Adeniyimi:\NgwaManNaija4LF: :Yes thats fine. We enjoy life. Partying everywhere and our bank account is fat, we build houses, buy cars. We dont pay mortgage here for our lifetime or financing a car. We do pay off ...which draw out envy out of them. Imagine a young hardwork Nigerian resident, with networth in millions of dollars. An In-law who came back home and set up law practice once told me he was shocked at the opportunities his childhood friends had taken and how it translated into their networth. He cited an example of a friend (also a lawyer) who had built a house in Lekki and when they did a valuation, it was work $1.2m back then. He said he reasoned that such will take an average European over 20years to pay in mortgage |
rgee:The only low she probably attempted is engaging the lowlife in conversation in the first place |
stevecantrell:Spot on Bro |
danites3:@danites3,ChinonsoDike2: :Being a Doctor is not the same as being legitimate in a foreign land. I know medical doctors that are going about with expired documents . It's failures like you that see Doctors as special human being... I read the course of my choice up to post-graduate level and also in oversea, hence, these things are not big deals to me like they are to you. You nailed it. These diasporans and their arse-kissers don't get it. That he's a doctor and so what? We have seen diasporans who despite the situation in the country have come back home quietly and set up their practice without noise. In Lagoon hospitals, I see consultants in Diaspora who come home to take sabbatical, exchange programs and stuffs. I stand to be corrected, hospitals like Reddington was set up by disporan who brought his investment back home. Companies like Zinox, then Robert's Cafe, Pragmatic computers, ProForce etc...... were these asking for a bucket list of amenities? |
sam90s:The guy is a statistic and an unimportant one jare............ |
slimfit1:It obviously is out of the list of what put food on your table, makes one to wonder why you try to communicate by it. At least we understand pigin.Icemany: :Make sure that English put food on your table sha . |
loomer:Bros, Some retorts needs no pampering. Half of the guys castigating Abike did not read the precedent, the other half are lacking in comprehension, so are simply just follow-follow. When a statistic feels the posterity of a nation depends on him coming to a ready made bed, then such should be Shushed! |
sweetgala:@Sweetgala, Thank you very much for your response. I kept scrolling up and down, flipping page to page hoping to find a dint of sense.............thank God I found one. For you lot in diaspora, the gospel truth is NOBODY IS ASKING YOU TO COME HOME. Abike Dabiri has just spoken the truth IMO and whether withing a context or out of it, the truth still subsists. I remember a trip I had to UK in 2008 and I stayed with a family friend. It was almost like we'd clashed on virtually every topic that has to do with Nigeria. They practically drew comparison with virtually everything, trying to convince me that their lives were better. Imagine pointing to waste collection and asking me that do we have such in Nigeria? I also rationalised to another friend in South Africa, that even though we don't have constant electricity at the moment as a country, I told him that with a combination of my Inverter and 2 generators, I guarantee uninterrupted power in my house and I spend less than the average South African, Londoner etc........seeing that I punctured his argument, he then went to ask why should I be the one to provide for myself and not government. I have exception for the arrogance of diasporans, and it's high time we "home-based" begin to put them in their places, as such replies like Abike's comes in precisely correct. Diasporas that will try to arrogantly tell you how much they are better, while most of them live sub-par in these countries. Some of these guys live in dingy council flats, basic condos and slaves to the system of the country, yet paint another picture to people back home. A friend came into the country and was suprised at the quality of car, the another friend brought to the airport to pick him with. He called me and was asking do you guys use such quality cars in Nigeria? Some of these useless diasporans seems to know more of Nigeria's problems more that we that live here. They get on social media and paint pictures beyond the realities of what is happening. They never contributed jack to the development of the country, they now want luxury to be lined up on red carpet to ferry them home. For the records, I am living in Nigeria by choice, my family make the summer trips (we're even tired of that one self). My siblings and my wife's siblings live abroad and some of these bulshit come from a few of them too. I was told a relative that if you wait too long before coming home, even your juniors would have advanced beyond your entry point in all strata of the society (business and politics especially) Nutshell, anybody that doesn't want to come home should stay the FVCK away and not shove our deficiencies in our faces. Stewwwpid Ass lowlifes, who couldn't hack it in Nigeria, ran abroad now what a chariot ride back home |
