver will be left unhurt at least after jumping a concrete demarcation.
2. Accident scenes any wr in d world ppl are more concerned abt d victims. Even if in Nigeria not to rescue them buh snap pictures. Till today no picture def not possible
3. D last time I checked licence plates are screwed to cars you can't just remove them with ease perhaps her fingers are spanners
4. Facts abt this mata cannot be as fresh as they r mkin us believe.
What the sister said tallies with what I read in the papers the next day. Journalists interviewed eye witnesses who said that Ibinabo's car left the carriageway meant for cars heading towards Ajah, flew over the median and rammed into the doctor's car. There were pictures of the accident scene in the newspapers. The eyewitnesses said that Ibinabo made a phone call and Danny Wilson showed up a few minutes later in another car (they said he showed up with policemen, if I remember correctly). They removed the licence plate and took Ibinabo away. The journalists later traced her to a private hospital.
@Muoweta I believe it is better you ask for the fact of the matter than to come with some hypothetical statements that further insult the sensibilities of the family and Nigerians. Pray tell, where were you in 2005, that you did not know the facts of this case that was a major headline news in the papers?

In sane countries she would have been charged on two counts at least, driving under influence and manslaughter

Do you ever go through Ugandan blogs and online newspapers? If you haven’t, you should. Ugandan journalists have the freedom to write about anything as long as you have proof, unlike in Nigeria where you may be sued for defamation despite having all the evidence.

Recently, social media in the country was set ablaze after photos of a top popular from Uganda enjoying some “quality” time with his alleged side chic were published in the country’s leading newspaper, Red Pepper. The photos went viral on social media leaving the politician embarrassed and humiliated.

Wish some of our heartless politicians spoiling young University Girls can be dealt with this way..

Well, here are some of the photos, flip through.

http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/03/popular-politician-caught-on-camera.html
I don't know what you mean by "unlike Nigeria where you may be sued for defamation despite having all the evidence". You don't publish people's private lives in the newspaper without their consent. The lady in question is a consenting adult and there is no law broken here by the legistator in the picture.

Even in the state, people sue when you publish their unclad picture on the media. 50 cents was recently fined $5million as compensation for Rick Ross' baby mama for publishing her explicit nude videos. Hulk Hogan is currently sueing for picutres of the consentual sex he had with his friend's wife that was released online......

So if Uganda as a country decides to be primitive, you just foolishly support them?

Nigeria still has a long way to go. 4000MW isn't enough to power a fully industrialised lagos and ogun let alone Nigeria.
Nigeria needs to adopt loop network and mesh in places like lagos and abuja. Proper transmission and distributions are needed.
Anyways, Nuclear and coal appears the best options for now.
You're right madam. Lagos demand capacity as documented is 20GW......but for a country that has not added a 1GW in the last 20years,we need to start from somewhere.

mrvitalis:
There only way out of this mess of light problem is
1) have a good gas master plan that would take gas to industrial Clusters... so that big companies can produce there own power supply
2) try to use all our resources in the hydro generation ( Brazil generated over 120000 mw from hydro why can't we get 20000 from ours)
3) the main power supply to the national grid should be based on coal fired plants this has the potential of giving us over 100000mw if well planned
4) a country as populated as ours on this small area of land must go nuclear.. .. We must build nuclear power plants to be able to generate 40% of our power out put, we have uranium and to get 10% to 15% enrichment required for the plant won't be hard.... we also have the brains, we have the Rivers
5) geothermal is also something I would advise but I honestly don't know our potential in this part.. .. for me I see it as the future
Bravo, good suggestions

It doesn't have to take them same time because we all see further by climbing on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead of us. A proof of this is the Igbo man with tomato paste factory, The only thing constant in development is change and all men have the capability to tow it's path.

Those of you turning this into Igbo discussion will kill the value we can take from this discussion.

My takeaways

1. Dangote had advertised in the newspaper that the importers of tomato pastes need not go to China. I don't think he's interested in playing downstream market.
2. This means those going to China needs not be looking for forex
3. This means more of the wasted tomatoes will be put to good use
4. This means more money for farmers
5. This mean more value adding products will come out of tomatoes aside from tomato paste
6. This means more potential for tomato export into other African countries

Exactly sir, the reason dangote is not complaining of dollars is simply because over 70% of his raw material are locally sourced he doesn't need to import heavily. I believe my Igbo brothers can do better than him if they change their strategy.
