Bros, Simply delight in being yourself. You don't want to walk in Peter Okoye's shoes and assume his limitations |
I find it ridiculous that a blogger can type that someone earns 60 million naira a month...this is ridiculous. These bloggers just spew falsehood |
I think the OP is overblowing an issue. We cannot suddenly emerge like the United States. We are not compelled to do so. We must develop our ways. From your report, what is important is that there is a channel to contact your rep, and the rep responded. Is this available in Nigeria? May be yes. let me expatiate I finished my first Masters in 2004 in LASU. We then had problem with getting our results. In 2007, someone told my wife about the channel to approach the new VC(Prof. Hussain), which is a simple email. I composed an email, and sent it to the email address, complaining that 3years running I'm yet to get my MSC results. Fast-forward 2 weeks later, I received a phone call from the PA to the VC, who informed me that the VC commissioned him to investigate my case, and they found out that I was right. My result was subsequently forwarded to the Senate and the Senate passed it that day he called me and that I should come for it...... So one good turn deserved another, I sent another email thanking the VC and PA. I further informed them of an initiative I was priviledge to know which will benefit LASU - A specialized computer learning and development that a Nigeria Prof in the US (can't remember his name) partnered with UN for some select Nigerian Universities. As at then the Prof took it to UNN (his alma-mata) and OBJ's bell University. I recalled I had asked him why those two and why not others. He informed me of the means through which others could come in. All this information I gave to LASU. Note all these were email exchanges. I never met Prof. Hussain and his PA till date When Fashola was governor of Lagos State, a Unilag lecturer sent him an email on suggestion of how to solve the traffic gridlock at TBS-NITEL area. That is what led today to the by-pass by Muson. I know many Senators, House of Rep members and some other governors (Including the crude Fayose) have designated email address, through which you can communicate to them. Over 70% of our Senators have twitter account Now the problem I see is that many people will get rebuffed or ignored when they neither make any tangible contribution or get unnecessarily abusive while communicating with them. When Japhet Omojuwa organised a tweet-meet with Ambode, some people almost made a waste of the limited time. Instead of bringing issues and fact-based challenges, some chose to abuse him, and later wondered why he did not respond to them. For me, the solution is not in comparing with America and quickly start condemning us. We are evolving and we need to understand what fits our profile and orientation as people. America uses email channel, Nigeria uses town-hall meetings....it is the end that will justify the means |
kinharold:I think a whole lot goes into the calculation of these placement and it may not be as simple as we see. O'tega and Sylvia may not have proven their mettle in the rank and file of the party yet or there are some other positions penciled down for them |
Forwetinnah:Bros, I give up, your level is so rock-bottom I see that I risk getting "stained" by engaging in any discussion with you. |
blueseacats:My Brother, Leadership transcends paper qualifications, if not, people like Dangote and Bill Gates would have been "idiots". Running NIMASA is not rocket science. What had plagued NIMASA is that the previous government used it as one of the hot conduit for corruption. |
blueseacats:You mean someone like Apkolobokemi? |
Omo ti ku Iya o gbo |
Have anybody noticed that these are not state security agents (police, miltary, DSS or NSCDC) but simply private security company staff. The person in question should lodge a complaint at the police station and social media should pick this up |
Fools. Values have so been eroded, you mean students that fail to pay their school fees will go on rampage and hold the school to ransome. The state government should simply suspend the union, close the school and ask all of them to re-apply. The arrow heads should be sent packing. |
Forwetinnah:APC should tell you the individuals involved in missing monies under GEJ administration? How dumber can you get? #DumbAlert. This is a share waste my time....... I better expend my energy on someone who can reason |
kaeforum:I mean I don't see the relationship of your comment with my comment you quoted. Except you elaborated |
mavinc4u: ![]() Madam, cool down! your simply too average.. cheers |
Forwetinnah:Insult? consider that as even patronising. It is shameful enough that you referenced a link and argue stuupidly at variance with the content, context and essence of the report? |
kaeforum:I think you have mistakenly reference me here |
quickly:In addition 2 major market waiting to be exploited are Gas and Petrochemicals |
Lucasbible:Stop selling a failed GEJ story, it won't work. You did not vote for Buhari, and we know your type (sponsored liar) |
modik:My brother, We have a bunch of arrogantly ignorant folks here who hardly think or learn |
chinchum:1. OBJ had the same view when he sold Kaduna refinery to Dangote. He was miffed that YarAdua reversed it. Lagos state became the opportunity predator in this case, by quickly giving Dangote the land to build a refinery that will have a capacity more than all the current 4 combined 2. There are investors already working in the background to build refineries, mostly modular, so that they can recoup their investment in reasonable time 3. The refinery game changed some few years back. Before crude heavy in sulphur was discouraged and commanded less value in the market, as the need to remove the sulphur is another investment entirely. This made our sweet crude which had negligible sulphur to command premium price in the market. Today technology has changed. First of, new refineries are able to extract the sulphur out easily and such is sold in another market. Also this new refineries extract more derivatives from heavy crude as such they have more to sell. Our sweet crude which is light has relatively fewer derivatives, so premium price before as now become lower price |