YoursGEJ:There is no basis of comparing Buhari to Jonathan. We have bade goodbye to wasted past |
stevebond007:You think this is about buying "boli" and "Pomo" on the roadside? |
justinmonalisa:It is not even supported by the government. It is a scam to mislead people into thinking that with Buhari's name, they will curry favours by donating money. It's the same old scam that had been used since time immemorial. I can hedge my bets that Chinedu has not seen Buhari beyond TV...... |
opia1984:Who told you Buhari or the presidency recognises him or has given him a dime? |
obailala:Bros, I know. Much more Kayode is trying to ward off fake Buharist, jobbers and scammers |
amtaken:I don't care who whether you stand with Buhari or not, or who does or not. what is condemnable is the attempt to use Buhari's name in attempt to raise fund for useless ventures, tricking people into donating monies to buy T-shirts and stuffs. the notion that this is a legimate way to make money is downright ridiculous..... Kayode has done beyond reporting him to the EFCC, he's gone ahead to whistle blow the scam for the world to know. |
fabre4:That is the problem with you guys, you don't bother to read well enough before jumping into wrong conclusions. It was the #IstandwithBuhari scammers that accused Kayode Ogundaminis of having not history of street protest and stuffs.........my submission is based on the fact that I know firsthand that Kayode Ogundamisi is not just and social media activist, he's also on the streets. Himself and some UKbased activitist collaborated with some Nigerians activists to independently campaign for Buhari, I got the invite but was unfortunately in South Africa when the event took place. Some exerpts below "You are leaving for Nigeria in a couple of weeks. Have you been paid to campaign for Buhari? It is obvious that 14 years of PDP and 6 years of Jonathan Presidency have reduced your perception of political participation to a cash and carry affair. Nigeria is not for sale. No, I have never been paid to campaign for, support or mobilize for Buhari. In 2011, I got a loan of £5000 from Barclays Bank, the records are available, I bought my plane ticket for £600 and donated what was left to the CPC and Buhari campaign team. I recalled Nasir El-Rufai asking me how I would survive for the entire period of the campaign. I did survive and we are in 2014. I have purchased my ticket again. I am going to Nigeria because I believe you have to walk the talk. I could have taken the easy way out and got involved in Jonathan’s conference like some of my diaspora colleagues did. They got over 46Million naira just for recycling the same documents passed on by Babangida and Abacha’s conferences. I am not the only one, we have a number of Nigerians in diaspora who are contributing to the Buhari campaign. I don’t have permissions to share names but someone is donating his family home for the period of my stay in Abuja and he’s just one Nigerian tired of the level of cluelessness of the Jonathan administration. In 2011, we lived on bread, sardine and water as we travelled across Nigeria with Buhari and the CPC. My joy is that today, Nigerians are donating every little amount to help in the campaign for change." |
naptu2: ![]() Naptu, You just made my day. I never knew it was the same Tokoya.......... It is important that we find people out and expose them. Another person that has come to my attention Yinka Odumakin, who was recently exposed by Chief Ayo Opadokun, especially how he's moved from Tinubu, to Afenifere, to Afenifere Renewal Group, to Buhari in CPC, to Jonathan and ..........who knows what next |
ajepako:Daniel Kanu made so much money to the extent he was even give "free access" to cheaply buy Durbar Hotel in Kaduna for his father.... I picture the scenario that had Chinedu not be busted, he will have raised the money, gone ahead with the scam 9million man march that will hardly be attended by 200people, there will be hangling and argument over funds, he will take flight and leave Nigeria for someone years only to come back and repeat the same old scam. Have we heard the classic case of an Alchemist scammer going round Europe in the 1800s, promising to help them "chemically-produce gold" in 7years, for a share of the taxes. When people get tired of him or suspects him, he goes to another country to repeat the scam..the scam almost lasted him a life time. If we are not careful, these guys will make so much money and later emerge to be buying businesses |
amtaken:Madam, You missed the essence of Mr. Kayode Ogundamisi's arguement, which is the scam that is about to be done to Nigerians by a hustler/scammer and not an altruistic nationalist. |
Ferdinandu:....and smelling business opportunity = defrauding people to you? same you will probably argue that we should not crucify drug pushers, 419ners, kidnappers and other vices, that they saw business opportunity? Please don't insult our sensibilities, some of us have values. |
eposho:But it is your Ibo brother wey use the same scam during Jonthan dey do this one again na..... |