Abagworo:This is a sacrifice we must be willing to take. Besides, the full picture of local refining is not show in this reports. A single barrel of crude oil has at least 12 other derivatives which are potential industries in the making. The Eleme Petrochemical company for example was at 20% capacity when government sold 75% of its shares. The new investors did not sack a single Nigerian staff and in less than 1 year it was operating at 100% capacity. This report is limited because it's simply viewing the value stream of refining to PMS, Diesel and Kerosine alone |
Lebee4:Welcome to NL filled with more Lazy idiots than rational thinkers. The OP went on a confused spree and other fools sheepishly followed suite. I can hedge my bets that 70% did not bother to read the article, 20% relied on the faulty premise of others to make assertion and less than 10% read and could not decipher the ministers drift. |
obasiken:Unfortunately your case of crass ignorance and comprehension deficit, did not make you to see that all your answers lie in the same report you referenced |
Forwetinnah:Where do you nincompoops emerge from? Did you bother to read the article you referenced? |
Sajio:Were you living in Mars or just plain ignorant. The PWC report was published in February 2015 http://cloudflare.qurium.info/premiumtimesng.com/docs_download/Full%20report--20billion%20dollars%20missing%20oil%20money.pdf?cf=1 |
LadyExcellency:Quit the folly! Even PriceWaterHouse flagged the caveat that the report was limited as they were not availed necessary documents to carry out a complete forensic report. "The procedures we performed did not constitute an examination or a review in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards or attestation standards. Accordingly, we provide no opinion, attestation or other form of assurance with respect to our work or the information upon which our work was based. " http://cloudflare.qurium.info/premiumtimesng.com/docs_download/Full%20report--20billion%20dollars%20missing%20oil%20money.pdf?cf=1 Even from the limited audit, you could see the loose ends......See some exerpts "He said that the report indicated that “the gap between the company’s oil revenues between January 2012 and July 2013 and cash remitted to the government for the same period was $18.5bn”. He said the report also outlined the questionable expenses parts of the missing money were spent on. The PwC report also indicated that some of the billions should have been expended on providing subsidy on kerosene and that the “executive secretary of the agency charged with administering subsidies confirmed that, acting on Yar’Adua’s orders, it had ceased granting subsidies on kerosene. There was no appropriation for such a subsidy in the 2012 or 2013 budgets,” Sanusi said in the article. The Emir of Kano believed that $12.5 billion out of the $18.5bn in revenues that the state oil company did not send to the government, according to his calculations, was diverted." http://guardian.ng/news/pwc-audit-report-confirms-18-5bn-was-diverted-from-nnpc-account-says-sanusi/ |
amtaken:OMG! I just realised I have wasted my time with a no gooder IPOB irritant |
isnovic:1. Please show us the records that showed that light situation improved during the time of Jonathan. Bros, I work in an industry that is a feeder to the power sector. Or do you call the shameless reply to CNN "ask Nigerians, they have light" that GEJ gave, as records? 2. The other part of your response here is pretty confusing. 3. You do not need to be fully mislead to come to a conclusion that someone is misleading you. GEJ unfortunate tenure is pretty unfortunate. I had said it that the mistake we made was the emotion of having vociferously clamoured he'd be allowed to become acting president and subsequently president based on a percieved cabal that wanted to hold this country ransome. He had no antecedents to justify his ascension to presidency neither did he leave anything of note to show that the country improved under him......the country regeressed under GEJ bro. |
mavinc4u:Classic! Comprehension issues. I'll probably take that as a consequences of the limitations of your exposure. Argument is irrelevant. When you've worked few years more, review this stand of yours and see your folly |
isnovic:I have an exception though, Nnaji's tenure was tainted with a moral dilemma. How can a sitting minister be the Chairman of a company that was about to be given concession of power station? For me that knocks him offAbagworo: Jonathan never allowed Barth to work and deliberately distorted the Geometric plant in Aba. Barth Nnaji is highly needed by Buhari Government if they want accelerated progress in power sector.Exactly my point. |
amtaken:You are a blatant liar. Simple. Show us when GEJ government generated 6GW. You do not even have an iota of idea of what this is about ![]() |
isnovic:You are a joker. Barth Nnaji and Pat Nebo and what did they leave us with? So you measure their performance on how they look in pictures when they visit power stations? Peak power during Obasanjo government was circa 4GW. GEJ's government after billions of dollar investment declined it to less than 4GW on the average, please tell me what is in the archives to see, beyond the show of shame (case in point derelict Enugu coal power station) some of you guys are simply more ridiculous beyond the low level reasoning I imagine. You're so shameless you don't even know what to acknowledge. A country of over 200million people and we're struggly with 4GW, when SA with less half our population are crossing the 100GW mark. |
It is idiotic trying to explain to the world about your private life. AY, you're simply playing into their net. |