obailala:Chinedu Okpalanma must be a skilled con man. Playing the same ol' scam over and over again......... Meanwhile, for the records, Kayode Ogundamisi was amongst the people that independently campaigned for Buhari on the streets (Ikosi-Ketu, Magodo axis) that I know first hand |
Gaddafithe2nd:Truth is that the two states that has the population to make such business worthwhile in Nigeria is Lagos and Kano. Meanwhile Kano is the producer, and except Osun has something else in exchange........Lagos is still the darling bride for markets. I am also from Osun state, and I believe we should be patient........ |
aresa:True dat |
OlujobaSamuel:I agree |
Gaddafithe2nd:In fairness, Aregbesola started before these guys. He's already in partnership with IITA on some specialised crop production.....http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/osun-signs-mou-with-iita-on-agriculture/ http://guardian.ng/business-services/business/osun-signs-mouic-development/ but you need to understand, Lagos as a big consumer will not look the way of Osun, because Osun does not have the kind of Land mass, that will accomodate the scale Lagos is looking for. |
bayulll011:.....and what value has this your needless vituperation added to the discourse? |
A7:but people should use their sense now..... even if the OP made the mistake, a noble thing to do is to point the attention of the OP to the error and not jump, albeit ignorantly-foolishly to criticise the governor.raumdeuter: You are the clueless one |
raumdeuter:@raumdeuter, many of these guys are intellectually immature, when you add the clandestine bigotry to the mix you understand the plight of people like @bettercreature.bettercreature: :You are the clueless one What people fail to realise is that both state are signing an agreement based on a proposal where the economics had been run. When you run project economics, you do not rely on unverifiable data. Lagos State can only rely for now on the input from the registered butchers in registered abattoirs. Remember that these butchers also transport their "kill" through Lagos State run Meat-Vans. Lagos State will not include cows killed in Kara (bother-line Ogun State) in the stats, even though I can hedge my bets that over 90% of the meat killed in Kara will end up in Lagosians stomachs. We should also realise that Lagos State, for strategic reasons may choose to "understate" the numbers, to protect their turf. I believe th numbers are way much more than that. Aregbesola had given a picture 3 years ago, when he commenced an investment in the state run Ranch farm, that over 10,000 cows are killed in Lagos everyday and he wants to target 10% of that market. What I believe is more important is the takeaway from these bilateral business relationships. Have we ever wondered that over N500billion moves in Lagos, just for the consumption of meat? Those of us in 9-5 jobs are screaming blue murder to those numbers. We are allowing such a magnitude of money to be managed by illiterates, when we can get into the fold and tripple that amount in 5years by adding more value to meat consumption. We just learnt an example with tomatoes, that a over 50% of tomatoes planted end up in waste and that we import tomatoes from China. Dangote is closing that gap now. Guess where again huge farming investment is going - North (Kano). Truth is that people are beginning to wake up. In my research work, I stumbled on literature that characterised 3rd world developing countries. Land is one key competitive advantage that was flagged as weapon for these countries. Countries that have used Land very well have gained some measure of economic prosperity. |
oglalasioux:@oglalasioux, you know what is heartening?Mprepz: :Yes. 1. States like Kebbi are beginning to wake up and realise that the vast arable lands in the North is a great asset and competitive advantage for them. The problem of draught can be easily solved with technology. Lagos State deserves applauds for taking the Initiative quicker than any other state or country, because if we're not careful, other countries will come to establish and run farms in the North, export the crops and we end up importing what was initially taken from us (just like crude oil) 2. Secondly, a State like Kebbi will begin to push their IGR and be less dependent on Oil. 3. Many of these Abokis accident-waiting-to-happen-Okada-riders will have incentives to go back to the farm, which I believe is their first love and they are skilled at What do I find disheartening? With comments of the likes of @Mprepz, you know that many people still needs redemption I am concerned that the East has not come up in terms of preparation for Agriculture. Are they interested in bilateral relationships or are they just going to be at the bottom of the pyramid |
Mynd44:@Mynd44,anonimi: :I am not sure about rice but as a result of tax and the butchers' associations, they have a rough estimate of how many individual animal is slaughtered each day, week, month and year. why are you telling him what he should naturally and logically have reasoned himself? |
Why don't you help us by telling us the defict statistician in Lagos state employ? How many are not employed at the moment. You also forgot to tell us what is the correct stats.....or is it in your thin brain? anonimi: |
